Day 19 - " Eat reasonable amounts"

There is no way that I can stop measuring my food. I tried to guess how many carrots I put in my lunch bag, I thought it was 100 grams. Nope, it was 125 grams. That's why if I'm on the diet or Sparking I am totally weighing and measuring my food, well most of my food. There are some things, like if you're at restaurant you do have to guess. Or like last night when my husband made sandwiches and I think I guessed low on how much meat he put on them.

Anyway, I measure and weigh as much as possible, when I don't, I gain weight.

Another lesson that I am skipping since I quit the clean plate habit (I used to eat those bites from the kids plates instead of throwing away or saving for tomorrow's lunch) learned that trick a long time ago but it is a good reminder

Day 11 Two purposes of food
(not finished with assignment)

Today
• Each time you eat something, write down the time that you ate it. Include all of
your meals as well as snacks and nibbles. At the end of the day, count the
number of times you took in fuel. Include the total below.

5 fuel and but then I ate 2 truffles that my son and DIL sent us in Easter Basket.

• Plan ways to space your fuel stops between three to four hours apart. Record
your ideas here.

I use the SparkPeople diabetic nutrition tracker because it separates the day into 3 meals and two snacks.

Hubby, "you're doing great, spring is just around the corner and you will be able to do more outside, hang in there"

Son, just went over my nutrition chart, said I am doing great! He said he will help me more on the weekend and we will do yoga together. I gave him a big hug!

2. Come up with a response that affirms the person who gave you the compliment. Write down what you said to them.

In the space below, write a list of things that people are always welcome to say
or do in regard to your weight-loss efforts. Examples might include offer you
compliments, protect you from dessert, or clear the table after meals.
• I like when we talk about and compare our fitbit numbers.
• I like it when they nudge me to get up and move
• I like it when they remind me of "portion watch" that's what we call dieting in our house LOL

Create another list of things you don’t ever want people to do such as snatch
your plate away, give you lectures, or admonish, “You’re not supposed to be
eating that.”
• I don't want anyone to ask "Do you want more?" "Do you want dessert?"
• I don't want anyone when we are at the restaurant say "get the fried chicken" when I have made up my mind that I am getting the roasted chicken before I left the house.
• I don't want anyone to say, "don't you have enough steps today?"

Read both lists to your support people including your spouse, your children,
and your best friend.

I just realized that I have been "doing it anyway" for a long time, but i bet I can do just a bit more on my exercise routine and being more honest on my calorie count so I stay in range, not just guessing what I ate.

I used to eat big dinners and stuff myself but now I eat the right amount my watching my portion sizes.

I used to eat chips, cookies or sweets to calm myself when my tummy hurts but now I drink water and walk for a few minutes

I used to eat every time I went near the kitchen, but now I eat on a schedule by planning meals and snacks.

I used to eat fast, but now I eat slow and enjoy my food

I used to eat portions that were too big, now I measure and eat the right serving size so my calorie count is accurate.

I used to sit next to my ill husband and use his illness as an excuse for me not being active but now I keep busy, cleaning and exercising using an intercom when he needs me.

I used to not exercise when I am in pain, but now I do light activities or yoga to help the pain.

Practice saying the words “I can do it!” over and over. Write them on sticky notes, and
then post them on your mirror, your computer screen, and your car dash.

Read them many times a day, maybe even 100 times. Push them deep into your mind
and use them as a powerful affirmation that you will succeed with your plan.

Day 3,

Today was a sad day at work, a co-workers daughter died suddenly, none of us knew the details. I was so sad, she was only 31. emoticon I did not run to the vending machine to calm myself. I said, no matter what, you have to eat your planned meals. No matter what, you are going on that walk at lunchtime. So that's what I did.

I got home and portioned my dinner, ate slow, no matter what, I did stick to my plan. A green dot day emoticon

It's only one day, but it proves that emoticon

No matter what . . . I did it anyway!

Day 1

170.6 emoticon

I used to eat big dinners, but now I eat the right amount

I used to eat cookies or sweets to calm myself when my tummy hurts but now I drink water and walk for a few minutes

I used to eat every time I went near the kitchen, but now I eat on a schedule by planning meals and snacks

I used to eat fast, but now I eat slow and enjoy my food

I used to eat portions that were too big, now I measure and eat the right serving size so my calorie count is accurate.

I used to sit next to my ill husband and use his illness as an excuse for me not being active but now I keep busy, cleaning and exercising using an intercom when he needs me.
