The Eating Pause

Now that this is brought to my attention.... I actually can remember times I have done the eating pause during eating out at restaurants... Only to keep eating- and even performing this eating pause up to 3 other times.... ((hopefully not more)).... It's just difficult because the foods taste SO good- and there are times I do not WANT to waste.... This is an AWESOME technique to try and get acclimated to throughout the rest of my life.... I never knew about this!!!! WOW!!! Thank you Linda!

Listen Accurately

I have been practicing listen to when my body is just satisfied at each meal and snack. This is difficult to do... At night for the evening meal- I like to eat till I'm stuffed them go upstairs and relax in bed watching television and resting... NOT GOOD_-----___ But this is my release.. I Love to do this! SO I am working diligently at this.... I am also drinking a glass of lowfat milk with my meals- so this is keeping me more satisfied for a longer amount of time...

Fullness Scale

3 point fullness scale

0=Neutral
+1= Satisfied
+2=Too Full
+3=Stuffed


At dinner I am usually a +3 then I go to bed... I find enjoyment and I like that feeling... Which is horrible... I should move around a bit and work off dinner... SOMETHING I have to think about.

Practice feeling at the +1 level- just satisfied. Keep at it and practice till you can master this feeling when you are eating meals...

5 Hour Rule


Always eat within 3-5 hour....

Assignments is along with recording what you eat- record what times you eat...

Notice any patterns for example::: if you overeat when you go too long in between meals...

As I am picking up where I left off... I had given up earlier... BUT have come to realize... That's NOT me.... I am going to keep on keeping on....

Hunger Scale

0=Neutral
-1= little hungry
-2=Very hungry
-3= Starved

I usually eat by the Clock.. right now I was kind of waiting till 12pm to start my "LUNCH" I have been waiting patiently since around 11am... I am going to start responding to eating by my reactions to being hungry or not hungry now... As right now I'm at a 2 or so....out of a 3... So I am going to go and make myself My Lunch of Tomato Soup- and Grilled Cheese.....

Postpone Eating

I do this with snack foods I buy that are out of the ordinary... And I STILL end up eating the whole bunch... This is usually done when my daughter isn't home (because I'd be so embarrassed and ashamed of myself) but it does happen... I can ward off eating for a few hours but then I'm like in a eating frenzy all over again!

Handheld Foods

Today I had the intention....I HAD THE INTENTION..

On Easter Sunday- My daughter requested that I purchase her some Smartfood (white cheddar flavored popcorn) I didn't have a problem with that- not one bit. But for whatever reason- I didn't/ Now Yesterday- I purchased her the popcorn. Yep I did! And I could have kicked myself in the butt because I ate just about the whole darn bag before she got home- and left just crumbs..... I AM ASHAMED! But I just couldn't stop! It had been so long since I ate any type of honest to goodness "bagged" junk.

I wish I could have said I had taken the time to measure out the portion for myself... Seeing since it WAS 180 calories per serving. But I didn't/ Maybe next time I will have the will power?

I just think RIGHT NOW--- I currently do not have much CONTROL. I ALWAYS overeat if it is in the house- and if it IS an option for me.... I just have to accept that and keep it out!

Do NOT eat just because it's there

I DO NOT EAT JUST BECAUSE IT'S THERE!!!!

My Goodness! I didn't realize this was an actual problem... AND THIS IS Probably one of my MOST DISTRESSING ONES!! I find myself just about eating anything I have just laying around on the counter- on the table where ever it may be....! Even out grocery shopping... I tend to want to buy things just because they would taste good or because they are available... NOT GOOD!!! Starting today I am going to just WALK AWAY! I have done this before- but I didn't realize it's a problem- until I really honestly gave it some honest time-----

Do I have to eat dessert? Not at every special occasion it's offered...but I will today for Easter.

We are having Lunch with strawberries and sponge cups with cool whip... I don't think that will overdo it for me- we are keeping our eats light today- As we all are watching our healthy living lifestyles. So No overeating, and no over the board fatty or sugary or calorie dense foods! Plain & simple....

When food disappoints you...

