I am just getting back into working out. I need to lose weight and get in better physical condition for my upcoming fire academy. I am doing a routine that has worked well for me in the past. Mostly eating right, tracking food, and cardio (elliptical) so far. I will add weights and swimming in the near future. Good luck everyone!!

Changed my routine for 2014, tracking miles, just to see what I can do instead of worrying about minutes or favorites. My goal has been 10 miles of walking per week, but never have tracked it.
Even though some hikes have been quite long, I was only counting the minutes.
So with week one of 2014 I almost made the 10 miles. Need to kick it up a bit more.
Go for it.

Resting on Veterans Day after a very long and difficult hike yesterday. Distance was 10.82 miles for about 6 hours of moving time exercise. Looking for some more hikes in the future.

Got off my fat Duff and hit the recumbent bike for 15 minutes this morning. Getting exercise is easy one you get started. But sometimes the start button is so hard to find. emoticon

After some minor health issues I'm finally getting back on track and doing about 10 miles a week of walking in the hood. Have a big big hike planned on Nov. 10, its about an 11 mile hike, and I'm looking forward to it.

Well now that I have reached the golden age of 66. Tis time to get back on track, its been just too hot this summer in AZ to do much.
So yesterday I did a small walk for 30 minutes, and finally dusted off my recumbent bike and did 15 minutes this morning.
Now its time to go to work, and there will be some exercise after work.

Going thru a slump right now. When temps are in the triple digits its too hot to even walk down to the gym at the complex where I live. And when its in the 90's in the A.M its also to hot to use the recumbent bike that is just gathering dust on my patio. Looking forward to fall and hiking season.

Enjoying the 2012 Jumpstart challenge and a challenge on my western Colorado team. Not quite like battalion runs and "8-count-burpees" but easier on this old bod!

Enjoying the journey.....

My marathon is October 30th in Washington, DC. I've been sort-of-training for it for the last year, but I am now officially in "stick with your structured training schedule" mode until the race.
