Same for me, Sally. LOL Seems like there was an awful lot of emphasis on romantic relationships or weddings or such, so I found that a bit odd. :) Maybe someone we don't know on the team has something going in that regard, it's hard to tell. LOL

This week's reading is again from the Angel Tarot cards (Virtue/Valentine):

1.) Four of Fire: You've worked hard and are now rewarded with contentment, peace, and abundance. The freedom your success has afforded you provides deep feelings of satisfaction. You've safely navigated your way thru the obstacles to a place you can feel proud of. Matters at home are rewarding. Someone may be planning on getting married or planning to move in with a partner. Peace and harmony have been established, and now you seek stability and commitment. This card may also represent a milestone in your career, or life; a successfully completed project; counting your blessings, feeling elated.

2.) The High Priestess: You drew this card because the answers you seek lie in your feelings and emotions. Trust your intuition and the power of your natural psychic abilities. Also, pay attention to your dreams and any intuitive messages you receive, as they're accurately guiding you. There's no need to race into action at this time, however. Take time to gain more insight, since things may not be as they appear on the surface. Withdraw from the noise of daily life and ask for guidance from your angels and guides. Everything you need to know will be revealed to you in time; have patience. (Archangel Haniel is the goddess-like angel of grace and feminine spirituality - such as intuition and clairvoyance -. Like a true high priestess, Haniel will act as your spiritual teacher and advisor to aid you in discerning which feelings and ideas to follow as trustworthy guidance. Call upon Haniel to increase your clarity in connecting with the angels.)

3.) Two of Air: You're struggling with a decision. You have conflicting emotions or thoughts about which way to move, so you're avoiding making a choice. Intuitively, you know what to do, but you're afraid to act and are at an impasse. Have faith in your own wisdom and move forward. There's a stalemate between parties. Compromise is called for. Find an impartial mediator to forge a resolution. This card may also indicate over-analyzing a situation, pretending there is no problem, complex negotiations, or self-doubt.

4.) Knight of Water: Deep emotions arising from situations or relationships impact your life. Falling in love or a wedding proposal is possible. You (or someone close to you) need to balance your emotions, lest you become overwhelmed. You may receive invitations to parties or other social opportunities. This card may also indicate an extremely emotional person who's driven by a love of romance, art, and beauty. Someone who is charming, contemplative, and idealistic.

5.) Ace of Earth: Significant abundance flows to you now. You may get a promotion, salary increase, or unexpected money. If you're starting a new business, the venture will likely succeed. The foundation for prosperity has been well laid. It's also a good time to make an investment. Consider any opportunities carefully. You may soon receive some important legal documents, contracts, or correspondence. This card may also indicate the receipt of a gift, improving health, excellent luck, or significant purchases.

6.) The Lovers: This card signals that a significant relationship is on your mind. It may be romantic in nature, or it may be an intimate but platonic friendship. Communication is key right now, and it's important to develop trust within the relationship. You can safely share your feelings with someone close to you. It's also time to make an important decision about your life. The conclusions you reach now greatly influence your future, so it's important to weigh your options carefully. Make sure your choices are thoroughly considered and that you're able to act upon them. This card can also indicate the need for balance and a return to good health, as well as marriage or weddings.

Your pendulum may be bipolar again but it is definitely getting things right for me anyway. I've had to take a day or two to find time to read this properly and it is spot on. thank you very much Gail.

This week's reading is taken from the Archangel Power Tarot Deck and the Angel Tarot. (both decks compliments of D. Virtue and R. Valentine). My pendulum is bipolar again this week. :)
----------------

1.) 7 of Ariel: Your seeds are well planted. However, some plans do take time to develop. Now is not the moment to stop, as success is very probable. You may not see it clearly, but slow and steady progress is being made. Have patience, it's almost time. This is a good opportunity to pause and review how far you've come. Are things moving along as you'd planned? If not, what changes might you make in the future? If you're at the end of a project, don't linger too long finishing it up. The next success awaits your attention. This card can also indicate a temporary pause or a welcome break in the action; pondering future strategies and determination.

2.) Queen of Michael: You know exactly what to do. Past experiences have prepared you perfectly for the situation you find yourself in. Wisdom blended with humor makes the task easy to accomplish. Give others credit for good intentions rather than perfect actions. This is the time of life for advancing your career and getting things done rather than engaging in romantic relationships. On a personal level, this card can refer to a person who has both a brilliant mind and a great sense of humor, someone who has varied and broad experience in life. Perceptive, courageous, analytical, cool, calm, and collected, or a faithful friend.

3.) The High Priestess: The answers you seek are within you. They cannot be found thru the intellect, but instead are a product of your deepest feelings. Emotional situations provide great insight right now. Intuition and psychic messages should be treated seriously and with great respect, as they can be relied upon with confidence. Your dreams at night may also hold keys to understanding what actions to take next. There may be aspects of your situation that you're unaware of, but Archangel Haniel can provide you with the enlightenment and answers you're searching for. This is not a time of action, but of reflection and meditation. Have faith that events will unfold perfectly and that you will know when to move forward. Remain patient and be at peace knowing that your inner guidance will not fail you. This card indicates the power of the subconscious, the willingness to forgive, spiritual awakening, patience, the mystery and awe of the Universe and keeping the confidences of others.

(Haniel is a beautiful and mystical archangel who can help you understand the mysteries of life. Her name means 'grace of God', and as such, she is seen by many as having a goddess-like appearance. Haniel helps those who have embarked on an inner search for meaning and answers in their lives. She is a loving and wise spiritual guide who can assist you in developing your intuition and psychic abilities.)

4.) 5 of Water: Things may not have turned out the way you expected. Be careful not to focus too much on the negative, as there's a positive in every situation. You may be missing the silver lining. Fighting or trying to ignore change doesn't serve you. Instead, have faith that everything happens for a reason. It's healthy to grieve what has been lost and take the time to heal. Reach out to friends, family, and wise counselors for support and comfort. Other meanings of this card are sadness, the end of a relationship, wishing you could change the past, obsession, or crying over spilled milk.

5.) 7 of Earth: The fruits of your labor continue to grow, and harvest is imminent. Patience is essential as you pause to plan your next steps. You may feel you have far to go, but don't forget how far you've already come. Review and acknowledge your progress from a broader perspective. Anxiety regarding the current situation is unfounded. Any halt in forward movement is temporary. This is a good time to rest or vacation to recharge your batteries. Other meanings of this card can be perseverance, reaching a milestone, considering a new approach, or unnecessary worry.

6.) King of Air: You may receive valuable advice from an intelligent professional. It's important that your decisions be fair and equitable to all involved. Don't hesitate to consult a third party, if necessary, yet speak your mind with confidence.

This card may also indicate a person who is at the top of his or her field, especially in an intellectual area such as law, science, or business. Someone who's an excellent speaker and is knowns for the ability to be objective and diplomatic. Brilliant, authoritative, impartial, professional, balanced, and motivational. It can also refer to justice, a mediator, government or military, or forgetting to weigh the emotional aspects of a situation.
----------------------
Add'l info regarding suits:

A.) Suit of Water: The suit of water represents the depth of our emotions. It's where we fall in love, nurture our children, and open our hearts to deep feelings. The water cards represent love, romance, relationships, family, dreams and desires. This suit also encompasses the depths of our intuitive and psychic gifts.

B.) Suit of Earth: The suit of earth represents the material world, in which we deal with making a living, caring for our bodies, and looking after Mother Earth. Aspects of our lives represented by this suit include money, work, home, security, health, resources, education, society, and the environment.

C.) The Suit of Air: The suit of air represents our intellect. It's where we make our decisions, analyze situations, and give voice to our thoughts. Air is aligned with justice, truth, ideals, the legal system, communication, and other intellectual areas. As fear and worry generally live in the mind, this suit can also denote struggles and concerns of our lives.

I'm so glad it struck a chord with you, Sally, thank you and bless you! I really love the analogies in this deck, too, they're a really fun read with such wonderful points to the thoughts.

Thanks for this reading Gail. You are being very perceptive with your cards at present. I have found these cards to be very helpful indeed. They seem to hit the nail in a number of ways. I also rather like the analogies in them.

Today's reading is taken from the medicine card deck (Jamie Sams and David Carson)--

1.) SQUIRREL: (You have gathered nuts by the score, exactly predicting if you'll need more. Teach me to take no more than I need, trusting Great Mystery to harvest thy seed.)

Squirrel teaches you to plan ahead for the winter when the trees are bare and the nuts have long since disappeared. Squirrel medicine can come in many forms, as this furry creature is very diverse in nature. The erratic behavior of squirrel has bested many a forlorn hunter, and it thus stands to reason that there are benefits of being able to circle a branch at lightning speed. This erratic behavior of squirrel can also get nerve wracking if you are dealing with persons who have squirrel medicine. Trying to calm them down enough to accomplish something may drive you nuts!

The gathering power of squirrel medicine is a great gift. It teaches you how to gather and store your energy for times of need. It teaches you to reserve something for future use, whether it be a judgment, an opinion, a savings account, candles, or extra food. To put it in a nutshell, squirrel is the boy scout of the animal kingdom --always prepared.

In today's world of changing times and fortunes, it is the wise person who prepares for the future. Our prophets have all spoken of the end of the millennium and the changes to come. Squirrel is a friendly medicine to have, in light of possible future rainy days. Its message is to be prepared but not go nuts with it. Love yourself enough to gather the goods that will meet your needs in times of scarcity, even if that time never comes.

If squirrel has scurried into your cards today, it may be that you are being told to honor your future by readying yourself for change. The message could be to lighten your load if you have gathered too many 'things' that do NOT serve you. These 'things' can include thoughts, worries, pressures, stresses, or gadgets that have been broken for years. In understanding the balance involved in gathering, you need to look at the idea of circulating the stock of what you have gathered. Call the nearest thrift store and give the gadgets to someone who can benefit from them. If something no longer 'grows corn' for you, then it is time to let it go.

Squirrel has another lesson which can aid you if you observe what is obvious, and which can prepare you for anything. It has to do with the safe place in which to put your gatherings. This safe place is an untroubled heart and mind, and that which is gathered to put in this place of wisdom and caring. The energies gathered will set your mind and heart free, so that you will know that all will be taken care of in its own time. Apply this to your fears about the future and they will vanish.
------------

2.) DOG: (You are so noble until the bitter end. Your medicine is the teaching of true and loyal friends.)

All of the Southwest and Plains Indian tribes had dogs. These noble animals would often give warning signals of approaching danger. They helped in the hunt and were a great source of warmth on long winter nights. Since the canine tribe has many breeds, early Indian dogs were usually half-wild. This wildness, however, never divested the owners of the dogs' innate loyalty.

Dog has been considered the servant of humanity throughout history. If a person carries dog medicine, he or she is usually serving others or humanity in some way. Here you will find the charity worker, the philanthropist, the nurse, the counselor, the minister, and the soldier.

Dog was the servant-soldier that guarded the tribe's lodges from surprise attack. Dog is a medicine that embodies the loving gentleness of 'best friend' and the half-wild 'protector energy' of territorial imperative. Like Anubis, the jackal dog protector of Egypt, dog is a guardian. Throughout history dog has been the guardian of hell, as well as of ancient secrets, hidden treasures, and babies --while mothers are cooking or in the fields. Dog honors its gifts and is loyal to the trust placed in its care.

In examining dog medicine, you might find that you have fond personal memories of owning and loving dog as a pet. The message that dog is trying to give you is that you must delve deeply into your sense of service to others. Canines are genuinely service-oriented animals, and are devoted to their owners with a sense of loyalty that supersedes how they are treated.

If dog has been yelled at or paddled, it still returns love to the person who was the source of its bad treatment. This does not come from stupidity, but rather from a deep and compassionate understanding of human shortcomings. It is as if a tolerant spirit dwells in the heart of every canine that asks only to be of service.

You can also see dogs that have had the loyalty beaten out of them. They cower and cry at the slightest look of disapproval, but this is not their normal nature. Some varieties of dogs have even been trained against their natures to be brutal and vicious. Out of a sense of service, these breeds have adopted the attack-oriented desires of their owners. They carry an altered genetic memory of what service means if they are to be approved of by their masters.

Dog medicine asks you to look at how readily your sense of loyalty is countermanded by your need for approval. If you have pulled the dog card, there are several questions you need to consider, depending upon the situation about which you are asking:

a.) Have I recently forgotten that I owe my allegiance to my personal truth in life?
b.) Is it possible that gossip or the opinion of others have jaded my loyalty to a certain friend or group?
c.) Have I denied or ignored someone who is trying to be my loyal friend?
d.) Have I been loyal and true to my goals?
-------------

3.) TURKEY: (Ho, brother Turkey! So freely you give, of everything that you are so others may truly live.)

Turkey is actually thought to be the Give-Away Eagle or South Eagle of many Native peoples. The philosophy of give-away was practiced by many tribes. Simply stated, it is the deep and abiding recognition of the sacrifices of both self and others. People in modern day society, who have many times more than they need, should study the noble turkey who sacrifices itself so that we may live. In turkey's death we have our life. Honor turkey.

Spectators unfamiliar with the cultural phenomenon of the pot-latch or give-away ceremony are often mystified by it. A tribal member may gladly give away all he or she owns, and do without in order to help the people. In present day urban life, we are taught to acquire and get ahead. The person with the most toys wins the game. In some cultures, no one can win the game unless THE WHOLE of the peoples' needs are met. A person who claims more than his or her share is looked upon as selfish or crazy or both. The poor, the aged, and the feeble have honor. The person who gives away the most and carries the burdens of the People is one of the most respected.

Turkey was the medicine of many saints and mystics. Celebrate if you have turkey medicine. Your virtues are many. You have transcended self. You act and react on the behalf of others. You aspire to help those who need help. This is not out of some sense of self-righteous moralism or religious guilt. Help and sustenance are given by turkey out of the realization that all life is sacred. It is knowing that the Great Spirit resides within all people. It is an acknowledgment that what you do for others you do for yourself. Turkey medicine rests in true ego, in enlightenment. Doing unto others and feeding the people is the message of all true spiritual systems.

Depending on how turkey is aspected in your cards, you are being given a gift. This gift could be spiritual, material, or even intellectual. The gift may be small or great, but it is never insignificant. Congratulations. You may have just won the lottery. Or the gift may be a beautiful sunset, or the smell of a fragrant flower. On the other hand, you may feel the 'spirit of giving' growing within you, and wanting you to share with others.
---------------

4.) SWAN: (The power of woman entering sacred space, touching future yet to come, bringing eternal grace.)

Little Swan flew thru the Dreamtime, looking for the future. She rested for a moment in the coolness of the pond, looking for a way to find the entry point to the future. This was a moment of confusion for Swan, as she knew that she had happened into the Dreamtime by accident. This was her first flight alone and she was a bit concerned by the Dreamtime landscape.

As Swan looked high above Sacred Mountain, she saw the biggest swirling black hole she had ever seen. Dragonfly came flying by and Swan stopped him to ask about the black hole. Dragonfly said, 'Swan, that is the doorway to the other planes of imagination.. I have been guardian of the illusion for many, many moons. If you want to enter there, you would have to ask permission and EARN the right.'

Swan was not so sure she wanted to enter the black hole. She asked Dragonfly what was necessary for her to earn entry. Dragonfly replied, 'you must be willing to accept whatever the future holds as it is presented, without trying to change Great Spirit's plan.' Swan looked at her ugly little duckling body and then answered, 'I will be happy to abide by the Great Spirit's plan. I won't fight the currents of the black hole. I will SURRENDER to the flow of the spiral and TRUST what I am shown.' Dragonfly was very happy with Swan's answer and began to spin the magic to break the pond's illusion. Suddenly, Swan was engulfed by a whirlpool in the center of the pond.

