Been thinking about, "this challenge is a bust." You may be wrong. Yeah, I know not many are posting and some never have, but you and I are being accountable to others--if they'd read the posts--and most importantly, to OURSELVES. I guess this challenge is a bust.

I'm still doing well Increasing my water intake, what I put in my mouth and increasing my walking to and fro work now that the weather is being much more co-operative.

Doing better with diet and even better with my exercise now with the weather warming up. I've not only talked my manager into going for walks with me for our 3 0'clock coffee break but I now walk to and from work in the morning, at lunchtime and at quitting time.

Doing better with diet. I have increased my exercise now with the weather warming up. I've talked my manager into going for walks with me for our 3 0'clock coffee break.
Once my friend Leslie is home from BC I'll be doing even more walking. She and I want to begin walking for at least a half hour in the evening's weather permitting.

I got my afternoon walk in today! It's gorgeous out there today! So while the rest of them sat on their lorels I was out the door and down the street for 20 minutes! But man are my lungs out of shale!
I can't wit until my friend gets home from BC Then we want to start walking at leas a half hour a day weather permitting!

Saturday night and I have had a good start to the weekend. I have done a little less as I am still working on taxes plus getting my computer room in order and not moving as much as I should. Saturday finds me over 5,000 steps but will get more before bedtime. Of course, I have to count in daylight saving time here.

Let's all work hard this week and share what we find interesting (good or bad) to make this team #1.

Yes! I too had a great weekend. On target with both exercise and diet and an increase in steps because I was more active as I always am on weekends.
I also forgot what this first six weeks with Furhman does....clean out! I think that's all I should have to say about that LOL

03/01--Not a strong start for me this time. My weight continues to hover at 240--this a.m.'s weigh-in. Not a good follow through on my intents, either.
03/02--Still working to get up to speed.
03/03--Much more mindful about my eating.
03/04--Hitting my intents! Missed only 1 of them today.
03/05--Hit them all today! Feels good.
03/06--Met all intents today; even met step goal 9 of 9 hours!
03/07--Not so strong today; did accomplish tasks around the house and laundry
03/08--Felt draggy yesterday/today, so not doing so well at meeting intents; careful when I ate
03/09--Met intents again today! Feeling better
---gave in to dreariness---
03/19--Did a good job meeting intents, sleep/steps per hour--9 for 9!/calorie goal
03/20--Another good day. Met most intents; missed sleep by 1 hour, missed steps/hour by 1
03/21--Met my intents, so counting it a good day.
03/22--Another good day, met intents, so.....yea!
03/23--While numbers on intents are down, it is the weekend and I allow myself some slacking off. Keep the sleep and calories constant, though.
03/25--Met all intents today. Yea!
03/28--Planning for a winning April. Intents will stay the same and I'm working on meeting them more often. Today wasn't to bad--missed on sleep
03/31--well, glad to have the hit/miss March behind me. I need to be consistent since the 5% challenge starts next Saturday and I need to be in the habit.
04/06--well maybe not such a strong start to April. My husband has had some doctor appointments with more to come, so that has jumble my schedule. Am starting to see my calendar and my tasks and my goals now
04/08--Had a good start to the week; did household chores, laundry AND my cardio/strength exercising. Was mindful of my eating and stayed in calorie goals. Yea Me!
04/09--Well, a pretty good day. Met most of my intents, lack only the strength/toning exercise. Will try again tomorrow.
04/10--Met intents except miles walked and cardio time. Will work on that tomorrow; I know I can meet the intents, I've done so in the past.
04/11--missed on several intents. Tomorrow I will do better.
04/13--better today; missed my exercise minutes and miles walked. Will work on both those tomorrow.
04/16--I need to refocus. I find I'm doing ok with some intents but need to do better on ALL of them.
04/17--Good day; didn't meet all my intents, but doing better

An Excellent intent Retiree!
I'm up and on the move here since 5. I've gotten a few things accomplished already and have a few more to do and then I'm headed off to Stettler to do the month end shopping so there's my walking for today! None the less I'll still get on my stepper for my lower toner.

My plan
--exercise AT LEAST 30 minutes per day
--sleep 7-8 hours per night
--drink at least 64 oz of water per day
--eat 4-5 servings of fruit and veggies per day

I will allow some flexibility because.............life. But this is my intent.

