hello and cheers - - well i have managed to keep off 20 of the 35 pounds i had lost. i am determined more than ever to get to my goal weight in 2012.
i do notice how much more sensitive and harder it is - for instance- on monday i expected to be down at least 2 pounds - instead i was up five pounds. i said to myself - something is wrong here - i must not be feeling well and don't know it yet! sure enough tues wed and today - down with flu - headache and b.p up - way up.
so it is a set back - cause i am not one of those people that gets back to normal and then the scale co operates. when i feel better - i will be lucky if those five pounds are gone - but i still won't have lost anything. so that is how my journey usually goes and it is very difficult to accept all the time.
i find nothing shocks my system - not change in diet, or cutting out or cutting down certain things, no increasing my water - nothing.
cellulite is not 'plain old fat' - as a lot of the so called EXPERTS who do not have it - have said. it is a whole little toxic world unto itself - and heredity plays a BIG PART in it. even when i reach my goal weight, i will have these unusually large upper arms and thighs and lots of jiggle on the butt. believe me - all my life i have had every exercise= torture device - food and cleanse etc known to 'woman' and none of it works. i even paid a lot of money about five years ago for the newest thing - microwaves passed thru it - burned like hell and was very very uncomfortable. did nothing and i was out of pocket and big wad.
i know 'lets have some fun' is the by line - sorry - this wasn't .
but anyway - i am still trying - and so are you all - good luck to us. BB

I'm doing okay. Just started recently. Lost a few lbs so far but it is hard for me. I have a lot going on in my life. Some good and a lot bad. I just have to remember that I am lucky to have what I have and that is a roof over my head, food on the table, and a family that I love and loves me back. If it wasn't for my husband's parents I don't know where we would be. Maybe in a shelter. So because of all of this it is easy for me to fall back into bad habits. I have made some bad choices but for the most part I am still going.

I fell off my routine and gave up for several months then picked myself up and tried again but quit again! Came back even heavier then when I started out but this time It feels different! A motivation that I never had a desire that pushes me to stop and look at what I am eating before I put it in my mouth! I am now taking it day by day!

hey all - summer time coming to an end - far too soon as usual.
my journey is pretty consistent - five steps forward and two steps back - seems to be a pattern with me over the past couple of years. oh well, we need to all pat ourselves on the back and two thumbs up for our tenacity.
i will get back into my walking routine - after all i invested in a tread mill so even on bad days i can walk - and i am hoping to get a little group together.
i don't mind doing the 'mall walk' for fun once a week or so - (but then i spend money i don't have as i see all the sales going on).
since i moved i have found wardrobes ranging from 2-4 (in my dreams ever again!) thru to 14-16 which is what i am now. even coats - and boots .
so sure 'let's have some fun' - getting ready for Fall and all the colors, planning our regimen from now until the real holiday time starts - and with any luck - at least 20 pounds off before another new year is upon us. LET'S GO - emoticon emoticon

I am still here. Haven't lost or gained. Feel healthier. Been eating good, but have just tried to go Gluten Free, very difficult on this site. I have tried to substitute foods from the daily menu. I go to the gym 3 times a week and feel good about it. I know I have to kick it up a notch. Someday I will. Thanks for being here everyday. It makes me smile.

I am still here, didn't start seriously though until this year because I got fed up with yo-yo dieting. My New Year's resolution was to set goals and accomplish them, so for the last three weeks I have been tracking my foods and doing sitting exercises-low impact cardio and strength training. I am pleased to say I have lost 11 lbs. in three weeks, and am feeling great. So this year I am going to be a big loser, and a whole lot healthier and happier!

I started off with a bang, had a few setbacks during the fall but I'm still plugging along. Even though I found myself gaining back some of the weight I am still 15 lbs lighter than when I started last year. That makes me feel like it's a battle I can win, just in my own time and at my own pace. I'm glad I found Sparkpeople.

emoticon Still here! I can't believe it's almost a year! I did pretty good with a 10 lbs loss over the year: slow/ sure... but gained back all of the 10 lbs over the holidays. drats!!! SO, now it's back to basics, and start over. I'm trying to focus more on moving my body, as the dr encouraged that wehn i had my physical in dec. I'll be happy with reducing that 10 lb gain as well though.... I enjoy the msgs, and keep in touch!

