Khol - I know I did a lot for Michael as he was the only one home for 15 years but he has turned into quite the responsible young man - as I am sure your daughter will.

Your Christmas cards sound so cute.

Janet - I love Cracker Barrel. I am sure she will be a wonderful hostess and I think she will like it much better than a cook.

Came home from work yesterday - just was not feeling well. I have been achy for about a month now so I finally got into the metabolic center on Tuesday and they ran tests. I was right - m y thyroid was off - it was over producing TSH so they are lowering my dose of Synthroid. And on top of that my sinus were acting up yesterday with a huge headache and pressure so came home and took a 2 hour nap.

I will admit I came home this morning from dropping Isaac off and fell asleep for two hours once again. The only plans I have for today is meal planning (shooting for a month), signing Christmas cards and picking up some groceries that I ordered online to avoid the crowded store.

Maegann had a job interview at 3:30 with Cracker Barrel and she will be working full-time as a Hostess. She was so happy! Actually has a homeschool friend that works there too so that was an on-the-spot personal reference. They are hoping to have her orientation and training begin next Thursday.

Isaac won’t be home until 7pm as they have practice from 3-5 and then a team dinner from 5-7. Tim spoke with the coach last night and they worked out a plan on how to proceed with Isaac’s special needs called “communication”. Follows him everywhere! LOL Coach said Isaac is an awesome shooter and has the height, but he can’t dribble without traveling. Nice knowing what major skill he must work on for next year.

Tim has been working himself ragged each day as he and Wendall are trying to get as much fencing done as they possibly can before the weather puts an end to things. Pretty much gone 13 hours/day and then just falls asleep.

Dorothy~That would be so me choosing the longer path to avoid bad weather. LOL

Kohl~That is a neat tradition incorporating something different each year into your designs. Please post a picture if you think of it! Sorry about the rough patch with D14 today. Been there....

Bible study was SO good this morning and then I picked up some groceries before coming home. Got my paid work caught up, emails done and now Sparking while supper is baking. Isaac has to be at practice in an hour and then Maegann and I will go to Walmart to buy baby clothes for our "Embrace Grace" gifts needed on Saturday morning. This ministry is through Lifeline Pregnancy Center and the girls go through classes and they end it with a combined baby shower. I always supported Lifeline with the kids' clothing give-away items so I love that I have a way to be involved with them once again. Maegann wants to go too....Michael is working so we can let him "check us out". LOL

Oh...Maegann has a job interview tomorrow afternoon at Cracker Barrel. She applied for the Cook position she found and the guy called her and asked if she would consider other tasks so she may get to be a host or wait staff instead. Host would be a great job for her to get broken into things. Sounds very promising.

Janet — What I like about our family doctor is that he is a Christian, doesn't rush you, isn't quick to diagnose and get it wrong, and prays with you each visit. I've been going to him since sometime in high school and my family since we moved back in town some twenty years ago.

Dorothy — I had to get back out there today and salt everything once more as my parents were going to come for a visit. I thought I could just broom away the snow (can't find where he stores the shovel and it's not where he thought it would be) but no there was a nice icy coat on the surface underneath.

Had a good homeschooling day except for an outburst of anger...from me. D14 is mostly silent but boy does she whine and contort her body when she's frustrated. She gets upset when I ask her what's wrong and says things like stop or Mom out of irritation with me. Just wish she would say what's wrong. Venting some more...If I even hum she is irritated but I'm not allowed to voice my irritation for her strange behaviors. Egad she's now acting like a teen. What really caused me to let loose though was her expecting me to get out the books for her next subject and put away the one she just finished while I was in the midst of grading her algebra. I kind of yelled what I expected out of her and then I thought what a rotten teacher I was being. I apologized for raising my voice and told her it was wrong for me to have done it. I also let her know that everything I said was true and that my expectations weren't unrealistic. She is in ninth grade and needs to take a few steps toward independence this year. I think I've done her a disservice as up until this year she was quite, polite, and no trouble. I didn't realize I was still doing so much for her. This has not been an issue with any of my other children and if I really think about it is an easy fix now that I see it for what it is. May we both grow from the experience.

My husband has the tradition of unpacking Christmas items slowly after December 1st. The girls decided that since he's not here we could do it early... and so we are listening to Christmas music, sipping tea/cocoa, and making Christmas cards. This year we've decided to incorporate buttons into our designs. Every year we try something new.

Khol - as soon as you get adjusted to sleeping alone he will be home - lol!

Glad that the Dr is working with your daughter.

Not much snow so far but sure is icy out there. Most of the storm seems to be hitting west and north of us.

Yesterday I was able to get an appointment at the metabolic center in Erie - I was looking at radar and decided to take the back roads - wrong way - it was not a fun ride so I came back the highway and much better. Just have to adjust for this winter driving. Not liking it one bit.

