Day 1, 100 DWL
"I used to be that way..."

I used to be a quitter. I'd give up. Get so far and then stop.

BECAUSE I'M NOW DIFFERENT, I CAN DO ANYTHING.

I will not stay stuck in one place on the scale. Small changes can AND WILL propel me forward. I will not let small things like weather, or feelings dictate my overall goal. I matter. I put myself first and sacrifice my wants in order to be a healthy role model for my family. They matter that much to me. I am putting myself FIRST.

Excellent. My 'junk food day' is 16th Feb! I decided to make it once a fortnight.

Day 6, Protect Your Program

Don't put yourself in situations where your willpower will be tempted. Try using the "not just yet" line to help yourself get out of difficult situations.

Three high risk time:
Sunday at mom's... pizza and brownies... program protected by limiting calories prior to going, since I've previously decided I will eat some
Maddie's birthday: I will only have a slice of cake.
Valentines: Requesting no candy

Day 4, Boundaries, Not Diets

Oh my, this couldn't have come at a better time for me. My husband bought Hershey Kisses, and I just ate the whole bag. I am so upset by it. Boundaries MUST be set. Diets, all-or-nothings do NOT work.

Boundaries allow for common sense and good judgement. I was clearly lacking in common sense and good judgement tonight. Just when I thought I'd gotten "back on track".

I know you also have to know your trigger foods, and candy is definitely a trigger food for me. Especially small pieces of chocolate. Last week it was a bag of chocolate chips. The week before, another. This week, Hershey Kisses. Trigger foods simply cannot be in my house. This must be a strict boundary that I follow, as I know myself when it comes to this.

Depending on your needs, you simply adjust your boundaries! I love this!!! emoticon

Narrow plan:
Junk food only on special occasions
Two hours of exercise a day
1200-1500 calories daily

Wider plan:
Junk food once every two weeks
One hour of exercise a day
1500-1700 calories daily

I'm ready to get on that narrow path!!!!

Day 3, Do it Anyway

Do it anyway is the difference between being interested and being committed. Focus on your actions, not your feelings. Being healthy should be just as important as other things you must do anyway.

People who are committed to losing weight:
1. Stick with their plans no matter what
2. Take action whether they feel like it or not.
3. Assume that if they stay motivated, results will follow.
4. Take responsibility for their own actions.
5. Keep going in spite of challenges and setbacks.

My list of actions I plan to stick to, no matter what:
1. Food prep weekly to plan out meals and calories
2. Get my exercise minutes in daily
3. Say no to junk food unless planned, and when planned only eat one portion

Day 2, Interested or Committed?

The "nagging thoughts" of FUN... oh my... culprit number two on my weight loss journey for sure. I cannot count the number of times I would "put off" dieting until after a holiday, a party, etc. Giving myself permission to eat whatever I wanted in the mean time.

Interest slips away. Yes, so true. If you are only "interested" in being healthy, slipping up is easy peasy.

Committed means stick to it no matter what. Work on keeping your motivation strong, knowing results will follow. You don't blame circumstances for your situation. You stay on your diet NO MATTER WHAT!

I will always be committed to my weight loss plan, not just interested.

I will stick with my program no matter what.

Today, I moved until I got my 120 active minutes, no matter what. Do it.

Day 1, I used to be that way...

Ah, the "already blown it" syndrome. Yes, I know this one well. You know, the one where you grab a bag of M&Ms at the check out, eat them in your car before dinner, and then after eating dinner, you then start getting into all your husband's snacks... brownie bites, oreos, etc. By the end of the night you find yourself scrounging for anything you can find... outdated Doritos, chocolate chips left over from Christmas baking... yup... this is my non-dieting life mantra. "You already blew it, so who cares."

STOP!
Your past does NOT determine your future. In fact, your previous failures have absolutely no effect on your ability to succeed now. Starting today, eliminate your belief that things ALWAYS go a certain way or that you NEVER stay with your goals. When those doubts creep back in, immediately give yourself this new message:
"I used to be that way but now I'm different." (pg. 2)

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR OUTCOME ENTIRELY!!!!

My list of fears...
I will not lose weight
I will let my life's stressors derail my efforts
I give in to the junk food monster

I used to think I could not lose weight but now I know I can because it's all about changing your inner self.

I used to think I would let life's stress derail my efforts, but now I will use journaling as way to deal with stress instead of eating.

I used to give into the junk food monster, but now I will drink water and tea first before deciding if I need a snack.
