Four for the 4th!! I like it!! (And glad we don't celebrate our independence on the 31st of July, otherwise 31 for the 31st might just kill us :-)

Anyway, knee still being what it is (had it drained again today), I'll do four "somethings" - just haven't decided what yet, since the windmill arms, and burpies are kinda out of the question. But the push-ups are a definite.

Stand with legs wide, arms straight out to the sides and parallel to the floor.

Bend the right knee into a side lunge and bring the left arm down towards the foot.

Come back up, rotating the arms, and lunge to the left, bringing the right arm down towards the foot.

Continue lunging side to side (your arms will move like a windmill). The faster you go and the lower you lunge, the harder it is.

2. Twist your upper body to your left side, as if you were attempting to look over your shoulder.

*It is crucial to keep your head straight when performing the twist.

*When you have twisted as far as possible, hold the position and squeeze your oblique muscles for a count of three.

3. Return to the starting position in a smooth and controlled manner, not jerking your torso to the other side.

4. Repeat on the other side.

As with anything new, introduce your body to the QuickFires gradually. These will work your body in a very different way than you are used to, so take it easy!

If you aren't breathing while QuickFiring, then you're doing them wrong.

Create your own QuickFire Circuit by choosing different QuickFire Challenges and doing each one for a minute as hard as you can for a high intensity workout.
