Day 50, 100 days 10-minute solution!

Day 50 I made it thru half way thru my 100 days. Wow. Onward to the second half.

Yes that sounds doable. I am doing baby steps so not starting the exercising until august 1.
I do get more than 10,000 steps at work.

Todays 10 minute solution

If sitting longer than 30 minutes I must get up and walk around for 10 minutes.
really hot and muggy today so may only do what is necessary outdoors. tomorrow i have off so will work on getting my steps in .

Baby steps it is working scale is going down and pants are getting too big.

I will succeed!

Day 49, 100 days Just do something!

I totally agree. I do better when I do something . I ve been doing pretty good with nutrition sometimes though i am low on some of them. I do have lots of things that need to be done around the house. I guess I am not ready to tackle that. But as for my weight loss journey yes it is time to add a step. Been on the one step somewhere around 40 days. so i know it is a habit now. I did not start to day 5 or 7. Wow tomorrow is day 50.

1. Increase water to 8-8oz or more
2. add strength
3. exercise 10 min
4. get to gym
5. steps to 10000 on non work days.
6. Less sitting more moving.

My plan is to start the exercise routine August 1. so I will work on the water increase for the next three days.

Day 48, 100 days You gotta want to...

Is it Fate or con... The retreats I went to was called gotwannait,,,
Yes You gotta want to.

I did not do any can't yesterday. since I am doing baby steps I am not exercising so will use that one.

I can't exercise
I don't want to exercise.
Yes I want to exercise I will start in August. I want to get my 10000 steps in.

I want to stay on plan

I want to increase my water intake

I want to be a KOPS.... and I will achieve all these

emoticon Here is a glass of water. Drink up today! I challenge you to get in 1 glass more than you usually do. if you don't drink water than i challenge you to drink 3 glasses.

Day 47, 100 days Kick the can't!

Every Time you tell yourself you CAN'T do something you cement it as true!

I can't exercise. I cant' walk, I can't prepare my meals etc....etc...etc....
Guess what I am or I am working toward that goal. I used to say I can't now I say Baby steps I will start that when I am succeed at this one goal. I am working the exchange. My next step is to get started with exercise 10 minutes at a time and I will begin in August.

Nothing is impossible It may be hard or you may need to get the tools to accomplish it but it isn't impossible.

I am eating my exchanges
I am measuring
I am tracking
I am eating on a portion plate or a small plate
I am wearing my pedometer daily
I can exercise and I will begin on Day 60
I will increase my water intake

CAN'T is not allowed no more I CAN I WILL I AM AND I WILL SUCCEED. I WILL BE A KOPS BY DECEMBER 31. 2016. i never was as determined as i am now. Watch me succeed.

Day 46, 100 days If not food, then what?

Make a list of 10 things that are important, with food as #1, then remove food to #11 and put a new #1 in it's place.

Contemplate on this #1 and think of ways to apply your energy and passion to it throughout the day.

Food has't been my number 1 but the reasons I eat have been more emotional than eating to live.

Here is my list.

1. Me ( I am working on me)
2. sons
3. Mom
4. Sisters
5. TOPS friends
6. TOPS AC
7. Work-financial need
8. Home improvements and getting organized
9. Making new friends
10 spending time with friends and family

Weight loss and fitness should be on there but that is part of the me . I know I have to work on me for most of t he others to fall in place. It is good to have a list so we can focus on what needs t o be accomplished. like a grocery list. if we don't have one we buy all kinds of things we may not even want or need. and we can concentrate on the first two and things as I think Me should not ever be demoted or erased from the list. The only thing that is important about food is making sure my exchanges are account for each day.

Yesterday I had a great time celebrating my birthday we went to a play but got there an hour early so went to green mill and then i ordered coffee, fruit skewers, and broccoli. we then went to play with still 20 minutes to boot but that was okay we sat and talked. It so nice spending time with Sister and Mom. The play was a one person play. then we went to Rubys tuesday to eat a late lunch. I ordered steak and lobster and share the steak with Mom and half the veggies which was potato and spaghetti squash. I did leave some of steak. to insure some calories for the birthday ice cream it was the hugest sundae I ever ate or seen. but manage to leave some of that too. so with eating out I wasn't sure how t o count my exchanges. then my son rode with me to take my Mom home. we stopped at Menards to look at firepits. He bought me one. and a few other things for it. We then went to subway for supper after filling gas tank. I ordered the carved turkey. looked like a lot of meat so i told them to take one piece off. it tasted plenty good. so a very fun day and food was not important .
Day 45 100 days Food - Important or Not?

