We're going to get VERY realistic today.

We all know that simultaneously overhauling both diet and incorporating an exercise routine any time of the year has always proven to be a recipe for disaster. In avoiding this predictable "falling off the wagon syndrome" we are going to approach this realistically with a challenge not for temporary success but designed to help build healthy life style changes you can stick to for a life time.

Each of us is different, our lifestyles are different, our circumstances are different. So there is no patterning everyone the same and expecting them to succeed the same way.

Think about this. We get up in the morning. We have our routine. We do it without thinking. It's like we're on auto pilot, right? That's what I'm talking about. These changes we make for the betterment of our health now should also become automatically a part of our life's routine. So much so that we don't have to stop and willfully push ourselves to do it using willpower.

With that in mind...are you ready to get started?

Here's your challenge.

Knowing yourself, what makes you tick, starting today I want each of you to choose and commit to doing just one thing and incorporate it into your life's routine for the next 7 days, an entire week. Post it.

Your life depends on it! It really does! Because we know that if we chose not to make these changes and continue down the road we are now on our quality of life is effected, our health without a doubt will decline. If it helps, schedule it on your calendar as if it were a most crucial meeting with yourself. Then, check in on the Challenge Wall and tell us about it!



TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

My challenge is to eat real food and ditch the junk food junkie lurking inside of me.

I do workouts most days, but lately they have been shorter than usual, so I also want to increase my dedication there. Although, what I am doing is enough if I would make better food choices, so here I go. emoticon starts again!!

What's working for me right now. I'm up sometimes twice during the night with puppies needing to go out so while I'm waiting for them to want to come in I do my pushups and squats So far today, 90 pushups and 1 set (15) squats!

30 minutes or more of exercise 6 days per week This can be anything from yoga, brisk walk, elliptical, etc emoticon

I'm an eternal optimist. I found the Secret; the Eat to Live plan. I will be a Success Story !
I will be wearing that Little Black Dress. The Secret is consistency!

These are your lifestyle changes permanent? Remember they must be something that is going to be changed for the rest of your life, not just a temporary; the week. Because week two we're still incorporating week one and adding another lifestyle change to it.

Thanks for the challenge. And the "demand" for accountability. It is the accountability that I need to be successful.
Got the exercise thing well in control. I've started a calendar for it.

My challenge will be snacking. I'll allow myself 2 snacks daily--one a.m, one afternoon--and I must have healthy snacks--fruit or veggies. NO evening snacking (and I LOVE popcorn).

You got it girl That is exactly the plan. Once the first week is completed we ad another lifestyle change to the first one and work both! And so on!

Here is my lifestyle change choice:

NO alcoholic beverages at all this week. I plan to continue this, week-by-week as well as gradually incorporate other healthy lifestyle changes. The last time I abstained I lost weight consistently each week until all my extra weight was GONE! I will post my progress to the wall weekly (on Sundays). Best wishes to all for the coming week!

Here is my choice of lifestyle change.

I work 7 days a week behind a desk. This give me little time for physical exercise.
I'm up at 5 most mornings. I'm not to work until 8 am. There's 3 hours prior to starting my work day.
I started this morning. My routine now includes the vigilance of 1 set of 15 wall push ups and 1 set of 15 wall squats.

Today is my tomorrow
It is up to me to shape it,
to take control and seize every opportunity.
The power is in the choices I make each day.
I eat well, I live well
I Shape ME!
