Hi
I'm Cathy
Week 1, Day 2
Restarted
Goals
* Don't get caught up in the weight numbers
* Walk, walk, walk-exercise has always the part it find hardest to do
Really no excuse-retired and have small gym where I live
* Eat salad for at least one meal per day
Think I'll be in week one for a while -want to achieve all the goals

Anyone have a good cole slaw recipe

I seem to be off the grid today. I really must fix at least lunch the night before. Also I still have not started my exercise program, so I will be here for at least 1 more week till I get the exercise goals met. I have been tracking my food everyday and trying to make better choices, so that part is getting better. Also almost time for grocery shopping so I will be making more informed choices there.

Week 1 Day 2 - Busy day at work, but I was prepared with lunch and break. Before I would either skip any nutrition or run out to fast food place, eat in the car and rush back to work. I feel like this a real successful.

I am having a great deal of trouble evening out my food throughout the day. The right percentages of fat to carb to protein are eluding me as well. I am learning though.

I am just checking in - again for the umpteenth time.
But I am well along.
Today blood sugar 103 and my weight down to 83 kg (started at 96 and plateaued at 86 up until about a week ago.)
I also seem to be having less trouble falling asleep with the CPAP mask and I think I am beginning to see results. I woke up less often last night and woke up this AM feeling rested.

Week one, day 5.
I don't have internet access at all on weekends, but I was careful about foods. That exercise thing needs lots of work. Also had a couple of friends look over my goals. One friend is very healthy and keeps up with all the latest research and such, so I really wanted her opinions. Even she did not have anything to add to the goals, so I feel like I did a really good job there. I plan to start walking to and from work for the spring, summer, and fall. I will chat with a co-worker about rides home on days were I just might not feel well, or days with unexpected weather changes. The walk is 1.91 miles each way, so that would get me almost to the 10,000 recommended steps per day.

Week 1 -Day 5

I haven't checked my blood sugar today. I am feeling really down today. My mood is at a 1 or 2. Just do not feel like doing anything. I did get out a bit today. Got in some form of exercise. That is a plus. I have tracked my food every day. I am on a streak! Yay! On to day six. The week is almost up. I am trying to get into to see a doctor this week. I am thinking my diabetes meds need to be tweaked.

Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.

Decided to take this longer. I have a handle on menus and meal plans, but now I have to get into a comfortable exercise regime and stick to it attitude before I feel I can move on to step 2.

Week 1 Day 3 -

Today is a very dreary day. I really did not want to get out of bed. I made myself get motivated. I have successfully tracked my nutrition for three days. I have checked my blood sugar at least once per day every day so far. That is a record for me. I am heading out later to do some retail therapy and get in some exercise. Going out always puts me in a better mood.

Good for you! I was diagnosed with prediabetes quite awhile ago, but unlike you, I chose to ignore it. That's never a good idea! You are definitely on the right track with going for a new and improved healthier you emoticon . This diagnosis is reversed all the time with determination. Can't wait to see how you do!

Week 1 Day 2-

Blood sugar was 202 this morning! That is a definite improvement from yesterday! I checked two days in a row. That in itself is progress for me. In the past I would sometimes go all week and never check my blood sugar emoticon

Last night was not a good night for sleep. I only got around 6 hours. Today may require a nap later if I crash from lack of sleep. Although 6 hours is better than none at all. Today promises to be a pretty good day, except for the rain. This type of weather seems to dampen my mood.

Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.

Week 1 -Day1

Started the day out kinda rough. Blood sugar was 367 emoticon .

I will meet my calorie goals today. I will consume more than 8 (8 ounces) of water. Sounds good on here. I just hope I can meet these goals. emoticon

Update: I didn't meet all my nutrition goals, but I did meet most of them. I did drink more than 64 ounces of water.

I hope that I am not too late to join this challenge. I am a Type 2 Diabetic. I do not check my blood sugar regularly at all. My last A1C was 11.7. I am on a lot of meds including both pills and insulin. I want to lose weight and get rid of all this medicine! I am 33 years old but I feel like I am much older than that. I plan to start my plan tomorrow. I have an amazing support system now, whereas I did not before. I just hope I have the willpower to stick with it. Here I go again! emoticon

So it begins. Just diagnosed and this is my third day of having to test my blood sugar. I have not been on SP for over a year due to other illness, but am glad to start getting on track again. I find the Nutrition Planner so helpful at this time. Now, if I can just get into that exercise mode things would be looking up. Good luck on your goals everyone!

This is something I want to overcome. I use to log my food as a daily routine.

Day 6 - Still haven't been able to do any exercise this week. However logged all my food in and got practically all my waters in. Not too bad. Tomorrow will definitely do some exercise, and will continue to do so from now on. Except for the exercise, this first week I managed to do pretty well, and I;m proud of myself for sticking with it. Hope everyone is doing well.

Day 5. Still logging in everything I eat. Happy about that. Sugar readings are dropping, even happier about that!!! Working on getting in all the water and trying to start the exercise. I,m not going to lie, that's the worst part for me. Going to start with just 3 times per week with both some cardio and the bowflex. Every other day I will do just 15 minutes on the recumbent bike for my knees, and do my knee strengthening exercises, since I am so out of shape. Baby steps, and every little bit helps.
I've realized I can't change everything at once. It's not going to happen that way, so... one thing at a time until it all falls into place. Everything new change in the right direction is a good change in the long run. I just need to persevere!!!

Day3- Got caught off guard when I went to deliver hubby's lunch today and ended up out longer than planned and hungry so I had to get something quick before I got sick so I grabbed a sonic chicken wrap with no ranch and some tator tots. Was a ton of calories but I was able to adjust with super by having more salad than I normally would have. Sometimes the best laid plans right? Overall I feel pretty good about today and have a better plan in place for tomorrow. Need to make sure to get more exercise in tomorrow as well. emoticon

Day 2 Check in
I did get my activity in yesterday...10,000 steps, but did not start tracking yet.
I have been tracking but by mid afternoon just forget to do it. I need to remember
to finish what I start.

Day 5 paying more attention to food choices and water intake . Getting some tracking done this is a bad area for me I just do not track . Looking at food differently and doing better at getting it all together ,walking and excise is getting on track .

Day 2 for me. Made better choices for meals today but still having some hunger tonight. Have had a headache since 430 this am but pretty sure it is because I have not had any tea or coffee. Almost dreading tomorrow because I will be home and hubby and I usually go out for lunch on days I am home. My goal is to make better food choices while out.

Day 3 - Still hanging in there, logging all food in, but having some trouble getting all my water in. Also, having increased appetite which is not helping any. Having trouble staying close to the low end of my calorie intake. Anyone else having the same problem? Anyway, must persevere...it will get better.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means you've decided to overlook the imperfections.

Checking in week one day one. I am starting this challenge because I need something
to keep nudging me along the way. I am just borderline, and I do not want it to get where
I have to take meds.

Checking in Week 1 Day 1. Started this challenge because Diabetes runs in my family and I am finding that the older I get I am having issues with my levels, nothing documented by docs yet but just knowing how I feel and previous monitoring with a glucose monitor. Looking forward to walking this out and feeling better.
