It has felt great to know that I have worked out for at least 10 mins each day over the past 3 weeks! This has given me motivation to keep going once this challenge is over. I have been doing the 28 day Bootcamp Workout DVD and over the past 3 weeks and am proud that I have been able to stick with something for so long. This week, I have been trying to play Dance Central 2 most nights of the week in addition to my morning workout as a fun way to get off the couch with my husband in the evenings. emoticon

My week 3 wasn interesting as I was ill with my ear infection. I was able to do some exercises, however, and have worked on increasing my fitness time to at least 1 hr. a day doing different things, I look forward to next week now!

Things definitely get easier the longer and more often you do it. It may be a simple achievement, but I am able to put a couple 4.5 mph 60 second burst into my treadmill routine. A week ago I could barely stay steady at 3.7 mph. I may not be seeing number results ( I no longer weigh myself) , but I know my body thanks me for trying to get healthy.

I'm finished with week 3 and moving on to week 4. I haven't had much in the weight lose area but have got up and moved. I am finding that I really like doing the exercises, so that is a good thing. I added the 10 minute boot camp this week and it is great.
Good luck everyone.

Gramdkg, Hugs! I know how you feel because I was on a plateau for several agonizing weeks and I was doing 60 min a day exercise and staying low on calories.

Muscle weighs more than fat so you could be losing fat but gaining muscle which is a good thing.
I read to break a plateau to ether eat less or increase exercise. I started trying to keep my body guessing and eat different amounts each day and try to vary my exercise routine up to.

I lost 2 pounds today! I hope this helps. You can do it! emoticon

Are you drinking your 8 cups of water, and getting about 8 hours
of sleep, at night ? The important thing is to keep trying !
Your idea of getting more exercise, is a good one !

I'm in week 3 and a little down in the dumps. I have got in a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise every day, but am on a plateau with the weight lose. Been stuck at the same weight since I started doing more exercise. Hoping this week is going to be better. Guess I will try adding some more activity and see if that helps.

Yes- despite working an up & down schedule and even having to double back one day to work morning then evening I got the 10 minutes in each day. Most of the time it was over 10 minutes, but yesterday I was really feeling the crazy sleep pattern and decided to do 10 minutes of upper body strength exercises while sitting on my stability ball and used my 5 lb. weights as I watched a tv show with my husband. I kept wanting to let some excuse take over but I thought- I am on such a great streak why blow it?

Crazy that although I am moving a lot more than my goal, I still wasn't losing weight. Until the trainer at the YMCa told me to eat MORE! And finally, slowly it is starting to come off.

heading into week 3 and doing good so far. Using the walk/jog training program is keeping me active outdoors and paying attention to my work schedule & the weather to insure I get the workouts in. I LOVE using either the Fit,Firm, & Fired Up! dvd or the SP generated strength workouts to insure I get that in during the week. Pretty excited that I did my dusty yoga dvd the other morning. Usually when I have to work mornings I am scrambling about for myself, the house, and my son. So working last night gave me the opportunity to check on how my balance & yoga moves are doing since they've been out of action.
Today's plan for cross training is to go for a 2 mile walk, just walking and then maybe 20 minutes on the elliptical. I hope to use a SP generated core workout for strength tonight.

I am doing pretty good this week. I am trying so hard to get myself moving for at least 10 minutes even when my butt wants to stay stuck to the couch. Not sure if I am going to be successful entirely for everyday. But I am making improvement and that is fabu!

Chrissy, there was no chocolate consumption here because we were both sick for Valentine's Day! But I have missed a few days just because of being SO SICK. Two weeks, hubs and I were sick, but I think I'm really recovering this time. Hope to be back on my regular schedule and not just 10 minute workouts by Monday!

I've been doing great with the challenge. Haven't missed a day. I do only make myself exercise for 10 minutes. Not JUST 10 minutes but I can stop after 10 minutes if I like.
I'm not aiming for weight loss. Aiming to make moving my body everyday a habit and this challenge is great for that.
I've also gotten a few gentle nudges in the right direction from the action steps for each week. I have started parking at the far end of parking lots, walking instead of driving and making fitness more fun. My date night is tonight and we are going bowling instead of going to a movie, and Mr. Barb is going to teach me to ice skate! I have always wanted to know how to ice skate.