Not sure if I think food is important or not. I used to just eat and not think about it. Since the book and getting this far in the book I find a new perspective to look at food. Yesterday was my birthday. It wasn't really the focus of the day but I enjoyed what I ordered and it fit into my plan. I am sure I went over but scale is down today.

Some foods can be important enough to eat I think it would have to be special occasion but I really think the focus of the occasion is t he occasion not the food.

I plan my food for fuel and move on. I don't think about it like i used to. I plan meals so I can make sure I have the groceries I need in the house. I am not craving food like I used to either.

I wore these pants yesterday with lots of room in. I will wear them the bigger pants one more time before donating them.

Today is my birthday and I am staying on plan to best of my abilities.



Day 44 100 days It's not the right time


It is the right time for me, I've been on and off many diets since I've been a teenager. I have lost my weight before. but now I am not on a diet a new eating plan. a lifestyle change. i have stress in my life but who doesn't. some more than others. I wont go into detail. But we deal with it the best of our abilities. If you wait to be stress free that isn't going to happen.

I not sure what clicked for me and I knew it was t he right time. but this time I am going to succeed. I did start with the plan to day 7 but since then i've been on my plan and yes did i slip up on a meal too. but right back on it at the next meal.

I have lost the last 3 to 4 weeks in a row. lost 20 lbs for year. so there will be no more YO-YOs for me.

it is a mindset and i now have my mindset for success. Sometimes you have to take what you learned in the past and apply it. so i took one thing from my past dieting experience, I have to take baby steps. so that's is what I am doing. but soon I know I will be ready to add a new step.

MY TIME IS NOW TODAY off to make my healthy breakfast ....... emoticon Today is my birthday and I am going to take photos so can journal when i get home.

Such a powerful little word.

I choose the plan I am on
I choose to work

I have to does make it sound like a order

You can have reason behind your choices but I don't have to do until I choose to do it.

Day 42, 100 days Make it matter

Yes overweight bothers me as I wouldn't of joined TOPS in the first place. it makes it easier to do things when i lose weight. It makes so you can fit into the seats of airplanes, or amusement park rides. Wearing smaller size clothes to pick them off the rack without trying them on. and now my highest rate is becoming a KOPS, graduating as one. and to maintain after reaching my goal weight.and also to be an inspiration to all my family members and my fellow TOPS members and my health so I can be here longer for my children and my grandson.

i've been shy and withdrawn most of life, losing weight help me become more assertive. it gets me out of the box. Every day is an improvement for the better. But I cant wait for the end results of a new and improved me.

No I am not going to go back to my old ways. I know i am on the right path to recovery. I cant wait to be where I am headed to. To a healthier Me to a New KOPS and a new way of life with a healthy way living.

I CAN DO THIS AND I WILL. I WILL REACH MY GOAL ONE STEP AT A TIME.

Day 41, 100 days Motivation is a choice

Yes I like what you wrote too. "You are Never gonna feel like it'"

Days 31-40 Completed! Don't Stop Now. "Just Do One More Day."

What has helped in the past ? Exercise Well going with a buddy helped. Make plans with a trainor. that costs money though got wanna do it.


As for nutrition, not sure where and how I got motivated but going to retreats helped but then i did not do well coming home. but starting the book I did not start right away. but on day 7 there abouts it clicked. and I decide to get going. I know I need to do baby steps one step at a time. so working on nutrition onlyI am and it is working. I will start with the exercise on Day 50.

Have gym bag packed yep that is done.

Check out some classes and pick one to start

go before work or it may not get done

Get a play list

Put it in planner

Motivation is a choice You do have to find those incentives or tricks to boost your motivation. It comes from you from within yourself. sometimes it takes longer and harder to find it. No one can build your motivation up but you.

Day 40: Having an eating experience.

