I need to go back to the basics, but right now I am struggling so badly I can't even start again... I think my goal for right now is to not be as hard on myself about all this.....

Well it's been day 4 (or is it night) and I haven't even started the sleep journal so that is first on my list.
2. No TV and no iPads after 10pm - this means recording favourite programmes to watch at a more convenient time.
3. Make sure my toddler's sleep routine is set so that she's asleep when I'm asleep ie she can only have one hr nap during day. Unfortunately she slept for 2 hrs today and she sabotaged my efforts to sleep early. Now she's asleep but I'm wide awake. Hence on iPad at 12.11am!

My challenge goals for a better night's sleep are to stop using technology by 9:30 pm and have my light turned off by 10:30 pm. Shades will be pulled to avoid extra light coming in from the neighborhood.

I have chronic pain so I never sleep a full night. My goals are to go to bed at a regular bedtime...10 to 10:30 and wake at 8:30 at the latest. I have always needed a lot of sleep so that allows me 10 full hours. For the waking up part I am not sure what I can do. Right now I am trying to get back to sleep as soon I am done going potty or letting the dogs out. Maybe I will learn how to sleep all night through this challenge:)

6 sometimes 7 days a week my hubby has to work, so our wake time is 5am. My struggle is getting everything completed before bedtime, which should be earlier than it has been (10:30). My goal is to start tomorrow with an after school schedule and try to stick to it all week. I feel my best when I get to bed by 9. We shall see. :0)

After writing in my sleep journal for a few days, I realized that maybe I was focusing on the wrong issues. Since I work from home, my schedule is really up to me. So Instead of concentrating on an earlier bedtime (which I never seem to be able to stick to), I am going to concentrate on a consistent earlier wake time and ten minutes of sunlight exposure. Hopefully, this will reset my circadian rhythm and I will be tired and ready for bed earlier. I'll keep track in my journal and see how this works out. And just keep experimenting until I get the results I want.

My week one goal is to GO TO BED! I usually fall asleep on the couch and wake up around 3:00 AM to go to bed! UGH. So I need to go to bed when I usually lay on couch and get comfy.

I joined the challenge because I always seem to be exhausted. I have a really rough time falling asleep sometimes. And also because I have so little energy when I am exhausted that I can't do what needs to be done in life.

My goals for the challenge as a whole are to develop a regular sleeping schedule and to get 8 hours of sleep a night. And to no longer be a slave to being a night owl.

For this coming week...
1. I want to go to bed by 11 pm at least three nights this week.
2. And to go with that I want to wake up by 7 am the following mornings.
3. Get in my workout and reading earlier in the day, 5 times this week, so that I don't have to stay up to do them before bed.

Good luck to everyone doing the challenge! And sweet dreams!

My goal is to stay as close to my sleep pattern as I can while traveling. I am naturally an early bird for getting up. When connecting points run beyond adjustments need to be made.

While I have complained about the insomnia for years, I am finally ready to really try and do something about it. My goal is to practice good sleep hygiene- turn off the screens an hour before bed, etc. The screens are my worst hurdle, but I am ready to do whatever it takes to improve my sleep.

I joined because I need to start getting more rest.

My goal for this challenge is to start getting to bed by 11:00pm and getting up by 6:30am.

I would like to learn to be a morning exerciser and to do that I will have to be up no later than 6:30 in order to leave on time for work. emoticon

I have a o-streak..on 8hrs. of sleep..about the only time I could get 8hrs. is on the wkend...and I don't want to waste my wkends sleeping so I usually don't get it then either...I need to set a time and stick with it to goto bed..getting up is easy...it's getting to bed on time..and if I try to goto bed at 10..I find myself flipping and flopping until 12am...and I feel so disgusted at wasting that time I could have used...I'm going to take it slow...15min. earlier a wk. until I can get to bed by 10pm...something I haven't done since I was a teenager..some time ago...but I believe the body..and the mind can be tricked..and if that's what it takes..so be..it...I'll be my own guinea pig..I know I need the 8hrs. to loose wt..consistently.it's just getting there that is the problem..rico emoticon emoticon .

I don't have a problem falling asleep or staying asleep. I wake up at 5:30am every morning no matter what time I go to bed. I really need to get ready for bed at 9pm and be in bed by 10pm.

Goals
1) Set a sleep routine to begin at 9pm
2) Be in bed by 10pm

I noticed that I have very little issue going to bed at the same time every night. It is staying asleep or getting right up at the same time every day when the alarm goes off.

I haven't been sleeping well as of late- I go to bed too early and wake up several times throughout the night (my cat wanting out at 3am doesn't help much either!). I am finding myself tired and worn out by early afternoon- my motivation has certainly been lacking! I joined this challenge to set better sleep habits and get more of a peaceful night's sleep!

God is good- no matter what!

I have not had computer for a lil while but a lot has been going on and it has made it even harder yet for me to sleep. Beginning of October I quit my job. Spent 20 wonderful days with family and now moved to Egypt. 8 hour difference with Minnesota but I had always worked nights and slept days do to my job. I had thought the move would have been easy on my sleep patternsbutin turn it has gotten even worse.I cannot seem to fall asleep until about 4 am. I have been trying to go to bed around 11-12 but I just toss and turn.I am finding that once I get to sleep I seem to get enough sleep but by 6pm I need a nap. I do not let myself nap or I cannot get to sleep even by 4 am. Any suggestions?
