I'm curious, just how many grams of fiber a day you consumed to lose so much weight? I too eat a lot of fiber, & try to focus on high protein and basically whole grains & produce but lately have not seen much weight loss. Struggling with the overall calories & still craving sweets when I get stressed. (Desserts backward lol)
Any other details would help me & others.

I start the day with fruit, then snack on fruit midday.
I ensure at least one serving of vegetable for both lunch & dinner.
always the eight glasses of water or crystal light.

Always trying to reach my fiber daily count, but haven't been consistent yet! Have been adding more fruits and veggies to the line up, & i just got me some fiber 1 treats too this wknd. Let's go sparkies!

I do allow myself 1 (and sometimes 2) little squares of the Dove Dark Chocolate almost every day. (One candy bar has 5 squares). I let it melt in my mouth and savor the flavors and it is heavenly........You have to find an eating plan that includes indulgences because it needs to be a forever way of life if the weight is going to stay off.

That is awesome, I too try to eat higher fibre foods and have been doing Body for Life for the last 7 weeks which encourages higher protein as well. I have lost some weight but not as much as I had hoped but am staying the course. How long did it take to lose the 140 lbs?

Those are very inspiring stories, especially since you have both kept the weight off for years! I may have to take a page out of your books. I have another 53 pounds to lose to get to a healthy weight. Any tips for getting started? Also, do you ever indulge in something sweet? (chocolate cake, coke, etc?)

I, too started eating healthy due to health concerns (in my case, high blood pressure) ---- and eating a diet high in fiber was part of my plan as well. (I also pushed for high protein, low sodium and low sugar). The end result: I lost 50 pounds that I have kept off for 4 years now and counting. When hungry, I also reach for filling high fiber snacks my favorites --- apples and oranges......

Over 3 years ago, I decided it was time to get my weight situation under control after losing my mother and brother 11 months apart to Heart Disease. I began by filling up on high fibre foods such as Fibre 1 bars, broccolli, caulifower, beans, salads, strawberry mini-wheats etc. I found that by eating high fibre foods, I filled up most quicker and didn't overeat. I made vegetables my side dish instead of eating french fries or pasta which also filled me up more quickly.

I snack on raw vegetables such as broccolli and cauliflower with low fat or fat free ranch dip instead of eating chips and dip. All of these high fibre foods have helped me lose over 140 pounds and keep it off over 2 years.
