Thanks, Vicki! That sounds like I should be able to get the info, although I will go back to the Sleep Clinic for them to check how things are going, and they may have some suggestions as well.

I slept from midnight to about 2, shut off the light, rolled over & went right back to sleep. When I woke at 5am to go to the bathroom, it was a different story, dozed off & on until time to get up @ 7am. All this should be recorded on the CPAP machine, and will be downloaded when I go back next month.

Vicki - at least you have a garden & a new tree to appreciate the rain. I have the world's worst brown (black?) thumb when it comes to plants. I have managed to keep my Christmas Cactus alive for over a year, but most everything dies on me. emoticon

Check in with you all on the flip side. emoticon

On the run trying to get the beginning of Spring under control! Began with a horrendous spring thunderstorm. The garden and the baby cypress tree are both happy with the rain.

Oh Deb! Hope your injection alleviates the discomfort. Just the thought of the injection causes me to cringe. emoticon . Perhaps there is a way to make the c-pap mask less uncomfortable. Check with the manufacturer online. I've gotten answers to dilemmas that way more often than not. Glad to hear your sleep last night was relatively uninterrupted. Hope it is a sign of restful nights to come.

Left a message for SpritSeeker2 (Fluffy) and let her know we're missing her. Watching for new members to invite here for the daily contact.

Hi everyone! Day 4 w/CPAP, slept a little better last night, only woke up at 530am!

Today, I go in for my third Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection. Having two herniated discs in my neck is very painful, and the CPAP mask puts pressure right on that spot, so hoping for some relief. Need to figure out how to make the pressure on my forehead a little easier to bear. If it ain't one thing. it's something else.

Hi guys! Looks like we're on a good roll for the time being. Gardens busting their buttons with fresh lettuce no less get my attention.

I've put out the word that in addition to this thread, the SPRING CHAT ROOM is now open and it will be where we visit, ask questions, lend support, encourage each other... Well, you get the idea. Come on over when you have a minute.

@Monnie - Come to CHAT! I want to learn more about your supplements.

@Deb - Keep us in the know about your sleep pattern. Need 8 hours or so to keep well rested and healthy.

My sleep pattern is a bit disturbing right now but I usually sleep quite well.

See everyone on Tuesday....hugs and blessings

Morning all!

lmrats (I always wonder what some of these acronyms mean) Nice to see you. Glad your gardens are doing so well.

Vicki - I failed my 1st sleep study & had to repeat, this time with a CPAP machine. Doc said I only slept 64% of the time & my O2 level was down to nearly 70% (Not good.) So I am now using a machine to help me sleep. I still wake up @ 130am, 530am & 7am, so still not sleeping through the night. Me thinks there is still something else going on... We shall have to see what gives.

Anyway, Here's to a wonderful Spring, and hoping that we don't have a horrendous Summer. emoticon

Morning Vicki! Good to see your post. Speaking of gardens, we got a hot bed going with assorted lettuces and onions. It is days ahead of itself, already popping thru the soil in just 4 days after planting. Guess it really likes all of the horse manure. LOL We're having beautiful weather also. This keeps up and we'll be getting the BIG garden ready to plant.

We spent yesterday getting all of our potted plants out of the house. ALL of them survived!! YEAH! Always makes me feel good to see new growth coming on.

Hubby and I have started a new supplement regimen. ME, I'm doing GREAT! Larry not as well. The last couple of days his heart rate has jumped up. So today he plans to cut out the supplements and start them over one at a time until we can isolate which one is giving him a problem.

I feel so good that I have decided to go back into the work force. At 58 and battling lyme disease an breast cancer, I thank my Lord everyday for giving me this new sense of freedom.
Eager to get on with this new chapter in my life.

Uncertain how this slipped by without comment for 2 weeks but we can pick it up again now.

My world is going great. Minimum pain during spring break vacation this week. Thank you, LOrd! Weather is absolutely gorgeous and makes you want to get out and dig in the garden, My digging days are over but my daughter and husband are seeing that we have fresh veggies (IF they grow - lol) and granddaughter is excited at prospect of fresh cucumbers.

@Deb - hope the news you got about the sleep study was good. Not sure what 'good' would be in these circumstances, but that is what I hope for you. Love your profile pic! Is that 4 generations?

@Everyone - keep an eye out for new Topics in this Forum. I found a couple of new ones by new members albeit a little late. Hope we can get them to come on over. The topic where there are 3 new members posting about pain: New...But Not New!

@Vicki - Forgetting your meds is not good. Believe me, i know. Even if you just take them 2-3 hours late, it makes a whole lotta difference. It'll get better, it just takes time.

@Fluffy - Thanks, it's good to hear someone else's perspective.

