Same here. Everything I do is through an app anymore. I do have a home gym and it’s slowly becoming my happy place. No tv, no phone. Not for calls anyway, just me and Spotify.

Same as you, I want to feel better. I’ve had chronic insomnia for over a decade now and I want off sleep meds. I’m hoping physically and mentally exhausting my body will do the trick.

I want to do this. I NEED to do this.

Man, it's hard to consider "off the grid" time for me. I read, but more often than not these days it's in e-book form. And meal planning has a lot to do with finding recipes online or in apps. I do spin class, but that's only twice a week... I'm working on adding more gym visits to my schedule.

My why... I just want to feel good. I have 2 herniated disks and the extra weight isn't helping my pain level. But I have noticed less pain since I started visiting the gym regularly, so that makes me happy (even though the weight loss is actually slow go).

We’re starting over and starting today! Today is Friday. With the weekend already here, I want to know what you have going on. Are you running errands? How about visiting family or friends? Maybe you have a concert or game to attend. Is there a birthday to be celebrated? How about tons of laundry or winter prep yard work?

Here’s what I want you to do this weekend after all the manontenous tasks have been done and the fun times have been had. I want you to take 10 minutes and think about why you are here. Why are YOU here? Not the family but you. What is setting you on this journey? Let’s be real... a healthy lifestyle is a journey and a journey always has a starting point. Something happens, we realize something, we see something. There is always a “something” that puts us on a journey. For me, it was the “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad......picture”. Yep. The dreaded, don’t let anyone see it ever picture.

I want you to think about your “something” and then........ give yourself a pat on the back. Toot your own horn. Do a happy dance. Tell yourself you are the best. Why? Because no matter what your “something” is, a health scare, a glance in a mirror, bathing suit shopping, a 20 minute climb up 2 stairs, that bleeping picture, you ultimately told yourself you are worth more. Even better, you decided to bring the family along for the ride.

I also want you to think about how you are, could, or will fit in 30 minutes of what we girls in my house call “off the grid” time every day. No phones, tv, iPads, etc. What do you do? Talk, meal plan, workout, play a game. Bring your ideas here and let’s discuss them. If someone is struggling to fit in a 30 minute slot, let’s help them find a hole in the day to fill it. If you have a hard time getting the kids to join in, let’s figure out ways to get them onboard. Let’s offer advice and tips to GET. IT. DONE. Are you with me?

I want to do this. I NEED to do this.
