Making one of these sounds like a fantastic idea. What kind of things are you guys adding as your inspiration. A lot of people have said they feel cheesy making them and i think i would too if i were just putting up all kinds of pictures of what i wish i look like and don't. Any other suggestions for what kind of things to put?

I turned the covers of a planner I carry with me everywhere into a vision board. It's still a work in progress though.

Got the poster for it, put on a title and that's as far as I've gotten. My daughter, who is more artistic, by far is planning on doing one as well.Neither of us has gotten very far, but I do have an idea as to how I want it to turn out.

I'm working on my vision board/book this weekend. I can't wait to share my goals.

I as well am working on a motivational book. My sp sister and my best friend have decided to share our books once a week over a cup of tea/ coffee , once a month. emoticon it is a great way to reflect on all the good moments that we have had through this journey and to get some great tips along the way.

I am working on a vision board. Not done yet. I also read about someone using a paper plate as their visual motivator. I don't know if they put pictures on it or what but I thought that was a great idea so I took one and divided it like the Spark book talks about 1/4 for protein, 1/4 for good starches or whole grain, and 1/2 for veggies/salad/fruit.I have it stuck on my bulletin board near my desk.

I love the idea of the vision journal. I am going to do that too, hope you don't mind me copying that idea. I have just the book for it too!

In addition to the fitness model pics I started out with, I have begun to put before and after pics of SP members that have great success. Sometimes those models look unobtainable, but to see so many real Spark People members transform is VERY INSPIRING!!

I am keeping a diet/fitness/weight-loss journal. In it I track my diet, exercise, thoughts, etc.. Also are pages here and there of just little things I've glued in that I found in magazines or whatever--just stuff I found inspiring, motivational, or articles I found informative and didn't want to misplace.

I've thought about making one of those for a long time and I've sat down to make it several times, but I just don't know what to put on it! Hmph.

Yours looks fantastic, though! And good thinking about leaving space. I'll have to remember that for when I do actually make it.

I took over a blank wall to the left of my bed so it is the last thing I see before I sleep and the first thing I see in the morning.I used tons of stuff..pictures of clothes I want to wear, places I want to go and things I want to do. There is a tape measure and a few of my favorite momentos. Just added quotes too. I felt a little cheesy too but oh well..it really pushes me. Have have to pass it if I want a late night snack...stops me dead in my tracks everytime..lol.Also, I think by putting it out there for everyone to see it makes me even more accountable for every pound. emoticon

I have made vision boards in the past, especially specific goal-oriented ones like for career, home, etc. Now that I've moved house, I don't have really the space to have a vision board, so instead I have a vision journal. I got a nice faux leather bound blank notebook from Borders for around $4 on sale, and I cut out images from magazines or print personal photos and glue them inside. The great thing about it is that I can carry it with me if I need to. What I've been doing lately though is taking photos of specific pages and uploading them into my iPhone so I can see them wherever I am. There are a few Vision Board apps in the iTunes store for this purpose (and I confess, I do own one), but you can simply upload photos to your phone which is what I usually do anyway. It's portable inspiration and it's always at your fingertips. How great is that? emoticon

I bought a cheap cork board at Target, and then used my pretty scrapbooking papers to cover it. Then I pasted on various images and phrases that inspire me. I, too, felt a little silly at first but I love it! It's in my living room and I look at it often. My friends ask questions about it, and it gets us talking and encouraging one another about fitness. I say go for it!

I have a vision book. Lots of old magazines with a cheap journal = vision book! Lots of bodies I'd like to aspire to, with words that describe who I want to be daily. Items that make me laugh (polka dotted rainboots anybody?) and I flip through it and add to it whenever I can. It makes me :)

This is just something I started doing last year and I LOVE IT! I made a BIG one this year on a large piece of poster board. On the right side is my health and personal goals, on the left side is more of my professional goals...they kind of overlap in the middle! I am sure I posted a picture of it in my photos, if its not there I will post it now. I would love to make a digital one as well if someone could help me out with that!

Don't feel silly! Its great to cut out pics from magazines, take some me time and be a little crafty!

I made a digital vision collage, its the background on my sparkpage. It is always inspiring. I am thinking about creating a homemade one with magazine clippings for 2010. I really want to run a 5k this year and I think I will focus the board on that particularly goal, with female runners and a finish line.

Springit89 -- You read my mind! When I initially began work on my vision board, I realized I was cutting out images/words that worked for different goals in my life. One board became my "travel/adventure" board, one was my fitness/health board (see photo on my Spark page), and the third board I'm working on deals with my personal goals of writing more and possibly publishing one day!

Yikes, that's a lot of vision board making, but I am so pleased with how the health/fitness one turned out that I'm excited to see what these other two will look like.

Post pictures when you're done!

I am so excited that I am doing this, this is a guarantee to myself. Time for change, time for health, time for me. My plan is great, my attitude is there still after 8 weeks still hanging strong. I can see the end, I visualize it all the time. When I get there I visualize keeping myself there. It's like one big vacation, with trips in between, Ex. stepping on scale and see the weight loss, learning to ways of cooking and eating, learning to exercise the way I need to, buying new cloths, getting compliments, and enjoying the vacation on the way. Instead of dreams of passed, it is now in my grasp, and it's is my future.

Finally!

Sorry for the delay everyone, but I've finally uploaded a few scans from my vision/workout book.

Just to rundown, here's the details on it again: I took a 3-ring binder and lots of plastic protective sheets. Everytime I read a fitness or beauty magazine that contained a workout (you know the ones that have fab titles like, "Get A Stong, Sexier Back!" or "Bikini-Body Solutions" or "Get A $10,000 Shape Up For Free With These Moves!"), I ripped it out and stuck it in my binder. If there was an odd page (say the back of the last page of a three-page spread), I put a vision page there. As of right now, my book is 53 pages (front and back), with 7 of those being vision pages.

I'm really big on doing a few workouts at home instead of going to a gym, so it's easy for me to pop open this book when I have a few free minutes instead of just flipping channels or grazing in the fridge. Plus I have my inspiration, plus the means to get it right there in one book.

Pictures are posted in my gallery on my sparkpage. If you have any questions, just comment on one of them!

I LOVE my vision board. I had a lot of fun going through magazines and cutting out pics of people and shapes I admire...I also wrote and printed out key phrases of things I would like to achieve and WILL be able to achieve once I am at my goal.
I have it on my wall right in front of my treadmill so as I am sweating and swearing the pounds off I can look at it and remind myself why I am doing this. Its a great motivator.

Good luck with your board!