Swan reappeared many days later, but now she was graceful and white and long necked. Dragonfly was stunned! 'Swan, what happened to you?' he exclaimed. Swan smiled and said, 'Dragonfly, I learned to surrender my body to the power of the Great Spirit and was taken to where the future lives. I saw many wonders high on Sacred Mountain and because of my faith and my acceptance I have been changed. I have learned to accept the state of grace.' Dragonfly was very happy for Swan.

Swan told Dragonfly many of the wonders beyond the illusion. Thru her healing and her acceptance of the state of grace, she was given the right to enter the Dreamtime.

So it is that we learn to surrender to the grace of the rhythm of the universe, and slip from our physical bodies into the Dreamtime. Swan medicine teaches us to be at one with all planes of consciousness, and to trust in Great Spirit's protection.

If you pulled swan, it ushers in a time of altered states of awareness and of development of your intuitive abilities. Swan medicine people have the ability to see the future, to surrender to the power of Great Spirit, and to accept the healing and transformation of their lives.

The swan card is telling you to accept your ability to know what lies ahead. If you are resisting your self-transformation, relax; it will be easier to go WITH the flow. Stop denying that you know who is calling when the phone rings. Pay attention to your hunches and your gut knowledge, and honor your female intuitive side.
--------------------

5.) WHALE: (Whale of mighty oceans, you have seen it all. Secrets of the ages are heard within your call. Teach me how to hear your words, and how to understand the very roots of history, of when our world began.)

Whale is very much like a swimming library. Whale carries the history of Mother Earth and is said to have been placed here by the Ancients from the Dog Star, Sirius.

Biologists say that whale is a mammal, and very possibly lived on land millions of years ago. In tribal legend, whale's move into the ocean happened when the earth shifted and Lemuria, the Motherland, went below the waves.

All of our petroglyphs speak of the Motherland, Mu, and the disaster that brought the red race to North America from the West, beyond the great waters. The symbols in the petroglyphs speak of rivers and mountains crossed by our ancestors when they sought solid ground as the water receded.

Whale saw the events that led to the settling of Turtle Island (N. America) and has kept the records and the knowledge of the Motherland alive. It is said that Mu will rise again when the fire comes from the sky and lands in another ocean on Mother Earth. The Native American people are waiting for this event as the next sign of Earth changes. Earth's children will HAVE to unite and honor all ways and all races in order to survive.

Whale medicine people are coded in the DNA to understand that sound frequencies can bring up records in the memories of ancient knowledge. They are usually clairaudient, or able to hear both very low and very high frequencies. They are also usually physically developed and fairly telepathic. Many times, however, they are not awakened to their gifts until it is time to use the stored records. Many whale medicine people are able to tap into the universal mind of Great Spirit, and have no idea how or why they know what they know. Only later, when they receive confirmation, do they begin to understand how they know or why they received the impressions.

Whale medicine teaches us to use the sounds and frequencies that balance our emotional bodies and heal our physical forms. To recall WHY the shaman's drum brings healing and peace is to align with whale's message. The drum is the universal heartbeat and aligns all beings heart to heart.

Before the advent of speech and the primordial language, hand signs were used, and many tribes were silent most of the time. The language that was understood was the sounds of Great Spirit's other creatures, the animals.

If you pulled the whale card, you are being asked to tap into these records and to allow yourself to be sung to by those who have the original language. We are the only creatures who do not have our own unique cry or call. Find yours. Allow your voice to use this sound to release tension or emotion. Whale destiny as coded in your DNA, and of finding the sounds that will release those records. You may never be the same again. After all, you are the melody of the universe, and the harmony is the song of the other creatures. In using your voice to open your memory, you are expressing your uniqueness and your personal sound. As you open to this uniqueness, the animals that are your nine totems may then send their sounds or calls to you or thru you. This will open your personal records so that you may further explore your soul's history and commune with whale, who carries the history of us all.
----------------

6.) WEASEL: (Weasel, Weasel, Weasel, who's in the hen house now? If I were to ask you, you'd say it was the Cow!)

Weasel has an incredible amount of energy and ingenuity, yet it is a difficult power totem to have. It is not without significance that ermine or weasel pelt is worn by royalty. Weasel ears hear beneath the surface of a situation to know the many ramifications of an event. This too is a rare gift. The chiefs sent weasel to the enemy camp to smoke them for power. 'What are the medicines of the enemy?' the chiefs asked weasel upon his return.

Weasel never failed to give an accurate account of the enemy's numbers, strengths, and weaknesses. It was the weasel who tearfully told the Original People of the coming of the white boat people. 'These brothers have strange new medicines,' said weasel. 'They will tell us that to live the way we do is wrong. They will confuse us with their talking bark. They have stolen thunder from Sky Father and placed it in their weapons. They have no respect for the animal brothers and sisters, and they make their thunder speak to the animals and kill them. They will make the thunder speak to us also. Their numbers are too many to count, and these great white brothers will steal everything from us but our spirits. The great dark shadow of the ravenous bird of death has fallen over the people.'

Weasel fur changes color with the season. Silent weasel has many lessons to teach you. Weasel could confound Great Spirit, pick Great Spirit's pockets, and then leave Great Spirit contemplating on the the divine navel. If this is your personal medicine, your powers of observation are keen. You seem to be saying, 'leave me alone and I will do the same for you.' You might even look a bit guilty at times due to what you know from observing life. You may be a loner hiding yourself away from others, or perhaps even a recluse. You are a powerful ally to have in any business organization since you can see what the competition is doing. People may make a great mistake in sizing you up since they do not immediately see your powers. But the first time they try to outsmart you, they will soon learn that your intelligence is greater than their own.

Look to weasel power to tell you the 'hidden reasons' behind anything. Some people are put off by weasel medicine, talent, and abilities, but there are no bad medicines. We all have power, or we would not be here to heal Mother Earth. Perhaps if you have weasel power you could use your secret gifts for the good of all. Observe who or what needs attention, or a solution, and offer your assistance in your own quiet or discreet way.

You know that old saying 'what you resist persists'? Well....it's apparently true. My pendulum once again chose the chakra deck for this week's reading. Buggers.....LOL (Deck by Tori Hartman)

1.) Red card: PERFECTION: This card indicates protection and an inner conflict between wanting to look good and having compassion for others. Remain kind and unattached to an outcome. Being right and letting others know that you are right may not support the outcome you desire.

Legend: Raspberry needs no make-up to accentuate her exquisite features, but she wears it anyway. She is a perfectionist. She speaks the truth at all times, believing that she is helping others by sharing her truth. While statements such as 'your child is overweight' are honest, they make others avoid her. Lonely, she seeks the advice of her favorite, Elderberry, who teaches her that honesty without kindness is cruelty. Her new vulnerability allows her to see the beauty in others as well as her self.

Inspiration: Are you being too hard on yourself, and consequently on others? Begin to look for what's right and good in your world and you will see it.

Personal Inquiry: Where am I presently focusing? 'Knowing' what's right and telling others about it might not be the best way of being.

Key Ideas: Alienating others, feeling alienated; seeking perfection; deeply desiring love; transformation ahead.

Key Words: Uniqueness, friendship, and acceptance.

Meditation: Think about the people in your life. Find something good about every person who comes into your mind (no matter who they are or how you feel about them) before you release them. You will know this meditation has concluded when no more people come forward.
------------

2.) Neutral Card: RELEASE: See all that you are, for you possess a power that you have yet to understand. This may feel daunting, but great freedom awaits as you meet your shadow self. Profound inner wisdom is coming to you. Stand steady. You are more than you know.

Legend: Nikita cuts thru the graveyard as she rushes home in the wind and rain. She is terrified when Shadow Gray Storm appears and speaks in her own voice, repeating painful things she has said to herself and others: 'It's all your fault.' ... 'I'll never forgive any of you!' As she listens in the rain to her own words, she learns it is she who has been making herself miserable. She leaves the graveyard with a changed heart, ready to forgive herself and others.

Inspiration: This is about personal responsibility and release of blame. It is time to clear the debris and move on. You cannot move forward while you continue to hide.

Personal Inquiry: This indicates healing family of origin issues. Am I ready to face my past and let it go?

Key Ideas: Release, dwelling on the past; righteous anger; change in consciousness; judgement day; seeing clearly; hidden truth and great discovery.

Key Words: Healing, remission, and integration

Meditation: To do this meditation you must have no distractions. Shadow Gray Storm simply asks that you sit and listen. In the silence, you will hear yourself. If you sincerely seek freedom, Shadow Gray Storm may come to you.
-----------------------

3.) Purple Card: DESPONDENCE: You have all the answers you need within you. This card may indicate an emotional tie that no longer serves you. Remember, how you relate to the issue IS the issue. Obstacles are removed when you change your relationship to them.

Legend: Iris is depressed and unable to look after herself or her home. She cries out to the Great Spirit for help. Mother Earth appears and suggests Iris shower, eat a good meal and clean up her house. She does, but still feels despondent. Suddenly, a hurricane hits and Iris springs into action to rescue her neighbor's children. In the urgency Iris finds the way out of depression by taking action.

Inspiration: Iris teaches us that the only route out of stagnation is motion. If we do nothing, we must accept the consequences.

Personal Inquiry: In which part of my life am I feeling immobilized? I know what I need to do. Am I willing to trust myself?

Key Ideas: Feeling helpless; acceptance of circumstances; change on the horizon; taking action

Key Words: Revelation, movement, encouragement.

Meditation: Imagine an expansive countryside with nothing to block the view. The wind blows and without warning carries you to a place of sadness. Ask the Great Spirit to reveal the action you must take. You will either intuitively know what to do or it will soon be revealed to you. Open your eyes and see that all is calm. Be grateful.
---------------------

4.) Green card: GROWTH: This card implies personal commitment and following one's heart. It is about honoring your growth, and the growth of others. There is a sense of courage and abundance and an ability to stand tall. This is the time to uphold what your heart knows is true.

Legend: Grass is excited. He is ready to tell his best friend Weed that he is gay. But Weed reacts negatively, and it is the first of many judgmental encounters for Grass. For years he is turned down for jobs, and even when he applies for an apartment, Grass fights for the right to live where he wants, and wins, but soon after he moves into his new apartment someone breaks in and attacks him. In the hospital his loved ones gather, sharing stories of who Grass was to them. He dies, leaving behind his legacy of love and courage.

Inspiration: Grass says, 'break away'. It may be time for a change of scenery. Visit a foreign country, embark on a new enterprise or learn a skill. Most importantly, grow.

Personal Inquiry: What have I outgrown? Am I willing to become independent?

Key Ideas: Taking a stand; living your truth; lack of safety, clashing values; teaching by example.

Key Words: Warrior, peace, courage.

Meditation: Find a peaceful place where you can listen to the sounds outside. In your mind's eye, watch the grass sway in the wind. Allow images to come to you as you see a road and wander down it. Where do you find yourself? If you wish, write down what you see.
-------------------

5.) Yellow Card: MIRACLE: The brightest of all thoughts resides in sun yellow, as natural radiance stems from pure integrity. Be honest and forthright no matter what. With the energy of the sun, a miracle awaits. You instinctively know what is authentic; trust this.

Legend: Darkville is a town of self-centered people. One day Betty is given too much change after making a purchase; and she returns the extra money. A brilliant light bursts from the stump of a dead oak tree in the center of town. The citizens are bewildered by the sudden brightness, but neither question the Sun Sparkler nor change their cheating ways. One day a child asks it why it came. It tells her it shines for all that is good in the world, and appears when a good deed is done. The residents of Markville are touched and become more selfless.

Inspiration: Do you let someone in or do you pretend not to see them? You cannot shut out pain without shutting out pleasure. Kindness exists to lend magic to integrity.

Personal Inquiry: The essence of inspiration is integrity. Can I be counted on?

Key Ideas: Being a light; lighting the way for others; coming miracles

Key Words: Integrity, gifts, reward.

Meditation: Imagine a warm yellow light pouring down from the heavens. Stand directly under the vibrant energy as it showers over you. Allow all material worries to melt away. Sun Sparkler will teach you now. When you are finished, return to normal consciousness and write down what you have heard.

Card descriptions:

#1.) Red cards: (Manifesting Intention) The 1st chakra relates to the source of your energy and to how you are building your foundation. Think of the root chakra as a platform. The red cards represent the support you have created or are creating for your future. The root chakra shows us a new way to bring our dreams to fruition. They denote beginnings and reveal how to create a solid foundation in tangible form. Keep this in mind: if you are not yet creating what you say you desire, you may need to grow your energetic root deeper and wider into the earth plane. An abundance of red cards in a reading is a strong indication of how you are building your foundation, and will offer energetic ideas about what is necessary for you to manifest.. These cards represent the beginning of an undertaking -- and may guide you away from old ideas that no longer work in your life. Red cards ask, 'How does this card represent the place from which I can create something extraordinary?'
---------------
#4.) Green Cards: (Manifesting Intention) The 4th chakra - the heart chakra - relates to matters of the heart. In manifesting, we are always blocked if 'our heart is not in it'. There is something very pivotal about every green card as tho each one indicates a key moment of personal choice. They tell us about 'the heart of the matter'. In this chakra we decide whether we will proceed or whether things will get kicked back to our yellow chakra, where we spend time thinking without progressing our decisions. In essence you will see here whether your heart is truly invested in the actions your are willing to take. Every green card owns the distinction of revealing what happens when you do - or don't - follow your heart. The question these cards ask is, 'what does your heart tell you?'

I finally had a chance to read this too. Some of them touched me in ways to help my daughter rather than for me directly. The information at the end about chakras will be set aside for further study. My roommate in Seattle has been working with chakra energies andI will pass this on to her.

Thanx, Sally, I really appreciate your feedback. I'm glad you liked the reading. Hang tight to that chewing gum! LOL I really enjoy doing the readings and plan to stick with them, and I'll keep stewing re: this particular deck.....it's a deck I find very frustrating, sometimes, but it does have a validity to it so I'll probably leave it in the mix.

Finally had a chance to read this post. I admit I laughed when I saw the reading about the girl with the coins. We are the girl with the chewing gum as we have got our cash refunded today, at last, lol. The other cards feel very apt too in a variety of ways so I actually found this to be a very good reading, for me anyway. Thank you for doing all that. It must take a lot of time and I quite understand if you wanted to put this deck aside, for a while at least. Even miss a few weeks, you have other things to do although I do enjoy reading them.

Fell by the wayside last year but back on track now.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Sally.....I didn't realize you had responded here...you are very welcome, I'm glad to do these readings, I need practice! LOL

This week's reading is from the Chakra Healing Deck by Tori Hartman:

1.) Orange card GUILT: This card indicates deep caring and protection from emotional hurt thru standing strong in your emotions. There is great inner resolve here. Once your mind is made up, you can see when others have tried to manipulate you. Reclaim your life.

The Legend: Apricot is truly a saint. She sets aside her own needs and happiness to help others, even allowing freeloading friends to get involved in her business. One day her latest 'business partner' announces that she wants to dissolve their company and split the profits. Apricot stands up to her. The company is hers and she did all the work, while the so-called 'partner' did nothing. Now she will only give from her excess, not her reserve.

Inspiration: Do not do for others what they need to do for themselves. Speak truth from your heart. Honesty is freedom. Any guilt is fear of being disliked.

Personal Inquiry: Am I giving away too much time and energy, and resenting it? Is my anger really guilt?

