It is hard to live on irregular schedules! I tried the sleep journal as recommended and it does help.

Pain and illness can play havoc with your sleep. If you have either of these or worked out really hard try and get to sleep earlier than normal it will help tremendously!

How long have you been on this schedule? If it's just a short while, you may need time to adjust. If it's a long while then you may just need to be a night sleeper and need something to keep you awake. Music, happy thoughts, dancing, fresh fruit, gum, bright lights and then when it's time to sleep, all the opposites until your body gets used to the change.

Good luck

Well, I actually don't have a problem sleeping during the day; the problem is that I'm tired all the time and can't seem to stay awake all day when I'm supposed to.

I agree....the darker the room and cooler, the better. I wear a sleep mask sometimes too if I have a window open and the blind is open too. Also to keep noise to a minimum, wear silicone ear plug. Mac makes a really good one.....can be bought at Walgreens. Best wishes to you!!

Barbara .....that's what my friends call me! Never cared for the name Barb.

Make it a blessed and healthy day! IT IS YOUR CHOICE!

While you can't make your schedule more regular, you can establish a regular ritual for going to bed that puts you in the right mind-set for going to sleep.
Also: when you have to sleep during the day, make sure your bedroom is as dark as possible. Blackout drapes and window shades are a godsend in this situation.

Hi all,

I completed the challenge and was doing great--then my work schedule changed. Now I work 4am-12 Monday and Tuesday, while still working as late as 10:30pm Thursday-Saturday. What can I do to get the most restful sleep in this situation?

Thanks!