It was icy this morning - let the good times roll emoticon

Dorothy — Just a bit of the fluffy stuff fell here for the past few days but the temperature changes to just above to just below freezing over and over. That causes an ice problem on our brick stairs/walkway. I had to salt several times. Hope the storm is mild for your sake.

Janet — Glad someone is sleeping! My eyes are tired but when I try to sleep I just toss and turn without my mate close by. I'll never get used to this!

Today D20 went to the doctor for a second appointment. I think the doctor is getting a bigger picture with each visit. No change in medicine at this point. He said to anticipate a monthly visit. She is to keep a brief daily journal of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors/experiences.

Sorry to hear about the continuing leg issues. I can understand not wanting to be admitted, but with the storms right now...might make me think twice!

We are getting rain, but that means snow in the mountains!

I slept better and had a very quiet day. Yeah!

Hubby is still having problems with his leg and went back to the clinic yesterday - they gave him another shot in the butt. They would like to put him in the hospital or he can come in for dally shots. He opted for daily shots - I told him he should get admitted - sigh! This has been going on way too long!

We are under a storm warning - suppose to get several inches - we will see how this unfolds.

Janet - I hope you slept well last night and have another quiet day.

Dorothy~Hooray for a fixed dryer and outside decorations being finished!

Today was quiet. I even got a 2 hour nap. Oops! Will either work in my favor or it won't come bedtime!

Tomorrow I should have an even quieter day if that's possible.

I think that is a wonderful idea - a person can use only so much stuff.

Khol - sounds like you have everything under control And hubby will be home before you know it.

Got my outside decorations done yesterday. Hubby fixed my dryer working - yea! Today I need to clean the rental and may do a little bit of shopping!

Dorothy — Dessert leftovers here, too. We did a lot of visiting and now my daughters and I are left with two whole pies! I've decided I'll eat the pumpkin pie without the crust.

Janet — We are doing a sock/clothing Christmas from mama and papa bear. The older three plan on buying a little something for everyone. The younger two will help me buy a little something to fill the stockings.

I'm a little sad this evening as my son and husband left this morning. My husband will be back in a week or two and my son in four. So back to one car here for now and having to be the chauffeur every day. I am delegating out his jobs to the girls. Today they stacked the wood inside the garage that he cut yesterday and made more buckets of kindling. He took out trash this morning but tomorrow someone needs to take over that job. Tomorrow evening it will be much colder so someone also needs to take on the job of putting the cats in the detached garage before bed.

Dorothy~Glad you almost got the inside finished. Maegann got the last of the outside lights done today. We won't have sun much this week.

Today was church and football mostly. Got the kids to bed early as Isaac is back to 6:30am and Maegann is planning to continue getting to bed earlier just to stay in the habit although she can sleep until 8 if needed. She is so much happier knowing she does not have to go back to classes. Now I just pray for the right job to come her way soon.

Got all my Christmas shopping finished as we are just doing stockings this year. Decided we would find a way to help others who really need it instead of just buying more "stuff" we don't really need.

My huge "happy" tonight is the Christmas letter is finished and edited! Tomorrow I can begin working on the next phase....printing and cards.

Dorothy~I am glad you had such a fun Thanksgiving! You should share a picture of the garland!

My day was spent on helping Maegann with exterior Christmas decorating. She still has the roof line on the front to finish and she wants to do some things on the back deck too. I am glad it is pretty well done. Always so pretty inside and out for December.

Thanksgiving was wonderful - - we had turkey and stuffing, sweet potato casserole and corn pudding, creamed corn and mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberries and rolls. Desert was pie, a pumpkin truffle, pumpkin pudding, brownies, a pudding delight and chocolate covered almonds - quite a feast and like you not a lot of left overs. Well lots of dessert left over - hahaha.

Wednesday night my renters called to tell me they had a visitor - a bat - omg - I am terrified of them, luckily they were able to get it out.

Thursday morning I thought I would be getting back on to chat but got busy cooking and then it was time to go pick up my mom.

Yesterday as I was getting ready to chat I remembered I had to go get donuts for work.

So busy couple of days. Today I am going to get out the rest of my decorations - I just love my garland.

Janet - sounds like you have all of your ducks in a row for Maegan - I hope she finds a job.

Dorothy~Glad the storm did not materialize for travel purposes at least! They are saying we may have rain/light snow Thursday night/Friday, but mostly it will be in the mountain areas.

I never did get back to Spark yesterday as we stayed up until 11 playing “Pandemic” and then we were all just exhausted and headed to bed. Earlier in the day I spent time making appointments, trying to track down a missing bank deposit, laundry and other odds and ends. I was able to get in touch with both the high school advisor and attorney at HSLDA (home school legal) to make sure I did everything correctly for Maegann’s withdrawal on Monday. They gave me the link for the Idaho letter and said that is all we are required to do (our state has very simple laws for homeschooling), but they encouraged me to get copies of all grade transcripts before they show withdrawn and also gave me a link to the three-tiered credit needs based on the next goal (job, college…). She has more than enough for the first two tiers! We plan to have her take the GED even though it isn’t necessary and then we will give her a diploma. She is determined she wants the GED so we will let her do the work for that certification.

