In the six months I've been on SP, yesterday was probably my worst day. As for calories, I stayed under my max, but just didn't make good choices. Today I will be back on track. I know that life will catch me like this from time to time, so I have to deal with it. Tomorrow is weigh-in day. I think I will be up a couple of pounds from last week. That too is part of life, so I just have to keep working, face it, and move on.

Have a great day all.

Finished week 3 onto week four. Recap: Traveled Saturday and Sunday however I packed my band and used it at the hotel. Today I used the band and walked 2 miles. I am having to improvise until I return home next week. I caught up on tracking food today.
Continued success to everyone.

Hello All,

I am still going strong. I am doing my bike, I do the elastic band video, and I lift 6 lb weights on each arm. It is going good.

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

It is hard sometimes to make that time for yourself. But even fifteen minutes at a time can help you see results and gives you a break from the desk! Glad a friend sent you the chair exercises!

The exercise is by far my biggest downfall. This weekend, I was paractically chained to my desk doing a project for work. One of my team mates sent me a link for chair exercises I could do. That helped to get in at least a little exercise along the way.

Beginning week 3 and needing to stay focused! I am doing what I am supposed to as far as the training and food tracking, but cheated this weekend (hubby took me out for Valentine's dinner to my favorite restaurant!) I couldn't help myself! I didn't eat much of what I shouldn't have (only had 1 roll) but I did over-do on the rest of the dinner, and am paying for it today! Am so miserable, both physically and mentally! But I know I can't beat myself up over it, just get back on and start this week with a positive attitude! On a good note, I did lose 5 lbs this week! So it wasn't all bad! Just need to stop beating myself up over the bad choices I make!

Hey Ghostsister, I had a big aversion to exercise for so long. I was too big; I didn't have the stamina; I...; I...; a million excuses. I started small. I have blogged and posted several times how I started with very short walks and when I had to give up walking, went out and bought a recumbent bicycle, where I only lasted five minutes the first time. Now exercise is just part of my routine of the day. Start small and be consistent with those small starts. You'll find yourself adding time and/or intensity. It will make a big difference, not just in weight loss, but in BS numbers, etc. Good luck.

Week two was successful and now I'm into week three. It seems to be a challenge for me to get going on the exercise everyday as I need it, but I'm trying to change my attitude towards exercise and once I get it changed, I'll be okay.

Won the weekly challenge this week! emoticon I have been really trying these 3 weeks, but I see no weight lose yet. It doesn't matter I just want to feel better, and I am! I have found that my portion sizes emoticon are getting smaller though and hopefully I will see something soon. I am not giving up!

Hope everyone has a beautiful Valentine's Day tomorrow!

I had a good week and am down around 4 pounds! Makes up for the 2.6 I gained last week. I got some good exercising in this week too. I weigh in on Mondays so I'll know for sure tomorrow. My BS numbers were better most of the time this week also. I'm working on getting them consistently in range. Each week they get better. Thanks for the support and encouragement! Here's to us!

Hi everyone!
So happy to see all the success stories here!

I am just starting week 3 myself, am looking forward to the week ahead, setting goals and am anxious to see which ones I accomplish.

I put on a pair of jeans today that I have not been in for over a year, it felt great..so things are workin'!

Just starting Week 3. I watched the resistance band video. I don't think I will use it. I may use a couple of things. Because of my neck and back issues, I really have to be careful with most of the upper body ones featured. I do, however, think it's a great concept. I will continue to do what ST I can do and look to add a few new exercises, perhaps up the time to 20 minutes. I saw some resistance band for the lower body that I thought looked really good.

My BS was 110 this morning. I wasn't surprised. I ate a couple of things yesterday that I don't usually eat. I was still way below calorie range and carb range, but I had some ice cream and a bar at the speech meet. I also halved a pill that I take, as I didn't get to the pharmacy to pick up new pills. I will get them tomorrow. That reading was before I took my regular pills for the morning, so I will test later and I'm sure it will be fine.

Have a great day.

It has been a good week. I really have enjoyed doing the resistance band workouts. I can see I am making some progress. My blood sugars seem stablized and that is ground for happy dancing. I know that all the exercise is helping. Have a joy filled week, I am ready for week 4 now. WOO HOO!

Been a long week. Have discovered that my BS is different on one meter than it is on another. The older one runs higher numbers, but they're still better in the last month than they were when I started.
A few days ago I did something to my foot and have had trouble just walking on it without pain. But I figure I'll "walk through it" eventually. Several athletic friends have suggested I get more support in my shoes...so what ever works. Scales keep wavering in a 3 pound range and that's a little frustrating...but no stopping now.

Keep Sparkin'!

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers Philemon 1:3,4

week 3 has been busy. Not as much exercises from the videos because of lots of walking. I thought I would change my routine as I was concentrating more on the workouts and not losing any weight. So this week I changed my routine and lost some weight.
I have had many hours of walking, completed the cardio workouts. Did the resistant band workout but this played merry hell with my shoulders so I have not done this again.
Lots of cooking, like making chutney. This took quite a few hours. Actually everything I made this week took time.

