I just got home from work at 12:15 AM. I drive a school bus and I was doing a charter/sports trip to Marshfield. Even with my crazy hours I managed to get everything prepared to take with me on my trip so I could still eat healthy.... It wasn't so bad. I'm a learning...... emoticon

I had a dream of being skinny again and I woke up crying...I want and need to be that way again!!!

Prior to meeting my husband I had been on the SB diet and lost 30 lbs, & I have to say I looked amazing!!! I had been in the kitchen cooking or preparing meals all the time, but the fact of not spending more time with "The Love of MY Life" started to get to me... He began helping me cook, etc, only he would add his own twist to everything and slowly I/we made our way away from the grueling hours in the kitchen to going out to eat a few times a week. (It was so much easier for someone else to cook.) Then it was almost every day we'd go out. Well, as you all know that was the beginning of the end for me keeping the weight off...

We got married 2 yrs ago in August and I struggled to look my best for our wedding, but I just couldn't lose what I had gained. Since then I have gained another 20 plus pounds and hate looking at myself in the mirror!!! I have no idea who is looking back at me....

My Husband would make comment about me getting a little too heavy and that I SHOULD get exercising. It would make me mad, and then he'd say "Let's go to Friendly's for dinner!" WHAT??? NO MORE!!!! I put my foot down and said NO MORE!!!!

September 11 was the first day of my "NEW LIFE" !!! I Loved how I looked when I was thin and I want to be HEALTHY again. I am now following Sparkpeople to do that... It's been challenging, but I'm on my way to accomplish that and my husband is now on board. We both need it!!! One Day at a Time!!!!!!!!!

My goal? To have my wedding dress ALTERED and renew our vows to a HEALTHY NEW LIFE!!!! (We never had pictures taken, because of me feeling so FAT... I didn't want those memories of looking that way!)

Thank you for your input! I actually figured that out as I was going along... I couldn't remember how to get back into this message area until today when i had time to look. I now spend either Saturday or Sunday going thru the weeks menu and write out my grocery list and shop for what I need. It actually has been working better for me.

I try to prepare as much as possible when I can so I'm not feeling the brunt of it like I was. I need and want to succeed in my weight loss journey and learn to make healthier choices for both my husband & I. So far he has loved everything I've made from all the recipes I collected from SP, which is awesome! We are now both losing..... emoticon

Thank you again for your advice and input! I am learning to be more calm about all of this and I'm happy to report my hubby is helping, but only if I ask him to. Before he would add alittle of this or that to what I was making and throw everything I was doing to the curb. He knows I have to do this for me. (He almost choked when I told him how much I weighed and said, see this is what We were doing to ourselves? He now understands..... It's just "US" that can make the change....

I'm Thankful I found Sparks!!!!!

This is only a challange if you make it one. You can make this fun without all the stess. Like Nomorestalling said, this is a lifestyle change, not something you have to rush into or even put a lot of work into. Take it one day at a time and plan ahead. Like the other poster stated, plan your meals on the weekend. I might help if you made a weeks worth of menus and make a grocery list for the food items that went with your menus and if you can prepare you meals ahead of time and freeze them. Sparkspeople have a lot of recipes that can be prepared ahead and frozen. That could save you sometime when you are too tired to think about what's for dinner.

Another thing, if you see yourself running behind, you could ask you hubby to start the dinner and your could finish when you get there, just a thought!

But most of all K, don't stress over this. Make it fun.

One thing you don't need to do and are and need to stop doing is stressing yourself out about it hon. Just relax with it. You already have a full life. This is something you don't need to be stressing yourself out about. It's a lifestyle change take it gradually You don't have to push yourself beyond your own limits. Not with this.

What time do you get home after working all day? How old are the other members of your family Could they be helping out?

I usually have my what i am going to mhave for dinner already prepared so it doesn't take as much time.....
I don't stress oif I don't get to exercise in a day as some days I don't.....

I usually do my weeks menu's at the weekend when i have more time and then it is just a case of looking at them the night before to see what is for dinner the next night.....
That may be of help to you....

Life has so many challenges and here's just one more... Trying to find enough time for me.... I'm so exhausted by the time I get home from work, then try and find a healthy meal to cook for hubby & I and then get on here to go thru what I ate, etc or to just figure out what to do next. It's not working very well for me. How do all of you do it? If your on the lap top your not doing other thing's you should be doing, like exercising or? How do you split yourself in different directions and succeed?

I've got a headache just thinking about it.........
