I bloat pretty easily from high sodium foods, and I haven't noticed any effects from the spirulina. I too can't or rather shouldn't do the SP max for sodium. I like salt too :(

I think the only issues I see with it for me personally, one the fishy smell/taste... can't abide that smell/taste whatsoever.

But more importantly the sodium content, now I realize it is naturally there, and that's awesome, but sodium and I don't always get along... if I even get close to the max level SP says I need, I swell up like a balloon and my hands and feet are stiff! YUCKY.. and it's not a lack of water and fluids.. I typically consume 2L straight water in a day, plus about the same if not more in other liquids (green teas and juice) Hydration is not the issue, but how my body reacts to salty foods.

Sigh... and I was kind of looking forward to maybe trying it..

I use it. It is for natural energy too. I get it from Nature's Sunshine Products.

my mother used it most of the time in her later years, in capsule form, to keep her regular. I don't know exactly what mail order company she ordered it from. But she swore by it.

i have used and have to start again using a product from a company called "greens today" from "the organic frog" check the differences in nutrients. the greens today original formula has the most stuff in it. i need something like peach juice to get it down. spirulina is good as long as it is standardized. some of them on the market are not. that means what you are taking can have zero value or twice the value claimed. back to the greens today i usually take the mens formula, not as strong and has added sweets so big babies like me can drink it down. my wife does the original with just water. but spirulina will need a strong juice also. just remember compare the labels and make sure it is "standardized"

Does anyone use Spirulina? I sort of use it - haven't in a while but need to start up again
If so, why? It has vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids
How do you use it? Powder form in smoothies
What's it taste like? Seaweed/fishy
And where do you buy it? I got my last jar at www.glaserorganicfarms.com/shop/
