My parents had a treadmill, but they sold it awhile ago. I belong to the Y though and I'm going 3x a week "no excuses" (the exception being if I'm bedridden with illness, which happens never). It'll be crowded when I go on Wednesdays after class, but on Fridays and Sundays I'll go early enough in the day (around 11) that there are plenty of treadmills at my disposal. :) Excited to do my 3.3 for 3 minutes / 4.3 for 2 minutes and seeing if I can do 4.3 for 3 minutes a couple of the times.

I'm saddened because my treadmill hasn't been delivered yet and yesterday I had to skip my walk/run due to rain and hail. Hopefully today will be clear so I can go out tonight.

Wasn't quite ready for the step up (aka running) but I also thought I could do a little more than day 1/week 1 of this plan so...

I did a 30 minute workout with a slight incline (2.5) - walked 3.3 (which is somewhat brisk for me, I'm short) for 3 minutes and jogged 4.3 for 2 minutes. Definitely felt like I worked myself pretty hard. I'm going to do this regimen the next two gym days and see how I feel about upping it slightly. :)

My first day was yesterday.
I've decided that I'd do the whole 5 K and keep practicing the distance instead of the 25 minutes like described in the plan.
Since I'm just coming out of a cold I took it easy and walked on a treadmill, with just two turns of jogging. Gonna increase it tomorrow when it's time for my second day on this program. :)

I don't know about all of you guys but my back and abs hurt after doing this yesterday. I've been really surprised that when I jog at all my abs hurt the next day. And I hate the feeling of my fat rolls jiggling around while I'm running!!! But soon they will melt away! Yay! emoticon

I pushed myself more today on my 1.7mile run/walk. I shed 5 min from my first run. YIPPEE!!!

I just completed my first walk/jog for week 1! Yay! It actually felt great to run. I found that it also caused my walk speed to increase because the walking seemed so slow after coming down from a jog. So, first day report: success!

Michelle, patience grasshopper! Running does not come to a beginner quickly as the body has to adapt to the rigors of running. I promise you that if you stick with it and be patiendt, you will come to enjoy so many accomplishments. If you want to see how I have progressed from being a non-runner until June 2009, just come over to my SPage and see what I have done. You can do it too!!!

Yesterday was my day one. I didn't do as well as I'd like. My lungs felt like they were on fire. It was like I smoked 2 packs a day. I quit for a 6 yrs and started again for 2. I finally quit for good this past Sept 12th. I'm not giving up tomorrow will be my day 2. Todays plan is to walk my route that I did yesterday. I have my dad helping me get ready to be able to run my first race ever and we will run it together.
