Fowl Play - 2 points Let's play a game of Turn It Around! All you need to do is find things in your day today that you can turn around and do backwards. Examples: If you usually put your pants on first then your shirt, do the opposite -- shirt first, pants second walk backward from one room to the next. (not recommended to do at work unless you are prepared for the strange looks you'll get!) Eat your entree before your salad Read the paper from back to front instead of front to back. You get the idea. It is amazing how much of a rut we are in with our daily routines. This will help shake you up for a day and get you thinking about what you do, how you do it and if it is the best way or not. Maybe you will find an area or two that needs some shaking up. Post some of the things you turned around today. It may give someone else ideas.

There are even specialty exams registered dietitian nutritionists can take in order to specialize in various areas. You can discuss your concern with your primary care physician and ask for a referral to a registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in your specific area of concern.


Good to know!! In the past, I've been recommended to see one to help me lose weight, but I didn't. I figured they'd just tell me what food to eat or not eat, which I knew. Interesting to see there's more to it!

I read an article on the common mistakes on eating out. #1 was:

Ignoring Other Meals

This one begins before you even leave the house. When you're excited for a restaurant meal, it's easy to put other food choices on the backburner. But when everything you eat before and after also contributes to the day's nutritional intake, this slip-up can do more harm than good.

Solution: Plan out your whole day and do not skip meals. Eat lighter if needed and plan for what you will order using online menus if possible.