Isaac has been an absolute pill since Saturday afternoon. Still won’t voice the “why” either. He has been better today so maybe talking with him about it again this morning helped.

Tim’s been busy on the house. Getting the rest of the siding and eaves finished on the addition while the weather allows.

Maegann spent her afternoon physically going into the stores she has applied to online and asking about them and she actually spoke with the hiring manager at Penneys and The Children’s Place. Of course with Black Friday nothing will happen until next week. She also went to the Electrical & Plumbing store to pick out ceiling fans for the addition so Wendell can pick them up as payment for some of Tim’s fencing work.

Me…just procrastinating on this Christmas letter very well. LOL

Tomorrow we do have a couple people coming over for Thanksgiving dinner so that will be nice offering a place they can be as family is not nearby. Tim has done some work for this couple over the summer and sort of takes care of their place when they are traveling.

Janet - gotta love the old drafty houses. I actually sleep with my windows opened a crack all year around so my door is always closed as it is cold in there. but I sure do sleep well.

We are under a weather advisory today as a squall is suppose to move through early afternoon and drop snow and it may turn icy - yea!

Dorothy~Our "master suite" is a drafty place. We have removed both windows, put insulation, plywood and plastic on them. The two doors (one to the garage and the other to the addition) are drafty. Thankful for electric blankets and portable heaters!

Kohl~Maegann really doesn't need the GED, but she has it in her mind that she wants to do it. I figured out today that she has plenty of credits for a diploma from homeschool, but we want her to finish Algebra 2. At some point she may go that route, but for now, she wants the GED and a job. I do plan to do the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace for young adults with her regardless. Enjoy the time with your son!

Worship was so good today and this afternoon was football and figuring out Maegann's credits. Tonight we played "Escape Room" and after two hours we still hadn't figured out the third and final code. It was fun.

Tomorrow we can sleep in a bit. Isaac has time with Patrick beginning at 10 and then he has a doctor appointment at 3:45 for med follow-up. In the evening we are going to the monthly Faith & (topic) event. This month the topic is worship to prepare for the holiday season.

Dorothy — I can't even imagine you sitting on a couch. You are always moving!

Janet — GED? Why would that be necessary? I think Meagann is going to thrive at home!

Today is the only full day left to finish tidying up before my son arrives. Tomorrow my husband is making the round trip to bring him home. I may be able to clean in the morning but I will also need to start preparing a party for D19's birthday which is on Tuesday. She has a morning class on Tuesday and then she will come home from college to enjoy her birthday and Thanksgiving at home. Wednesday I will be baking. So as much as I don't want to I'm off to make this place sparkle.

Janet - that must have been a touch decision to make but I am sure you are doing the right thing. She is a very smart girl - but sensitive. Smart though setting down ground rules with the boyfriend. I think in many ways she is just to mature to be in that kind of atmosphere all day long - so moving on and getting a job will probably help her immensely. Just so much drama in schools.

When I first started painting I was thinking this is so soothing - by the time I finished up I was getting grumpy - but I do not like painting doors with lots of windows - and I will need ti go back and touch up today. I have a few more spots int he house I want to touch up as well.

Today I need to go clean the rental - I have just been dragging this time and I need to put some plastic over a door that does not get used as it is so drafty. If I finish up early I may become a couch potato hahaha

Dorothy~I always want to get the snow cleared so it can melt off easier instead of having ice under another layer. Sounds like you are getting some nice cleaning projects done.

Not sure if things will ever calm down! One thing that is happening though is that Maegann is not returning to public school. She will finish classwork at home for a diploma and then can take the GED if she chooses. She will be free to get a job and earn money towards a vehicle. There was a huge blow-up again with Michael last night, but they worked it out. This time Maegann had some stipulations to be met or "we are done." I was proud of her for putting herself first for a change!

It is game night here and I sure wish I could get rid of this sinus headache. Probably tension.

Janet - I am pretty sure you are mentally as well as physically tired with all that is going on with Maegann - hopefully everything calms down soon.

We got a wet snow mix Thursday into Friday so I had to shovel Thursday after work and Friday before work. So many different muscles you use than is the summer activities. Plus walking in it is such a work out - I was amazed how many people did not bother to clean up yesterday- this morning. Yesterday I took the afternoon off - I was either going to paint or clean the kitchen and cleaning the kitchen won - my window has been driving me nuts - it was full of spider webs and dead bugs - now it is sparking clean as are all of my goodies on top of my cupboards. Today I paint.

We haven't needed an electric fence for many years! Won't take much to get Auggie unhappy.

