We're in record low temperatures! In the 40's! I'm thankful for my masseuse! We did abdominal muscles for the first time ever! He thinks it will help with the psoas muscle and back problem! Came home & slept all afternoon.

My little pick-up! Got in the gramma car to get in some walking out at Wal-Mart tonight! Felt weird when I backed out into the alley? Fortunately I got out & looked & the back tire on the passenger side was pancake flat!!

Good grief! What if that had been last night on my way to the ER? I'm still much too crippled up to change a tire! Need to buy a new tire for the pick-up. The spare is on it & the regular tire flat in the back. So now I'll have to go tire shopping tomorrow!

Feeling frustrated about being out of commission with this back problem and so much to do. Hopefully only 3 or 4 more days to harvest the spring wheat.

Today I'm grateful for: Being able to laugh at myself. Still feeling quite scattered and disorganized. Was up most of the night with my little beloved female bichon. Something just not right. So I had to take her up and just drop her off at the vet - which I hate doing. And didn't know for sure if the couple from New Zealand was going to join the harvest crew tonight for dinner. Didn't feel like making cherry pie for Nick. So decided on steak kabobs on the little portable BBQ and sauteed mushrooms because they love mushrooms. Plus the pickled beets, deviled eggs, cukes and onions in vinegar, 5 bean salad, black olives, sliced tomatoes w/fresh basil and garlic & rolls and butter. So I picked up BabyLove and they said she had a serious sinus infection. Loaded the back of the new pick-up with the stuff. I'm still not sure how it all fits in and after all the years of using the "Gramma Car" it just takes me awhile to figure it out.

Get there and set up the table and the BBQ and get it lit and heating up and start taking the stuff out of the coolers. I look at the crock pot of mushrooms...and it's empty. I brought the wrong crock pot.

Luckily, there was plenty of other stuff and the tenderloin chunks are so delish that no one really missed it.

Finally finding the motivation to install my new window a/c! Have had it for a week but just knew it was going to be very physically demanding! Too hot a couple of days & too tired a couple other days! Now it's done so will be much more pleasant to work in here!

I bought a little pick-up truck! Had given up looking while my mom was telling me She was moving! Worried about spending the money in case I ended up having to keep up the whole duplex!

So one pops up in my marketplace feed! Being sold by the woman who sold me the "gramma car" in 2005 (my little 1995 Olds Cutlass that I drive most of the time)! I replied, "would you trade me straight across for the gramma car" and stopped by her house about 20minutes later! Just what I was looking for except it's red! We made the deal! I went to the bank on Monday and got the cash & after work we went to her bank to get the title notarized & up to my insurance agent to add it to my policy! Got the plates today!

Will love hauling all kinds of stuff to the Senior Citizens Center for their rummage sale this weekend! Getting use to a hard clutch and really excited! Amazing how it worked out! Now I have to sell a car!

Hollyhocks! See them all over town! I have tried transplanting them for years and never had much luck. Now I have a whole area full of "volunteers" that are just going great guns. They are not in a spot I would have put them but I'm just letting them grow. I also have a true red volunteer that is all alone and over 7 feet tall near my bird bath. I'm hoping it last long enough to enter it in the Hill Co. Fair next Wednesday!

Today I'm grateful for a nice breeze to clean the air, the fact that I got almost all of my bedding plants planted on Saturday and can finish up the rest today, that I am motivated to get my kitchen cleaned and have been chipping away at it and feeling great about it.

Decided to bring this thread back up! Life is just better when we count our blessings! I'm thankful for air conditioning! Hit 94 here today. I'm grateful for the rain to water the lawn & containers. I'm grateful it didn't hail when the temperature dropped. I'm grateful for my local library so I don't buy books!

Had to meet a friend for an early breakfast as she is on her way to her son's house for their Christmas celebration on Saturday and wanted to take my Red Skelton Christmas videos to share with her family...Freddy the Freeloader has been my Christmas dinner companion for as long as I can remember!! It was a balmy -10 on my thermometer!!

I can't tell you how good it felt to have that snow all nicely shoveled out of the way and not by me!! Santa did a lot of good things for me this year!

Have to go to "work" at my volunteer job at the senior center front desk so need to get dressed and grab some cards to finish up. I've lost my address book. I'm sure it's hiding in a stack of books somewhere in the living room but will do the best I can with the internet and phone book. Hope you are all heading in to the Christmas weekend with a happy heart!

Seven Healthy Thanksgiving Tips
1. Eat real, whole, natural food
2. Eat slowly, breathe deeply between bits and stop when full
3. Don't feel pressured into eating anything you don't want (food
DOES NOT equal love no matter what the cook says)
4. Take a walk in nature as part of the festivities
5. Share, or at least focus on, what you appreciate about your life
6. Accept everything as it is rather than wishing it were different
7. Don't engage in any drama going on around you. Just send quiet
love to all, including yourself.

I'm grateful for my dogs who are always so happy just to be with me, no matter how messy it is. I'm grateful that my old car gets me where I want to go at speeds it shouldn't go. I'm grateful for my mean physical therapist who really is helping, even though it hurts so much.

I am thankful that my yard sale is over and was successful at letting me let go of at least 365 things in one day. I still have much more but it is a step in the right direction. (My niece said that she hoped it cleaned out my basement. It made a nice dent but there is still plenty there. I plan for it to be cleaned out in my niece's lifetime so she can see it. - Luckily she is not even 25 yet!!!! :-)