I don't have plans for an eating experience. I have to work and only having a sandwich. but I will savor the flavors as I eat it. but most suppers I do make sure I have my exchanges counted for. I will work on making my suppers eating experiences.

I prefer the quiet less noisy places. when we go to eat my mom and I choice places where it is easier to watch my exchanges. But also a place where we will enjoy the food. I will work on savoring the flavors at all my meals. I have been to the noisy ones as long as I am with good company great friends or family I am okay with it.

Wow 40 days completed. No they haven't been perfect but I am doing them to the best of my ability. Onward to 50 where we will be half way thru. I agree Chele that they do build on each other and guide me and you and all others in the continues succession or direction you want to reach.

Tomorrow will be the 40th day WOW, ten more days I will be half way thru. I cant believe I made it this far. The book has helped me stay on plan. some days I stray but right back on it the next meal.
Day 39, Flavor or texture


hmmm this is a hard one. sometimes it depends on the situation and the timing. in my oatmeal sometimes i like crunchy so add nuts. or granola to the yogurt. sometimes it is flavor sometimes it tastes bland so i add stevia to the oatmeal.

i don't do donuts and my sweets have been very limited. but I like candy pies cakes i like them all . LOL. eating oatmeal used to buy the pkg flavored kind now i make my own adding my own fruit and flavors. all these are more for flavor not texture. so i guess it depends what it is. But soon will be my birthday so will have one piece of angle food cake as that is what i requested from my Mom.

my son doesn't like mushrooms he says it is the texture for him.

what am i missing emotionally- i guess it would be a companion a special friend who i can do things with, confide in. all my friends live too far away. as far as filling food yes i used to now if it not in my plan i dont eat it. but used to. i will work at adding my fitness to fill the emotion. only sometimes it bothers me. But who knows what the future will bring.

Day 38 - Food as Power

I guess I gave food power as when it called my name I answered. I ate I conquered it.

But now If I have my exchanges in I find something to do If not I find something healthy that I can journal. I wont let food call the shots anymore. I am in control and I can and am making healthier choices by following the exchange lifestyle change. soon I wont even think of food as power.

I can and will enjoy the smells the flavors of each bite I take.

3 more days to have another 10 days under the belt. I am doing this Yeah little old me or rather reducing old me. old habits die hard. new habits take time to get a routine.

Day 37 - 100 Days I Love to Eat

I used to love to bake. but with my son with a family of his own. it is only me and my other son and he like more like dairy queen and such. recipes are more for at least 4 or more. and I do not want it sitting in house calling my name. and i hate to throw things out.

I am was more of a processed food cooker like hamburger helper etc. it is hard to switch over to ways of cooking where it takes more time like chopping up veggies etc. and it still makes more but not that it is more nutritious I do save for another meal or freeze it for another day.

Not sure if I have favorite foods any more. but I do like Pizza, and enjoy fish and beef esp. eating out. I guess desserts were my downfall esp. home made and candy and ice cream. I do still have ice cream and pizza. but candy i am choosing not to have . I bought some cinnamon almonds, if they only added the cinnamon it would of been fine but 20 grams of sugar were added and it was way too sweet for my taste buds now. so grandson and son are enjoying them. but i know I wont be eating much candy as the sugar gives me a headache now.

But yes I used love to eat unhealthy foods now I enjoy eating and love eating heathy foods. strange how it has changed in just a few weeks. but i have been on so many diets i cant even count them but never did get into the healthy part of it. it was more about calories or carbs.

When you are ready to stay on your plan you do what needs to be done to stay there and to reach your goals your dreams with inspirations from others and .....

Day 36, 100 days, Slow down your eating

Hmmm hard to do at work when you have so minutes. but yep I do need to work on this although I don't eat as fast as my sons. I tell them to slow down and enjoy the food. they say they do. not sure how much they taste.

I need to put my utensils down between bites. taking 20 minutes will be easier at home though. we need to listen to what our bodies need. we grew up learning to ignore the signals now we have to retrain ourselves to listen. Are you listening??? I am going to work on listening to them.

I did ask for 2 oz at the restaurant i thought it looked like more but on website it says 3pz so even if them messed up i did not do too bad. but we need to ask if we want to stay on our plan.