I don't think I can do this experiment with sweets, not just yet. But I have done it in the past- well sort of... I can think of a time when I ate a store bought Whoopie Pie. Now usually- As I had purchased them in the past they were VERY MOIST and delicious. But with this one- this one time- It was old and stale... The frosting was even harder then it should have been. It wasn't smooth and creamy- it was flaky and just gross... I kept on taking bites- thinking it was going to change, and it didn't/then I finally gave up and threw the rest of it out. I also thought to myself- I had chosen this. I purchased this dessert with my money- so I had better enjoy it because there were other bakery items I could have bought, but didn't. I took it as a loss.

Another time is when I bought these Apple Strudel Bites.... they were NOT like I remembered when I was younger and my mom would purchase them... they were dry and just like jam smeared in them, not like bits of small diced apple pieces and goodness... It's just as well- because now they are not even considered in the many choices of what I shall get for a fix...

I just don't think I can handle this assignment at this time in my journey...

I ALWAYS over-do it! It seems I don't have a lot of control yet around certain foods- especially sugary pastry kinds....

Today's Lesson:: Letting Go of Guilt


Last Night was just this time! I ate a T.V. Dinner- (I Never do anymore) and was brought back into complete bliss! I don't quite remember growing up and eating these type of dinners all the time- maybe sometimes, yes... But eating last night's dinner brought back some fond feelings and bliss! Now when I was actually "tasting" the foods in the separated portions, I tasted too much SALT and SUGAR! So I will keep the other T.V. Dinner I have for a few weeks down the road or whenever I choose...!

Few words: How it feels to be satisfied with food

1) Completely Full & Satisfied- no need to go back for more-
2) At Ease & Relaxed

Today's Lesson is to Practice Savoring our Chosen Piece of Food Item

Today- It chose me- I didn't choose it: It was a Sausage Burrito From McDonalds... I know- I know bad choice- but it was all I ate for breakfast. Now Did I ever savor that Burrito. I ate it very slowly- only small nibbles at a time. I paid attention to texture in my mouth and even ate it slowly and deliberately enough that I discovered a pepper seed in one of my bites...((had to take it out)). I did well with this assignment. And I found I was NOT hungry. I wasn't hungry for another one or a few hours later even... I would like to say I may keep practicing- maybe with some heavy duty chocolate- antioxidant kind--- but I'm nervous!

Divide several of your food items in half, then eat only that much

Do this half off special with at least 5 foods.

In your journal record the foods you are along with how it felt to leave half of the food behind.


Personally? This sounds like a GREAT tip to try... but I honestly don't know if I can do it.. I know with this attitude- I can't, but I have a lot of underlying emotional eating... I feel STUCK... As I don't want to spend anymore time on here as I have to- but I want to investigate this emotional eating business... I want to read some articles as to how I can overcome eating and eating and eating... It's not because I'm hungry either...

Day 19-Oh Day 19

Estimating Serving Sizes and Serving Sizes Etc...

To be totally honest with you all- I now that this Chapter about serving sizes has been brought to my attention- I have been going about eating in ALL THE WRONG WAYS... No wonder I am so overweight!

What usually happens for instance is I cook. I cook enough for about 13 HUNDRED people- yep I STILL have yet to learn to make JUST ENOUGH for my daughter and I and then just me on the days she is not here.... So I make TONS of food! there is basically no one here to eat it except me- or us... NOW if we stop right there- I need to relearn how to cook for 1-2 people.

Also- What do I expect to way when I am eating SO MUCH leftovers..? They sometimes last a few days- sometimes not- but at 4 days MAX in the fridge- ? COME ON!!!! I have some MAJOR Changes to make! Not only that- but when I do make a sweet dessert or whatever it is... NO WONDER I scarf it down--- Yep- usually I eat most of it! This is some HARD--- very difficult learning...

Now Portion control- or estimating portions? This takes on a whole new light.... If it isn't around and isn't looking at me in the face each time I open the fridge- I wouldn't be so apt to eat it.... Yes- I do need to learn estimating portions and portion control- but I also need to take it a step back to learn to cook for 1 to 2 people....

I find this a hard lesson to learn. For example: We went out to the Olive Garden ((Pasta Restaurant)) in between my daughter's hockey games last week. there wasn't much for me to order as I am trying to watch what I eat- so I ordered from the "light" category. It was a dish that had 600 calories. I ate 1/2 then brought home the other half... Linda doesn't want us to do this... We are to leave the rest of the dish behind?? I couldn't bring myself to do this due to the dish cost me $16.95... Anyway- I will keep trying this assignment as I honestly WANT and NEED help.. So I am going to leave a small amount behind at each meal...