My day didn't produce much. Woke up tired and stayed that way and Maegann was home as well with pretty much full memory loss. She's got the bulk back tonight but we'll see what morning brings. One more day of school before Thanksgiving break.

Bad puppy - lol - my daughter used an electric fence and they work really well.

Glad you enjoyed your massage.

The Tibetan meditation uses a lot of the chi hand movements - it was very nice. But hard to remember all of the moves.

Tonight I have an appointment after work - weather permitting - we arr suppose to get lots of rain, snow, and ice.

Dorothy — Great idea for those winter items! I saw that our city did that near the warming centers last year. The lines were full...and then they weren't.

Janet — Disappointment is never easy but 1:1 coaching sounds great!

Went to a homeschool brunch today with my two girls. They had a blast with their friends. I laughed quite a bit with my friends. So nice to get away and be refreshed. Even so I did need time alone afterward.

Dorothy~I will have to look up that class type just to know what you're up to now! LOL

Well, better news on the basketball front tonight. (Last night it was "Didn't make the team, but I am supposed to be the Team Manager." and this was accompanied with a lot of tears.)
At practice today the coach spoke with him about what his plans are for Isaac. Yes, he will help with the equipment, but he will also participate in some of the drills with the team and the coach will offer some 1:1 coaching time with Isaac when a drill is not requiring his attention. I think this will actually be a better learning environment than the stress of learning all the plays, etc.

I had a good day. Massage this morning (very painful) and then I had some paid work that needed attention so I put a cute Hallmark movie on and did the work. Next up was an hour nap before finishing up the Bible study lesson for tomorrow morning. Now we are all just hanging out until time to head to the University's performance center to listen to the County Honor Choir. I know there is either orchestra or band as well...could be both. Planning to record the singing for Maegann so she can hear the pieces outside of the soprano section.

Oh...you know that dog that didn't run off yesterday? He went a long way from home today. Just lucky he was found and a sweet high school boy helped me drive the area looking for him. He had seen him a block away before stopping at the house. Finally saw him with a couple older men about 2 1/2 blocks away. Next plan....electric fence so that he will not like fences so much!

Khol - that is too funny - my hubby does the same thing and it makes me crazy. I can work all day on a project but he always thinks he needs to put on the furnishing touches.

Nice that your daughter can drive herself now - tough to only have one car though.

Janet - glad that Auggie did not run off. Too cute that he keeps looking for Maegann.

Hope Isaac's foot feels better and that he makes a team.

Was tired yesterday - should have started cleaning the rental but I did not. I did stop at the church and hung up a tote full of scarfs, hats, and gloves that we no longer use on there clothes line outside. Anyone that needs them can than help themselves to them. Tonight is a Tibetan Meditation class - I am super excited to take it. Tomorrow I should be able to clean as I have an appointment after work on Thursday.

Kohl~I hope you begin feeling better! Too funny about your hubby and the cleaning.

I am home alone! I have cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, load 3 of laundry in the washer, ordered groceries (they should be ready about 1) and watched a cute Christmas movie while Sparking and doing a tiny amount of paid work. AMAZING how much I can get done in the quiet! I still need to empty the ashes from the fireplace and do my bible study.

The dogs are doing much better around each other now and Auggie did escape the back yard again this morning, but this time he came right up to the front door instead of running off. Whew! Now he is sleeping on the floor next to me. Glad he hasn't been pacing around and whimpering for Maegann, but I know he keeps going to her room once in awhile to see if she is there.

So far I have not heard from Maegann so she must be doing okay at the Honor Choir practice. Thankful! Isaac appears to have strained his "power" foot from working on jumping high at basketball practice. We found pressure points last night and put Deep Blue on it. Told him to ask the coach for any tips on healing it up. Sure hope he makes a team!

Dorothy — Love that you got your tree emoticon up!I was sorting all day, first shoes then just about anything clothing wise. Need to make room for my son who will be here in a little over a week. We all emptied our drawers of shorts and sleeveless shirts awhile ago and put it on the bed he will be sleeping on. Glad he's coming or I wouldn't have any motivation.

Janet — The four of us did church at home today since D22 had to manage the box office for a show and needed the car. I forgot to say that she got her driver's license this past week. emoticon I'll still have to drive her from time to time since we only have one car.

I'm been feeling sick to my stomach most of the day but still managed to get quite a bit done inside with breaks. When I start cleaning my husband gets motivated, too. He drives me crazy because it's my project and though I love the help it's my project. He cannot help himself and takes over. I almost lose my motivation over this but have to tell myself most woman would die for this.

Dorothy~Your Christmas tree? emoticon I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! Sorry the errands were a long outing, and hope Michael feels better soon.

Kohl~Hope you are having a quieter day.

I am enjoying football and Sparking this afternoon. Worship was great this morning -- so thankful God led us to this church family. Hadn't realized how much teaching and preparing for the coming week was lost before.