@Everyone - thank you for all your good wishes. I, too, didn't sleep as well as I do at home. But now, at least, the Sleep study is over! I have an appt on 3/15 about the results, unless they call me sooner, to do another with a CPAP machine. Apparently, I shook the rafters with my snoring. LOL

Gotta laugh about life's little quirks, otherwise all we'd do is cry. :~} emoticon emoticon

Checking in - today was a better, but not great, day. Moral to this story is don't forget your meds.

Fluffy - so you had a sleep study too? I think I'm one of the few people around who hasn't had one. lol

Deb - sweet dreams! Anxious to hear the outcome.

Hi guys! Hope all are well.

Deb - not to be concerned about the sleep study. As you say, what will be.... I just hope they are able to identify issues so you can get some relief. Missed my meds last night and haven't had a good day as a result. I rarely miss, but when I do I pay a price. Tomorrow will be better since I've taken tonight's already.

Sorry I missed you yesterday. Vicki, i hope you are feeling better. Having a hypo episode is scary, and it always takes me a long time to recover. Had my second CESI today for the pain in my neck from 2 slipped disks, I sure hope it helps to control the pain. Have a headache right now, but not as bad as when I had the 1st one. Tomorrow night I go in for my sleep study. Kinda nervous. What if I have a good night? Oh well, what will be will be.

Good evening! monday has been an uneventful day,, until this evening. Had a very low blood sugar and although I ate 2 cookies and a yogurt the effects still aren't gone an hour later. Worst part of it is that I can't see due to large spots in front of my eyes. Sure I'm gonna hit the bed and hope all is well in a little bit. Good night!

hugs and blessings! See you Tuesday.

Boy do I know about that sleep apnea and the shortness of breath. It is terrifying...like I'm drowning. Deb, hope the test gives results so you can get the treatment you need. I have friends on the C-pap machine, with extra O2, and they are doing great. They report they are a whole new person now. Fluffy, sorry you were ill and didn't get to go to the Center with your beautiful headband and those wonderful mardi gras beads. Hope all is well now and you are feeling up to snuff.

The wonderful day...Friday..is upon us and then the weekend. South Texas certainly has no snow...we were at 83 today. Weird weather...supposed to get down in the 40s tomorrow. Hard to know whether to use the heat or the a/c. Certainly hope all of you are in safe weather zones and not experiencing tornadoes, powerful winds or blowing snow. Take care.

Thanks, Debi. I've tried those but even the smalls are uncomfortable and don't stick to my nose. Since I had sinus surgery, I've been able to breathe through my nose with no problem, but I can feel the back of my airway collapse when I sleep on my back. The result - I wake up to a loud snore and gasping for breath. So I started sleeping on my stomach. Now I wake up in a panic, in the middle of the night, feeling like I'm smothering, and gasping for breathe. It may be some of my medication, because I also get short of breathe during the day when I've exerted myself.

Had my consultation at SleepMed. They want me to do a sleep study 03/01, overnight, cuz I have all the symptoms of sleep apnea. Then will hear about the results 03/15. All I can do is wait. Off to a job interview today.

Happy Mardi Gras - or 'Fat' Tuesday. Today is a day of excessive food and drink since it is the last day before Lent. Historically, Lent was a time of fasting and people anticipated it by bingeing one last time before it began. Consider this a reminder! We don't fast like they used to in the 'olden' days. Furthermore, bingeing wouldn't cover the fasting anyway... just make you hungrier on the following day. Get out your beads and play a little Zydeco music to celebrate Mardi Gras. The parades are phenomenal in New Orleans but all the revelry ends at midnight and the streets of the city are once again clean and beautiful on the first day of Lent - Ash Wednesday. Some religions acknowledge the first day of Lent by receiving Ashes on their forehead - 'Remember man that thou art dust, and to dust you shall return' is the prayer accompanying this ritual.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Good luck Deb!

Well, I'm off to SleepMed for my initial consultation about sleep apnea. We shall see what's what!

Cheer up Fluffy! We AVERAGE 1-2 pound loss per week. There will be times when there's no loss. Just keep on tracking and exercising. You'll see loss and be proud.

Hey, hey, it's Monday and a new week is upon us. Only 10 more days to March and the beginning of spring. WooHoo

All is well here, although hubby has succeeded in tearing his meniscus. He's using my old walker and we make quite a pair - his and hers walkers. LOL

Stay the course. Track your nutrition and get your exercise in. Have a great day and a great week.

Hi Vicki

Had a sit down & feel better now. lol

Rory is now almost 10 months old, and a handful. Yesterday she stood up all by herself. No steps yet, that I have seen, although my daughter says that she has taken a couple of steps. So, better start getting those cabinet locks and stuff installed soon. :-)

A game would be fun, its up to you all!

Happy Saturday. Lots of rain here in Katy, TX, but we're finally overcoming the drought of the summer so noone is complaining.

Yesterday I ate less than 1000 calories and that is an accomplishment. I've been eating far too many carbs lately. So now my new goal is 30 per meal and 15 per snack. Hopefully that will result in some measurable weight loss.