Key Ideas: Self-care; burdened by obligations; enabling others; finding personal power.

Keywords: Awareness, release, awakening.

Meditation: Imagine chains holding you down. As you relax, the links weaken one by one. See and hear each one fall to the ground. With each thud, see a chunk of fear or guilt fall away. When you are free, get up and walk into a glowing Apricot light. What happens then?
----------------------

2.) Purple Card MYSTICISM: This is a time of trusting in the unknown. You already sense the answer, even if it is not apparent. Do not ask others what they see, for you alone can see into the heart of the matter. Trust your intuitive powers to guide you.

Legend: A woman named Aubergine calls on the phone to confirm that she will be with us tonight, yet no woman named Aubergine has been invited. Of the four invited, two are wed and two are unknown to each other, a woman and a man. Surely, if this mysterious woman were the guest of the man, she would have made it known? A woman approaches--the woman named Aubergine. The woman who 'will be with us tonight.'

Inspiration: It is wise to be the observer. Do not respond until you are certain. The unknown is not easy, but it is no longer necessary to fear.

Personal Inquiry: Am I ignoring my intuition? What I suspect is probably true. I must breathe.

Key Ideas: Ignoring signs; unknown motivation; intuitive knowing; fear of the unknown; a journey.

Key Words: Intuition, courage, uncharted.

Meditation: See yourself in a crystal clear pool. As you wade in the water, a whirlpool swirls toward you and catches you. Aubergine is afraid you would leave if you weren't captive. Assure her you will stay if she sets you free. She doesn't believe you. You have met your own fear. Open your eyes. What is real? What is imagined? What is no longer necessary?
-----------------------------

3.) Neutral Card IMPARTIALITY: This is not a time to personally shine, but to allow others to come forth with their gifts. You may find yourself in the role of neutral advisor. Hold the space for others to find their own answers. Advice may not be well received. Be unbiased now.

The Legend: Bahana is the wise dictator from the town of Beige. She is known for settling disputes fairly. One day, two neighbors are arguing about what color to paint their fence. Bahana gives each of them a can of paint and instructs them to paint their side of the fence the color that the OTHER neighbor wants. She knows that when they can color their world in the love of their neighbor's eyes, they will understand and accept each other.

Inspiration: Take an impartial look at your situation. The action here is to listen and observe.

Personal Inquiry: If I step back from my present situation, what do I see? Can I be neutral?

Key Ideas: Neutral position; allowing things to unfold; standing in another's shoes; uplifted communication.

Keywords: Guide, open-minded, fairness

Meditation: As a mist forms, take a few deep breaths. Bahana beckons you into the mist. When you are ready, allow her energy and knowledge in. If something happens, then allow it to happen, but you are to follow, not lead. Nothingness is the goal. Open your eyes when you are ready to and thank Bahana for reminding you to be with yourself.
------------------------

4.) Yellow Card: DISSIPATING: Allow gentle flight to your thoughts. Canary yellow supports the creativity in daydreaming. Recognizing the difference between a daydream and a well-thought-out plan is key, as creativity must be freed from its cage.

Legend: Canary, a pet bird, has wonderful ideas for an action movie starring his owner, Mr Robinson. They frequently discuss the exciting plot with friends and family. But when they are given the money to make the screenplay a reality, Canary and Mr Robinson choose to go on a cruise instead. For the rest of their lives, they talk about their great story --and exist in fantasy, not reality.

Inspiration: Beware of being imprisoned by the story you tell. Do you intend to do what you say?

Personal Inquiry: A lack of planning does not indicate misfortune. Am I doing as I say?

Key Ideas: Take action; content to dream; going in circles; strong intelligence; making excuses; procrastinating.

Key Words: Companionship, connection, assistance.

Meditation: Sit quietly with what you speak of so frequently. Take a breath. What do you wish to do? Become aware of the feeling in your body. Is it apprehension? Enthusiasm? In your mind's eye, take one step toward carrying out your wishes. For example, are you thinking of writing a book? Pull out that first sheet of paper or turn on the computer. Then take the next step. Then the next. Will you dream it -- or do it?
----------------------------------------
----

5.) Blue Card: EXPANSION: Your life is changing as you move away from the old way of relating to others. New people are entering your life. Relationships may no longer work. You need to reach out to those who are in the same vibrational frequency of personal upliftment. Call upon higher companions to advise you at this time.

Legend: Sky God was seeking wise counsel to choose the color of the sky. He wanted the beings of Earth to feel serene when they looked at his work. Other Great Spirits reminded him to trust his intuition. He will know the right color when he sees it. Sky God trusts -- and sees the color clearly. Thus, the sky becomes blue.

Inspiration: Seeking good advice is vital when you are pushing into new territory. Stay away from anyone who is critical of your dreams. This indicates possibly changing your friends.

Key Ideas: Wise counsel, fruitful collaboration, spiritual support, state of uncertainty, and being guided.

Key Words: Counseling, corrections, progress.

Meditation: Imagine something that you believed to be impossible for you to achieve -- maybe your dream job, more money, a divine relationship -- can you imagine it? Repeat aloud, "I know this is possible." Say this phrase until you believe it. When you are ready, let it go. If you know your desire CAN be, it already is.
---------------------------------

6.) Yellow Card: ABUNDANCE: Gold represents the power of the mind to choose. One choice may be wise, the other foolish. Choosing well may involve temporary sacrifice in order to gain your desires. Remember that you can always make a new choice.

Legend: Inside a magical treasure chest, gold coins swap stories. One coin tells how a man foolishly dropped her down a drain, then cried instead of trying to get her out. Later, an enterprising little girl used string and chewing gum to fish her out. The coins remember how this girl saved them, along with many others, and eventually bought a house. As all coins desire to be well spent, they agree that she was indeed a wise person.

Inspiration: Think about your relationship with money. Are you the wise girl or the foolhardy man? Money is naturally attracted toward appreciation and gratitude.

Personal Inquiry: Be wary of using your financial situation as an excuse to avoid doing something. Are your thoughts and actions around money empowering or disempowering you?

Key Ideas: Abundance thru gratitude; releasing regret; being good with money.

Key Words: Friendship, wisdom, windfall.

Meditation: Place some money before you. Pick it up. Have you thought about how many souls have touched it before it came to you? Feel its energy. The value we derive from money is the exchange of energy. Imagine this money transforming into your desire. Be aware of your improved relationship with money.
-------------------------
The suit color descriptions:

1.) ORANGE: The orange cards represent our emotions and how we relate to them. In the 2nd Chakra you can learn emotional discipline, if you choose. You need to master the skill of steering your emotions as you would a ship on the high seas. This is very important in manifesting. The orange cards reveal your emotional experience in a particular situation. If you are struggling with your feelings, look back to the red Chakra --the root Chakra -- for the answer. Why? Because you source your emotional experience from a particular foundation or belief created in your root Chakra. This helps you to understand where your emotions are coming from. Next, observe your feelings rather than act on them, and your angels can speak directly to you thru the emotions revealed in these cards. However, you must stand fearlessly and observe your emotions--if you can do this, you have begun the journey into manifestation. You can walk the path you have previously only wished for. Master emotional discipline and you master how to manifest anything.
------

2.) PURPLE: The 6th Chakra represents our sixth sense. All the cards in the purple color ray -indigo and violet - appear in this chapter. The Brow Chakra is the 3rd eye and houses all that is hidden within, including your intuitive knowing. The cards often reveal family agreements made before you were born and karmic issues, which you have brought into the world to work out. The 6th Chakra reveals your intuitive focus and your inner knowing. The cards in this chapter may reveal the behaviors you've either inherited or unknowingly chosen to copy from your family of origin. This reflects where you are in terms of your own awareness and reveals your willingness to do your own soul searching. Are you living your past into the future? Faith is the unspoken element here. All intentions are fulfilled with the help of Spirit.
-----
3.) NEUTRAL: In the 7th Chakra, the crown Chakra, we reach the place of universal consciousness, which is outside our physical body. You may notice that these cards represent some aspect of our collective being. The idea here is that we all vibrate thru our 7th Chakra in a powerful way that keeps us connected to our humanity. The cards of the 7th Chakra are neutral in color because Spirit in essence is neutral. Here you will receive messages from Spirit that are detached from human worry. These cards indicate the higher-minded thinking that happens when we align with Spirit. The power of holding space can be seen as the energy of each card. Here you will see how conscious choice can bring you spiritual magnetism. These are the cards of mastery.
----
4 and 6: YELLOW: The yellow cards of the 3rd Chakra (solar plexus) reveal our planning processes. Do we have a logical or a scattered approach? Because they represent thinking and problem solving, yellow cards reveal our ability to resolve issues. In essence, they show what's on our mind. In yellow, we turn on the lights and let the spirits know we are home. If we don't let them know where we are, they cannot bring us our desires. Ultimately, the 3rd Chakra relates to our instinct and how our life is directed by it. When we can see how our instinct guides our thoughts, we will understand why we do what we do. And when it relates to our emotions, instinct is frequently the first thing that gets shut down. Remember what I said? Look to the previous chakra (the 2nd) if you feel blocked. Every decision we have ever made is made in a flash: to move forward or to stop. There is a moment, a split second, in which we decide. In this Chakra you decide if you will allow magic into your life.
----
5.) BLUE: The cards of the 5th Chakra (throat Chakra) reveal at a core level matters of communication; this includes creative focus and your ability to be heard and understood. Being able to communicate the truth you feel in your heart will bring forward all the positive attributes of these cards. When you deny your heart's knowledge, challenges will present themselves. Here you will find a definition of personal leadership and redefine beliefs that no longer serve you. Personal responsibility will be brought into play. The blue cards are a reflection of how you relate to the world. All matters concerning self-expression will be revealed. These include personal forms of expression such as writing, art, speaking and presentation skills. The resulting experiences in your life are linked to how you communicate with the world around you. In essence, this means that you will not get what you ask for, but you WILL get who you are, reflected back to you.

Tonight's reading is (again) from the Archangel Power Tarot cards (Virtue/Valentine). This one has 7 cards:

1.) 7 of Gabriel: You must stand up for what you believe in! It's important to confidently defend your actions. Even if you're in the minority, your beliefs are right, and you must stand your ground. Have the courage of your convictions, and pay close attention to what's going on around you. You may need to say no to people in power in order to look out for yourself or those you care about. There is an opportunity to learn a great deal from this situation. Ask yourself if this challenge is purely with those around you or if it might be an internal conflict that has manifested for the purpose of helping you grow. Claim your personal power, be an advocate, and have determination.

2.) Ace of Michael: You've come up with a wonderful new idea! Insight that had previously eluded you shines upon a situation or problem. Now the way forward is clear to you, and you move full steam ahead. There is an opportunity here to do things in an entirely new way. Give attention to the details in your plan of action, but also keep an eye on the big picture. There could be a bumpy start, but don't let that deter you from continuing to move forward! Clear up any communication problems with others. Don't allow misunderstandings to fester. Get to the truth of the matter! Be honest with yourself, look for the silver lining, and don't give up.

3.) The Lovers: This card encourages you to follow your heart. Deep-felt emotions are likely to be experienced as a key relationship enters your life. This could be a romantic partnership that leads to marriage, or someone you feel a very close but platonic connection with. Either way, this is an individual you can trust completely, and the relationship is likely to be life changing in a very positive way. Archangel Raphael can help you manifest the soul-mate relationship or deep friendship that you desire. This card can also indicate an extremely important choice that needs to be made. This decision should be made from the heart, with absolute devotion to the outcome and without reservation. If there is any question in your mind as to how to proceed, then you must take time to weigh the matter and choose carefully. Other meanings may be the power of love, the need for careful deliberation, a fork in the road, or recovery from a physical ailment. (Archangel Raphael is the angel who watches over those who are seeking a soul mate. Whether the desired relationship is romantic, a close friendship, or even career based, Raphael can help you make the perfect connection. He is also known as the angel who protects our physical health. Call upon him when you or someone you know isn't feeling well and needs healing.)

4.) 2 of Ariel: It's important to have balance. You may be working multiple jobs, or you have several projects going on at once. Reconsider your to-do list. Is it really necessary to accomplish it all? The key to managing stress is to think of ways to make your situation more fun. Look at life in a playful way. You may be having challenges balancing your budget. Be cautious of juggling your finances in a way that causes long-term difficulties. Career changes should be looked at carefully and decisions made slowly and logically. Additional meanings may be going with the flow, making things look easy, or the ability to get by on little money.

5.) 9 of Gabriel: Don't give up! Your determination and courage are needed now more than ever. You've come a long way, and your work has been important and valuable. Stand your ground and protect what you have created. Be prepared for any possibility. You've already proven yourself, and your position is secure so long as you have confidence. You may be tired, but this is the last challenging situation before success comes your way. This card can also refer to sticking with your plans, your ability to fight off illness, environmental activities, or growing organic food.

6.) Knight of Gabriel: It's time to take action! This situation needs your full and undivided focus and quick attention. Fortunately, you probably can't wait to get started! Think things thru thoroughly and then act with speed and certainty. You will instinctively know what direction to move in because you will feel such great passion for the cause. This card may also refer to someone who has immense self-confidence and is always ready for the next adventure, a person who is loyal and generous of spirit, courageous, enthusiastic, impulsive, and charismatic, or could also reflect passion for life and single-mindedness.

7.) 5 of Raphael: Everything happens for a reason. You may currently be focused on a loss, but when this card is drawn, there is something positive waiting for you. Things may not have turned out the way you expected, but now's the time to trust that the Universe has something better in store for you. Regret simply does not serve you now. Embrace changes as the guiding hand of your angels sending you in a new direction with your long-term happiness in mind. Reflect on the additional meanings of this card, tenderness toward others; a change in focus; the wisdom to reach out to loved ones.

This week's reading is from the Talking to Heaven tarot deck, by Doreen Virtue and James Van Praagh:
-----------------

1.) We will be together again: Because our souls are intertwined by shared missions and unfinished business, we are destined to be together. For now, I will be with you in my nonphysical form, functioning as a guide and a loving companion. While I can't give the guidance that God or an angel would do, I CAN lend my support and strength to help and protect you. Once your life is complete, we will reunite in spirit form, when I'll remind you of the ways of the wondrous nonphysical world. I can tell you now that there's nothing to fear about dying! And yet, you must live your life completely in order to fulfill your mission. When the time is right, you and I will have other physical lives together, ones that are perfectly orchestrated to help others and to create spiritual growth for both of us.

2.) I watch over you every day: Believe me when I tell you that I hear every one of your thoughts and know all of your life's desires, goals, and accomplishments. We have such a strong soul connection that part of my desire HERE is to watch over you THERE. Even tho I can't take your tests for you or interfere with your free will, I am sharing your space and am always influencing you to do the best that I know you can do. I help bring into your life those important learning opportunities your soul needs in order to grow. Think of me as your guardian angel. We share life together; I am the light that goes before you, holds your hand, and shows you the way. So don't be surprised if a thought about me suddenly comes into your mind, seemingly at random. That is me standing next to you, letting you know that I am still with you!

3.) I had to leave that way: Please don't relive my death in your mind, as from my perspective, it was very different from how you imagine.----( and this one is a repeat, in a reading a couple down, so I won't repeat the whole thing...reading from 4-29-17)

4.) It was my time to go: I know that it feels like a dream you can't wake up from, but please be reassured that every soul comes into the world at a predetermined time and also exits at the time it is meant to for its own growth. When I first came here, it all just seemed too amazing to believe, but now I see there is a larger force, and an incredible order to everything in the universe. Every soul has a cosmic plan it must follow. What you might perceive as an accident is merely a step in the cosmic dance.

