I'm not the only one I see! lol I have family that need and want to lose weight and say we need to get together and walk but it's always ME going down to THEIR place. No one wants to come here. I don't mind, when someone can sit with my daughter (19 y.o. and disabled) but by the time I load her up and unload...I can't do anything for awhile...and then have to still load her back up. I also have one friend who will try telling me how to lose weight and eat healthy yet she don't do much other than sit at home all the time. WHEN I would bring it up in conversation she would "start" trying too but that lasted all but maybe a week. Then I have another friend who knows I'm trying to lose and she CONSTANTLY goes on about how she did not have to change her eating or exercise to lose...it is all because of her MS shots she was taking. She has always been competitive with me and she is always throwing in my face how she almost can't where size 8 anymore because they are so big. I finally told her one day, "Well, WHEN I do lose the weight it will be due to hard work!" She hasn't brought it up much more after that!

Becky

God is my strength!

NOTE: My weight loss ticker is done up for shorter goals and once reached will change goal weight again.

A lot of people don't seem to realize that even if everyone on Earth ate the same foods and did the same exercises, we would still have a wide variety of body shapes. Some people would still be fat. Some people would be underweight. There are thin people who eat terrible foods and fat people who eat healthy all the time. You just have to figure out what works for you and gets you somewhere your body can go.

I hear you!! Just remember that you will have the tools you need to keep the weight off, where the "experts" in your life will have quick weight loss, but have no idea how to keep the weight from finding its way back...and bringing friends with it!! One of my closest friends has been seeing a "diet doctor" who has cut all carbs and dairy (except for her cereal with milk in the AM) and prescribes diet pills. I can already tell that her mindset is completely different from mine. Where my mind is in a healthy place, hers is in the "I just need to get this weight off to be a bridesmaid and then I can eat carbs again". I have not put my two cents in because I know she is not looking for permanent weight loss. I am just doing me!! It is ALL ABOUT ME!! Your journey is all about you!!

I get a lot of people online claiming what I'm doing is "wrong". So many people think if you don't do it their way then it's the "wrong way". Honestly, I just ignore them because they don't know me, nor do they know what works for me. I think a lot of people just need to realize that everyone is different and everyone has their own way of doing things, doesn't mean it's wrong..too many people think they have the answers to everything.. emoticon

SUCCESSN2012 -- That's pretty shocking that anyone would judge you for doing things the way you are! It sounds like you're moving along at a healthy pace that you can maintain in the long run.

I think that's part of why I don't really talk about weight loss with people outside of SP. I don't want anyone's input!

LMAO Linda, my mother in law is the SAME way. She cant stand for me to be doing something good for me. And, she acts like an expert all the time. She's like "eat just an apple in the morning and a light dinner and workout for 2 hours a day" and all this. And I'm like "yeah, cause you know more about nutrition and fitness than I do.... OK!!!" She is probably the most unhealthy person I know. She fries everything, puts it over rice, and covers that all in gravy and drinks a 2 liter of soda a day. After dinner, cookies (every night). She doesn't eat breakfast, never exercises, and veggies are rare in her life. But... I am the one doing things wrong? LOL I dont need attention from men... I have been with my hubby for 14 years and have had plenty of offers since then... I am doing this for me. Its a shame that she doesn't see that... or doesn't care, just wants to be the queen of the world. LOL Whatever. Lame! This is just another way of saying "you have to do YOU and forget everyone else's opinion... they all have one, but doesn't mean we wanna see it! lol"

How about this one for support... My MIL said to me, " people only lose weight to find another man." I snorted in her face. But made no comment. She does not want me smaller than she is. She never encourages me, only shoots me down. I push onward to prove her wrong! And... weigh less than her!

Thanks ladies! You have no idea how much your support (and laughs) make me feel. I'm taking the day off from working out. I did my BL workout on Kinect last night and it kicked my ass. I soaked in my garden tub for like half an hour and then crashed for 12 hours! LOL I'm taking today off and going to get some house cleaning/organizing done. That's another issue I'm trying to work on but I'll make a seperate post.

It's amazing to me that so many folks, when someone they know loses weight, think they need to chime in about how/how much, etc. I've been pretty lucky, as most of my friends and family have been quietly supportive, and have not dared to offer unsolicited advice. That's a no-no in my book.

Keep doing what you're doing. The only opinions that count are those of you and your doc.

Happy Sparking!

well as you can see we are definately proud you so those that have negativity shake them off you obviously don't need any of thier input. i have family members like that and i just ignored them they don't know what i am capable of doing. like i have mentioned before peoples don't think fat peoples can change they expect us to be like that forever or something. i have made it in my mind to do this and i am not letting anyone change that. so hey success do just what you are doing you are my hero.lol

But I agree with XPHOENIX about your situation. Just take care of you.

oh lawd I know how that is lol. I have a couple of family members who like to give their 2 cents when it's not needed/wanted. The best way to react (for me) is to just say "ok" while just ignoring them lol. Eventually they'll take the hint. If it's not family or someone you even know then they don't even deserve half-assed attention and just give them the finger lol. Keep at it done girl! emoticon

There will always be haters. They feed off the way they make you react. They are always afraid that you will accomplish more than they will so they try to derail you. You already know you’ve got it together and your doctor knows you got it together. No worries.

Ugh, I have a friend who keeps giving me tips on how to modify things to be more like hers. I've been losing weight for over a year, she's been off and on for a few months. After awhile I just had to tell her to stop because I didn't like what she liked. So glad you told them on FB how it is and are standing up for yourself. Your progress is amazing!!

Yeah, well, I'll just hide in the tall grass and wait until you've not only lost the weight, but KEPT it off, for a year and more!! Then we'll know who was doing it right! Why do people have to be such a PITA when all you want is either support or silence? Gah. You go!

What people think of you is none of your business :) Forget them. YOU and your doctor (so important) know that you are doing what is best for you and your body. You are losing, eating balanced, exercising, feeling better..... where is the bad in that? Oh yeah... there IS none. Haters to the back of the bus, please!!! :) Seriously... people see you succeeding and get all jealousy and mad at themselves and take it out on you... forget them and keep doing your thing... I AM PROUD OF YOU! :) XO

I have been on this weight loss journey since Oct 23 of last year. I've been eating between 1200 - 1500 calories a day. I've been working out 30 - 60 minutes 5 to 7 times a week. I'm drinking 64 (or more) of water a day. I'm tracking every bite. I'm seeing my hard work paying off. I'm losing a pound a week.

I'M NOT

On a fad diet
starving myself
popping "magic" plls

I have several health conditions that require me to see my dr every two weeks. Like any normal person I have had conversations with my dr about losing weight and my health conditions. She tells me I'm okay as long as I don't over do it. She trusts me to know when to stop or cut back.

Most all of my friends and family are in my corner and rooting me on. I've averaged a 1 pound loss per week. Which I think is just KICK BUTT!

But I have those few who have no problem telling me what they think and that I'm going about it the wrong way.

If I could give someone the middle finger online I would!
