Thanks! I can do 3 days:) I can really feel my body responding and eating ever 3 hrs helps to fend off hunger and binge eating. I need to start packing a cooler for the day, I think that would help me keep in track!

I used to low carb (now I just "reasonable" carb), but cold-turkey sugar jitters usually took me about 3 days to get through... and then the cravings were gone.

It's a magical thing; stinks going through it though!

Ok my week 2 weigh in.... 142 down 4lbs. Which is an awesome start since I went up to 148 on my second day...binge eating.errrrrr its a hard habit to break. But I got focuand, pulled out my clean eating book, and exercise dvd's; now I am seeing results!
I am still having sugar withdrawals because I used to eat a ton of processed sugar. I am eating fruit for natural sugar, does anyone know how long this lasts?

Candycake... you said you have trouble giving in to bad food choices. I've found the BEST thing to do is to give into them but limit how much you'll let yourself have.

I've been most successful when I'm not on a diet because I don't feel all deprived and go overboard on anything. I can have what I want, but I know I have to be smart about it....

Have found that mindset very helpful; hope it is for you!

Day one is starting off strong. I really like having a challenge. I even got a friend joining me in losing weight, and working out. My main problem is giving in on bad food choices. Any one have ant suggestions?

Ok so I wanna jump on this one! For the last year I have been doing noting but increasing my weight. My 1 year wedding anniversary is Dec 21 and as of right now I have put on 15 lbs since then, and I was already 10Lbs over my happy weight of 124. I have a little over 20lbs to lose to get back there and if I could do it in 10 weeks I would just be so happy.

Last year I started going back to college for my BA and I am taking my last final today so it will be nice to have almost 4 whole weeks to focus on weight loss. I tend to do better when I have goals and some place to be accountable to so hopefully this works for me.

I would also like to jump in on this thread…maybe if I am accountable to a group – I will be more motivated to actually make it happen.

I have worked really hard this week – trying the Jackie Warner plan: This Is Why You're Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever): Eat More, Cheat More, Lose More--and Keep the Weight Off. I am reading it on my iPad, and it is very informational – though it would probably be better if I actually owned the book, so I could flip back and highlight the pages that would be good to refer back to. I have between 20-30 pounds to lose to get to pre-pregnancy weight (dd born 4/2009) – can’t even think about baby #2 until I get this weight off – plus I would LOVE to get into my old skinny clothes.

Hello Spark Challengers!!! Took a week off for a terrible sinus infection, zpack failed at first, needed augmentin to clear it up. My face is so puffy from everything this week, I'm up 3lbs lol. It's okay, it'll all go away when I'm done with the antibiotics. It's a 10 day regimen so that will be Thursday morning for the last dose...ugh...Worked very hard to get better and didn't miss a day of work, only got sent home early once. It's only week 3 of my challenge so I'll be back on track in no time!

Down 1.2 pounds this week. I didn't do too well this week, but I guess I must have done something right. I love seeing my little fairy ticker out of the water and on to dry land.

I've lost 10% of my starting weight which is pretty exciting, and I'm more than halfway to my goal! Yipee!

Must have been losing too fast for my body's comfort level--put exercise back into the mix and went up some... No matter--I'm down to a size 4 blue jean and have lost more inches than I can count on my fingers! Great job Jen! I also just did my final weigh in for this challenge and I lost a total of just under 15 pounds. I guess my last week's weigh-in wasn't as dishonest as I originally thought. And I finally feel it in my clothes. Things are fitting me much loser.

I am also going to keep going, until until I hit my goal. I am also going to switch to a 10 pounds in 10 weeks challenge, though. Losing 2 pounds a week is getting much harder now that I have less to lose.

I only have 5 more pounds to qualify me to win my family's biggest loser challenge which ends on New Year's-although to be safe I am aiming to lose 8 by then. But my ideal weight is about 5 pounds less than that.

Want to give this another shot! So I will start out a new 10 weeks for myself. But I will only go til the end of the year to see how I can do. I hope I can lose some this time. I quit smoking over 2 weeks ago, so it has been really hard for me eating-wise. I gained back a few of the lbs I did lose, so it's like starting over :( But I will do it!

Another 10 weeks over and I did better than my first 10 week challenge!!! My challenge grand total is 15lbs over the past 20 weeks and that kicks butt! I got 9 off this time.

This week I WILL see the 60's again, I just know it! I am going to restart another challenge, I'll call it 20lbs in 10 weeks, but I am looking to beat my first 2 challenges (6lbs the first time, 9 the second).

I lost a bit this week, but I don't know how honest this weight that I registered is. I stepped on the scale a few times today, and once I got a number I liked I recorded it. Dishonest, I know . . . I feel guilty about it. But I am going to wear this weight for a day, and check again tomorrow to see if I need to change it or not.

I'm hoping that seeing this lower weight on my ticker will get me back to where I was a few weeks ago, motivated and moving. And I also rid the house of all the Halloween candy (and I didn't do it by eating all of it, or even most of it, although I did have a good portion of it).