5.) We are soul mates: It was no accident that our lives intersected, as we are from the same soul group, with symbiotic life purposes. We were brought together in our Earth life to help each other grow, learn, and love. Sometimes that meant painful situations that tested our patience and ability to forgive each other. I sincerely apologize for any pain I inflicted upon you. At each moment, I was doing the best I could. At times, I fell very short of my potential. I hope that you will release any anger that you are holding toward me, for your own sake... not for mine. I hope that, in some ways, I helped you grow and learn.

6.) I am not dead: Only my physical body is gone, and I now know that our bodies are just a small part of who we really are. I am aware that you miss my voice and physical presence, but my soul and spirit are very much alive! The times when you've felt my energy, I really was there next to you, as I am now. We each have a unique energy fingerprint, and you recognize mine when I'm with you. Trust that feeling! I am actually more alive now than ever before. Gone are all the distractions and stressors that I allowed to rob me of the enjoyment of my life. Now I see how trivial everything was, and that all that ever mattered were the important priorities of love, family, friendship, caring, and helping. But I've also discovered how to turn my regrets into learning and growing. I ask you to do the same. I now see that I never had anything to fear. There is no death, and nothing bad can ever happen to anyone in spiritual truth. Of course, it's important to be smart and careful, and always follow your guidance. But please don't forsake joys because of fears, because there's truly nothing to fear.

This one also resonated with me on a lot of points, Sally....it's a very uplifting reading, and very encouraging, maybe something we can all resonate with to a certain extent...very good advice in this one, overall, for almost every aspect of life.

Another very apt reading Gail. Not all the cards are relevant to me but I do feel definite resonance with most of them. Once again, thank you for finding and taking the time to do these readings.

This week's reading is taken from the Archangel Power Tarot Deck:

1.) EPIPHANY: This card signals that you're on a quest to discover your true self! Meditation and quiet time provide great insight into the nature of your own heart and your life purpose. This is not a time of loneliness, but of inner joy and exploring your Divine light within. You may find a mentor who magically shows up at the right moment. It could also be that it's time for you to share your own spiritual journey with others who are seeking a mentor. Archangel Raziel holds up his lantern of enlightenment to welcome you to the starry mountaintop where self-discovery awaits. Consider life's mysteries, send quiet time alone, be a light to others, heed your own counsel. Wise advice is coming your way.

(Archangel Raziel watches over spiritual teachers and students who are looking for insight or to tap into their own inner knowledge. You can call upon him to assist you in understanding complicated metaphysical concepts. If you're finding it difficult to meditate, ask him to help quiet your mind, and allow your angels to bring you the spiritual insights you're seeking)

2.) 8 of ARIEL: You're doing excellent work! You take great pride in what you do. The energy and effort you put into your work financially supports you and also feels very rewarding. If you're considering changing jobs or careers, it will go very well. There is great motivation to be a success, and your willingness to invest in your long term goals will pay off. There is so much to learn. This card often indicates job training, going back to school, and attending seminars or creative classes. A choice you need to make might benefit from more research.

3.) QUEEN OF RAPHAEL: Your heart is your greatest strength. Expect relationships with others to develop to a new level. Someone is in the perfect position to help another person understand his or her own feelings. An immense love of home and family is also in evidence. Any psychic or intuitive information that arises is completely reliable. This card also indicates someone who is wise and kind, a loving and nurturing person with the ability to solve problems before they occur. Psychic, spiritual, understanding and giving. It may also indicate giving too much and a need for self-care.

4.) KING OF GABRIEL: This is all about the big picture. There is a great deal to be done, but your job is to come up with the grand vision. Leave the details to someone else. You can take risks because you have the experience and know-how to do so successfully. Those around you expect (and want) you to take the lead. Let your enthusiasm and natural charm shine thru. Creativity is the key to a successful endeavor. This card can also indicate a magnetic and determined leader, someone with broad vision who can motivate people to greatness. Inspirational, generous, forceful, ingenious, dramatic, driven, and enthusiastic. Genuine concern for the welfare of all.

5.) LEAP OF FAITH: Archangel Metatron brings you this card to encourage you to take a leap of faith. You are fully empowered to follow a new path in life that is full of excitement and wonder. The opportunities for evolution and growth are truly unlimited if you'll just have faith in yourself and believe in your dreams. You have only to take the first step to find yourself on the way to a happier new life. Your angels and guides will send helpful people to assist you as you go along. You're encouraged to be proactive in researching whatever information is required. Don't let a lack of experience or self-confidence hold you back. You are meant to have the joy you seek. Add'l meanings are; being self-assured and believing in yourself. Childlike innocence, and unending curiosity. Courage and following your heart.

6. DECISION: You are being called to break free of anything that is holding you back. Archangel Jophiel can help you release any feelings of helplessness or fear that are creating a sense of entrapment. The good news is that the limitations that you perceive as hindering your progress are self-created and therefore can be UNcreated. You can free yourself with the help of God and the angels. Negative thinking can keep you from moving in the direction of your heart's desire. Ask Archangel Jophiel to keep your thoughts flowing in a positive direction. Allow your spiritual wings to carry you away to the life of your dreams.

I'm SO glad it was a help, Sally.....I did really have reservations about writing those things down when I read them. I don't ever want any of my readings to cause anyone any sorrow or negative feelings. So thank you for letting me know, I really, really appreciate it. emoticon

I'm glad you did post that reading Gail. yes, I did feel a bit emotional but it actually hit the nail on the head. I was watching a drama on TV and someone was dying from an overdose and it really upset me. Your reading helped to set my mind at ease. It was also her son's birthday yesterday and that always brings everything to mind again but i don't want to forget her. i want to remember the good times as well as the bad so don't worry about upsetting me, there's no need.

The Archangel Power cards also resonated too. Then again, maybe it's Carol's reminder about Mars that's doing it but I have been very busy, so thank you for taking the time and trouble to do the readings. They are appreciated, even when they don't seem to have any relevance to me. They may well be relevant to some of our non-contributing watchers.

I almost didn't post this one, Sally.....I did not read what the cards were prior to posting it, and when I saw what the 3 'talking to heaven' cards said, I really, really hesitated....I did not want to dredge up any bad memories or sorrows for you and I was afraid what they said would bother you....so if they did, I truly apologize. That was the deck where the third card flipped out of the deck at me and I stewed about it for a bit once I saw the cards themselves....I just didn't know if I should post it or not, but then after going over them for a bit, they seemed to be uplifting and so I decided to go ahead....but if this happens again, I may not.....I was very divided about it.

My pendulum chose THREE decks tonight. Lord have mercy. So I intended to pull just 2 cards from each deck, only a third card from one of the decks literally jumped out at me, so I threw it in there, too, so there are 7 cards tonight for this reading. :)

A.) From the Native American Tarot Deck:

1.) #2- The Corn Maiden: The Corn Maiden equates to Isis veiled. The maiden, or virgin, is always masked. Thus, our lady is represented by this kachina, one of the spirits who gave the Pueblo all the treasures of life. Maize, or corn, is one of the precious gifts, considered the staff of life. Perfect ears were saved for sacred ceremonies. The Pueblo are not the only people who love this grain. Maize was grown by Native Americans all over North America, from the fertile mountains and woodlands of the East, to the deserts of the Southwest. It is a member of the grass family, zea mays rugosa, and grows almost anywhere with care.

The Corn Maiden shows a masked kachina kneeling at the task of grinding corn. Two corn plants spring up on her left, and the horns of a bison are on her right. To Isis, the gazelle is sacred, to Artemis, her alter ego, the stag, and to Native Americans, the bison is sacred. Our maiden kneels in the sand of the Southwest and the sacred mountains rise behind her.

This is the most spiritual form of Isis, the eternal virgin. She is the soul of light; the truth behind the veil. She is the menstrual, the blood, the flow, the possibility of form or manifestation, for this pubescent spirit, this virginal goddess, has latent within her all the potential of the goddess of fertility.

2.) #16-The Tower: There are pueblos, such as the ones cut out of the rock-walled Canyon de Chelly, that have been ruins since prehistory. Incessant hardship forced the inhabitants to move to more suitable sites. One successful site was the Acoma Pueblo, which sits like a fortress on a mesa some 400 feet above the New Mexico plains. Another, the Taos pueblo, nestled in the Sangra de Cristo Range, was settled about 700 years ago. When Coronado came to the Southwest approximately 90 pueblos were inhabited. Today only 30 are inhabited. Conflict with the Spanish and the Americans, intertribal warfare and chronic drought spelled out the demise and abandonment of the others.

One common characteristic is shared by all pueblos, from Taos to Hopi, whether they are sandstone structures on bluffs or adobe on the banks of the Rio Grande--they blend with their surroundings. Above all, a feeling of timelessness, a profound sense of antiquity, permeates these dwellings. However, that does not necessarily mean success.

The Tower shows a pueblo being destroyed. Lightning, the manifestation of the most destructive form of cosmic energy, decimates the structure. Two kachinas fall helplessly, and both the sun and moon shine down impotently.

The destruction here shows an emancipation from the confinement of established institutions of principles, rather than physical harm. Inherently, this card is the strongest destructive omen in the deck, the card of imminent change. Here also is a clear example that magical symbols must be read in a double sense--each interpretation contradicting the other.
-----------------------

B.) Talking to Heaven Tarot Deck

1.) I can now hear your thoughts and feelings so much more clearly than when I was living in my physical body. Back then, I was consumed with my own ego thoughts and distracted by my fears. Now that I'm free of those shackles, I can focus upon giving and loving. So whenever you'd like to talk, I can clearly hear you. Just think my name, and then trust the thoughts and feelings that you receive from me. Those are my communications with you. I totally respect your free will and would never impose my own will onto you. I only want what is best for you, so please know that I'm here when you wish to talk. I love you.

2.) Please don't relive my death in your mind, as from my perspective, it was very different from how you imagine. To me, it was like a dream that culminated in a very happy ending. Yes, I was so sad to leave you, our loved ones, and our life together. But I have to be honest and say that I am truly happy here. My soul is so enriched by all that I'm learning, and I'm still able to be with and help you. I am finally free of all earthly suffering, which allows me to love you even more than before. My life plan was designed with Divine wisdom, and that included the timing and the way in which I exited. It is the same with your life and everyone else's. It's exciting to finally know these truths and share them with you. Please know that I am truly sorry the mode of my passing brought pain to you. And yet, everything happened exactly as it was supposed to happen. You couldn't have stopped it or changed anything. There was no other way.

3.) You worried whether I suffered in my passing, and I'm here now to tell you that all physical pain is connected to the body. Now that my body has been laid to rest, I am completely pain free. Before, movement was slow and cumbersome. But now I am so light and free that I can be wherever I want with just a thought. Part of my life review has been to examine the source of my previous physical pain and to take responsibility (without guilt) for my role in manifesting those conditions. I now see that the path of pain was a choice my soul made, and I am learning great lessons of compassion and empowerment from that path.
--------------------------------------

C.) Archangel Power Tarot Cards:

1.) 6 of Ariel: There are great blessings in giving and receiving. Material needs get fulfilled in magical and unexpected ways. If you're the recipient of such a loving gift, then accept it with gratitude and humility. If you have the means to give to those in need, then do so in a compassionate way without asking for anything in return. Keep in mind that gifts do not always have to be financial but can be energetic or take the form of help based on experience. When giving to others, consider what they truly need. Make gifts that don't promote dependency, but rather that are well thought out and empower the recipients going forward.

2.) Knight of Gabriel: It's time to take action. This situation needs your full and undivided focus and quick attention. Fortunately, you probably can't wait to get started! Think things thru thoroughly and then act with speed and certainty. You will instinctively know what direction to move in because you will feel such great passion for the cause! This card can also indicate someone who has great self-confidence and is always ready for a new adventure, a person who is loyal and generous of spirit and courageous, enthusiastic, charismatic, and impulsive.

"I want to know all God's thoughts; all the rest are just details." ~~ Albert Einstein

"Consciousness, seeking to know itself, therefore knows you....Each consciousness is, therefore, cherished and individually protected."~~Seth

Today's reading (finally....lol) is from the Archangel Power Tarot Deck by Doreen Virtue/Radleigh Valentine. I believe this is the first reading I've done where the bulk of the reading was from the major arcana of the deck, that surprised me. But enjoy, everyone!
----------------------------

1.) 5 of Raphael: Everything happens for a reason! You may currently be focused on a loss, but when this card is drawn, there is something positive waiting for you. Things may not have turned out the way you expected, but now's the time to trust that the Universe has something better in store for you! Regret simply does not serve you now. Embrace changes as the guiding hand of your angels sending you in a new direction with your long term happiness in mind. This card encourages you to have tenderness toward others, be willing to change your focus, and to have the wisdom to reach out to loved ones.

2.) #16--Change Your Life: It's time to change your life! This card represents a need to leave behind old belief systems and ways of doing things that have become stale and out of date. When this card presents itself, the Universe is telling you that you can no longer procrastinate on making the changes you know in your own heart you need to make. Suddenly, everything is very clear to you. Change is inevitable if you're to grow and evolve. Embrace this new direction in your life as liberating and exciting! You needn't go thru this transformation alone. Archangel Chamuel can help you find the new path and meaning in your life that you long for. This card may also indicate awakening, a new revelation that offers freedom, and unexpected transformation and life experiences. (Archangel Chamuel is said to observe the world from a very high vantage point. This gives him the ability to see opportunities that you may be missing. Call upon him whenever you're searching for something. With his super angelic vision, he can clearly find a path that will lead your life in a new and exciting direction.)

3.) #21--The World: Congratulations, you've done a wonderful job! A project or situation in your life has now come to a happy conclusion, and there is a sense of completion and satisfaction. It may be time to move on to something new, but it's all right to pause and enjoy this amazing moment. Your work with Archangel Michael has brought you to a new level of spiritual growth and evolution. You're at a place of enlightenment and profound understanding of the Universe. Remember to speak words of gratitude to your friends, family, and the angels in recognition of their help. (Archangel Michael's name means 'he who is like God.' He knows the Divine life purpose of every soul on earth. If you're uncertain as to YOUR purpose in life, you can call upon this beloved archangel to provide you with clear and understandable information on this topic. Ask Michael for revelations on what steps to take next and how to fully be the person you came to this planet to be.)

4.) 5 of Michael: This situation doesn't serve you. Stop and reconsider if the actions you're planning are worth your time and energy. You may very well 'win the day', but there is a strong possibility that there won't be much to celebrate in the end. Ask your angels if there are other, more uplifting paths you might follow. There is a lot of negative energy coming from the people involved in this situation that doesn't match your vibration. Archangel Michael can help you vacuum away all that negativity. Consider releasing your attachment to the outcome as too draining. Make more optimistic plans. Even if things didn't turn out the way you're hoped, value what you've learned and try again with your improved information. This card can indicate negative thinking, wasted energy, or a need for greater self-awareness.

5.) #5--Divine Guidance: There is no need to be alone! There are amazing people around you from whom you would gain great strength and support. Seek out those who are like-minded and who share your beliefs and ideals. Make new friends who would benefit from your insights and affection. Take a class on spirituality, or join an organization that aims to do good in the world. Archangel Sandalphon can help you find the meaning you're seeking in your life. Be open to other peoples' ideas and perspectives, but don't be bound by them. If you're taking a very traditional approach to your challenges, and things just don't seem to be moving forward, then it might be time to think outside the box. On the other hand, if your attempts to be creative are merely reinventing the wheel, perhaps the old fashioned way would be better. (Archangel Sandalphon is the angel who watches over the accumulation of metaphysical and spiritual knowledge. If you're seeking to enrich your inner world, he can help you find others who are similarly inclined and also searching. Archangel Sandalphon is known for delivering prayers from earth to heaven. Call upon him to help when you feel your prayers need an extra boost.)

