Going to keep my daily goal at 13,000. This was my goal last week and I made my weekly total by more than 10,000. Yey! However, I was just under my daily goals on two days because of a staff meeting and funeral. So, I'm going to see how 13,000/day works for me this week. I work only two days this week, so I'm hoping with the nice weather, the support from my family and MOTIVATION the 13,000 will be conquered every day!!

I'm going to give myself a goal of 5K per day, 35K for the week. This is new for me. I'm on vacation. Usually during vacation, I set no goal, laze around and lose all my Spark and FitBit standings. I want to keep my 10 minutes per day exercise streak going since I just lost it due to illness a few weeks ago.

I took a break for a couple of week from posting here but would like to rejoin!

My goal is to average at least 6000 steps daily, over the 7-day period. I've been getting out more lately and feeling good about it. I finish up radiation for breast cancer this Wednesday - woo hoo! That will free up some time every afternoon. I've been going daily for almost 7 weeks now.

I am going to keep my daily goal to 27,000 steps per day and keep my weekly goal to 200,000. I will now track my total Active Time. My goal is to keep it above 7 hours daily. I will also be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

DOING SO WILL KEEP THIS THREAD MANAGEABLE AND ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRACK EACH MEMBER'S DAILY PROGRESS.

An easy way to find your initial entry is to hold down the CTRL key and your F key. This will bring up your FIND box. Enter your SparkName and hit enter. This will take you to your first entry. Click on the EDIT MY POST button and add your steps for that day. Then just click on the POST MESSAGE button and you have edited your entry! If you have any questions/comments please send me a SparkMail. emoticon again!

A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN USING THE EDIT BUTTON WHEN YOU POST!!! I continue to be very impressed by your daily steps! emoticon

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that you accomplish your goals this week. I WOULD LOVE TO GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED THIS THREAD THIS PAST WEEK! We were 29 strong this past week!! That is an increase of six from last week! I continue to be amazed at your step counts, all of you should be very proud of yourselves!

We are still #1 in the Computer & Electronics category?! That is amazing! As of the posting of this post, we are now at 39,548 members strong! That is (continue with a drum roll please!) 459 more than last week! That is an increase of 25 members from last week. With the announcement of the new FitBit devices (note our new team logo!) our team numbers have literally exploded! I anticipated that our numbers would continue to increase in January but we are now in March and the membership rolls continue to be impressive! We have now burst through the 39,000 mark and now we are aiming for 40,000!!! emoticon Wow!

emoticon Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

I am going to run with this comment for another week....
I read so much chatter about FitBit's new wrist activity products. Some good, some not so good. I am interested in obtaining one and comparing it's readings to my trusty One. I wonder how they would compare. I would love to know which FitBit product you are currently using.

I am going to run with this comment for another week....
(Stepping up to my soap box....)
I have read a few comments on the message board from team members concerned that FitBit is sending over too many activity minutes to their SparkPeople Fitness Page. I respond to these posts by pointing out that FB syncs over FAIRLY ACTIVE and VERY ACTIVE minutes. These are periods of sustained activity (approximately 15 minutes) where (in my case) more than 500 steps are taken (MODERATELY ACTIVE) or more than 2,000 steps are taken (VERY ACTIVE) are registered by your FB. While all of these periods may not be "exercise" by definition they are periods of sustained movement and consequently result in a higher burned calorie rate. I point out that this is the beauty of this wonderful device. Not only does it count steps but it provides a wonderful picture of the amount of calories your are burning on a daily basis as a result of your whole day's activity. I realize this may be thought as "cheating" but it really is not. You are moving, you are burning calories, and that is an important component of losing weight/maintaining a weight loss.
(OK, stepping off my soap box!)

All readings courtesy of my ONE:

03/29: 31,527 (VAM: 2-Active Time: 8:27-Floors: 0)
03/30: 30,089 (VAM: 10-Active Time: 7:37-Floors: 2)
03/31: 30,062 (VAM: 32-Active Time: 7:22-Floors: 5)
04/01: 30,082 (VAM: 17-Active Time: 7:46-Floors: 5)
04/02: 31,318 (VAM: 41-Active Time: 7:40-Floors: 6)
04/03: 26,307 (VAM: 9-Active Time: 6:40-Floors: 5)
04/04: 30,139 (VAM: 70-Active Time: 9:00-Floors: 5)

Glad this week is over! This past week I took a total of 209,525 steps for a daily average step count of 29,932. I totaled 181 VAMs or 25 VAMs per day. I was active for 54:32 for a daily average of 7:47 and I climbed a total of 28 floors. Next week will be better, I PROMISE!