: Day 35, 100 Days The eating pause

Its something I never noticed before. but I guess I stack the dishes at restaurants so I wont continue to eat.
Since I started 35 days ago I measure my food so not much chance of a pause. but if I do get one I go and put in ziplock for later or tomorrow. before yep just kept eating as no measuring so had more than my portion needed.

and of course in restaurants a huge helping was given and i payed for it so i was gonna eat it regardless . now I box it up or ask for exact measurements. maybe should be my own scale LOL.

I will have to watch to see what other people do. For me I am going to listen and be aware when I am full not to keep eating. I can do this, I will do this.

TOPIC: Day 34, 100 Days Listen Accurately

Listen to my stomach will take some practice. But I never really did that before except when I was overstuffed. ended up take rolaids and in misery for a while. Heartburn wow did it burn.
I find when I don't overstuff myself I have no need to take anything for heartburn or a overstuffed stomach.

I will remember that being comfortable is the feeling I want No need to eat to overstuffed. food will be there tomorrow or for a snack. Divide the meals in half so you can enjoy it twice.

Time is just flying

This reminds me my of my grandson His dad asked him if he wanted some of his ice cream cone. He said No thank you Daddy, I am full. another story of my own is I prepared a lunch for work it was quinoa and veggies. I could only eat half as I got over full. It was so filling. so I ate the rest when I got home.

I think we overeat and don't pay attention to the signs we need to listen to.I do need to work it on more with less filling foods. I can do this.

Day 32, 100 Days The 5-Hour Rule

I used to eat just because it was there Now since being more successful at following since starting the book I don't eat right away in morning and then my lunch meal is spaced when I am hungry and if I have two breaks I bring a snack. I start my morning off with tea then switch to coffee until I am hungry enough for breakfast.

I have been doing the hour spacing for a while sometimes I will make sure it been at least 3 hours if sooner I either did not get my nutrition in or I am thirsty.

I will do a fruit or a portion of crackers or yogurt or nuts.

I slip up yesterday. but back on track today. I decided not to hop on scale this am but will tomorrow.
Days 21-31 completed!

Don't stop now Do one more day. I can do this I am doing this.

Days 31-40 Listen to your body

Day 31, 100 Days Hunger Scale

Hunger scale 0 Not hungry
-1 A little hungry
-2 Very hungry
-3 Starved

At work I dont take my lunch break until I am -1 which is usually half thru my shift I only get a 15 minute break so I wait til I get hungry.

At home been trying that but also don't want to eat too late at night either. usually my sign of hunger is the growling stomach. I guess I don't usually let it get past that unless I am involved or having fun.

I will pay attention. I do try to bring a healthy snack when I think I might need in case of hunger.

Before I started the book I did not pay attention and ate by the clock or just because it was there. Now I am working my plan and if I slip I am right back on track the minute afterwards.

The choices are mine whether right or wrong. no one else fault. I just have to say No thank you or compliment them but say I am full. I want to eat until i am satisfied not overstuffed.

No more slipups this week.

Wow Day 30 cant believe I made it thus far.



Day 30, 100 days Postpone eating

Well postponing the bread basket they bring might not work for me. I either avoid it or tell them we don't want any. but of course could ask they bring it with meal instead.

soon it will be my birthday. told Mom No cake. but maybe i may let her get a angel food cake. Regular cake isn't something I crave.

But yes I can postponing eating when at home. I do postpone breakfast as don't eat until later. it works esp on work days as then i can have my lunch when I get hungry again. at home it works too as then can make meals for two instead of one.

Since I have been on this plan I have not craved foods like I used too. and not so hungry after supper. the meals are more spaced. as if i need a snack it is too.

but now it seems I have to find things to get all my exchanges in. My calories are there in the ballpark but i get low on my carbs and fats and milk. Being in balance can be hard.

Day 29 - Handheld Foods

I am not like I used to be. But I been watching my weight grow for years. and shrink up and down. some of it due to the snacking. but now I don't eat them in huge quantities I do put them on a plate.
but never tied t o eat a nut with a spoon. yep that would make me give it up . but nuts are the healthy fat. so i count them out. but sometimes if i buy a honey coated one they are gone way too soon. I need the regular ones. One time I put them in snack bags. but now I do measure my chips.