6.) #19- The Sun: Life is wonderful. Great things are headed your way, and your plans will succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Keep your thoughts and words positive and you will thrive. Believe in yourself and those around you during this magical time in your life. Archangel Uriel brings brilliant epiphanies to those who ask for his help. Inspiring new ideas lead the way to abundance and happiness. Public recognition or awards are also very possible at this time. (Uriel is known for brilliant ideas that can come in golden flashes of light. He is also associated with emotional healing and understanding.) This card can indicate happiness, trustworthy relationships, understanding of oneself, and personal satisfaction.

7.) #11- Strength: You have great strength and compassion. The kindness and understanding that you give to others are a blessed gift. However, it is equally important to show gentleness toward yourself. You may see aspects within you that cause you worry or impatience. But every person is a child of God. It is by balancing all aspects of yourself with love and mercy that you learn to exhibit those same qualities to people around you. You are far stronger that you may believe. The situation you find yourself in requires a very soft and sensitive approach. Archangel Ariel can help you stay strong in the face of any challenge. This card is indicative of self-control, patience, self-confidence, forgiveness, inner strength, and influence thru kindness. (Ariel is the angel known for protecting animals, the environment, and those who seek to safeguard our world. Her name means 'lioness of God', and she can inspire great courage in the hearts of those who call upon her. Archangel Ariel is also known to be an angel of manifesting the essentials of daily life. Call upon Ariel if you're feeling uncertain or experiencing a lack of confidence, and she will help you get in touch with your own inner strength.)

That's awesome, Carol, you have a way of mining gold from things that don't make sense to other people, that's really cool, I think. But I'm glad you took those points from the reading, after you spotlighted them, it made sense. I was at a total loss. LOL

Thank you for the Native American card reading. I believe the reading can apply to my new venture into Vedic astrology. Certainly the 7 of Shields meaning of growth through struggle and hard work encourages continuing even when there is had work, and the Counting Coup meaning of overcoming opposition against great odds for the love of it also applies here. I smiled over Victory as a warning to avoid extreme ambition; certainly learning this system will take a great deal of time and I can already see mastery of the system being way down the road. Avoiding self deception is always wish in the divining arts, and certainly this journey is for personal and intellectual gain with more work than pleasure ahead. But the timing is right for a new beginning. The last comment about the threshold of life and death may indicate the link between the heavens and the earth in the astrological pursuits.

I take this all as encouragement that this is the time to pursue these studies.

Thanks again Gail!

Carol

Kind of interesting little bits of Native American legends and beliefs, aren't they? I agree, re: the descriptions vs the actual essence of the cards themselves. I found the descriptions a lot more enjoyable. The meanings kinda flummoxed me, too....nothing really struck any sort of chord at all. LOL

An interesting reading Gail. I love the descriptions of the cards. I'm a bit flummoxed though as to their relevance but I love the stories attached. They are speaking more to me than the 'essence' descriptions. I'm going to print this off and study it more later.

Thank you for doing this, it must take quite a bit of time.

Fell by the wayside last year but back on track now.

This week's reading is from the Native American Tarot Deck (Magda and J. A. Gonzalez).
I'd intended to draw 5 cards but 2 others flipped right out of the deck and landed on the table so figured that was a hint to toss them in, too. LOL

1.) 7 of Shields: TRAIL OF TEARS. In May of 1838, all the Cherokees that could be found in Smoky Mountain country - men, women, and children - were arrested, dragged from their homes, herded at bayonet point into stockades and forced to walk a journey that has been described by eye witnesses as the most brutal order in the history of American warfare. The journey lasted until March 26, 1839, when they reached their exile in what was to become known as Indian Territory. The Cherokee called this journey 'The Trail of Tears'.

The 7 of Shields shows a mother and son and their dog, all loaded down with the family belongings, being herded by a dragoon on horseback. The sky threatens an oncoming winter storm. In Dec. 1838, the marchers were hit by a blizzard that ravaged them severely. From then on the suffering and rising death toll were incessant.

A full quarter of those who began perished along the way. But the Cherokee as a nation did not perish. Today, they are the most numerous of any tribe. Being farmers as well as hunters they did not fare as badly as some in the transition to their new land and new life.

The essence of the 7 card is growth thru struggle and hard work, with regret over past mistakes, but with ultimate success and gain. Like the old adage, when two people receive a lemon one may see it only as sour fruit, while the other makes lemonade.
---------------------
2.) 7 of Pipes: COUNTING COUP: In war, tribe attacked neighboring tribe, enemies tortured and killed out of revenge, and battles were fought over hunting grounds or to capture horses. Yet, war was not held merely to kill. The most highly rated deeds were those of valor and no Native American, Plains or otherwise, went into battle without the hope of gaining some personal glory. This was the young man's way.

Touching a live enemy in battle with hand, stick, or lance was the height of bravery. A warrior could kill from afar with no personal danger. Hence, killing or scalping was not considered as courageous as touching, 'counting coup'.

'Coup' is derived from the French word for 'hit' or 'strike', and special sticks were used that had the look of an old European shepherd's staff. After a battle or raid, warriors returning home would recite their deeds of valor. Few men dared lie. Under the strict rules of tribal warfare, anyone caught in such a lie faced punishment ranging from ridicule to ostracism.

Counting Coup shows a buckskin-clad, war-painted warrior brandishing a coup stick astride a buckskin-colored pony. He kicks a rifle-wielding brave, causing a misfire in the air. This brave on foot wears a breechclout and has guano-dyed hair. The other brave on foot also wears a breechclout, waves a stone-headed club and holds a shield before him.

The essence of Counting Coup is in overcoming opposition against great odds for the love of it.
-------------------------------
3) 6 of Pipes: VICTORY. One of the primary arts of most Native Americans, even more important than the arts of cultivation and hunting, was war. The ultimate end of war to the European was death and destruction - to the Native American, the end was honor. Altho death is an inseparable part of war the emphasis was grossly shifted from honor to destruction with the coming of the white man.

In the often vicious war between the U. S. and the Native American tribes, one of the greatest victories achieved by the red man was at a tree-straggled stream known by the Dakotas as Greasy Grass River, and by the Crows as the Little Big Horn. The victory occurred in 1876, and the U. S., pumping itself up for a centennial celebration, was incensed by the 'massacre'.

The battle lasted less than an hour. The U.S. troops died to the last man. Their leader was a rash young colonel known as Custer. It was the high point of Native American resistance and was also the beginning of the end. The U.S. gov't decided it was time to go all out against the 'bloody savages'.

Victory shows Custer in buckskin, with a dashing red bandage, a drawn pistol, and an arrow in his side. Two troopers are at his feet, one kneeling and firing, the other sprawling dazed and wounded. Sitting Bull and four of his warriors are attacking.

The essence of Victory is a warning to avoid extreme ambition. Moderation is the key in reaching one's aims and goals.
---------------------------------
4.) 8 of Vessels: INDOLENCE. This card has many hidden facets. It has been labeled by various sources as Indolence, the name we have adopted, as well as Dejection, Desertion, Extravagance and Imbalance or Lack of Harmony. As far as the Native American is concerned, all of the above titles can be accepted. In the dehumanization that seems to inevitably come with a technological society, the people who are one with nature and their own myths are alien. They are victims of misunderstandings and subsequent myths not of their making.

The Native American has suffered three great misnomers: 'the noble red man', the Cooperesque hero; 'the bloody savage', 'the only good injun is a dead injun' syndrome; and the last and longest lived, 'the no good drunken Indian'. All of these titles are untrue generalities perceived thru eyes that could not, or would not, see the way the Native Americans really were.

The last title takes on a variety of modern manifestations. For example, there are 5 stereotypes, each created thru different conditioning. The dropout sees himself as a part of a race of inherent losers and acts accordingly. The clown considers being an 'Indian' a joke and acts on that self image. The apple is to the red man what the 'oreo' is to the black. The Boy Scout is proud of what he is but has no conception of how to act as a Native American. Finally, the militant is more true to form, but tends to be a fanatic.

Indolence shows a modern Native American cowboy, obviously under the influence of alcohol, a bottle empty in his grasp. He sits propped up against a corral in which a Brahma bull is penned. The sacred mountains rise in the distance.

The essence of Indolence is a warning to curtail self-deception. Use logic to anticipate the reactions to your actions. Listen to your inner voice.
------------------------------------
5.) 6 of Blades: JOURNEY. Rivers and trails were the Native American highways. Journeys were made by vessel, horse or foot. Vessels included the canoe, which could be made of a burned out log, caulked planks or birch bark. However, the Native American did not travel solely on the physical plane. The tribes of the North American continent existed in a spiritual world. One could travel in visions, in dreams and in spirit. A dream could keep a man or a tribe from going to war or provide enough impetus to pack all belongings and move to another hunting ground.

One journey could easily lead to another. A young man's vision quest, for example, was a journey into his soul that mapped out the direction the rest of his life would take on a mundane or spiritual level.

Journey shows a brave paddling his canoe, silhouetted against distant hills and a setting sun. The essence of Journey is travel for gain, but not necessarily for pleasure. Journey is a time for expansion on all levels.
---------------------------
6.) 4 of Vessels: PREGNANCY. Many Native American tribes, including the Gros Ventres of Montana and the Chiricahua Apache of southern Arizona, believed that pregnancy could not occur as the result of a single sex act. Repeated acts over a period of time were deemed necessary. However, when an Apache woman noticed the first signs of pregnancy, she ceased all sexual activities until the child was born in order to prevent injury to the fetus. The Hopi, on the other hand, were convinced that continued intercourse was good for both the prospective mother and the baby. It was likened to irrigating a crop - if a man started to make a baby and then stopped his wife would have difficulties.

Because infant mortality was alarmingly high and many women died in childbirth, there were a vast and varied range of taboos used to ensure safe delivery. These included many food taboos, altho a pregnant woman's cravings were totally and even extravagantly indulged. The more a man did for his pregnant wife, the higher his esteem, especially by the women of his band.

Pregnancy shows a young woman wrapped protectively in a flowing shawl. A Mona Lisa smile is on her face and the dogwood tree is in bloom behind her - a sure sign of spring. The obvious essence of Pregnancy is the time for new beginnings, a time for keeping calm and planning carefully for the future.
----------------------------------------
7/) THE MOON. Native Americans measured their years by months and their months by the moon cycle, approximately 28 days from one full moon to the next. The same method was used by the wiccans and druids of Europe. Some tribes believed the sun and moon were twin brothers; others, paralleling Celtic beliefs, believed that they were brother and sister. To all, the moon had many faces and had to be courted for its blessings. Even the wolves and coyotes, brothers of the trickster, paid homage to the moon.

The Moon card shows coyotes in the foothills serenading three of the moon's faces. To some the moon was a huntress, as illustrated on the card.

The new year starts, in the Native American calendar, with the winter solstice. To show the universality of the reverence for the moon, we will give both eastern Woodland moons and their wiccan counterparts. Winter solstice came with the White Hare Moon, or Wolf Moon. Spring came with the vernal equinox and the Corn Planting Moon, or Seed Moon. Summer starts at summer solstice and the Green Corn Moon, or Dyad Moon. Autumn comes with the autumnal equinox, and the Tobacco Moon, or Barley Moon. There are two other moons in each season, each with their own descriptive names. Moon names differed from tribe to tribe, depending on the environment.

The moon represents the most universal of planets, the moon partaking of the highest and lowest and all the space in between them. In her highest aspect, she links the human and divine, In the lowest, she is the waning moon, the witch's moon, the culmination of matter of all superior forms. Here is represented the threshold of life and death.

You're welcome, Carol, I'm glad you found some of it worthwhile. I think all of us have a bit of the 'rabbit in us, tho. Given how our brains seem to work in this reality, our egos seem to always want to keep our brains mired either in rehashing the past or worrying about the future, which confuses our bodily mechanisms. Instead of only looking at the here and now, and reacting to just that, our brains always want us to react to some past sorrow or pain or act, and feel either guilty or melancholy or angry, or invest energy in all of the 'what ifs' that *could* happen but which are not reality at all in this present moment, and keep our brains mired in imagined fears. It just seems to be a part of being human. But we don't realize how our emotions and thoughts affect how our bodies function in the 'now'.....if we can manage to only concentrate on the 'now', and deal with what is right in front of us in our own personal experience in *this* present moment, instead of looking at all of the 'out there' or the 'what if' or all that, it helps our bodies function better. When we react, in our heads, with fear, trepidation, regret, guilt, melancholy, etc., we affect our immune system and also our stress hormones....so we keep our body deluged with stress reactions that are really only from imaginary fears and feelings and disrupt its normal healing abilities and balance.

But it's SO hard to do and takes constant, repetitive practice, mentally and emotionally.....and I don't know that any human has ever been able to keep that mind in line each and every moment, unless it might be Jesus! LOL I know it's a real struggle for me, also. I admire people who can do this more or less routinely, I am not *there* yet, but that is what I am trying to work toward. Might take me a few more lifetimes, just sayin'....LOL

Thank you for the reading, Gail. This reading resonated with me along a couple lines. One was to get busy with projects that have been neglected. This certainly applies to some of the sorting of items that are still packed from our move nearly three years ago. The organization of details could apply there or to the new work I'm doing with Vedic astrology. I do need to look at the bigger picture as I watch my family's lives evolving. And I do have a tendency to act as the Fear Caller; I need to stay more positive, especially regarding my husband's health. I will continue to look for these in my life. Thanks again.

It is a pretty complex reading, isn't it, Sally? This deck was created by Jamie Sams and David Carson, with illustrations by Angela Werneke. I like how they incorporate the legends and lore within the lessons of the cards. Lots of thought provoking material here, tho.....

Thank you for the reading Gail.

I think I shall have to mull this one over. It feels like a very strong message in there but I'm not sure just how it works. There are a whole load of warnings there and then a 'never mind the warnings' 'get on and do' whatever it is.

I'll come back on this one when I can see what transpires. No wonder you had bother getting it.

That's cool, Carol! I just think it's wonderful that you are there to be go-between for both your daughter and your granddaughter. I'm sure your grand will appreciate that even more as she gets older, I think sometimes kids have to just learn and grow and make their own mistakes along the way before they can fully appreciate the wisdom of their elders. It takes a long time, sometimes. But I'm sure you'll be vindicated more and more as she grows.

My poor pendulum just wasn't feeling it today. LOL I had to go back several times before I even got a minimal 'hit' on a deck, and it was on the Medicine Card deck this time, so that's what I'm using for this reading. I pulled 5 cards for this one.
--------------------

1.) BEAVER: Beaver is the 'doer' in the animal kingdom. Beaver medicine is akin to water and earth energy, and incorporates a strong sense of family and home. If you were to look at the dams that block woodland streams, you would find several entrances and exits. In building its home, Beaver always leaves itself many alternative escape routes. This practice is a lesson to us all to not paint ourselves into corners. If we eliminate our alternatives, we dam the flow of experience in our lives. A doer is characterized by industriousness, and Beaver knows that limitation cancels productivity.

Beaver is armed with very sharp teeth that are capable of felling whole trees. Imagine what those teeth could do with limbs of predators. From the rear, Beaver is armed with a paddle-like tail that aids in swimming as well as guarding its behind. This tiny mammal is well equipped to protects its creation.