OK. Who else had to double step it in their workouts yesterday because of over consumption of chocolate? I have to raise my hand LOL. Well did fast walking last night to burn extra calories and pacing my self on my chocolate filled heart--I can do this, chocolate is a part of life, its there, so I am going to master its! So far I have completed everyday except for yesterday. I had a massive migraine. But overall I dropped 2.2 pounds, and I am happy with that. So I am going to keep this up and hopefully keep seeing progress throughout the upcoming weeks. I was stuck on a plateau for about 3 weeks. So I'm very excited I over came that. Good job to me, and everyone else;-)

Been doing fine with the 10 minute challenge. I have gotten in (except with one sick day) 30_45 minutes on treadmill each day. Today I went and did firewood collection around the property and pushed a wheelbarrow full of wood up a steep hill, was really sweating by then! I still am going to do 30 on treadmill just to stay focused.

Hello everyone! I didn't do very well for my 3rd week so I am going to do it over. I only walked on the treadmill once all week. So I am motivated to start again. I am glad to see everryone is doing so well for themselves it gives me great motivation.

Got to keep moving forward! When you find yourself moving backward stop, reflect a moment then take a step forward again!

After three weeks of the 10-minute challenge I find that my FIRST ten minutes have lead me to many, many more. That is what I love about this challenge and this site. I have exercised not less than 1 hour each day of the past three weeks, and I'm really loving it! I feel like I can keep this up indefinitely!

Thank you for getting me started!

I love the 10 minute challenge. After I do 10 min I usually want to keep going. Even on those not so motivated days. Remembering to fit in at least 10 min a day is easier and better than not doing anything at all. I always feel good that I at least did something :)

Week 3 has been better than 2 when I went away for a short break. Managing exercise most days, and yesterday I increased to 15 minutes instead of 10. Very happy about this.

I have new sneakers and the treadmill walking pain has greatly diminshed. I have hope that i will eventually be able to exercise consistently without having to report every day. No loss this week but that's fine, I'm sure I put on a bit last week, so evened up. I'm not in a hurry I want a steady loss not a fast one.
Life is good.

If i'm feeling unmotivated, I go online shopping for bikini swimsuits lol. I don't know if I'll ever be able to wear one with confidence, but the thought of wearing one this summer reeaaallly motivates me to get going. Whenever you can, try to fit in some jumping jacks and once that gets boring, pretend like your jump roping. It'll at least get your heart rate up some and may end up motivating you to do a full work out. But even just jumping jacks is better than nothing at all.

Sadly, I failed week 3 the first time around, so I have restarted it. Wedneday (day 1), I did an hour or so of housework (washing dishes by hand, doing laundry - hanging clothes on line, sweeping the floors). Day 2, I did 20 minutes of strength and cardio mixture, and today I did a 20 minute cardio workout I found on Fitness magazine's website.

I am glad that I have worked out so far this week, but I really hope that my mojo will come back soon, because I just don't have the desire right now. Not sure what it is, but I am hopeful for a turn-around. emoticon

I am having a rough week..... My 4 month old has decided that sleeping is no longer necessary so I haven't slept for more than 4 hours a night since Sunday... Its really hard to convince myself to workout when I am so exausted.... Any ideas how to get motivated?

I have been switching between 20-30 minute Jillian Michaels dvds for my workouts. They're fun and I'm definitely seeing changes in my body! :D

I have made some tapes with fast and slow songs on them and they are all mixed up. I walk to the beat of the music. Each of the songs are two to three minutes long. My doctor don't want me to walk fast longer than 3 minutes. emoticon

I loved this week. I worked out every day and I did one SparkPeople video for my strength workout and about 30 - 45 minutes of aerobics workout. And I started to look for opportunities to burn calories on every step. For example I'm a scouts leader and I figured that our meetings can be a great workout. :)

And on top of that, I decided to get skiing lessons next week. :)

I joined the Upper Ottawa Valley Rugby Club and I'm getting back into shape to play rugby this summer. I can't wait! I've missed this sport terribly!

Day 3 of week 3...Day 1, didn't exercise :( Day 2, did 20 minutes of what I call fit training (a combo of cardio and strength training) I am happy with this workout because it was at the very end of my day, when I usually have the least motivation. I couldn't work out before I went to work, but I knew I needed to do something. I made myself work out when I got home from work at 11 pm. If I wasn't able to tell myself that I only had to put in 10 minutes, I am sure I would have foregone the workout, but then I ended up with 20 minutes. Yay! Day 3, today, walked for 10 minutes this morning. I hope I can squeeze in something more before I hit the pillow tonight.
