I did 35 of kickboxing this morning and then walked 15 min during morning break and 15 (very hot) minutes during afternoon break. I am just going to figure out how to bring my own personal air conditioner out with me walking :) Thanks for the challenge!

I got my walking in on my lunch break. As far as the stairs, we don't have any at work or home so i'm swimming for 75 minutes instead this evening.

Wow, I love that Mark Twain quote! I have been breaking up tasks into smaller components for a long time. It's what I most love about tackling tasks: the fragmentation makes any size job seem so doable. Thanks for posting that one as well as the graceful yoga nike video. What a role model that young woman is for people!

I've been doing the sun salutation (both a and b) for about two weeks now, ever since it was first brought up on this challenge... and I'm hooked! It does change my outlook for the day, whether the sun is there or nor (which has been the case most days lately). Though I have to add, I'm not sure how Joseph (the yogi) would feel about me doing the salutations almost immediately after I do my morning espresso hit!

I'm in for the steps as well as that neck thing... I really need that one.

emoticon That's Right! Every 2 to 3 hours, about 3-5 times during your day you should QuickFire Yourself to a 10 to 15 minute fast walk. emoticon

Put in those earphones and WALK IT OUT! Most every hospital, home, office or most any environment you find yourself in has some hall, sidewalk, long room etc., that you can use. Take Your QFC Outdoors, if possible. Improvise and Make It Work!

You may be surprised about how winded you get from this QuickFire Challenge. Make it count! Pick up those feet high and stretch it out. Put all you have into these QuickFires and the QuickFire will return the favor! These little bursts of energy will surely QuickFire Up Your Day!

1. Start out with two trips up and down a flight of stairs.

2. For your next two trips, pick up the pace going up the stairs, and walk down at a moderate pace.

3. For trips five and six, take giant steps by placing your foot on every other step. Walk down at a moderate pace.

4. The seventh and eighth trip you should vigorously pump your arms (think Rocky) as you climb, then walk down slowly.

5. Finally for the last two minutes, perform quick steps up and down on the bottom step (like a football drill). emoticon

If necessary, hold on to the railing when descending the steps.

Begin in a seated position

GET SET & STRETCH!
Bring your left ear down towards your left shoulder and hold. Roll your head down towards the ground and bring your chin to your chest. Hold and finally, roll your head to the right and bring that ear to your right shoulder. Inhale and exhale in a slow and controlled manner. Repeat twice.

You should be relaxing your neck muscles and using the weight of your head for this stretch. Do not attempt to force your head lower with your neck muscles or your hands. Stop immediately if you feel any discomfort.