To understand Beaver medicine, you might take a look at the power of working and attaining a sense of achievement. In building a dream, teamwork is necessary. To accomplish a goal with others involves working with the group mind. Group mind constitutes harmony of the highest order, without individual egos getting in the way. Each partner in the project honors the talents and abilities of the others, and knows how to complete the piece of the puzzle that belongs to them. In working well with others, a sense of community is achieved and unity ensues.

If Beaver has appeared in your spread, it may be time to put your ideas into action or to complete some project that has been neglected. The Beaver card could also be asking you to settle differences with fellow workers or friends. Beaver tells you to look for alternative solutions to life's challenges and to protect the creations which you put your love and energy into.

Sometimes Beaver brings you a warning to watch your back. If this is the message, you will know it by the position in which the card falls in your spread. If the card falls in the South position, it is to remind your child-like self that trusting is okay but caution is necessary. Use discernment and all will be fine.
-----------------------------
2.) OPOSSUM: Opossum's greatest form of protection is to play dead. In doing this Opossum confuses many a predator into believing that the game is over. Oftentimes the confused rival walks away or looks the other direction for a moment, and Opossum runs to safety.

Opossum medicine uses a great deal of strategy. If all else fails, Opossum plays dead. It has the ability to fight with its claws and teeth, but it rarely uses this form of protection. Instead, the supreme strategy of diversion is constantly employed when things get a little too hard to handle. Opossum has developed an act that would receive an Academy Award in the animal kingdom. The musk of the death scent is excreted at will, adding to the master play that sends enemies on many trails of confusion.

If Opossum has turned up in your cards, you are being asked to use strategy in some present situation. Rely upon your instincts for the best way out of a tight corner. If you have to pretend to be apathetic or unafraid, do it! Oftentimes if you refuse to struggle or show that hurtful words bother you, your taunter will see no further fun in the game. Warriors have used Opossum medicine for centuries, playing dead when the enemy nears and outnumbers them. Then, in a flash, when the enemy is least expecting it, the war cry is heard. The fright of this serves to further confuse the unsuspecting opposition. Victory is sweet when the strategy is one of mental as well as physical prowess.

Opossum may be relaying to you that you are to expect the unexpected and be clever in achieving your victory. This could be a victory over a bothersome salesman or a nosy neighbor. In essence, Opossum is beckoning you to use your brain, your sense of drama, and surprise -- to leap over some barrier in your progress.
---------------------
3.) MOUSE: Mouse says, 'I will touch everything with my whiskers in order to know it.' Paradoxically, this is both a great power and a great weakness. It is good medicine to see up close. It is good medicine to pay attention to detail, but it is bad medicine to chew every little thing to pieces.

Mouse has many predatory enemies, including birds, snakes, and cats. Since Mouse is food for so many, it has a highly developed sense of danger at every turn. So-called civilization is a highly complex set of components which calls for more and more organizational skills and scrutiny to detail every year. Mouse is a powerful medicine to have in these modern times. Things that might appear insignificant to others take on enormous proportions to a Mouse.

Mouse people anger many other medicine types because they appear to be nit-pickers. Mouse people will spot the lint on your coat, even if it matches in color. They will try to convince you that the simplest task is fraught with difficulty. They are fixated on methodology. They sort and categorize and file away for later use. They may seem like they are hoarding, but this is the furthest thing from Mouse's mind. They are merely putting everything in order so that they will be able to explore it more carefully at a later date.

The chiefs tell us that without Mouse, there would be no systemization of knowledge. Mouse ended Renaissance man and harkened in the age of specialization. Mouse knew from the very beginning that 'there is always more to learn'. One can always delve deeper and deeper and deeper.

If your personal medicine is Mouse, you may be fearful of life but very well organized, with a compartment for everything. You should try to see a larger picture than the one staring you in the face. Develop largesse of spirit. Try to become aware of the Great Dance of Life. Realize that even though you may be sitting in Los Angeles, there is also a New York, a Moon, a solar system, a galaxy, and an infinite universe. Jump high, little friend. You will glimpse the Sacred Mountain.

If Mouse is in your spread, its medicine is telling you to scrutinize. Look at yourself and others carefully. Maybe that big hunk of cheese sitting on a trigger will spring a deadly trap. Maybe the cat is in the pantry waiting for you. Maybe someone to whom you have delegated authority, such as a doctor, a lawyer, or even a plumber, is not doing the job faithfully. The message is to see what is right before your eyes and to take action accordingly.
-----------------------------
4.) RABBIT: A long time ago -- no one really knows how long ago it was -- Rabbit was a brave and fearless warrior. Rabbit was befriended by Eye Walker, a witch. The witch and Rabbit spent much time together sharing and talking. The two were very close.

One day Eye Walker and Rabbit were walking along and they sat down on the trail to rest. Rabbit said, 'I'm thirsty'. Eye Walker picked up a leaf, blew on it, and then handed Rabbit a gourd of water. Rabbit drank the water but didn't say anything. Then Rabbit said, 'I'm hungry.' Eye Walker picked up a stone and blew on it and changed it to a turnip. She gave the turnip to Rabbit to eat. Rabbit tasted it and then ate the turnip with relish. But still Rabbit didn't say anything.

The two continued along the trail, which led into the mountains. Near the top, Rabbit tripped and fell and rolled almost to the bottom. Rabbit was in very sad condition when Eye Walker got to him. She used a magic salve on Rabbit to heal his great pain and mend his broken bones. Rabbit didn't say anything.

Several days later Eye Walker went searching for her friend. She searched high and low but Rabbit was nowhere to be found. Finally Eye Walker gave up. She met Rabbit quite by accident one day. 'Rabbit, why are you hiding and avoiding me?' the witch asked. 'Because I am afraid of you. I am afraid of magic.' answered Rabbit, cowering. 'Leave me alone!'

'I see', said Eye Walker. 'I have used my magical powers on your behalf and now you turn on me and refuse my friendship.' 'I want nothing more to do with you or your powers', Rabbit continued. Rabbit did not even see the tears his words were bringing to Eye Walker's eyes. 'I hope we never meet and that I never see you again', Rabbit continued.

'Rabbit', said Eye Walker. 'We were once great friends and companions but no more. It is within my power to destroy you, but because of the past and the medicines we have shared together I will not do this. But from this day forward I lay a curse on you and your tribe. From now on, you will call your fears and your fears will come to you. Be on your way, for the sweet medicine that bound us together as friends is broken.'

Now Rabbit is the Fear Caller. He goes out and shouts, 'Eagle, I am so afraid of you'. If Eagle doesn't hear him, Rabbit calls louder, 'Eagle, stay away from me!' Eagle, now hearing Rabbit, comes and eats him. Rabbit calls bobcats, wolves, coyotes, and even snakes until they come.

As this story shows, Rabbit medicine people are so afraid of tragedy, illness, disaster, and 'being taken' that they call those very fears to them to teach them lessons. The keynote here is: what you resist will persist! What you fear most is what you will become.

Here is the lesson. If you pulled Rabbit, stop talking about horrible things happening and get rid of 'what if' in your vocabulary. This card may signal a time of worry about the future or of trying to exercise your control over that which is not yet in form -- the future. STOP NOW. Write your fears down and be willing to feel them. Breathe into them, and feel them running thru your body into Mother Earth as a give-away.
-------------------------------
5.) SNAKE: Snake medicine people are very rare. Their initiation involves experiences and living thru multiple snake bites, which allows them to transmute all poisons, be they mental, physical, spiritual, or emotional. The power of snake medicine is the power of creation, for it embodies sexuality, psychic energy, alchemy, reproduction, and ascension (or immortality).

The transmutation of the life-death-rebirth cycle is exemplified by the shedding of the Snake's skin. It is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness, and the ability to experience anything willingly and without resistance. It is the knowledge that all things are equal in creation, and that those things which might be experienced as poison can be eaten, ingested, integrated, and transmuted if one has the proper state of mind. Thoth, the Atlantean who later returned as Hermes and was the father of alchemy, used the symbology of two snakes intertwining around a sword to represent healing. Complete understanding and acceptance of the male and female within each organism creates a melding of the two into one, thereby producing divine energy.

This medicine teaches you on a personal level that you are a universal being. Thru accepting all aspects of your life, you can bring about the transmutation of the fire medicine. This fire energy, when functioning on the material plane, creates passion, desire, procreation and physical vitality. On the emotional plane, it becomes ambition, creation, resolution, and dreams. On the mental plane it becomes intellect, power, charisma, and leadership. When this snake energy reaches into the spiritual plane, it becomes wisdom, understanding, wholeness, and connection to the Great Spirit. If you have chosen this symbol, there is a need within you to transmute some action, thought, or desire so that wholeness may be achieved. This is heavy magic, but remember, magic is no more than a change in consciousness. Become the magician or the enchantress; transmute the energy and accept the power of fire.

Just a quick jump in about the reading: you mentioned Leo and the success of a venture. My granddaughter is a multiple-Leo and will be completing her schooling next week, so I guess we could add her (connected to me) on that one. This same granddaughter, talking to me the other night, told me she really regrets not listening to what I tried to tell her about finishing high school and learning to work within systems even when she thought she didn't need them. I feel just a little vindicated - and that my efforts with her have finally paid off, at least to some degree. Sounds as though this reading his a lot of things on the head. (No, not my hitting my head.)

I can see what you mean about the big pharma companies. In the UK most of the cholesterol drugs have come out of patent so the companies can't charge the NHS exorbitant prices for the drugs and now they've come with one called, I think, evolumab or evolutab, something like that, a more 'sophisticated' cholesterol drug which is supposed to reduce the chance of heart attack. Even our doctors are saying it's a con and most people wouldn't benefit from using it. Like you I'm very sceptical about big business and politicians. they are all very busy feathering their own little and not so little nests. harrumph!!!

I laughed when I read that, too, Sally. First thought in my own head was you and lain, and your book! LOL I always think of Cayce when it comes to herbal and holistic remedies, but only because that's what most of his writing were in reference to, since he did so many long distance diagnoses of medical conditions, etc. and his secretary wrote them all down in case file format and kept them all. The ARE foundation has them all archived and I guess a lot of people still use them, but the ingredients are so old fashioned that people can only get them, anymore, from specific formularies who will mix them up for people specifically for the Cayce remedies, so I think to even do any of them you have to get the remedy itself from the ARE and then use those formularies online to order the ingredients to fulfill them. Cayce was big on coffee enemas....he called them 'high colonics'. LMAO Somehow, I just can't fathom that at all, I always laugh and then cringe when I think of something like that. LOL

But the Culpepper book sounds great. I happen to agree, re: the old style remedies having a lot of relevance. I truly think that when big pharma became a 'thing' in the world, they made a very concerted effort to not only suppress the old remedies (because people were able to do them on their own with every day ingredients, so they did not have to pay some company for them) and modern science pretty much overran them in favor of being the more 'enlightened' entity, and so began to denigrate what they considered 'primitive' things....which I don't think are 'primitive' at all, really. I believe that everything we need for health has already been given to us in this world, but corporate greed kind of took over and overran it all for patents and profits.

In that vein, the big pharma companies in Arizona lobbied richly to defeat the passage of a marijuana bill in that state, paying millions of dollars to sway people into thinking that legalizing marijuana would spell the demise of civilization, and it worked, I guess the voters ended up turning it down. But now those same companies are genetically modifying marijuana and trying to now come up with a synthetic marijuana (which they can patent, of course, and grow rich from) that they want the state to 'legalize' down the road....I believe this is what has happened with most of the old style remedies. Big pharma cannot patent it, if it comes in its original plant form, because at least for now, it is illegal to patent an actual 'plant' in its original form (altho who knows....hell, this day and age, I can see them trying to override that, also, so they can charge people for merely using or having plants, or prevent people from having plants at all....LOL) so in a way, that testifies to the validity of the old style remedies and such, if corporate industries have worked so hard to repress and negate them....merely MY own opinion, you understand. If it works, the corporate empire does not want it to be freely available to the common man, but they DO want to own it all so they can charge you for it. Something really wrong with this picture....LOL But it's not such a stretch, since companies like Nestle are already doing this with water across the globe....buying up water rights in various communities, bottling the water, then selling it back to the people for exorbitant prices....so if they have been successful in doing this with water, it's a sure bet they want to do it with every other commodity on the face of the planet, also....some communities have actually managed to make it legal for their local powers to 'own' the air space, in a bid to prevent companies from installing wind turbines.....I think people need to kinda wake up to what's going on with this stuff. I often wonder if that isn't why they keep everyone so concentrated on just the ridiculous political stuff, to divert peoples' attention away from what they are actually doing, in this regard.....while we're all disputing about some political candidate or another, or political scandal, meanwhile these corporations are silently going about their business of making themselves owners of the air, water, and food across the globe right under peoples' noses......

Thank you for this reading Gail. I have to admit I smiled quite a bit throughout this. The first card I did think pertained more to Carol as I think she has too. It sounded very like her new venture into Vedic astrology. However, the description of the characteristics of the Ace of Swords amused me. I too had, before it disappeared in a flood of grey, a dark brunette hair colour and my eyes are greenish hazel. The other thing is Swords is Spades from a modern deck so it would appear Carol and I and perhaps you too, I seem to recall brown hair, have got it 'In Spades', so to speak. Not quite sure what It is though, lol. Then I saw the card with the Leo sign attached, being held in check by the 'maiden'. Iain is a Leo, I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this, and understand my smiles, lol.

It will be interesting to see how this week turns out though.

I haven't seen any Edward Cayce books here but I have a modern copy of Culpepper's Herbal. He was a famous herbalist in around 1700. The book has drawings of each plant and the description he gave for each of the plants. Some are probably ridiculous but others are very relevant.

Awesome, Carol, that's right, re: your Vedic adventure, I didn't even think of that, but you're right! How awesome is that? I'm glad you liked it, tho, it is a really encouraging reading, I think. I only remembered Sally and her book so when I kept seeing all the 'new adventure' and 'project' stuff, that was the first thing in my mind. I think that's pretty cool....sounds like you both are gonna be really successful with your ventures!

Gail, this reading comes very close to home for me. I happen to have brown hair (ok, mixed with gray but still some brown and then there's the Revlon . . .) and I also have hazel eyes. I feel as though most of this reflects and encourages my work with the Vedic astrology, an intellectual exercise, learning new information, and using it to clarify my own thinking and help others. I will take this as encouragement of being on the right path and thank you very much.

O, you're welcome, Sally....I didn't realize you'd left a comment, too, so sorry for not responding before this. It's really interesting, finding out about the old herbal remedies, have you ever checked out the ones by Edgar Cayce? Some of his ingredients are no longer available except at particular formularies, but I agree with you, re: the value of them.

Today's reading is also a mix. My pendulum has become bipolar. LOL I have 2 cards from the Angel tarot deck by Virtue and Valentine, and 4 cards from the standard old style tarot deck.
-------------

1.) 8 of Earth: Your heart is in your work or studies. You've committed to learning about your career, vocation, or project. You're definitely on the right track. Your dedication, skill, and talents are appreciated and will soon be rewarded. Still there's more to learn. Consider taking classes related to your interests or profession. A serious commitment to research or study is now called for. It may be time to go back to school. (Add'l meanings are: craftsmanship, apprenticeship, diligence, and attention to detail.)

2.) 6 of Earth: Abundance is on the way. The universe loves a grateful heart and rewards gratitude with more abundance. You may be the recipient of this bounty, or YOU may be the giver. Gifts may be monetary or take some other form, such as an opportunity, advice, or so forth. New career opportunities present themselves involving those who can be relied upon to be fair and responsible. Promotions, bonuses, and financial rewards are all possible at this time. (Add'l meanings: Profit sharing, receiving a loan, paying off debts, and celebration of a job well done.)

