Yes, it is a sign of pregnancy, but it's also a side effect of some BCP's.
I think Yaz, Yazmin, BeYaz, or the other one they make says it on the packaging.
I had terrible insomnia the second and third trimester. That first trimester I would want to do nothing but sleep. Since I had no sleep my third trimester I would pass out in car rides, on the couch during mid-day and then not wake up till my husband got home (so I would literally nap for five hours).
Best of luck to you! I know how hard it is to TTC.

Wow, that sucks. Well being the optimistic one I am I will not dismiss pregnancy just yet but I will try and keep in mind it may take a few months for my body to normal out after comming off BCPs.
Thanks

For me, yes it was a pregnancy sign but unfortunately not that simple.

I went off the pill in May and had terrible insomnia for about three months. It was similar to yours, waking up in the middle of the night. My doctor said it was because my body was so used to being regulated by the pill that my hormones were all over the place without it.

In August, I started TTC. By that time my sleep was somewhat better. However, I had the same trouble sleeping during the week after ovulation. Whether it was hormonal or just excitement, I don't know. I wasn't temping, but was tracking other ovulation signs.

I got pregnant in November and my insomnia hit me hard. For the first 8 weeks or so I could barely sleep at night but was sooooooo tired during the day. I was really good at napping but terrible at sleeping for more than a couple hours at a time.

So basically my answer is yes, it was a pregnancy symptom for me, but it was also a symptom of getting off the pill and a symptom of the two week wait.

Hey everyone,
I went off BC the last part of Jan and this is my first month TTC child #3. Anyway, I have been charting my BBT every morning since jan 28, saw a rise in temp on day 15 which has stayed elevated until now. Anyway, my normal wake up time is 4:30 which is normaly really challenging for me to get up at but I have noticed that my body wants to wake up between 2:30 - 3am for the past 4 or 5 mornings and I toss and turn trying to fall back asleep. It's frustrating because I'm pretty sure my temps are not accurate when I wake at 3 and then try to fall back asleep and take my temp an hour and a half later.

This morning I just said Eff it and took my temp and got up at 3am. It's now 3:30 and I don't feel tired at all.

I'm wondering if this is an early pregnancy sign or if I am just so preoccupied with the temperature charting that I can't stay asleep. It of course would be great to get pregnant first try but I am use to it taking so long with the first two. 2 years with the first and 6 months with the second. This is the first time TTC at a healthy BMI though, so hopefully it will be a bit easier.

Anywhoo, what do you think about the sleep thing? Am I just making myself crazy?
