How aabout doing goals and challenges, team goals could be about drinking water, exercising, and eatting right (like 5 fruits and vegies a day). Challenges could be more specific and about anything, drinking water, not drinking soda, specific exercises, motativition of any kind, eatting fruit at every meal, etc.

I am sorry that I have not been on the boards. I got a little down and needed to take time for myself. Also the landlord wanted me to rearrage the apartment and get the uncompleted projects done. I am not going to read all the back posts, just starting as if a new person on SPARKS.

Cardio goal:

60 mins. x 5 days per week (minimum) = 300 mins.
300 mins. x 4 weeks = 1200 mins. for the month

Would you be interested in starting another posting for calories burned and start a running total with a goal of reach 100,000 calories burned as a group? Something like:

Cardio goal:

30 mins. x 3 days per week (minimum) = 90 mins.
90 mins. x 4 weeks = 360 mins. for the month

Sounds like a good goal to me.

Let's gear up for next month and have people pledge to do cardio for however many minutes they think they can get in for the month of Feb 2009. Plus we could start a running tab of how many calories we burn as a whole on another posting?

What do you all think about getting one or more team goals. Something like:
Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
Eat 5 servings of fruit or vegetables a day.
Exercise for 30 every (name how many days) a week.

I used resistance bands for the first time this week, as a part of the workout I have been learning/doing with the Fluidity Bar workout. You wouldn't think that just a stretchy piece of material would do that much for you, but I was really impressed with how hard I had to work with them! I keep reading that the longer you stay away from sweets, the less you crave them. Would no sweets for a week be an acceptable challenge?

Alright...it is fall time and I think we should have a challenge as a group! Any ideas? I was thinking of trying out a different form of exercise you may not have already tried out, or didn't stay with too long.
I would be interested in trying out resistance bands. I read an article in Prevention about them, and I am interested to see what the results would have on me.

Great on getting out there walking, I was horrible and didn't get outside at all to walk. I did clean my out my car and I am currently looking for a new car. So I did walk some car dealerships over the weekend, but I don't think that counts since I was stopping every other car to check it out. Hopefully I will get out there this week.

I have been working out at the gym but I have not been able to get outside. My son and I are going to Wichita this weekend to visit my Mom and she has already promised to put us to work in the garden so that will be good exercise.

I was able to walk three times this week! I am totally excited, even though I have not seen too much weight loss, but my shorts are not as tight as they were.