3.) Judgment: Ruled by Pluto, the lord of the underworld, an angel sounds a trumpet, suggestive of the final judgment. This is a card of transformation. A fresh start is possible. It is time to forgive and forget, or perhaps to do some soul searching. A promotion may be in the works. There is an absolute nature to the final judgment of legend that is imbued in this judgment card. When this card appears in your tarot reading rest assured that absolutes are ready to take place. *Also, ironically, when the Ace of Swords is included in conjunction with this card, be prepared to give an interview, or a legal testimony or lecture that has a profound impact on the lives of many people.*
*Other meanings of this card, in past, present, and future positions, can also be found at keen.com, a tarot website that has a lot of further information.*

4.) Ace of Swords: The suit of Swords represents the more intellectual side of life -- situations where reason prevails over emotions. Swords cut thru muddled thought and bring sudden clarity. They are associated with the element of air and the air signs of the Zodiac: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. Swords usually indicate people with brown hair and green, hazel, or brown eyes. They also suggest people who are good communicators. Everything is springing to life in this card. It can indicate virility or the birth of a child, but could also signify the beginning of an exciting new enterprise, career, or course of study. *When the Ace of Swords accompanies the Justice card, not only will your situation soon be clarified, there will be an absolute and finite outcome related to your discovery of the truth. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.* This is the card that appears when communication is in need of being clarified. That is a nice way of saying that when someone is giving you a snow job about anything, the Ace of Swords is with you to cut thru those words and find the clear meaning. (also reference keen.com) *Next to Justice, the card that best augments this card is Strength--the results of what the Ace of Swords reveals will make you a better, wiser person.*

5.) Strength: Linked to the sign of Leo. The lion is a sexual animal but his base instincts are checked by the cares of a maiden. Message: Use your head and not your heart. Exercise restraint; hold your power in reserve. Courage and fortitude will bring success. Can also signify healing qualities. *The strength card is one of the most sophisticated cards in the deck, representing a higher level of consciousness that takes responsibility in order to master yourself or your world. The infinity symbol floating above the head of the woman on the card is the symbol of possibilities and self-mastery. The card shows her calming a lion, which means that she has conquered more than just herself and exerts a control over aspects in the world around her. (keen.com)

6.) Six of Rods: Rods is the suit of action and energy. The rods are always depicted sprouting or flowering; they signify growth. Also called Wands, Rods are associated with the fire element and the fire signs of the Zodiac; Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The Six of Rods depicts a laurel-bedecked hero returning victorious. Your hard work has paid off, expect a bonus or reward. This is the card of reaping the reward and enjoying the fruits of victory. This card stands for triumph. (keen.com)

Thank you for this reading Gail.

I have an instant feeling for the health reading. Maybe it's to do with gardening but I enjoy reading about the old herbal remedies and what different plants could be used for. I'm sure modern medicine could learn a great deal from it. The others had less feeling of connection but I shall have a closer study over the weekend.

Thanx, Carol, glad you enjoyed it. I think the only one I could really relate to was the authority figures one, the others didn't seem to hit with me much, overall. Altho I do love the ocean, but doesn't everyone? :)

Thank you, Gail, for taking the time to do this reading. I can clearly relate to three of the five, and somewhat relate to the other two. They are good reminders to me to work at balancing potential karma in all my relationships.

Today's reading is from the Past Life Oracle card deck, and I drew 5 cards.

A brief description from the front of the deck book compliments of Doreen Virtue: "Altho your physical body is temporal, your soul is eternal. You were created eons ago, and you've had many experiences thru many lifetimes. We've found as people recall their previous lifetimes, they've simultaneously been able to heal negative patterns and health conditions that are rooted in the past. At a soul level you retain all the information, lessons, and memories that you've gathered. In many ways you grow stronger and wiser with each lifetime. You also tend to incarnate with the same individuals, both because you love them and also to heal misunderstandings. Oracle cards are an ancient divination system based upon magnetic resonance, which says that any question you have will magnetically attract the card that most accurately provides your answer. These cards us Pythagorean systems of numerology, which hold that every color, letter, and number vibrates in mathematically precise ways."

1.) Karmic relationship: This card indicates that one or more of the people in your current life are from previous lifetimes. You both ended your relationships with karmic imbalances. This means that one or both of you are most likely harboring old feelings that need to be healed and released. When this occurs, you will be set free from recurring destructive and toxic relationship patterns. In some cases this card will arise when there's a reunion with a beloved soul from a previous life. Perhaps you've finally reconnected with a new romantic partner from your past, or a new friendship is bringing you great joy. With healthy past life connections, you'll immediately feel a sense of comfort and familiarity. You received this card in answer to a question or concern that involves a karmic relationship. Fortunately, you can appeal to Heaven for help in releasing any old, stuck energies or emotions. You may also be guided to work with a specialist in past-life regression and relationship healing.

2.) Ships: Your prior lifetimes spent on ships bring this card to you today. As a former sailor, crew member, or ship passenger, you've had experiences at sea that have exerted an influence on the situation you're inquiring about. You probably already have a sense of the type of life you had aboard these ships. The question now becomes how your experiences have affected your present life. Negative reactions such as fears and phobias, or positive reactions such as longings to travel or a special affinity for the ocean, all may have arisen in prior lifetimes.

3.) Authority Figures: In your previous and current lifetimes, you followed rules that were set down by authority figures such as parents and teachers. You may have also encountered intimidating or even cruel authority figures in the past. Perhaps you found yourself in the presence of those who were power-hungry or abusive. These situations can lead you to fear authority figures and succumb to their will in the present. While it's normal to sometimes be intimidated by powerful individuals, fearing authority figures can lead to unhealthy passivity. For example, you may feel pressured to bow to another's rules without standing up for your rights. Or you may develop 'conflict phobias', in which you negate your own needs in order to avoid arguments and disharmony. In some cases, this can lead to a form of depression called 'learned helplessness' in which you don't even try to improve your life. To heal this situation, fill yourself with self-love and self-esteem, and see yourself as being whole and healed. Oftentimes, just remembering past life details will lead to clearing and healing.

4.) Health: Your relationship to health and healing is influenced by other lifetimes. You may be suffering from a physical problem that was inflicted upon you during your past life. Perhaps you incarnated so quickly that you didn't have time to deal with the underlying issues. Your physical health has caused you hardship, yet it has also taught you a deeper level of compassion than you could have learned in a healthy body. You've also developed healing skills that can benefit others; in fact, you may already know that you're a healer. This knowledge was acquired in previous lifetimes when you performed healings for others. Back then, your earthly needs were likely taken care of by your community, so you may struggle with the idea of charging money for healing work in this life. It's helpful to know that in this current Western society, everyone must charge for their work, including those who provide spiritually based services.

5.) Greco-Roman: This card indicates that you had a significant life in Greece or Rome that is influencing the situation you're inquiring about. You may have noticed that you're drawn to Greco-Roman architecture, culture, or spirituality. Perhaps you've even visited areas of the Mediterranean which felt strangely familiar. Often when we visit a place where we've lived in other lives, we experience a sense of deja vu. During your Greco-Roman lifetime you had experiences and relationships that formed the basis for your present-life situation. You've also carried the knowledge forward that you gained in that lifetime. Now that you're consciously aware of your connection to Greece or Rome, spend time researching associated ancient cultures and the spirituality associated with those places. Your research will trigger memories and insights, and you'll come to better understand yourself and your situation.

I used my pendulum to choose which deck (or as it turned out today, decks..) to use for a reading for the group, and chose the Archangel Power tarot deck, but also the Chakra Wisdom Oracle deck....so I chose 4 cards from each deck.

Just a quick recap re: the Chakra deck cards:

GREEN---signify love, brotherhood, harmony, balance, hope, growth, healing, peace, and prosperity.

The 4th chakra--the heart chakra--relates to matters of the heart. In manifesting, we are always blocked if your 'heart is not in it'. There is something very pivotal about every green card, as tho each one indicates a key moment of personal choice. They tell us about the 'heart of the matter'. In this chakra we decide whether we will proceed or whether things will get kicked back to our yellow chakra, where we need to spend time thinking without progressing our decisions. In essence you will see here whether your heart is truly invested in the actions you are willing to take. Every green card owns the distinction of revealing what happens when you do - or don't - follow your heart. The question these cards ask is, 'what does your heart tell you?'

BLUE---Signify communication, truth, loyalty, serenity, faith, spirituality, creativity, and expression.

The cards of the 5th chakra - the throat chakra - reveal at a core level matters of communication: this includes creative focus and your ability to be heard and understood. Being able to communicate the truth you feel in your heart will bring forward all the positive attributes of these cards. When you deny your heart's knowledge, challenges will present themselves. Here is where you will find a definition or personal leadership and redefine beliefs that no longer serve you. In essence this means that you will not get what you ask for, but you WILL get who you are, reflected back to you.

YELLOW---Signify creative, intellect, precise, cooperative, reasonable, innovation, originality, wisdom, instinct.

The yellow cards of the 3rd chakra - solar plexus chakra - reveal our planning processes. Do we have a logical or scattered approach? Because they represent thinking and problem solving, yellow cards reveal our ability to resolve issues. In essence, they show what's on our mind. In yellow, we turn on the lights and let the spirits know we are home. If we don't let them know where we are, they cannot bring us our desires. Ultimately, the 3rd chakra relates to our instinct and to how our life is directed by it. When we can see how our instinct guides our thoughts, we will understand why we do what we do. And when it relates to our emotions, instinct is frequently the first thing that gets shut down. Remember what I said? Look to the previous chakra (the 2nd chakra in this case) if you feel blocked. Every decision we have ever made is made in a flash; to move forward or to stop. There is a moment, a split second in which we decide. In this chakra you decide if you will allow magic into your life.
----------------------------------------

Green card: Trickery -- Notice here that there may be manipulation because of a fear of being rejected. There is no evil intent, only a deep desire to be loved. This card may also indicate that you should practice asking for your true heart's desire, rather than fearing someone else's resentment.

Inspiration: During trying times, things may be easier if you ask for help. Don't be disappointed if assistance does not come from the place you expect.

Personal Inquiry: Am I afraid to tell the truth? How does that fear make me manipulate others? What do I really need to say?

Key Ideas: Dance of scarcity; coveting possessions, vulnerable heart; self-honesty; accusing others; hidden motives.

Keywords: vision, honesty, greed.

Meditation: Who do you identify with, the trickster or the greedy dragon? When you close your eyes, which one comes forward? Whoever it is, ask him what he is afraid of. Listen, then ask the Great Spirits for guidance. Their guidance may come during your meditation or at a later time.
-------------------------------------
Blue Card: Vanity. 'I need more, better, bigger. Yes, that will make me okay.'

Inspiration: We all say we will stop when we have enough, but there's never enough. You may be looking outside yourself for validation.

Personal Inquiry: Am I feeling disconnected from any people in my life? Am I growing away from limiting relationships"

Key Ideas: Environmental tension; living in illusion; self-doubt; power to change; lesser companions; empty conversations.

Keywords: Faith, awareness, transformation.

Meditation: Visualize an Aqua light within you. Imagine people you love surrounding you. Feel the light building and spilling onto your loved ones. Send gratitude to those you love and those you have yet to meet. Bless them all. Notice the energy and any messages that you receive.
-------------------------------------

Blue card: Isolation: 'I've got all I could ever need right here."

Inspiration: Do not wait for the right time to live your life. You are on the verge of something big, but if you don't participate it could pass you by.

Personal Inquiry: Sapphire does not know the difference between isolation and solitude. Do you?

Key Ideas: Self-protection; making excuses; over-preparing; never feeling ready to take action.

Keywords: Celebration, experiences, play.

Meditation: Think of something that you have been putting off - a vacation, calling a friend, painting the house - Close your eyes and imagine yourself totally involved in the activity. Come back when you are ready. Now, taking action will be that much simpler.
----------------------------------------
---

Yellow card-Abundance: I only seek to give you what you ask for.

Inspiration: Think about your relationship with money. Are you the wise girl or the foolhardy man? Money is naturally attracted toward appreciation and gratitude.

Personal Inquiry: Be wary of using your financial situation as an excuse to avoid doing something. Are your thoughts and actions around money empowering or disempowering to you?

Key Ideas: Abundance thru gratitude; releasing regret; being good with money.

Keywords: Friendship, wisdom, windfall.

Mediation: Place some money before you. Pick it up. Have you thought about how many souls have touched it before it came to you? Feel its energy. The value we derive from money is the exchange of energy. Imagine this money transforming into your desire. Be aware of your improved relationship with money.
----------------------------------------
----------

# 17-The Star: Archangel Jophiel: Now is the time to have great faith and hope! This star shines in the heavens as inspiration and as an affirmative sign to you that your plans can be viewed with enthusiasm and confidence. If you've been experiencing challenges, you can rest assured that your difficulties will quickly fade into the past. This is the light at the end of the tunnel, and it's a star you can make a wish upon! The most important element for your success is believing in yourself. Archangel Jophiel can help you see how beautiful this moment in your life is. Feel inspired to make long-term plans and know that you'll be successful!

A dream come true...Renewed purpose...Following your intuition...Faith in yourself.

Archangel Jophiel's name means 'the beauty of God'. She excels at beautifying any situation or challenge that has arisen. You can also call upon Archangel Jophiel in times of joy and gratitude to help you anchor in your heart the positive energy of that moment.
---------------------------

***The suit of Michael: The spark of human intelligence has brought us many wondrous and amazing gifts. Our minds can also cause us to worry unnecessarily and fall into fear. The suit of Michael represents our ability to think our way clear of our challenges and to soar to new heights of brilliance. These cards signal issues regarding communication, speaking our truths, and freeing ourselves of our illusions of being trapped. Archangel Michael was chosen to represent this suit because of his role as a protector and guardian of all the world's people and as a champion of truth and justice.***

2 of Michael: It will all feel better if you make a choice! You're struggling with a decision, either overanalyzing the situation or hoping it will just go away. Your heart is in conflict with your mind, so you're avoiding making a choice. This can be exhausting and create unnecessary stress. Trust your ability to make a wise and intuitively sound decision. A solution is quite possible, but compromise will be necessary. Search for middle ground. Even a temporary fix will get things moving again. Add'l meanings could be: Not listening to your inner wisdom, spinning your wheels, or suppressing your emotions.

7 of Michael: There is a better course of action available to you! Ask yourself, 'what am I really trying to accomplish?' Think about whether working alone on this project is a good idea. Is your unique point of view providing creative solutions, or is it causing you to miss important details? Go over the details again. Your angels want you to be a success in this endeavor and are giving you a 'heads up' with this card. There is probably more going on here than meets the eye. Someone may have ulterior motives. Add'l meanings could be: The need for caution, running away, or poor timing.

***The previous three suits deal with aspects of our lives that are nonphysical such as our passions, emotions, and thoughts. The suit of Ariel represents the material world. These cards deal with the daily part of living, including physical health, pursuing education and careers, and the planet on which we reside. For this suit, we've chosen Ariel because of her magical powers of manifestation and her love of the world's animals and environment.***

Queen of Ariel: Nurture yourself and those you love. There is a need for quality time with the people you care about the most. Practical and wise advice should be freely offered or accepted. You may see the truth clearly when those around you don't. You excel at taking care of others, but don't forget to take care of yourself! You have the gift of being able to make anything more beautiful. This card may indicate a person who is giving and generous, someone who always knows the right thing to do and helps out happily. An admirer of luxurious items, who is mature, practical, warm, and kind. Add'l meanings may be: the balance between function and beauty, a big heart, or a talented gardener.

