Not too bad. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I did 10 minutes on the bike. Work out my upper body on the weight machines. Concluded with some stability ball abs exercise with some yoga stretching. Not bad for a Monday emoticon

Had a really crappy stressful day yesterday and still managed to get almost half an hour of cardio. I think I did it just to spite myself.. LMAO - but hey - whatever works!!!

Yesterday at church was the bake sale for the ladies of the church. And got some healthy treats but also some bad ones. Today is a new day and will do better today. emoticon

My triceps hurt today. Because of all the wall pushups (close arm) that I did yesterday. I'm happy about it. It means I actually using those muscles and burning the fat around them. I looked at an old picture of myself - it was before I got to Spark and while my elbows are almost hidden, you can tell they are nearly buried under fat on my upper arms. (Actually you can only see one.) However, now, I can see that I've lost a lot of weight in my arms, too, and so I'm happy. I really didn't want the back of my upper arm touching the back of my lower arm when my hands were down by my hips. I didn't think I would ever get rid of those fat pockets, but they are melting. emoticon

Yesterday was great. Stayed under my calorie count, and did 20 minutes of Zumba after church. emoticon Today I am increasing my daily exercise to 30-45 minutes a day. Most likely 20 of Zumba and 10-25 of walking at the park in front of my house. emoticon

Done with day 4. Had a great workout on the treadmill. Went over my calories though by about 150 but I was able to say no to an ice cream sundae. Could have been a lot worse this being superbowl Sunday.

Week 1 - Day 3 - Changed up exercise today and went for a walk after lunch. Still need to ride on my recumbent bike. I'll get it done during the Super Bowl. My blood sugar was up a little today, but that was because I had too many carbs yesterday. Really need to get my carbs under control. Still working on that.

Moving along well. I like the exercise, although its difficult and a little over my capabilities, but I substitute where needed and keep moving. I am putting it in my schedule so I get it done first thing everyday. First, walk, then the 8-Week Diabetes Weight Loss Challenge Workout, then on with my day. It'll be like going to work or some appointment, but it will get done everyday.

Week 1 Day 3. I am doing well with the diet. I still have days when I can't eat enough calories to lose weight. I am struggling with finding exercises to do with 2 different joint issues. Not being able to put any pressure on the shoulder limits what I can do. I will find the right one! My numbers have been stable this week so far. I would like them lower but I will take stable for now.

Just found out we were supposed to check in daily. I joined the team late in the evening on 1/31, so yesterday was my full first day. My blood sugar is really responding to the diet and exercise. I'm riding for 30 minutes in the morning on my recumbent bike and trying to take a walk in the afternoon. Also staying within my calorie range has not been a problem. For the month of January I lost about 10 pounds and my blood sugar went from around 150 down to 92 this morning. I'm really proud of that! That gives me the encouragement to continue.

I just did day 3 with the workout video with the strengthening exercises. I am really struggling with the chair dips. My abs are not used to doing anything but hanging out. I am doing the leg lifts longer trying to get them a little more strengthened. I have had 4 days within my calorie range. This is something that takes me a while each time the calorie levels drop. I am working through it ever so slowly. I am afraid of the scale. I don't feel like I am losing. I am staying off it for now.

I finished week 1 and was able to drink my water everyday and kept within my calorie limit 6 out of 7 days but didn't exercise enough so in week 2 I am focusing on exercising more. Overall I feel good and lost some weight so I am on the right track. I am cooking ham and beans in my crockpot for supper tonight so I won't have to worry about "what's for supper". Have a great weekend everyone and feel good about yourself. Lynne

TGIF to everyone. Just got done doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and worked on my upper body on the machines. Then did some ab exercises on the stability ball. Then completed with some yoga stretching. I had me an apple with peanut butter and some yogurt for lunch. And later hope to do some cleaning around the house to complete my exercise minutes. But work come first.

Today I will do 30 min. on the exercise bike and 20 min. of yoga poses. I did really well on the calorie range yesterday and I am planning to do it again today. It is bitter cold today. A great day for some soup. This will keep me going.

Yesterday I stayed on track with my nutrition and I did a 2 mile WATP dvd. The challenge is going well so far. Weigh in day is Friday and I'm down 3 pounds. So I'm pumped to keep going.

Yesterday was great! emoticon I met my calorie intake goal, and I did 40 minutes of high intensity cardio and burned 600 calories. emoticon My sugars were closer to normal than usual, and that is great news! emoticon About to take my daily vitamin, and my blood pressure medicine and do it again!!! emoticon

This is day 7 for me on SP...down 3#...tracking my food and doing great. Exercised tonight, didn't make it to the gym to swim, but did a DVD I had at home...been working up my water intake, so far I am up to 5 glasses daily....going for 6 tomorrow!!

Week 1, Day 1

Tracked my food and stayed within my calorie limit.
Used my Walks of Life walking video twice, for a total of 4 miles today.
Trying to drink more water...only 32 oz so far, but trying to reach 64 oz. daily.

I am pre-diabetic and need help finding menus so I can learn what portions of which foods I should be eating at different times throughout the day.

I have been working on this for a while. Salad before or part of the meal keeps carbs down. I make open faced sandwiches. Baked Potato is not complete junk food. Laundry is up and down stairs I have been hanging most of it , hats lifting. Shopping for deals makes me walk the whole store. Farmers market is my Wednesday

Day 4 week 1. Things are going good. Dec. I found out I was a border line diabetic. The news really kept me from over doing it around the holidays, but now this eating thing is getting old. Exercise really helps to cut my craving and I lost 1 pound emoticon

Day 1 for me. Got back from PT for my shoulder and walked the dogs outside. Cooooold! Will be finishing up my walk on the treadmill after I get things set and eat lunch.

week one, day one for me. last time I saw the doc, I was pre-diabetic. sugar inching higher and higher. and what do I do---well, it seems I have something very sugary almost daily--since the holidays. the scale has inched up too--and I have to do something NOW! esp. b/c it's time to have my bloodwork done again, and I'm so, so worried that it will show that my sugar is in the danger zone!! I know exercise is key. I'm doing my 10/15 tonight!! for sure!! and I'm going to try to track my food right now. so toodles! and good luck to everyone!!!!!!!

Week one, this is day 4. So far so good, I'm using the resistance band workout. I know I am not able to do some of the moves in the recommended video for the first week due to hip issues. Maybe by the end of the challenge I will be able to do it.

But I am enjoying the challenge, I feel really great even after only 3 complete days.