As for granola bars or protein bars I dont even go there as who can only eat half. and I dont want to count the carbs I want to use my exchanges on something I really enjoy.

The veggie egg muffins were good and satisfying. But I lost 3.6 and total was 6.4 for month. Yeah I gonna start eating before going then I don't have to worry. At 201 so close to be under the 200 mark

Day 28, 100 days Eating because it's there

I remembering doing that millions of times. The fridge was to blame it was calling me for that last piece of pie or a bowl of ice cream or the cupboards for some chips. Sometimes to finished up the carton even if more than a portion.

Sunday I went to Costco and you know all the samples they have. some bring their family for their meals. Well I looked at them read some labels but I did not have one.

If I decide to have something It has to be portioned out. Once you put the plan in motion one step at time. You don't want things and the fridge don't call my name anymore. But it can become a habit real easy so you aways have to be aware.

Day 27, 100 days Eat dessert when it's special

desserts that are special- Homemade -and special times Get togethers with family and special friends. if they are many then I need to choose which one is more special and limit them to one or two a month. but if sometimes i just need a treat it will be low and countable.

the special dessert will have to be homemade and a recipe that i can obtain so can get the nutritional information. sometimes it might not be but then the occasion will have to be super special.

Sometimes TOPS friends and events are special so that will be decided on occasion and how i planned for it.

My birthday is coming up so that will be special. since not going to IRD I will get to spend it with my family. but will account for accountable dessert. I always loved angel food cake and watermelon since I been little. so i will most likely go that route again.

Day 26, 100 days When food disappoints you

What is a peanut tracker?

I cant count the number of times I ate a food that I though was gonna be delicious only it to be dry or hard or something else. Yes I did finish eating . as throwing food away was wasteful. I now do that or freeze something I cant eat before it spoils.

Now if I want something, I will account for it. If it doesn't taste right, I will throw it out. Just like babies or toddlers they spit it out if they don't like it.

I am going to a steak dinner at church, a fund raiser. so I will experiment with that today. If i dont like it, I will leave on plate and toss out.

Day 25, 100 Days Smaller amounts, less often

Favorite foods- Not sure I have any I have lots of foods I love to eat though I like Pizza, Lasagna, Burritos, Tacos, Ice cream , candy chocolate mainly. Well candy, and maple nut ice cream I can not keep in the house . i do have vanilla schwans is hard to keep in house so right now I have Aldi's brand. I am able to control or it may be I am in the right frame of mind now.

What food should i use as a treat day I know I love a great breakfast out. Bacon or saugage with eggs and toast or pancakes. so I will do that Once a month. Eating 1/2 either taking home or leaving some on plate. So July 14 is my birthday that is t he day . I usually dont eat the foods that are triggers.

25 days I cant believe I am this far along.before I only got to day 7.

Eat your favorite foods but smaller amounts and less often.

decided on cones for smaller portions and not every day. I will work on limiting them to two to three times a month instead of daily.

Day 24, 100 days Eat for Satisfaction

As in the book, I remember thinking I had to have something ate, then something else was calling my name, Ate both of them. I didn't feel satisfied. I still wanted more.




Since working the exchange I dont feel hungry like I used to at night even the calories are low and I need to add some exchanges.

I feel satisfied making the right choices. but knew I need some carbs. I ate ice cream cone so could control the portion. no more bowls. I was satisfied and I enjoyed it.

I tend to eat slower at home as at work there is a time limit so need to get set up that takes 5 minutes before I eat so you have to eat fast.

If I am aware of what I am eating I know I will be satisfied.

I got some vegies and fruit in house now so I will savor those instead of the candy.



Day 23, 100 days Savoring!

I wont be getting the chocolate just to savor. I get that in the house I would be off plan as I would enjoy it too much to just have one. no matter the kind of chocolate.

But the next dessert i have i will savor the flavor eating only half or sharing it with a friend.
sometimes it hard to thorw or left half but thinking do i want it on me , the answer is NO I want all the excess fat gone. so stick to my plan I will.

I will savor my supper as no time at lunch today.
