I am not considered diabetic, but my Poppo is. Both my parents and my hubby and I are moving to Florida in October. Our houses will be built next to each other. It will be a stressful time for him. I figure this may be a good way for me to learn more about how to help him when help is needed and to lose weight myself. I'm hoping to lose a pound a week but will still do the " Happy Dance" just losing and not gaining.

I think your goals are probably about the same as most of ours!

The hardest part (for me at least) will be sticking with this for the long term.

I am new to SparkPeople and most of this.

My goals:
1) Lower my blood sugar to acceptable levels
2) Exercise 5 days a week
3) Lower my blood pressure
4) Have more energy