Janet - I hope he makes it as well. Bills - such a necessary evil emoticon

Khol - your day sounds like mine.

Took Michael to the clinic yesterday - he has sinus issues going on. It was weird sitting there watching him fill out all of his paperwork.

Our errands ran into 3 hours - ugh - had to wait in the clinic for an hour and a half, lots of people with colds, Lowes was crazy and then had to wait for his prescription. I dropped him off and ran down to chat with my mom - I was so glad to get back home.

And I did get my tree up. Actually I did it so I could empty the closet i had it in so I could get all of the cabin stuff put in there.

Dorothy — Hope you have some fun with Michael...and your hair!

Janet — You certainly needed a quiet day!

I've had an out and about kind of day: theatre, grocery store, and library. The library visit ended up taking much longer than I originally thought. The teen section had an open house type of program making murals with post it notes. D14 made a red dragon and D11 made an orange tabby cat. Happy to be home now where it's cozy and warm.

Dorothy~Nice you had inside work to accomplish with the weather advisory. Here we go….

I’ve kept my day very quiet. Chose to get the bills and finances caught up as I hadn’t for a couple of weeks and some bills were due. Then I chose email and Sparking. Just taking my time and enjoying myself.

Maegann is definitely better today and Isaac came home tired and sore from basketball tryouts. He goes again Monday night and they are to find out what team they are on…if they made one. I am just praying he makes a team or our house will be miserable for days on end!

Glad Maegann was able to chase down Augie - little stinker.

Got my hair cut - loved it when I left - lets see if I can get it to do the same thing today - hahaha!

I totally missed that word (house vs cabin)!

The dogs were both feeling better and Auggie was actually quite energetic. He found a couple of spots in our fencing to get through so Maegann had to chase him down. Thankfully she was able to catch up with him and he respected her authority. Next fun came when the school phoned. Isaac was back to invading personal space with the same girl again so he this time he ended up on in-school suspension for the day. If it had been tomorrow he would miss the first day of basketball practice/tryouts. That hit him hard, but I still am not convinced that he acknowledges his responsibility in all of this. Until his IEP is in place there isn't a lot I can do to help. They are pushing his evaluation through and thought they would have it done in 1-2 weeks.

It was the rental house not the cabin that I needed to clean - I shudder at what the cabin looks like with hubby staying there.

Hope the pups and Maegann are all on the mend soon.

Hope you didn't find too much of a "mess" at the cabin Dorothy.

The last few days have finally caught up with me and I'm just tired. I took it very easy today, but still caring for two somewhat ill pups and Maegann. I did get one client plan written and finished the November budget reviews and took Ellsworth to the vet to get him some meds for his start to the kennel cough. I am supposed to take him in tomorrow to get his nails done, but am thinking I shouldn't as this is so contagious to other animals.

Tonight I am catching up on The Voice episodes and then we will watch Survivor once kiddos are tucked in bed. Pretty calm evening.

Janet - those antibiotics sure cna play on a number on your system - hope she is feeling better soon, Does she drink keifer or kambucha??

Nice of her to put a move on for you - hahahah

Hubby was here after work again = he came into town to vote. Took another load of stuff up to the cabin - it must be just about bursting in the seams. emoticon

Got renters coming this weekend at the house so I will go over tonight and tidy up a bit.

Kohl~I headed over to vote on my way back from morning errands. Polls had only been open about an hour and there were already about 150 checked off as done. That's a lot for a mid-term.

Dorothy~Hope you had a good day!

Maegann did go to the Honor Choir practice, but she shouldn't have as she was sick the entire time and I think it took too much out of her. She was confirmed last night as having C-Diff which is a bacterial infection in the intestines. Hers has to be from all the antibiotics she has consumed in the past several months from two different infections that wouldn't clear up. Finally got the needed meds this afternoon so hopefully she will begin feeling better soon. The doctor did send a medical release to the school for me for Monday-Wednesdayso I and I know she will need to be here another day. She is miserable and can't stay too far from the bathroom.

Now, what do I do about bible study in the morning? I may just go anyway, but will need to see how she's doing when I get her up to take the next med.

With all the errands I had to do after dropping Isaac off at school and the extra ones because of Maegann's needs, I barely got to the client budget reviews that had to be done. I'm exhausted. Maegann put on a new Christmas movie on Netflix and then deserted me. I'm enjoying it.

Auggie is still being a stinker about taking meds. And today Tim crushed them into his food and he isn't eating. (rolling my eyes) He seems more chipper today though.

Vet bills are about the only reason I can think of for not getting a dog. That and my husband throwing a fit that would never end!!!

I voted today! Other than that I did my usual Tuesday things: homeschooling and theatre. Hoping to get outside tomorrow to rake. It was too blustery to do so today.