I tell you... I am one to definitely feel "guilty" for throwing out food... Well. MOST of the time. And that has been passed onto me by my mom. Even my mother STILL steps in when she discovers I may have thrown something out. She will give me the 3rd degree. That isn't TOO often- but often enough where it's annoying.

I'm one to pretty much TRY to eat all that I have taken. This I will work on.. After I have fueled my body- I am done. I do not need to eat it all!

We have really cut back on the amount of foods we keep in the house. Fresh fruits and Veggies- well those- there is some in the fridge. But for snacking foods- I don't even hardly buy them anymore, I just don't bring them in the house for the chance of eating them- or overeating them even. At first it was a difficult transition- but we managed.

All it takes is two bites of food to get that healing sensation one needs... I have to agree-sometimes eating the whole darn Pint of Ice Cream can lead to one feeling terrible about themselves because they didn't stop earlier. So it can definitely be a catch 22. I think if I could just "train" myself to STOP after I ate those 2 bites- life would be a whole heck of a lot easier, but it isn't as easy as that.

I just can't chance doing this exercise just yet. When the time comes when there is more people around to share in a dessert that I have in the house- I will definitely give it a try. ((I just don't want to chance it)). The first 2 bites always taste so good- and the rest- I agree with Linda- are just to finish off the food...

I think breakfast split into 2 small meal is a terrific option for me- as I wake up so darn early most days of the week- so I will probably even change the MOST days of the week to ALL the days of the week- so I don't get so "tired" from my sleeping patterns changing and what not... I am at least going to keep Linda's tip for eating every 3-4 hours daily...

A small nourishment as soon as or within 1 hour- I hear is good. So I am going to keep that habit. emoticon

I don't actually go too long without eating... honestly- the assignment for today isn't really a problem for me.. BUT: I do have a problem with when my sleeping patterns get thrown way off and I am awake very early and have to sleep very early so I can get some sort of sleep--- I have a difficult time with eating "on plan." Or Picking a time for Breakfast- Lunch- & Dinner. I think if I just work on spacing all eating out 3-4 hours apart- this process will work for me and my life..

+Fueling My Body+

I can tell you something.... I fuel my body with healthier foods compared to the past. The Cheap Carbohydrates were more accessible for our family; examples are Large boxes of breakfast cereals,breads, sweets, cookies & cakes, snack crackers, chips. These were problematic foods for us I can say even just up to months ago.... they were the types of foods I was buying for my daughter & myself in order to fill us. It didn't matter to me as long as we had food in our bellies. I am ashamed to say: THAT WAS NOT EATING... or fueling the body. It was just barely getting us through. Now I am bringing home better foods that are better for us and better for a healthier lifestyle. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I get foods from the Veggies & Fruits department at the Supermarket, Dairy, & Meats & Nuts---- In all honesty- we have to work more on being open to more Grains... But we will get there! I believe we will!

Today's Homework

1) Write down all foods eaten today-rank them: Food or Filler
2) At the End of the day- How well did I meet my Fueling needs?
3) Determine if I will have to change some food items to other foods that better fuel the body.

I thought this days topic hit home with me... I find myself constantly eating- so I believe writing down the times I choose to eat is a great idea. It shall give me some perspective as to what are my weakest moments/times of giving in... I think using the idea of eating as either fueling the body or appreciating the flavors of what you are eating is a PERFECT way to look at eating. It gives me the impression to Slow down. Appreciate and be grateful for the food. Mindfully eating. Usually I eat in a hurried pace- almost as if I am competing as a driver in the NASCAR Association.

So today I will try my best to record the time in which I eat ....
I will also space my meals 3-4 hours apart
I will also notice if any I have any added energy & focus

Compliments from family and loved ones...

Linda is so right on when she said in this chapter that I usually brush off or discount their comments... If I ever paid someone a compliment and they just brushed it off or didn't acknowledge it with a warm "thank you" I would be the type of person to definitely think twice before giving them another one...

I understand where she is coming from by encouraging them... that way they are more willing to send out more messages of compliments to you when and if needed... Try to keep it positive and upbeat ((your thank you for the compliment statement))....

Being Specific with our Loved Ones as what kind of support, help or no action we need from them is very important... It's not like they automatically know what we need from them...

