It is because when you hum, you are actually exhaling, so if both your mouth and your nose is closed, the air can't escape. ... So, although you can hum for a very brief few second or two, you will be forced to open your mouth and catch your breath.

When you sneeze, the particles ejected out of your nostrils are traveling at 100 miles per hour. This is faster than the maximum run speed of a cheetah which is roughly 70-75 miles per hour. And that one sneeze can travel from 19 to 26 feet.

These two facts should help everyone understand why wearing a mask in these Covid-19 times is so very important.

Normally, proper sneezing etiquette is to:
1. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
2. Throw used tissues in the trash.
3. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.



But, these are not normal times and extra precautions are needed hence the wearing of a mask will help protect you from the virus, and at the same time, wearing a mask will help protect others around you especially if you are sick.

A new study touts the benefits of honey for treating common coughs and colds. Experts at Oxford University found that honey was better at relieving coughs, sore throats and congestion, with no harmful side effects. On average -- honey was 36 per cent more effective at reducing cough frequency and cut cough severity by 44 per cent or more.

It also appeared to reduce the time it takes to recover from a cough or cold by up to two days. The study's authors hope using honey for upper respiratory tract infections could reduce the overprescription of antibiotics.

Although each of these substances have been linked to cold prevention in some studies, but the jury's still out on the best role for herbal and vitamin supplements. According to respected organizations (such as the National Institutes of Health and the National Lung Association), there is no conclusive evidence that supports the notion that taking large doses of vitamin C, zinc, or Echinacea will prevent colds. However, these nutrients may reduce the severity or duration of some symptoms. Always talk to your doctor before taking any supplements.

To accurately measure your resting heart rate: Count your pulse on your wrist (radial pulse) or on the side of your neck (carotid pulse)--prior to getting out of bed in the morning. In the past, people thought that because eggs are high in dietary cholesterol, they were not a heart-healthy protein option. We now understand that saturated and trans fats are more responsible for raising your cholesterol levels than dietary cholesterol, and an egg a day (which has a mere 1.5 grams saturated fat) is a healthy habit for most people. Even though most of the fat is found in the yolks, itís important to include them! Most of the vitamins and minerals, as well as 40% of the protein, call the yolk home.

Trans fat is the unhealthiest fat you can eat! It increases your total cholesterol and your LDL (bad) cholesterol while lowering your HDL (good) cholesterol. Saturated fat is unhealthy because it increases both your total blood cholesterol and your LDL (bad) cholesterol as well. Cholesterol should be limited to less than 300 mg daily. Polyunsaturated fats are somewhat healthy since they decrease your LDL (bad) cholesterol, but also decrease your HDL (good) cholesterol.

In the morning, your body has gone 8+ hours since eating or drinking anything. Your blood sugar levels are lower at this point, and your body doesn't have adequate fuel to workout optimally. Usually, experts recommend eating somethingóeven if it's just a small snackówithin 2 hours before working out. When your body doesnít have proper fuel in it, many problems can result, the lesser being that your workout performance suffers, and the greater being something like passing out during exercise. Some people say that it will burn fat stores, but overall, the number of calories your burn during a workout (regardless of where they come from) is much more important. Plus, fat burns in the carbohydrate flame. This means if you exercise without eating (such as after "fasting" during sleep) your body does not burn fat efficiently, or sometimes at all.

When it comes to cardio, aim for a minimum of 3 days per week with no more than 2 days between sessions. Gradually work your way up to 5 or 6 days per week. Frequency is especially important when it comes to weight loss. The more you exercise, the more calories you will burn. But don't forget the importance of rest and recovery. The "fat burning zone" business is very misleading. Itís true that low intensity exercise uses more fat as fuel and that moderate intensity exercise (that you can maintain for 20 minutes or more) burns both fat and glucose. But, you're better off exercising in the aerobic zone as much as you can, because exercising at this higher intensity burns more total calories. You will burn a larger percentage of fat in relation to glucose when you are working at a lower intensity, but you will also burn fewer total calories and less total fat. The relative percentage of fat burned has nothing to do with weight lossóit's the total amount calories burned that count