Khol - that is so sweet that the girls like to talk with you - makes you happy. I tend to want to give advice as well when people vent and they do get annoyed sometimes - now it makes more sense to me - thanks.

Janet - vet bill are ridiculous but vet school is too so I guess it all makes sense. Hope Maegann if feeling better and can go to choir.

Hubby was here when I got home - doing laundry and taking some stuff back to the cabin - he also got rid of the nasty old rug for me - emoticon

Dorothy~I remember saying that phrase -- Go to work to rest! I hope your aches and pains ease soon.

Kohl~That's nice to hear the girls are talking with you more. I'll be praying for that doggie treatment plan for you D19!

Ended up taking Auggie to the vet (found a different one that is way cheaper) as he threw up this morning and still had the cough. Symptoms of kennel cough for sure and that's a very common thing coming from the humane society. He is eating today and is sleeping well so with the addition of some meds he should bounce back easily. Nice hearing the vet say "You got a good one."

My day alone did not happen after all as Maegann was home. She's been suffering with not being able to eat anything without it coming right through so took her to Quick Care last night. They are doing some lab work and today I'm helping her eat only things that will be kind on her system and help with the overall problem. She is wanting to go to Honor Choir tonight though and will encourage that.

Otherwise, 3 loads of laundry, cleaned up the kitchen and bought a few groceries.

Dorothy — emoticon you are sore! Yesterday I walked down a steep hill and back up. My legs are telling me I need to do more on a regular basis. Ouch!

Janet — Love that you could just go with your gut feeling and get that dog! D19 has wanted a dog most of her life and my husband says it's not happening. I was hoping the doctor would suggest it. Think I might even start praying for that as a prescription/treatment for her.

D22 is talking to me more now than she did when she first came home from college to stay. Feels good to gain ground in that area. Actually been noticing that all three of my older children talk more lately. I think they like to vent and have someone listen. They are a lot like me and aren't really looking for a solution. My husband tends to want to solve the problem and give advice. Both outlooks can be good but not in all instances. I tend to give advice if it is sought.

Yesterday I was on my hands and knees get all of the staples and nails out of the floor and scrubbing it. My knees, elbow and hands sure do hurt today. Glad I am going to work so I can rest - emoticon Now we need to decide if we are putting down a floating floor, vinyl or if I should just paint it. My dining room is the man cave! I don't like that it is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door but it does keep his stuff from spilling into the kitchen. The kitchen is for homeschooling and eating. I have to put my foot emoticon down!

Today the six of us took a fall drive and enjoyed going to a favorite lookout. We marched down the grassy hill and trekked back up. The fall colors are fading as the maples have dropped their leaves. Still more beautiful than bare trees.

We dropped D19 off at college for a concert. Once home we watched Disney's Cinderella (2015).

Tonight I talked with my son via FaceTime. He has less than two weeks before his prelim before entering the PhD portion of his research. He was venting.

Wow! Ripped up carpeting too! I like your idea to make it the man cave.

Thankful for a much calmer day after yesterday. Sparking & Football with sleeping dogs nearby and kids doing homework. Auggie got a bath today and is happy underneath a warm blanket with heat from the fire. Ellsworth finally went to sleep after I loved on him and let him sniff around Auggie's pillow. They are doing fine together and I know it will become normal in a few days time.

Yesterday I got so much done - stated out cleaning off my counter tops and ended up rearranging about 5 cupboards. Then I emptied out the entry way room - I had 3 bookcases packed with books in there - they were so dusty. After I got the room emptied I tore up the nasty carpet - so glad to have it gone - I have to finish taking out the staples on the floor - I am thinking of making it into hubbys man cave so I can get my living room back. And the nice thing is I have to front doors so I can block off the one and use the other one.So right now my house has stuff every where - emoticon but I have a box full of stuff to get rid of - I was going to drop it off yesterday but did not get around to doing it so I will just keep adding to it and get it dropped off this week sometime.

Today I would also like to get out and do some yard work as the rain has caused most of the leaves to fall - it looks like a yellow carpet out there.

Khol - hope you were able to get what you wanted done - how nice for your daughter - I bet it boosted her ego.

Lanet - what a wonderful idea to get Maegann a therapy dog. He is so cute.

Kohl~I have been on anxiety meds for several years now and thankful. I am glad that your daughter is handling them well. That's great news from the music history teacher on a tough test. Praying for your husband's job situation.

Dorothy~I need to swap out the more Halloween-type decorations with Thanksgiving ones. Maybe Monday.

I've had a crazy few days with the kids out of school, parent/teacher conferences, and more. Today went off on its own way after family counselor and we now have what I am calling Maegann's therapy dog.

Didn't want another dog, but when God leads you it is best to listen. Maegann's anxiety has lessened and Auggie has bonded with her quickly. He likes me too, but I can tell there is a difference and I'm glad.

So far Ellsworth is doing fine with him, but will be glad when they get over the stage of being so curious about each other and they just co-exist.

