I study after 9pm and DVR my shows. My girls are asleep by then and I rarely study before 9 so that I can focus on everything else. My girls sometimes pretend to do school work with me if I have alot. I have slacked on school lately soooo...now I gotta get my whole life back on track lol

So 5 weeks until I take my irst Hesi exam. I am stressing about that a little but I'm excited that I got a work out buddy. She is my babysitter so I can't skip out on exercising because I have to pick my kid up at her house. That helps me stay motivated though because she is awesome and we will push each other to keep to our exercise plan. I'm almost done with 2nd semester clinicals and I can't wait until summer is here. My kids are getting tired of mommy not being in the best of moods lately and I don't blame them. I am exhausted and just plain worn out from them getting sick and having to do everything. Sorry just needed to vent a little. Good luck everyone on your journey's.

Just to vent...these snow days are slowly killing my inertia! My final for my winter class is supposed to be today...and due to the snow days this week, we get to begin a new class, a full day of skills lab...BEFORE we finish this class, and do a skills eval. And these kids...need to get out of the house! They are driving me nuts!

I am also married with three children, ages 11, 13, and 17. I work full time as an LPN in a special care nursery, and I'm in a full time RN program. It really is hard right now, but it will be well worth it in the end.

I have 4 children, and I'm a senior nursing student starting on the 21st. I just found out to my shock that I am pregnant and expecting my baby 3 weeks before I graduate. Up to this point it has been challenging but workable to be in nursing school with a family. Now I'm not sure if I'll be able to graduate with my class :( But I am not giving up without a fight! One way or another I will finish. (Jill if you read this please keep it hush hush until I tell the faculty)

What an awesome trick about the markers! I'm doing AP now.

I'm Jennifer, married to Adam, and mom to AJ-7, Evan-5, Ilana-3, and Olivia-16 mos. I'm in my 1st semester of school and graduate in May w/ my LPN. I'm planning on getting a job in a Dr's office as I continue w/ my extra classes needed for my BSN. When I go back for it, I want to only have to work on nursing classes then. I was to go into L&D so I have to have my BSN done. I was thinking about getting my MSN and becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife.

My house is a mess, but my kids are clean and fed and right now I have a 4.0 so all is well, lol.

I am also married but only have one child, 4yr girl. I don't work but my husband is often sent away to different schools for the Army/ National Guard. Last semester he left right after my first clinical and came back right before my last one. I'm lucky that my school has both a traditional and online nursing program. I'm in the online program and it works great for me, I only go to the nursing campus for tests, lab, and to local healthcare agencies for clinicals. The lecture part of the class is completely online.

Hello I am new to this team and hoping to find support here. I too am a wife and mother of three. I have an 8 yr old, 5 yr old and 3 yr old. On top of my family life I work full time running a daycare from home with a total of eight children and I am in school full time. I am finding it extremely hard to balance everything. I am so overwhelmed!

I am a mom of a 4yr old and currently reaching the end of block 2 of nursing. I don't work outside the house right now, but my husband is self employed and travels with work.

I already have all the pre and corequisites done (thank god!). Here is a trick I learned in A&P. I would USE my son to help me study. I bought markers that were washable and would draw and label the bones, muscles, nerves etc on his little body. He called it our "college tickle game". He would do this 3-4 times a day and then while he was taking a bath to wash it all off - I got to review my flash cards or get some reading / outlining done.

Mom's always find a way...

I hope this helps.

I work nights, so I am able to study at work most of the time. Maybe you could get in some book time while your boys are in school during the day? Otherwise you might be able to do some studying while they do their homework (if they don't require too much assistance)- like a family activity, show them learning is a part of life, maybe take some of the fussing out of homework time? Also after they go to bed if you aren't too tired. Good luck!

I am a mom of 2 boys, a 11 year old and an 8 year old with autism (not severe). I don't work and my husband is military. I am starting back to school doing my prerequisite. part time this fall. I am taking Anthropology, Philosophy, and Human Development. I am mainly nervous about the Anth. & Phil. Should I be??? Anyways for those of you who have been going to school for awhile, how do you study and still be there for the kids?? When do you study?

Quite a few of us are married, have children, take care of our parents, or have other family responsibilities to juggle with our studies. Lay your problems down here and together we can break them down into manageable pieces.
