Hi Lissa, and thanks for introducing yourself. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It's great that you've started to exercise, and it sounds like your entire family is having fun with the Xbox. It's never too late to start making changes to improve our health, and you're making an excellent start!

Welcome!
My sympathy for the loss of a childhood friend. Just today I also learned of the death of a high school acquaintance. It certainly makes you take a look at what changes need to be made in our own lives, doesn't it? My acquaintance died as a result of surgery complications but it is still a cold reality and a wakeup call.
Keep your goals in front of you and you can succeed!

Welcome Lissa. I am in the process of getting re-started. There are plenty of our Spark teammates that never seem to fall offtrack for more than two days in a row. So, please focus on whichever thought gives you the most encouragement. I have made a lot of changes in my lifestyle, but I plan to be considerably more consistent in my exercise and nutrition tracking. Please don't get overwhelmed by all that SparkPeople has to offer. You learn what's valuable to you, when you're ready for it. Still, I do recommend the site's expert articles on 'goal-setting' and motivation, in addition to all the nutrition and exercise information. Enjoy, it is likely that you are making changes that you'll learn to love. Remember, lifestyle changes not deprivation dieting.

Hello I am Lissa and I am not new to sparkPeople but I am new to this challenge. I have gone way to long with the attitude oh the weight will fall off someday. Well here recently my childhood best friend of 24 years passed away and this totally turned my life upside down and I started thinking wow how things can really change over night I knew this but when someone close to you passes I think it makes you realize it even more. So my goals are to live a healthier life and learn to exercise more which I have been doing the Xbox sports with my girls and husband and its a workout. I would also like to get my husband on the right track to so this is a goal also...