1)f you see me eating something that's not on my diet plan- what do you want the loved one to do ((support wise))...:

I am kind of torn between having them ask me " should you be eating that?" or Ask me if I've had a bad day... The later question about having a bad day approaches the subject at a different angle- and forces me to "talk" about the situation or "talk" it out rather then the first question "should you be eating that?" makes me feel like it could lead to being scolded or it could make me feel bad..

2) When I'm making progress, such as losing weight: In the past I would have preferred compliments... But this is difficult because sometimes I find it impossible to accept compliments and I discount them.. I am getting better at accepting them though- so maybe that's the answer to this question for me.. I Wouldn't mind non food gifts or rewards or Praising me in front of others too..

3)When I'm struggling or gaining Weight... What to do.

I think tell me you notice and really care about the struggle, Hug and show extra affection and ask how you can help. All of these answers suit me.

4) When I'm making progress you can't see (inside stuff)

5) When I've maintained my weight even when though I may want to lose more.

Tell me you are proud of my current efforts. Compliment me on my looks and efforts.

This is going to be a pretty powerful journal day for me. Day 8- explaining what type of help I may or may not need from the ones I love.

I will start off with my daughter. I couldn't understand why she was so hard on me for making unhealthy choices and giving in to a lot of bad for me cravings. Wasn't I hard enough on myself? Didn't she see that? I had a heart to heart with her a few days back and she now realizes she can't be like that with me. I will have to dig a little deeper to see exactly what type of help I would like from her/ maybe encouragement, when she's proud of me tell me. when I start reaching major goals ((scale goals)). When it's noticeable the weight loss experience. etc. I think I can call her my Back-Up Cheerleader!

The next person I have to talk to is my mom... but with her it's difficult because she plays the victim and turns it around when I confront her- I don't know if she feels cornered like a raccoon in a trap- but she says things like: Well then- I'm sorry. Don't tell me or talk to me about it/complain about me... etc... It's really difficult and I have to work out some sort of approach.

I know with my mom- she is a big time food pusher in the worst type of way. I try not to tell her of all the progress I make or am making because it's like she is afraid of me changing and she tries to keep me in the same spot as I am.... My mom is definitely afraid of change... I don't think it's her ultimate lifetime goal to see me "fail" at getting healthy- but sometimes it feels like it. She also has comments for just about EVERYTHING I do. Especially when she would have chosen a different way of doing things. She reminds me all the time - when I make wrong decisions- like I can't figure that out on my own....

I'm so sorry I have complained so much about my mom. but it can be very difficult-

I CAN do it!! I CAN do it!!

Often- On Sparkpeople Community Feed- I see pictures of happiness... Pictures that show before and after sizes and shapes. Many people who post these pictures are very happy and willing to offer support saying- if THEY can do it- ANYONE can...I usually get very pumped up when reading these stories... but there was a time when I was like: well if it hasn't happened for me yet- maybe it won't. I was pretty much talking myself out of making changes and choosing to remain at my unhealthy state of being. It was almost as if I was just expecting "healthy" to fall out of the sky for me... Now I realize the only way I can and will get into this state of being is if I keep moving forward with making & staying consistent daily with healthy choices.

One way I can be successful is to not rely on other people to help me through- and become my own best MOTIVATIONAL CHEERLEADER... emoticon So Day 7's write up talks about how I can take on this roll of Cheering myself on.

I choose to repeat the mantra::::: I can and I will beat Obesity I will repeat this whenever I can.
~ I can do it because:: It makes me feel good to treat myself with loving kindness.It makes me feel good to be positive and kind to myself instead of negative and unkind. I feel more positive inside because I am treating myself more like I would a friend...

~I can do it because:: I count on myself to be the best person I can be... I don't want to wallow in self-pity and blame other's for making me this way- or blaming others for not helping me... Staying Morbid Obese is a CHOICE- getting healthy is a CHOICE.. I have picked my Choice and decide to TAKE CHARGE..

~I can do it because:: I am tough and do not easily back down... Especially when I am fighting for healthy living... I am NO QUITTER!!!! I CAN DO IT!!!!

~I can do it because:: I am making all sorts of Changes in my behaviors & habits.. Changing them to good- helpful habits.. And I am LOVING every step of the way... I CAN DO THIS!!! I am Determined and COMMITTED!!!! Whew.., Did I just say Committed?

Today's lesson sheds light on ways we can overcome situations that might throw us off our plans-- thus- when "all hell breaks loose," who knows what will happen?? giving up & throwing in the towel. Or picking ourselves up, dusting off and marching onward....?

