Last day of week 3. Stay on track with tracking food. No planned fitness exercises but lots of heavy work cleaning up the outside for the winter. I still need to learn how to track those type of activities. The scale went in the right right direction. Lost 2.6 pounds.

I am ready for week 4. On Tuesday, I will see my diabetes educator and fine tune my meal planning. So it's ON ! ! !

Still loving the exercise! I did get a new meter and I thank those who suggested the relion. It cost less for 5 0 strips and the meter than my co pay for the others.

Feeling better. Starting to lose the depression and focus more on the positive. I will beat this yet.

Starting week 3 and I am off to a good start. I haven't been doing good for the past 2 weeks. (Only lost a pound) Today I stayed within my range by following SP diabetic management tracker, I done 55 minutes of intense Zumba and I drank water like a crazy person!!! LOL

Yesterday I resisted the urge to eat all of my lunch when i reached satisfaction. I worked out and I got a lot of cardio. Feel much more like I'm going to make it!

Food tracking is good but the food I'm eating needs to be pre-planned to keep from going over. Also, more healthy carbs. I have been tracking daily and it is no surprise that the scale doesn't move downward.

Strength training and PT are doing great.

Cardio is OK but I do want to increase it and be more consistent.

Videos are helping me to shake it up.

Hello all
I have had a rough week I only was able to complete 2 workouts this week. I gained 3 lbs not sure as to why. I know that some of it was what I ate but then I am not sure if it was also becauseI did not workout the 3rd day.
M work schedule has been crazy and then family issues.
My goal this week is to try a new workout video itis shredd by biggest loser. I know that this will not be easy but the more I work at it the easier it will become.

I want go apple picking this weekend but they are calling for rain, so I am not sure my be I will take my boys to the local community center for swimming.

BG 119 Fasting at 4:30pm. I go to bed at 9am and get up at 4:30pm as I work nights.
Feeling good. Just received The SparkPeople Cookbook from Amazon today and it is Great!!!
Lots of good stuff.
My husband used to be a Chef in England and he's looking forward to working with the cookbook.
We are looking forward to using the recipes.

my fbs is 8.2 this morning. Yes I am from Canada. I am still sick with this flu bug. I was to ill yesterday to do any cardio or strength training. But I went for my walk. I am hoping this flu doesn't last to much longer. My hubby is worried because of my paralyzed stomach. But I feel a bit better today.

week 3 day 5 or 6 ( I don't know when the week ends or start)

I had an OK day. Big breakfast - egg scrambler w/lots of veggies and shredded potatoes. I take Glucocare which are homeopathic capsules. You basically take them after you eat any carbs. I haven't been taking it for long, just started but It helps me not to crash after eating potatoes or any white carbs.
Lunch was very lite, iced coffee w/sugar free creamer. Cranberry/nut loaf.
Dinner was good. I resisted eating lomein, and General Tso chicken. I did eat a spring roll but it didn't affect me. Fridays are a hard day for me. Wasn't physical at all, except for the stairs I climbed throughout the day. I work in a building that has 3 floors and no elevator. So that is a good thing.
I could have had a better day but Tomorrow is another day, God willing.

That's true. I rather have the real deal but a very very small taste. That satisfies me.
I don't buy sugar free anything because I'm allergic to aspartame. (affects my nerves)
Don't trust splenda. (Not out long enough)
I use Agave. It's low glycemic and it's great with my coffee. yummy.

Hi, Ladyteresa, do you livein Canada?? Your bs reading 8.1 isn't the US format is it? When I eat diabetic candy my sugar goes up and I get the trots if I eat more that 2, They sometimes use sugar substiute that is worsre than real sugar.I tried one of those chocolate eclairs and bs was fine afterwards.

morning everyone my FBS was 8.1 this morning, don't know why its so high!! I even walked last night, had diabetic candy so that didn't do it. Anyway still sick with this sore throat but I think its getting better. Its very windy here so I better go for my walk before it gets worse. Its supposed to get up to 50 miles an hour.

Hi Everyone,

week 3 day 4

Had a good day again. So thankful that I am keeping up with it. I did have a friend bake me a dairy free cranberry loaf, so I couldn't be rude and not have a slice. It was delicious!!
Lunch was a greek salad, no feta cheese with grilled chicken.
Did my exercising this evening. Powered walked/jogged for about 20 min. More walking than jogging. Intervals of both. Did my 20 min core full body workout video. Included modified push-ups, and planks. Feeling good about what I was able to do today.

Let's keep up the wonderful life changes we are doing for ourselves.

today I had eggs for breaky haven't had eggs for ages. 1 piece of toast and a little cheese. Sugar raised a bit to 10.1 but was down by lunch to 7.2 now it's snack time. boy it seems like I'm always eating. I did my walk too.

Hi Ya'll,

I am going to start week 3 over. Haven't been eating good or posting. Feeling guilty and disgusted with my choices. :( But I am back on track as of today. Had a good eating day. Powered walked for 15 min and jogged for 6 min. Did some modified push-ups this morning and feeling good.

Was recommened to read "Sugar Nation" by Jeff O'Connoll. I haven't finished reading the book. It is informative and you might want to read it.

Continue the fight to improve your health and body. We can do this!! Faith in ourselves and encouraging one another.

So far today I feel better than yesterday. My husband massaged my shoulder blades, shoulders and base of the back of the neck to release the strain from working out and I feel like it helped :) Yeah!!!

Week 3 Day 2.

Portion control doing great with my trusy measuring cups, spoons, etc...

Still trying to figure out what to call breakfast, lunch and dinner since I work night shift and sleep in the daytime-my schedule is all turned around it gets a little confusing.
I am eating a small meal at 2am as I am at work and if I don't eat a small meal my sugar tends to drop too low as I work on a busy Cardiac floor and I am running around all night long. On my off work days I do not eat a 2am small meal and convert back to trying to keep a somewhat "normal"
eating schedule. emoticon

yesterday I decided to track my own food plan instead of the Sparkpeople's food plan.
I've discovered that I am not eating enough calories, no wonder I'm not losing any weight.
I started a third part-time job last week and it will be a challenge to eat right. Will have to plan
out my meals better.

week 3 Day 4 - Still logging foods everyday, working out and drinking 64oz of water. It's getting easier to feel satisfied with the smaller portions and also easier to stop eating when I'm not hungry anymore. The hardest thing is relying so much on the nutrition tracker. I hope this will eventually help me make good choices from just knowing the foods.

This is Day 1 for me.

I am logging all my foods every day. Portion control is great. Don't go any were with out my measuring spoon. LOL. (I use agave for my coffee, don't use any artificial sweetner)
So far lost 20 pounds in 2 months.
The food is not a problem. I eat only whole wheat pasta and bread and brown rice.
I make sure I have my protein and love my salads and fruits.

Had class this morning and we are going to a 50th birthday party this evening at a seafood restaurant. I will be having steamed fish with the veggie of the day and Maryland Crab soup. Having a really big salad in a few minutes. I don't want my reading to reflect junk. This is my last day here and although it was a good week, I did not get in a lot of exercise because I just did not feel well. Best Wishes.