And we are day 1!

2 cups apple cider vinegar water

Breakfast smoothie ready - almond silk unsweetened, small banana, 7 pineapple chunks, 2 cups spinach kale mix, ginger and cinnamon. Makes 16 oz.

Lunch a 6 cup salad Romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, 2 Tbsp mixed nuts and seeds, 1 Tbsp fat free poppyseed dressing

Dinner steamed vegetables stir-fry 6 cups

This will pretty much be my baseline.

My exercise will be walking, stepper for 20 minutes 5 days a week in the evenings, My mornings I do my upper toning one day and lower toning the next. Today I started with upper doing wall push-ups

My game plan will of course be to follow Dr Furhman's first 6 weeks cutting out sugars, and the bad fats, Essentially it's eating a vegetarian diet for those first 6 weeks and increasing my water intake to 6-8 glasses.

My exercise is continuing my walking using my stepper for 20 minutes a day and my toning every other day. Now that the weather is warmer and co-operating I've also been using my afternoon breaks at work to go for a 15 minute walk.

And that's me. If there is any changes in my game plan along the way I will keep you posted.

Starting Mar 1, 2019 this will be your check-in point. You can choose to check-in daily or weekly for support and accountability.

After the initial check-in with a detailed report of what your game plan of diet and exercise will be, what your goal is for loss or if you haven't anything to lose you may be just wanting to become healthier, by changing your habits, you needn't give a detailed report every check-in unless you feel the need to. You can simply let us know that you have been on track or share your struggles so that the others may share tips and tricks that may help and leave an encouragement.

Keeping it warm isn't the problem. It's reducing the threshold of pain.
It's not so bad once I've taken all my medicinals plus a 12 hour Advil. But with time it wears off.

Today, not so much My back is causing issues. It's this severe cold we've been having.
However, I did find some arm toning exercises I could still do and started on them this morning

I'm continuing to exercise every day. I now do 100 planks, 10 minutes on my stair climber and 30 squats.
Now, I have a FitBit to count my steps, keep track of my blood pressure and cholesterol.
So far I've managed at leas 5000 steps a day or better. today its 5205

Have now increased my standing planks to 60 and my chair squats to 30.
I had to change my wall squats to chair squats because of the havoc they were causing to my knees.

Yesterday's exercise was shovelling snow and walking! Changed it up. This morning it's right back to planks and squats. I keep gradually increasing both. This morning I've done 30, 3 sets of 10 The squats will take a bit more time Right now I'm working my way to completing 1 set of 15 I'm doing 15 but I'm breaking it up into 1 set of 7 and then 8 more sometime throughout the day.

One thing. How many planks and squats does your doctor say is enough for you. We have a tendency to think more more and it makes it better. Very thin line between just enough and over do then we can’t do anything because we hurt ourselves. If not sure ask doc. Hug

Planks and squats are done! I've now increased planks to 50 and squats to 15! Feeling pretty darn awesome!

I still mostly eat weight watchers diet style using Dr Furhman's Eat To Live now and it's working. If this continues I should be at least 10 maybe even 15 pounds lighter by Christmas now! I'm already down the 4-5 pounds during the 2-week challenge and I seem to have kept going.

It is, of course, another work day for me but what I have been doing for exercise is to do 4 sets of 15 with my bands and then in the evenings I go work out with my friend Leslie and use her rowing machine and my recumbent bike for 45 minutes to an hour.

I worked Monday and tracked my exercise and walking. Then worked from home until Friday, so wasn't tracking Tuesday - Thursday. Friday I went into work and ran errands for work, so I got in over 3.5 miles and over 10K steps, exercised with walking and such for 100 mins. Today I was back to doing bookkeeping at home, so I didn't really track again. Tomorrow we are supposed to go to a party, so I will track my steps and such tomorrow. And Monday I will be back at work. My boss is coming back from Chicago sometime next week, so it could end up being a busy week for me. We have the deadline of getting all the exts done by the 15th, plus quarterly payroll reports, and also getting the P & L's for the bookkeeping clients done. Not sure if I am going to be the one running to all the clients up the coast and in Escondido, or the boss will do it. I am thinking he is going to be busy with the taxes, so it will probably be me. If so then I will get a lot of walking and steps in with that.