Sally, thank you for the reading. It doesn't seem to apply to anything going on in my life right now but I have printed it out and will keep it near by for reference if things change. You and I must be tracking telepathically - I have been thinking about a reading for awhile but just not had the time (and quiet space) to get around to it lately with my husband's medical appointments and surgery. I appreciate your making this effort and will let you know if anything pops up that applies.

As no-one has done a reading for a while I thought I would do one from my Angel Cards.

MERLINA: You have felt like you are chasing your tail, looking at this option, then that option. This indecisiveness is exhausting you. The reason why you're confused is that you do not have enough information to make an informed decision. Your choices appear too similar right now, but once you conduct additional research your decision will become clear.

First begin by asking god and the angels to enter your dreams and give you more information. Then ask your feelings to give you guidance. This means imagining what it would feel like to make this decision. Then imagine what it would feel like to make the other choice. Go deep within and notice how your body reacts as you try on the different options. If your gut or jaw tightens this is a sign that something isn't right. If your heart flutters with warmth this is a sign that you are on the right path. Before making your final decision seek the counsel of wise friends and teachers whose experience and intuition can guide you.

FIONA: I'm so happy that you asked for help from God and the angels. I am here to ask you to be open to our help. Sometimes I watch you struggle with situations that could easily be resolved if you would let me help you. I wait for any signal - a prayer or a thought of 'help!!' - so that I can become involved in the solution.

Now you have asked for my help and I am very glad to assist you, I only ask that you allow me to help you. Because you see, at other times, you have blocked me from doing so. You believed that you didn't 'deserve' my help or that making necessary life changes was too threatening. Remember that I am here to help you ease your mind. I need you to trust my guidance.

Notice the strong repetitious impressions that come to you through your thoughts, feelings and visions. they are real messages from God - through me, to you. We won't let you fail in any way. You are fully supported be Heaven as you follow your Divine guidance.

CHANTALL: You have been hungering for more romance and passion and your prayer is answered. I am a Romance Angel and i am here to help you. new love is on its way to you and you can open the door to this romance by opening your heart. The more that you welcome new love with open arms the more romance will come your way. this also means that you must express yourself romantically towards your partner. Be candid about your feelings and intentions. Be playful (like we angels are). Most of all be openly loving with your partner as a way of encouraging the flow of romance to you.

I will give you guidance along the way and it may involve actions that seem unrelated to romantic love. yet you will know it is me who encourages you to join a gym, enrol in an evening class or meet a new friend, for example. my trademark characteristic is that I create very strong feelings in your heart and then I surround it with warmth like I'm giving you a big hug. The more that you follow my guidance the faster the romance will be delivered to you.

I don't know if any of these cards will resonate with anyone popping in but it would help me, if they 'talk' to anyone reading them, to let me know.

I kinda had the same feeling about them, Sally. A couple of them 'kind of' struck a chord with things happening in my life, but overall, I can't say they were really relevant to what is in my current experience, either, but I'm glad that Carol liked them, too.

I've had a look at the cards now, thanks Gail. I've been hoping for their message to be mine but it seems to be more appropriate for Carol. I hope the messages are as good as they seemed to be Carol.

That's great, that it encouraged you, Carol! Thanx for that feedback, it's always nice to know when something is helpful or if it 'spoke' to someone, I really appreciate it. I am SO glad to hear about you and hubby, and that is awesome that the family member is going to help you with the ancestry stuff! It's gonna be a good year, isn't it? Wooooo hoooooo

Gail, this particular reading hit spot-on in several ways. It's really quite amazing. The various cards seem to fall into a couple of themes that totally appropriate for me.

For one thing, one of the two ladies we had lunch with yesterday is as totally immersed in genealogy as I am in astrology. She has offered to help me find more information regarding my family tree and relatives on Ancestry.com, which could also help lead to finding my father. This matches with the themes of the King of Fire, Eight of Fire, King of Air, the Ace of Fire, and the Magician all speak to consulting someone more knowledgeable for help and then moving forward enthusiastically in new directions.

The other theme focuses on healing an old hurt, forgiving others and myself, and moving forward in a new emotional direction. The Three of Air and the Moon in particular address these issues. My husband and I have had some long-standing issues that are suddenly becoming resolved.

The Eight of Earth points in the direction of new learning. My Oregon Astrological Association and the NORWAC conference in Seattle coming up in May both provide opportunities for new learning.

All the way through is a theme of now being the time to move forward in new directions. Thank you a ton!

Thank you for putting this up Gail. It looks really interesting. I had a quick glance at this in the morning but I haven't had time to read it all yet. I'll give you 'feedback' once I've had a proper read.

Here is a new reading for everyone, since we haven't done one in awhile....my pendulum led me to use the Angel Tarot cards for this particular reading. To begin, here is a brief explanation of the different suits:

A.) FIRE--The suit of fire represents our ideas and inspirations. It's where we feel passion, display amazing creativity, and set our dreams into motion. This element corresponds to our career, art, adventure, risk taking, and self-development. Fire can also represent any of our passions.

B.) WATER--The suit of water represents the depth of our emotions. It's where we fall in love, nurture our children, and open our hearts to deep feelings. The water cards represent love, romance, relationships, family, dreams, and desires. This suit also encompasses the depths of our intuitive and psychic gifts.

C.) AIR--The suit of air represents our intellect. It's where we make decisions, analyze situations, and give voice to our thoughts. Air is aligned with justice, truth, ideals, and the legal system, communication, and other intellectual areas. As fear and worry generally live in the mind, this suit can also denote struggles and concerns of our lives.

D.) EARTH--The suit of earth represents the material world, in which we deal with making a living, caring for our bodies, and looking after Mother Earth. Aspects of our lives represented by this suit include money, work, home, security, health, resources, education, society, and the environment.
----------------------------------------
------------------------

1.) King of Fire: This card urges us to focus, focus, focus. Communicate with vision, and leadership abilities. Devote your energy and time to the task at hand, inspire others with your enthusiasm. You may also receive advice from someone who excels at creative solutions. Can also indicate an entrepreneurial venture, the courage of one's convictions, and making a difference. A natural born leader with great charisma, charm, and flair. It also references speaking in front of a group, idealism, influence, creativity, ambition, and motivation.

2.) Eight of Earth: Your heart is in your work or studies. You've committed to learning about your career, vocation, or project. You're definitely on the right track. Your dedication, skill, and talents are appreciated and will soon be rewarded. Still, there's more to learn. Consider taking classes related to your interests or profession. A serious commitment to study or research is now called for, it may be time to go back to school. Additional meanings can also refer to craftsmanship, apprenticeship, diligence, and attention to detail.

3.) Three of Air: Something has occurred that makes you sad. This may be a current situation, or something from your past that has lingered and continues to distress you. Trust that the sadness will pass and you'll eventually see this situation's purpose in your life. Take time to heal. Release painful memories and move bravely forward. Forgiveness is a powerful healer. Don't hold on to the energy of past disappointments or conflict. Remember to forgive yourself for choices you might wish you'd made differently. You did the best you could at the time, and allow yourself to move on. This card can also reference misunderstandings, loneliness, relationship concerns, or painful revelations.

4.) Eight of Fire: Hold on tight, because things now move into high gear! Past delays are over, and your plans manifest with swiftness and energy. You may feel caught off guard as frenzied activities take over. It's exhilarating and a little overwhelming, but it feels good to see your dreams coming true. Suddenly, you have a lot of things going on. Too many balls in the air? Stay grounded. Your messages are received positively right now. Embrace the spotlight. This card may also indicate receiving needed information, inspiration, sudden travel, or an unexpected level of success.

5.) The Moon: Everyone experiences times in their lives when they're afraid or insecure. Sometimes these fears are based on external factors you can see, and sometimes worries stem from irrational or unreal concerns. In both cases it's important to go within and listen to your intuition as to what to do next. Ask your inner self about the source of your anxiety, and trust your guidance. The angels sent you this card because this is a time of powerful intuition and psychic ability. However, your greatest insights will be about yourself. Embrace this period of self-awareness to overcome past blocks that have held you back. Awaken to truths about yourself that you've kept hidden, and see your brilliant light. This card also tells you to pay attention to your dreams. Unseen events may be affecting you, or illusions.

6.) King of Air: You may receive valuable advice from an intelligent professional. It's important that your decisions be fair and equitable to all involved. Don't hesitate to consult a third party, if necessary, yet speak your mind with confidence. In reference to specific people, this card indicates a person who's at the top of his/her field, especially in an intellectual area such as law, science, or business. Someone who is an excellent speaker and is known for the ability to be objective and diplomatic. Brilliant, authoritative, impartial, professional, balanced, and motivational. Additional meanings can also reference justice, a mediator, forgetting to weigh the emotional aspects of a situation, or the government or military.

7.) Ace of Fire: An exciting new opportunity shows up in your life! Creative and inspiring career possibilities are coming into view. Now is the time to completely embrace new adventures that present themselves. Go for it! Innovative ideas should be enthusiastically pursued. This is as good a time as any to take risks in order to follow your dreams. If you want to change your life, do it now! This card could also indicate starting a new business, job offers or promotions, exciting new information, self-expression, or a fresh start.

8.) The Magician: This card signals that it's the right time to begin new projects! If you had any doubts about your ability to manifest your dreams, leave them behind. In fact, the more self-confidence you have, the more success you experience! Fortunately, angels can boost your inner strength if you'll call upon them for help. Altho you may not feel ready to move forward upon your path, you're actually more prepared than you realize. Your life experiences have trained you for this moment, and the opportunities available to you at this time are magical. It's not necessary to take any more classes or read any more books, which would only delay you from walking thru the door that's presently open for you. Take focused action with respect to any plans you may have been preparing for. Additional meanings can indicate procrastination, magical occurrences, concentrated efforts, and unexpected resources. (Archangel Raziel is the wizard-like angel of spiritual secrets and mysteries who will open doors of opportunity for you. He'll also speed you along the pathway of manifestation so you'll enjoy success much more quickly than seems logically possible.)

Awesome, glad it spoke to you both! It actually spoke to me, also, in a lot of ways, especially the looking inside part to examine my own 'stuff'. This was a pretty uplifting reading, overall...

I've copied the reading to my docs so I'll have a better look later. On a quick perusal some cards seem very relevant. I'll come back to you. Thank you for doing the reading though.

Here is a reading for the team. I was led to use the Archangel Power Card deck by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine:

1.) Five of Gabriel: This is a challenge you can resolve. Withdraw from the drama of others and have patience with yourself and those around you. You have what it takes to solve this puzzle! You may not have all the pieces just yet, but working with others and finding compromise is the way to come to a peaceful resolution. Some of the interpersonal conflicts and challenges that you're experiencing may very well be reflections of struggles you're having within yourself. Stand back and take a look at the big picture. Listen carefully to other peoples' viewpoints. When you draw this card, it's a recommendation to withdraw from the drama of others if you can do so gracefully. Healthy competition can make you stronger and be very fulfilling. Keep your intentions positive and your ethics of the highest caliber. ( Add'l meanings may be in reference to multiple situations vying for your attention, dramatic people, petty quarrels or sporting events.)

2.) Seven of Gabriel: You must stand up for what you believe in! It's important to confidently defend your actions. Even if you're in the minority, your beliefs are right, and you must stand your ground! (Add'l meanings can reference claiming your personal power, determination, or being an advocate.)

3.) King of Raphael: Yes, it is safe to trust! You have the ability to accomplish many things at once. Follow your creative passions. A) Situations: Yes, it is safe to trust! You have the ability to accomplish great things at this time. Indulge any longing you may have to create art or music. Lend a hand to those around you who need assistance. Expect to meet someone you can really trust who is driven by the heart. Wise and heartfelt advice really makes a difference. B) People: A warm and generous person who understands human nature. Someone who takes romantic relationships and close friendships very seriously. A humanitarian. Honorable. Refined. Chivalrous. Highly regarded. (Add'l meanings=a patron of the arts...a peacemaker...a father or father figure...an interest in the healing arts.)

4.) Ten of Michael: A situation has ended, and you are finally free. New opportunities for happiness will now follow. Put the past behind you. You probably saw this time coming and have been welcoming it. It's possible that you'll have a sense of sadness, but this card more often brings with it a great sense of relief! If you've been struggling, the worst is over now. Let go of what you've been holding on to. Have faith that your angels will walk with you into the beauty of a brand new dawn. (Add'l meanings can be pushing too hard, putting the past behind you and freeing yourself of a dependency)

5.) Knight of Michael: Choose logic over emotion. It is time for swift action and it is necessary to move with great decisiveness and confidence. Develop a plan and know exactly how to carry it forward. There is a great deal of activity. This card encourages you to follow your mind over your heart for the results you desire. While you're urged to act quickly, you mustn't act impulsively. You have the ability to accomplish many things at once. There is a brilliant mind and the capacity to solve any intellectual problem. May also mean strong, committed, focused, and educated.

6.) The Magician: You have the magical touch of angels on your side! New projects that you start will be very successful. You have all the resources you need, even if you can't see them at this time. You may be underestimating the skill and knowledge that you've accumulated. You're prepared for this moment in your life, and the road ahead is safe and sure. With Archangel Raziel beside you, additional assistance in the form of guidance, supportive people, or a windfall of abundance will seem magically to appear. Anything is possible! However, to receive this help, you have to confidently take action. You must move forward with your plans in a way that displays to others (and to yourself) that you have no doubt as to your coming success!

You're welcome, everyone, I'm glad you got something from it. I felt really 'neutral' toward this reading, for some reason. Nothing really popped out at me in any way, in relation to my own life, overall, but I liked the cards themselves.

We all seem to be on the 'witchy' wave length but I think it also goes along with the healers. The health reading rang true for me as although I had cancer I often felt it was like a lesson to let me help other sufferers. I like to think I've given support to a number of sufferers now. A listening ear is often all that is required. I really didn't get any vibes from either the farm or Asia but maybe I need to think about them a bit more. All together a very thought provoking reading. Thank you for taking the time to do this Gail.

Gail, thank you for the reading. I actually missed seeing it when you first posted it - just too much of a hurry. Mea culpa!

That first card of Health is spot on, of course, with my recent adventures with the medical community.

The second card of Persecution and Inquisition really strikes home as I recently learned of a past life in Egypt when I was hanged for my knowledge. I am now blessed with a husband who was also a husband in Spain when I was a Healer; only only Healers persecuted by the Inquisition were single women, and this man married me to protect me. He is still very supportive.

The card on Communal Living evokes knowledge of a lifetime in a convent in the early days of American expansion; I still struggle to fit into groups; it's an ongoing lesson.

The card on Karmic Relationship is apt as it reminds me that all 3 of my husbands in this lifetime are from past lives, some happier than others!

The card on Lessons and Blessings is self-explanatory. I apply the "make it positive" lesson everywhere.

The card on the Farm, now that one is a puzzlement.

The card on Leaving Or Travel is a reminder that in past lives I ran away from bad situations; now I must learn to leave only after a lesson is completed. In fact, the Universe will not let me leave too early. That's still a lesson in process!

The card on Asia - apparently that is also a lesson in process.

So thanks, Gail, you've given me reminders of things I should be paying attention to.

Carol

You noticed that! LMAO Perhaps more of us were *witches* than we know? HAHAHAHAHAHA I wasn't real impressed with this reading...it didn't 'speak' to me in any way, really, but figured I'd post it anyway in case someone else might get something from it. LOL
