I go to bed on time at least 5 out of 7 nights. Some nights I have company overnight so up later talking. Without company I go to bed on time.
I need to do a list for the next day in the afternoon so not to keep me up thinking about it.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

illness sucks. my dh and i have a bug. neither of us are sleeping very well. we tried napping this week but even that was not very helpful. i think i zoned out too much on sunday. i was starting to get sick and did not do any light exercise or stretching. i am also horrible about meal planning on weekends so my nutrition is not very disciplined. not eating right also messes with my sleep

The biggst challenge i am having now is living with a person who struggles to go to bed on time. so lights are on and min-issues come up when i am trying to mentally shut down. draining dh to activly work for sleep is the next challenge

I will start a constant night time routine to help my sleep pattern so I will be more alert in the morning, also if I do too little I will not sleep because my body is not tired enough. It was too hot to sleep well the past 3 months, cooler now with fall weather,so that will help me sleep!

This is the first week after completing the challenge; Seems like the challenge really helped me make this significant improvement in my life; I am on the fifth days of week five and so far I was able to get 6 hours sleep for 3 out of 4 nights. emoticon Amazing how I learned so much about the simplest thing in my life during the challenge. I have let the pressure of life with busy work and family schedules got to me and affected my sleep. Simple adjustment that I made as listed below helped me achieved my goal:
- eat breakfast, lunch and dinner - made adjustment that I will eat these three meals before my 7:30PM fitness class definitely helped me; used to eat dinner late - hungry after workout and ate something that keep me awake
- Set time for bed regardless of how busy I am - made adjustment to how much office work I did at night when I came back from fitness class - used to stay up every night to finish up work
- Drink water only; at night - no more tea or any caffeine drinks at night

These 3 simple but challenging adjustments not only gave me my 6 hours sleep but also helped me lost the stubborn 5 pounds that was lingering around for months.

I feel emoticon and from now on I stick to my set time for bed and no longer working from home every night. Still do it but not every night emoticon

From now on I am going to focus on getting 6 hours sleep at least 5 nights a week and hopefully in 3 months, I will challenge myself to see if I can try to get 7 hours sleep. slowly but surely, trying to achieve recommended 8!

So, for any new members striving to get some emoticon like I was - one piece of advice - "be willing to make changes" - start small and you will get there emoticon