Looking forward to worship tomorrow and some football in the afternoon!

The rain stopped but it was a dreary day. Only accomplished homeschooling today. Tonight is grocery shopping once I get a list in order and pick up D19 from college after the musical she is going to for concert attendance.

Tomorrow I plan to drop off the two younger girls at theatre at 11:00a.m. and pick them up at 3:00. Hoping to come home and work outside if it doesn't rain. If it does I'll focus my energy on the kitchen and dining room for the duration. Either way I have a couple of hours to put a dent in the work that's piling up around here.

D19 had good news to report. She was pulled aside by the music history professor today to be told she got the highest grade on the test this round. She had such trouble studying for it.

Khol - we are having the same weather - I had gotten the leaves mulched once but more have come down - hoping i get a chance to get more mulched/picked up.

Can I send my mending your way emoticon

I went on anxiety meds about 6 years ago and they sure have helped.

Janet - I was just thinking I had to go into the attic to look for a few things and that I would bring down the Christmas stuff - probably won't get put out right away but it will be there.

It looks like we will have a couple of warm days next week - now if it just does not rain I will be able to get the yard work finished up.

I mended a jacket, a pair of shorts, and a pair of pants while homeschooling today. The girls threw two holey stuffed animals on the pile. I sewed one shut and then decided that one of them needed to do the other. I had D11 try on shorts that she thought were getting tight to decide if they should go in the give/sell bag.

D19 seems to be doing okay with her new meds so far. Slight heartburn yesterday and bad headache today. Both of those things could be side effects but they also sound like her usual troubles.

It has been raining here nonstop for two days and nights. Happy November?

My yard is so needing attention! It won't stop raining long enough to do the last tidy up before the leaves fall emoticon emoticon .

Yesterday I took D19 to our family doctor to discuss emotional issues that linger on and on and never clear up. She had me go in with her which is nice so I could hear all that was asked and said. I commented little but am glad I sat in. She is starting a medication that may help. Here we go!

My husband thinks he is losing his main freelance client at year end. Today he gained a client but not sure how much work the company will need. We are hoping for a contract. He will also be going to an interview for a full-time job at a local company as soon as a time is worked out. It seems God always provides when the going gets tough.

Hope you all had a great pumpkin emoticon day!

Hoping the rest of our leaves fall before the next full raking event. Now to find a day that isn't super cold to start getting the outside Christmas lights in place. Last night Maegann was saying "no" to putting them up, but I can do a Plan B easily without the roof line.

It's just cold today. Ready to start a fire, but first I need to run one errand.

I took a couple of hours off yesterday and got pretty much all the rest of the stuff put away and mulched up the back yard leaves - there are still so many more to come down.

That reminds me that I need to go pick up a prescription for Tim.

The supper experiment was a keeper! Isaac could have eaten the entire 9" pie but I made him save some for breakfast today. LOL Another experiment tonight...a teriyaki chicken recipe.

This morning just enjoying the quiet house. Got the paid work finished that I had to let go yesterday due to the internet being off and I'm enjoying some Hallmark Christmas movies. Loved "Battle of the Bulbs". So funny!

Crazy how it is so hard to work these days with out the internet. Glad they were able to get it fixed,..

You are so lucky Tim was able to fix the water heater - we had to put a new one in a couple of years ago - came home to a flooded basement.

Sending prayers for Maegann that she can figure this all out.

Nice that Tim is able to help Issac with his homework.

I ran around with the hubs last night trying to get his prescriptions filled - only took 2 hours - so frustrating.

I agree Dorothy...it eventually gets done!

Had another day with a trip to the counselor for Maegann as she got called out of her final class of the day as the teacher saw cutting marks (she had done very light ones last night before bed from what I was told). Glad we could get her original counselor, Shane, as he really takes a hard line with her to push her to clarity. I sure hope she can pull herself through this stuff soon. With all the good that she has going on in her life right now...why stay in the negative of the past. I know...easier said than done.

She did go to the Honor's Choir event tonight and took Lizzie and Devin. I believe it was open to all the high school's "elite" choir members for a fee. She was struggling with the usual thing.... can't read music like the others and it frustrates her. I told her to breathe, pray and go talk with her teacher. Haven't heard much since!

Isaac is doing math homework with Tim as it is a review paper that is due tomorrow before the test on Wednesday.

Our house fun for the day....the water heater was leaking and the humidity ruined the thermostat so we were not getting heat most of the day and it was colder today. I did finally start a fire and waited for my repairman to get home. He found the leak (just needed to tighten a fitting, but why when it's been fine since we moved here) and then went to Home Depot to get a new thermostat. Sure could have been worse. Another plus is that moving the water heater from this closet in the center of the existing house is in the plans so that it is in the garage where it belongs. Someday....