I'm still here...getting ready to celebrate one year with SparkPeople, and I've lost 35 pounds. It took me a while to get started, so most of that progress took place between last May and now. But I'm still going. I gained some back during the last quarter of last year, but I've lost 15 pounds so far this year.

Congrats to all of you for still being here and changing your life for a healthier way of living!

I am still here too! With everything that life throws, I am surviving at my new life style and not getting sabotaged by various events for too long, and learning to bounce back quicker. I lost 59 lbs since I began last year in February. Yesterday I was 0.8 lb away from my goal, but I decided to lower my goal by 3 more lbs to give myself room for a weight range.
I hope I will reach it by my 1st year SparkVersary, but I dont set dates for my goals because Ive learned something about myself during last 11 months that I do not like pressure of not being able to achieve my goal by a certain day. I like to keep in mind my very conservative goals and then if I surpass them I get inspired by my own achievement.

Good luck to all!

Anna

Yep, I'm still here and likely to be here in 2012 the way things are going. I'll do well for a month or two and then I backslide on the eating right. I seem to be doing well in the exercise area though. I might slow down once in a while but I never go a day without at least 30 minutes. At least I am below 200 now and have managed to stay under for about 5 months now.

Yes, I am still aboard. I back slid l5 pounds and then I had a "frozen shoulder" which I am going through therapy. I joined the boot camp and I have lost 7 of the l5. I know that exercise is the key for me,**I just have to learn to like it more.

I'm still here. I've gone through a total knee replacement in March, an opening of the knee for a cleaning and rinsing in May, a knee manipulation in August, and another total knee replacement in December. It's been very hard to stay on a food plan because I'm grateful to those who stop by and bring a dinner whether or not it's in my calorie range, and I eat whatever it is that looks good to keep up my strength. So I'm in physical therapy starting today. Now I need to begin to focus on drinking more water, and then hopefully I can begin to focus on an eating plan. So yes, I'm here. No, I haven't lost weight. But hopefully this will be my year!

I'm around! I lost about 25lbs between the time I joined and August, and then went on a bit of a hiatus. I've been maintaining my loss since then, and I'm just starting to get back into "weight loss mode." I have 20lbs to go, and I'm hoping to get that off before May!

I've lost around 55lbs so far! Really happy with that. I have another 40lbs or so more to lose.

I have reset my ticker to work on losing the rest in smaller chunks, I find it more motivating.

I have dropped 3 dress sizes & I am so much healthier and fitter both mentally and physically.

I'm still here. Working real slow towards my goals, and it's ok to go slow. Actually that's the only way I can do this. Doing my very careful exercises/movements every other day most of the time, with some exceptions if I've got plans that include more physical activity than usual. Like tomorrow, when I'm going to do some shopping for pretty shoes with a friend. We'll be walking a bit, and that means I push the exercises up a day to Thursday evening instead.

Haven't lost weight or inches really, but I'm keeping up with healthy food habits and working on making it to eight glasses of water a day. Drinking more green tea now, and have almost quit drinking fruit drinks with sugar in them. I do drink apple juice every now and then for variation though, and am allowing myself one cup of iced coffee a week. This is a big change from before, when I had iced coffee pretty much every day.

I'm still here but then again I only joined this group last week ;-) I've lost about 13 lbs. since staring Spark People on February 14, 2010 and am very pleased with my progress. I've learned a lot about nuitrition, exercise and myself. I will always be grateful that I can be a part of such a huge community and all it's resources from the comfort of my own home.... and it's free, which still blows my mind. My One year anniversary is coming up quickly - glad to have found this group, too. emoticon

Lost over 30 lbs since then..
. not as much as I hoped, but, I didn't quit. Just had to focus energy in another direction over the past 7 months dealing with family and health crises. Now learning to live with Psoriatic Arthritis that took away most of my mobility over the fall/beginning of winter. Climbing back out of that hole, starting with recording my eating again, and stretching exercises, maybe back to Curves- have not been there in 4 months.Gotta take it easy on myself, but I am still going! emoticon

I started off last February with lots of exercise and good eating habits, then over the course of the summer my exercise routine fell apart. I started up again in the fall and since the first of the year have reworked my eating habits and planned for more exercise with a couple of workout partners. Getting better every day!