As I can't say I have many "social" situations- where I have to be wary of in regards to protecting my plan- Some Close to me "push" food on me... or do not try to help me in any way when it comes to making proper- choices that are good for my health. I will have to read some articles on how to gently take care of and turn down the food pusher. Maybe not gently- but firmly & precise.

There are other time like when I am alone- bored & alone- or highly emotional.. and I have heard that sometimes I just have to get out of the kitchen and go for a walk... I don't know what the heck it is that draws me into the kitchen to stuff my face in the first place!! LOL... I will be putting the "getting the heck out of the kitchen- and walk" to use...

1 way I will protect my program will be to throw out that very small but expensive box of maple peanut brittle. I had a few small pieces and now I am ready to discard the rest of them. Today I had a small gain- as I have been weighing in daily- .4 lb gain. I don't want it to continue and to start sailing off course.... I will have to get better at calorie counting too. As I can write down everything I eat, I sometimes can't record the calorie count because I have no idea how many calories for veggies or fruit takes away from my allotment for the day...

I guess I can weigh them.. I bought that food scale and haven't even used it yet!! emoticon emoticon

~Ways of overcoming Weekend Boredom- So I don't overeat or go off my plan
- Exercise- Just do it attitude when it comes to exercise

I will have to think this one through... but I am wondering this....

I really do not have a craving of a certain food on a regular basis... But what I DO have is Spur of the Moment cravings- When I see a box or package of food in the grocery store- I just mindless plop it into the cart or basket... Without any thinking whatsoever except when I'm going to indulge...

Also- I find a trouble time for me is after I workout my body- I CRAVE to refuel it with whatever and tons of whatever snacks or foods I can find the quickest. It's almost as if I am lacking on Protein- and I need to eat from that food group... and then it's like I can't get enough.. I don't know if I should study these findings more? or not? But I thought I would share...

I think it's a good idea to put my craving into the journal- then write about how much of it I will eat AT ANOTHER TIME!!! Great thinking Linda!

Today is Day 4 of my 100 Day program...

---Narrow Road---This path will be used for when I am RIGHT ON TARGET--- Doing well and Confident in my new life style Changes and habits...

1) Calories in are 1560- Unless I get in a good workout
2) Cardio- at least 30 mins of walking outside or inside
Strength- I have Kettlebells, Dumbbells, Stretchies, Body Weight or Tubing
Stretching- Must do daily--- I tend to like the Chair Yoga Videos or there is Classical
by Miranda Esmonde- White DVD... ((She is terrific!!))
3) I must count calories each day in my special notebook. I will try my best to not leave foods out . I have difficult time with Bites, Tastes and nibbles- I will just have to stop that behavior- BUT 1 STEP AT A TIME!
4) I must have at least 1 serving or piece of fruit daily and at least 1 serving of veggie daily
5) Work on meditative breathing, mindfulness, guided meditation..trying for daily
6) I will have to look up Posture Exercises and Exercises for Better Balance



---Wider Road---This is a wider path- ((more forgiving)) and will be used on days for when I am not quite up to par with feeling well, maybe I am physically injured, on the road??!! This is a back- up plan for those not so easy to get through and follow my program days...


MUST STILL COUNT CALORIES!
1)Max calories in::1910 --- Unless I have a good exercising day with lots of movement
2)Exercise: Cardio- HAS to be at least 10 minutes daily
Strength- Exercises can be modified
Stretch- Chair yoga and or Chair Stretch
3) At least 1 Fruit and 1 Veggie Daily
4) If I will be on the Road for Daughter's Hockey- MESSAGE TO ME::::::: Please Please Please- Workout before you leave- and NOT put it off and say YOU WILL WHEN YOU GET HOME..... THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!!!!!!!
5) Try to do even if it's a short guided meditation video daily

emoticon One of my biggest eye openers on how much I was eating was weighing my cereal in the morning. Turns out my one serving was actually two! I still weigh my cereal every day. I am going to commit to weighing more of my food, if I don't weigh and measure I know I lie to myself on how much I ate.

There are countless actions I can take today to bring me closer to my goal staying committed to weight loss. There are a few actions I can take today- that I normally do not not- or do not WANT to do:

1)Record/Food Journal- I have to admit with the help of my friend Charlotte... I will be measuring and counting calories. Ugh... But it HAS to be done.. I also will have to sometime ease myself over to Walmart to pick up a Food Scale. This Method... I have to be honest with myself is probably the only one that will work for me...

