Let me tell ya---I'm NOT trying to downplay your pain or make light of it. I have a high tolerance for pain and have recently had a knee replacement with some pretty bad complications. I've been working too hard, on my leg too much, and it all caved in this morning. Between the pain meds and the pain itself, I couldn't do ANYTHING. I laid around all day except for some cleaning and a trip to the grocery store for my bakery ingredients for another difficult week.
Reading your post has given me new hope. I'm not the only one having the problem, and it sounds like its gotten better--so thank you!!!

One step at a time. Walking is always good. And you are gonna have to drag yourself to the grocery store if you want to have some good food choices. emoticon Little steps in the right direction!!!

Thanks for the encouraging words, friends. I've accepted that this journey can be taken by me and me alone but the feedback and networking I find here is so helpful. I appreciate your support.

I felt like you a week ago as I returned from a few days at the beach. I immediately went back to protein for breakfast, eggs and a few veges or chicken, I kept up my water during my time at the beach, but don't think I got 8-10, so more water.

I felt sluggish, so got rid of the white foods, berries are in season and are cheaper now. So I ate fish, chicken, turkey, pork, and beef and berries with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, spinach, celery, and nuts.

I was lazy sometimes, and didn't want to cook, but my carry out food was good too. I ordered naked wings(no breading) steamed veges. Sunday I had broiled fish, baked potato, veges, and water with lemon at a restaurant. The baked potato was a splurge after feeling more in control. So, just go back to what you were doing before one meal at a time. You can look up most restaurant menus and nutrition on line before you go.

I invited my neighbor to workout with me, and it helped us both get back on track. I hope some of this helps. emoticon

Allow light into your heart and home everyday.

Maybe get back into things nice and slow?? Slow, short walk or better yet a swim?? Get the body moving without it hurting??!!! I do find if I take too many days off it is a bit harder to get my mo-jo back~
Sounds like a great vacation though if it left you sore!!!! :)
I take everything in small steps-eat a good breakfast, drink your lots of water, move a little and POOF soon you are right back on the success track!!!

I could really use any type of encouragement on this speed bump. Struggling to get back to pre vacation eating and exercise habits I had begun to form. Not much produce or other healthy groceries in the house since our return. MUST make a trip to the grocery store tomorrow. While body parts were sore from much pre-trip cleaning and walking and dancing during the trip, I've come back to 2 rest days in a row. I really feel like I needed them but now I'm starting to feel the other not so good pains I had begun to conquer. I am a real weenie for pain and I'm being a big baby about it today. It hurts if I don't move and it hurts if I do. GRRRR. :( Feel free to ignore the self pitying team member hunkered down in the corner if she is being too negative for your needs. Working on regaining the positive attitude too. I am grateful for ibuprofen but right now, but I really would love the not needing it instead.