As I only got part way through week 3 and had to have some foot surgery, I will start over (maybe from week 3) when I'm able to get around better. Since I had the surgery yesterday I have a couple of days with keeping it up and minimal weight bearing when I am up (potty runs and to the table for meals). I return to my podiatrist next Thursday when I'll get further instructions. I do know I have to wear my surgical shoe for 3 weeks. That is going to be fun.

Hello All,

Golddust, I am so sorry to hear that you have gotten the bug. It is a real bad one this year. I hope that you will recover soon. I will say some prayers for you to get better.

It is very cold here. It is only 23 outside and that is without the windchill. I have to go out this morning and I am definitely dressing warm.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

Hello All,

I was suppose to start week 3 yesterday. I had lost track there for a little bit. Now I am on the right one.

Today I have done 20 minutes on my exercise bike. I will be walking around the house for a while today. I will come back and post how many steps I take.
I am going to do at least 10 minutes of 5 reps of lifting 6 lb weights for my arms. I will be doing 10 minutes of 5 reps of marching in place. I will be using the 20 minute elastic band video for strengthning.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm

Best wishes to all!

Hi GAARAMA,

Great posting.....trying is a winner, getting it done, is a winner who succeded to the end.
Changes are good. I was taken off a few meds I was taking about two years ago and saw a big difference in my weight loss. One being Lyrica for my fibromyalgia, I am taking something else now.....it came off slowly, now two years later I have loss 90#'s
have twenty more to go :) I am a diabetic #2 and not taking insulin.....have b/s under control thanks to following diabetic recipes....
I wish you the best, you are determined to make the change and that is what counts :)

I saw my doctor yesterday, she made some changes in my meds and I will see her in May to see if BS improve. By this time I should lose some weight too. Two of the meds I take cause weight gain, I am in an ongoing battle to find the right balance that works for me. She was very pleased about this challenge, she said to stay with it and I should begin to see a change in four weeks. I am more determined than ever to see this to the end.

Oops, somehow I missed adding the stability ball video on the second week. So this week I have added both stability ball video and the resistance band. It should not be to too much as I have been doing strength exercises for quite awhile.

My A1c is now 5.2 from my recent lab results. I'm also, mapping out a new route and getting to do my second 13.1 mile walk/job. The last one I walked the whole way, but I did finish. I want to beat my time from last year. My walking shoes are ready to go. I can't wait until it start getting lighter in the morning. I had a great workout this morning 55 minutes of the elliptical and 55 minutes circuit/strength training. Keep up the great work everybody during and after the challenge.

Week 3 for me, too. I've lost 7 lbs, an inch from my waist ( altho it looks like more) and I'm doing T-Tapp MORE daily (20 mins) plus a 15 minute or more walk daily. T-Tapp MORE is a rehab program for anyone with joint, health, aging, or obesity issues and I feel so much better since I've been doing it.

My blood sugar is under tighter control thanks to this challenge! This is another stressful week, but I have been walking, writing in my journal and spending time in prayer instead of eating junk food...this is a huge change for me!

I really like the video for the week three ....the 20 minute resistance band workout, and I would do it every day.....*grin* but am going to do it every other day for part of my strength training....but why does it only count as 5 points in terms of what our ST is .....? How is that measured, I wonder? am also doing my cardio.....both Anne Burnell's chair exercise video clips as well as switching back and forth between Leslie Sansone's dvd and Coach Nicole's Cardio Blast "Walk it out" Workout.

Good Morning Everyone

Everyone is doing fantastic. I have been exercising daily, tracking my food and cooking up a storm. My BS has been coming down for the exception of this morning. I tried a new low carb recipe for dinner. It had chicken breast, tomatoes, spinach, garlic, mushrooms, herbs. The kicker was I had it with wheat pasta. Not a good idea, now know that even the new lower carb pastas do not work for me. Next time I will have it without the pasta.
My weight is still holding and not budging but I will continue to practice portion control until that darn scale moves.
One for All and All for One we are doing this together!

I'm also a three-weeker I have been doing my exercises and eating better. But I am also starting to pick a bit, but not too much. I did complete more last week than this week.
But I am still making my quota.
Well done everybody. emoticon

Hey week three-ers!

So far so good - I'm meeting my personal fitness goals and making an effort to make healthier snacking choices. Chocolate was replaced with some snow peas and almonds yesterday.

I sent the guy out to pick up a resistance band while he has the afternoon off. I'm hoping he managed to find one, because I'm looking forward to trying the workout. Until then, I've been doing first first workout in my cubicle (had my boss walk in on me doing pushups against my cabinets. Oops...)

Keep it up, everyone!

I'm hoping that soon I'll get my enthusiasm back. Exercising is not a problem. I actually think that I can see the results of my strength building. My problem is with food. I only eat things that are on the "good" list; I'm just taking in too many calories to lose weight. Hopefully I'll get some control this week.

1 down and 2 more strength training to go. Completed 2 mile walk and last night Tai Chi for and hour. Hopefully this keeps me motivated. I'm having some trouble sticking with the diet - blasted night eating. This time I ate almonds - healthy but not that healthy!

I expect to pass through this life but once. If, therefore, there can be any kindness I can show, or any good thing that I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now as I shall not pass this way again.
