Hi, I'm new to the team as of today, but just wanted to jump in on Monday's challenge. I had actually posted a blog yesterday titled, "God, Hockey, and March Goals." I listed my fitness and nutrition goals for this month. I didn't list my 5 motivators though. Hope it's okay to do that here.

1. Striving for good health
2. Want to regain control and self-confidence in myself.
3. Want to look good again for my DH
4. Want to look good again for me.
5. Want to go dancing in a slinky black dress on New Year's Eve 2010!

Thanks for suggesting that. With the exception of #5, I hadn't thought about what was really motivating me.

Apparently I can't successfully reply to your post, it won't accept my email confirmation emoticon but yes, we certainly can encourage each other using the Fit. I love it, got it just after the new year and have lost close to 15 lbs just doing step, boxing, hula-hoop and kung fu. Anytime you want or need motivation, just let me know. How about we start by being accountable for each other's daily Fit Age? Do you know what I'm talking about? Of course I'll have to let you know what mine was the next day. Because I do my workout at night and don't always get back online till the next day. Does this sound like a start to you DiMissy?

Well I am brand new, just signed up today. But I need all the help I can get, as do we all, right? What better way to start off a new month than to set some goals. One goal is to lose 5 lbs this month. That doesn't seem too hard, just a little over a pound a week, sounds reasonable. Second goal is to use my new Fit Plus at least 4 times a week, great for cardio, yoga, strength training and improving balance. Third is to incorporate more walking at work. Brought in some athletic shoes now I hope they don't just sit there. And now that I've found you guys, I plan on using SparkPeople for real support. Thanks for hearing me out. Hopefully I am doing this right, please let me know if I'm not.

Hi, I am new to Spark and this is my first msg here. Sorry to hear that you are in a depressing point right now. Hope you get back on track and that things get better for you. I too have been in your shoes and for me I just take it one day at a time and think of it as a life change and not a diet. Set small goals that can be achieved and never loose faith.

Ok, I posted my blog, but forgot to enter the 5 things that motivate me to keep going....
1. Seeing results
2. Friends and cheerleaders
3. Feeling better
4. Realizing I don't need to eat the fattening stuff to keep me going
5. The hardest person for me to satisfy is myself... looking in the mirror and seeing the difference is the biggest motivation and success story I can give!

I want to continue on my journey. 10 lbs is a great start, but I still have a distance to travel!

OK, posted my blog! Came here and saw that there were a lot more people in the same boat as me. I feel a little bit more empowered knowing, I am not the only one that slid downhill. Looking forward to giving and getting encouragement. We have to stick together!

Hi!

I am new to the group. I lost my extra weight several years ago, and did a good job keeping it off until last year. I tend to be a "stress eater", and last year was very stressful for me due to personal and business reasons. Now I have recommitted to losing the regained weight, starting on March 1. I started my blog today as well!

Today is March 1st and I am restarting again. I got on the treadmill this morning (3 miles). I just need to be consistent. I also am determined to keep posting my nutrition and keep track. I am really struggling. Although, I keep starting over I am not able to persevere. I feel defeated. I cannot let another year go by at this weight. I am uncomfortable. I have many events this year. I want to feel good in my own skin. I don't want to be looking for things to wear and feeling awful. I am sorry this is such a depressing message. I just need help. emoticon
