I'm sorry that I'm not much help with food. I'm not sure what a non-, repeat, non-vegetarian means. I hope that you get some help with that. Your water sounds good. I believe it was here that I read to drink 64 oz a day as your base then more if you're thirsty.

As far as exercise goes listen to your body and your doctors. I'm grounded from any arm exercises and until last week I couldn't exercise on my feet either. If your doctor, says it's okay (and you have access to a pool) you could swim which is a great, low impact exercise. I'm allowed to bike ride now so I'm using an exercise bike since I don't have access to a pool right now. Chair exercises are another good exercise that someone already mentioned. Strength training might work as well. You can keep the weights really low. At 5'1" and 300 lbs I never thought strength training was something I should do, but I'm glad I did. Now that I'm losing I can see little muscles developing. Plus muscle burns more calories than fat.

Can you lose weight without exercising? Absolutely! However exercise has so many other benefits that it's worthwhile to do if you can. Maybe that means losing some first before you can begin exercising. However exercise not only gives energy and helps your heart, it reshapes your body.

I'm sorry it took a day to get an answer. We are a moderately active crew. I work full time, go to school full time and take care of my husband who is ill. I don't get on here nearly as much as I'd like, but we are a supportive bunch and we will get back with you.

Good luck!
Carla

I bought a veggie powder (Green Superfood from Amazing Grasses). You can add it to water or milk. I am a bad veggie eater and I know some people who have used it. Even used it with children to sneak in extra veggies.

Hey Patrick,
There is a Sparkmember that I want to hook you up with to discuss food. His name is Russell and he's over on the community message boards alot, but of course i couldn't find him when I needed to.

I'm late for work now, so I'll get back to it tomorrow.

Anyway, he doesn't eat veggies either and he's lost a lot of weight.

Hang in there, Linda

People do try and reply but 15 minutes doesn't give us much time especially with a challenging question. It sounds like you like proteins but not vegetables. There are carb options that are good for you that may help. Grains can be good and eating fruits is a great way to get your sweets in a healthy way.

Hi Patrick my apologies for not responding sooner!! YES you can do it! Do a search on chair exercising. But do check with your doc to make sure it's allowed!! I have a bad knee and days I just can't walk I do the chair workouts!
I am here I will help you all I can!

Okay, being 415lbs or so , no excersise I am told, bit with a medical conditon preventing me, or so the majority of people suggest I do not , and I find it tough to not workout, but this time will listen to the majority and maybe walk, rake leaves, weed eat a few (3-5) hours a day, and try to drink at least 100oz's of water a day, those are the basic's.

I am lucky to drink 3-4 20oz bottle's a day thou

Walking has recently caused a major Chaffing issues, so this has been limited, but not stopped, as walk I must !!

I dropped weight, yes, but been stuck for 6 weeks now and just about to quit, look at my journal entries rto see how bad my eating has getten lately.

I AM A NON-, REPEAT, NON-VEGETARIAN, peas , carrots, corn, lima beans, , all kinds of beans, black eye peas, split pea, lentil, red/kidney/navy etc...except green beans

No lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles., cucumbers, spinach, broccoli or any other good stuff

THIS LEAVES ME VERY LITTLE TO MAKE A DAILY MENU WITH, CAN Y'ALL HELP ME DO THIS AND DO IT SUCH A WAY THAT I LOSE WEIGHT AND GET OFF THIS PLATUE I BEEN STUCK ON FOR 6 WKS, PLEASE.

I really could use the help of the experts who say I can lose weight, without excersise and still be able to not starve, or go hungry, is this still possible, hope so????

Salmon, chicken, pork chops, samll portion's all 3-6oz's, then I need help...