Starting weight, Friday, August 20:161.6

Check ins

Friday, August 27: 161.2 (down .4 this week, I will take it. Chinese take out for dinner last night, didn't even think about calories. Next week's weigh in will be way better, because I will not allow one meal to derail my efforts. Also, I was down over 2 pounds more yesterday, this number really is just one meal, high sodium, high carbs, high fat meal at that!)
Friday, September 3: 158.2 (down 3 pounds from last week, 3.4 for the challenge. I really wanted another pound or even .6 to make up for last week, but 3 is really good. Hopefully I can get that extra .6 over the next few weeks to get myself back on pace to lose the 20.)

Friday, September 10:
Friday, September 17: 162.6 (Forgot to check in last week, been crazy busy getting the kids back to school. I am currently up 1 pound in 4 weeks, so totally off my pace. I am back to tracking my food now, going to try and join a boot camp if I can come up with the moula)
Halfway check in Goal: 151.6
Friday, September 24: 166.4(Brutal week. I'm sick, my family is sick, too many excuses, not enough healthy food.)
Friday, October 1: 165.8 (Down .6, which is aokayalright with me! Anything down is always better than up I say! My eating is getting better, thought today would be day 1 again of getting healthy and planning ahead, then hubby took me out for lunch and I threw it all out the window. This was my first full week of bootcamp, and next week will be week 2. Getting my eating in line will make those efforts at boot camp really pay off.)

Monday, October 11: 169.8 (Up 8.2 pounds for this challenge. Still fighting this chest cold, my eating went for crap last week, and I am just today recovering to eat better. I had no exercise at all last week, and went back to Bootcamp today with very little energy, but I did what I could. I reset my goals for my goal weight, check out my page for details.)
Monday, October 18:
Monday, October 25: 171 (up 1.2 in two weeks, 9.4 for this challenge. My chest cold developed into pneumonia, so I have been focusing on getting healthy.)
Monday, November 1: 171 I am still struggling with pneumonia, but I managed to maintain my weight from last week with no tracking at all.

Goal weight by the end of these 10 weeks: 141.6

I actually gained almost 10 pounds over the last 10 weeks. I need to reverse this trend, and I have seen the scale topping out and making it's way back down now after being so sick. I am going to start another ten week challenge to track my weight, with my first goal being to get healthy!

So my birthday was last weekend, and of course that meant Chinese Take-out and birthday cake... my FI made the cade and it was delicious! So I ate a slice for dessert almost every night. Oops! And of course, now it's Halloween and there's candy EVERYWHERE.. this week is going to be fun!!

Lost 1.4 pounds this week, but I cheated a little by weighing in on Saturday instead of Friday. I always weigh less on Saturdays for some reason. I only have 2 weeks left and 8 pounds to go so I don't think I will make it, but I will do my best these last couple of weeks.

I'm up 2 lbs this week :( I have quit smoking a few days ago, so I know this is the reason why. But to gain that much in just about 3 days is crazy! I need to find a way to get past these cravings! before it gets out of control!

I've been really out of it and frustrated by my lack of progress which is why I haven't posted in a while. I put the scale away for a couple of weeks, and guess what? My frustration decreased and while I'm not exactly on track, I have finally broken the 132 lb plateau. YAY!
9/9-140lbs (actual 134 lbs, -6 lbs)
9/16-138lbs (actual 133 lbs, -1 lbs)
9/23-136lbs (actual 132 lbs, -1 lbs)
9/30-134lbs (actual 132 lbs, 0 lbs) UGH!!!!!!!
10/7-132lbs (actual 132 lbs, 0 lbs again how frustrating!)
10/14-130lbs (no clue because I put the scale away)
10/21-128lbs (no clue because I put the scale away)
10/28-126lbs (on 10/27 actual 130lbs, -2 lbs, although 4 lbs heavier than where I wanted to be at this point I am celebrating having finally broken through my plateau!!!)

Welcome back to the Spark world Jen! Good to have you back. I always love doing this challenge, I enjoy facing my fellow sparkers when I weight in on Sunday's, keeps me accountable too.

Week 8 for me and I'm pretty stagnant. My heel is better now and I can work out again, had a great start this morning with a 4 mile spark buddy walk. I know I'll lose more this second challenge than I did my first (6 overall first round. I'll crank it up these next two weeks, really take notice of my eating and get to exercising. I've been taking big allowances with the eating that puts me behind for days. I'll make a plan for this week so I don't find myself hungry without the right snack at hand.

Getting back on track again!

Not much of a loss this week (0.4), but a loss is still a loss even if it is less than 1/2 a pound. I'm not surprised, I have been a bottomless pit this week and went over calories a few times. Just can't seem to feel satiated. I also have been really tired and skipped my third run this week (hopefully I will get to it this weekend) and a few walks because it is so dark in the morning now. Can't wait for daylight savings time to end.