2) Exercise: I am going to give vigorous exercise a small break. I have hurt my back, I don't want to set myself further back and to hurt it more... Maybe I can check out what I can do to get some sort of movement in... For today I am trying to just keep my back straight and in alignment.... NO SLOUCHING... Yoga can be too intense too- and I am going to work on stretching- while keeping my back straight with focus on breathing-- maybe meditation? That might work out better.

3) Get in at least 5 servings of Freggies today and every day after-

4) Do NOT buy any Desserts and or Keep any kind of sweets in the house.

5) Watch out for my Processed Carbs intake... Do NOT buy from this food group in excess- allow myself to- when I go Grocery Shopping, to buy from this food group, 1 package and or 1 box. That's it! No If's And's or But's...

6) NO FAST FOOD.... My latest cravings have been centered around the extra crispy piece of Chicken offered at Kentucky Fried Chicken..... NOT GOOD...This is becoming to be a problem. Now that I have brought my attention and focus to this... I am going to work on it

??Interested or Committed??
How I will Stick to my program~ NO MATTER WHAT

There are so many choices & changes I would like to make to my life that are swarming around in my mind... but as stated around most of this Sparkpeople website..... it's baby steps we are looking to make... .In all honesty I am not sure if I should jump in with both feet or take the baby steps... but I will post ways on how I will stick to my program----

Nutrition
1)Measuring Portions
2) Using small dinner plates & drinking lots of water even in between bites if needed...
3)remembering to try to drink a tall glass of water when I feel like I am hungry
4)eating more freggies-
5)Buying less processed foods
6)Keeping less sweet & sugary foods in the house
7)getting in lots of water- especially to flush out my system after taking daily meds...& keeping body hydrated

Exercise
1)Keep a JUST DO IT attitude
2)set a timer at a certain time- to get exercise in
3)When I find myself procrastinating and finding other things to do, everything but exercise... FORCE MYSELF to get in some sort of movement or cardio- strength
4)Set up a plan for getting in daily cardio- strength- and yoga or stretch---
5)set up a reward system for following the plan for exercise.....

Today I will Exercise- to prove I am Committed to my Program/I will also find the time to come up with a daily and weekly exercise plan to follow... While some days- it may be easier to reach these exercise goals and harder on other days... I will be able to follow my nutrition goals daily...

~Although it may drive me crazy and or crazier---- I am going to weigh myself daily... I honestly do not like this idea- but I am willing to change routines and habits to get & maintain results....

Here are my fears or negative behaviors that have hurt my successes in the past.

1) I easily give up
2) I throw in the towel after a missed day of not exercising for whatever reason.
3) Giving in once to a bad choice of say dessert- leads to many more bad choices and or giving up
4) I don't plan ahead.. especially if we are on the road for hockey or for whatever reason...
5) I don't consider the consequences when making unhealthy choices
6) I resume back to "old" patterns and habits

~I used to easily give up, but now I choose to revisit my reasons why I want to lose weight daily.
~I used to throw in the towel after a missed day of not exercising, but now I am changing this habit. If I miss a day- I just pick myself up- dust myself off- and keep moving forward!

~I'm not used to planning head, but now I'm willing to try this new strategy

Day 3- Do it Anyway

I am Committed! That's right. I'm C-O-M-M-I-T-T-E-D this time! I will have to plan out my food. That is the bit I struggle with even when I am committed.
- Just finished up with my other part of exercise. Early this AM- I went to the gym and now- I finished up a Jessica Smith workout routine. I will probably walk on the treadmill a bit later- but I will focus on that later! ((not now)).

I used to be that way, but now I'm different

I used to make goals- and NOT stick them through... Now I'm different. Each goal I make is a new and fresh goal. My quitting smoking is proof of that. It took me many attempts- each one being new and in of its own attempt.

I never used to have a plan to go along with my goals. but now I'm different- I plan out my lifestyle change to a tee.

I never understood why people say a change in lifestyle vs. a diet.... now I understand- and am willing to change my vocabulary to foster growth and progress.

I never stuck to daily exercise. This time is different. I made my plan- now I will follow it.

I never continued to get/give support from sparkpeople.... This time I say, "hey! That's what this site is for"