I also had an afternoon off from paid work as the internet went down so I did other things such as phone calls to reschedule appointments, etc. I finally ended up calling in as it was still off after I got home from the counseling session. They had to reset it on their end and then it was all good.

Kohl~Great job on the lesson plans! That is a nice perk of working at the theater!

Dorothy~Wow! You got a lot done! I need to go through clothes and get rid of items too. Same reason...haven't worn them and/or won't.

Worship was so good today and now I'm just enjoying the quiet of the living room to watch football and Spark.

We are getting a cold snap coming through and it does appear to be heading in tonight. Need a fire to warm up, but trying not to until others are here to enjoy it with me. For now...a throw blanket works!

I worked on my closet yesterday and got it organized and cleaned out some of my drawers - got 2 bags of clothes to get rid of plus I have section in my closet of stuff I am not sure of - so if I do not wear it by the end of this season I will get rid of it. Also cleaned out hats and gloves and scarfs - going to take a pile up to the church and hang them on there close line out front - they are for anyone too help themselves to if they need them. Plus got 3 drawers cleaned out and empty so I can put some other stuff away. Love getting things done.

Janet - sounds like a very productive day at your house as well.

Khol - glad you were able to get your plans done. Have not been to a square dance in years - it use to be so popular.

Sounds like a good day at your house as well.

Hello! I did get my lesson plans done right before emoticon midnight!

I took D14 and D11 to the last square dance of the year tonight. Hoping for a Sunny day tomorrow to take a Sunday afternoon drive to see trees at the peak of fall color along the road and at a lookout point. It would just be our small family of four since the older girls are going to a concert at the theatre. D19 is working at meeting her quota for concert attendance as a music major. D22 is happy to use her free tickets perk from working at the theatre and to have someone to go with.

Dorothy~Hope you got all your cleaning & organizing done today.

Kohl~Did you get the weekly homeschool plans finished?

We were a busy family today. I worked on finances and the November bills, meal planning, helped Isaac bag leaves (9 huge ones so far), made supper and now I’m Sparking while I wait for Tim and Maegann to be ready for game night. SolarQuest! While I was doing that…Tim was working on the soffit and siding on the garage. Maegann was doing homework, painting trim boards and raking in the front yard. Isaac was blowing the leaves from the driveway and then he raked the back yard. I will be happy to be a slug tomorrow and watch football after lunch!

Silly me ran to the cabin last night to get the laundry only to realize they were there for one more night. So on the way home I stopped to see a friend who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, Tried to give her some ideas on keeping herself calm.

Dorothy~Yeah on less training hours!

I'm having a quiet day home. Decided to do meal planning, email and watch a movie called "Once Upon A Winter's Date". Next up...a nap! This afternoon I have to pick Maegann up at 2:30 for a doctor's appointment at 3. Depending on the timing will determine if we stop at the house or not before her counseling appointment at 4:15. Then we're home for the day!

Tomorrow will not be quiet....the kids have the day off school for the end of quarter teacher's workday. Next week will offer parent/teacher conferences and the kids out of school Thursday and Friday.

I did a whole lot of nothing today. I took two naps, took Isaac to the doctor, watched a couple of movies and made tacos. Tomorrow morning is Bible study and I am looking forward to going after missing last week. I will start the laundry before I leave.

Janet - hope you were able to get everything straightened out on Isaac's one note - crazy how everything is done on computers now,

Sounds like Maegann had a nice weekend.

Khol - cute story about your daughter. I bet that was cool being outside watching for the meteors - wish I had known about it - although it was cloudy here probably would not have seen anything. the moon was so bright this morning.

I am in training all week - hard to focus - my mind is all over the place and the instructor like to tell story's so it makes it hard to put all of the sequences together.

Dorothy — Glad you had the time to clean and got it out of the way. I only seem to have time to do bits and pieces.

Janet — It seems you did some cleaning, too! Issac has to adjust to having more than one teacher's notes to follow. Here's a funny story. My daughter lost her syllabus for political science and kept forgetting to ask the professor for it in class. Her friend emailed the professor about it because she knew my daughter needed it from conversation outside of class. The professor emailed my daughter and said I hear you need a copy of the syllabus. She was a bit embarrassed. Crazy!...and she's a junior in college. That makes Isaac not look all that bad. Homeschool can be so different for them. Here they receive a daily goal sheet. College, and it sounds like high school for Isaac, has spoken, written, and online assignments that need to be synced which requires a whole new set of organizational skills.

Last night the Orionids were at their peak but we only saw one shoot across the sky. The sky was clear but since the moon was so close to being full its brightness made the meteor shower hard to see I guess. Still we were able to identify Orion and Betelgeuse. D11 just got done with an astronomy unit on comets so we were interested in watching this as the Orionids are a meteor shower created by Halley's Comet. We stayed up until 4:00a.m. to do this so I lightened today's schedule and we slept in just a bit longer than usual. My husband stepped outside with us so it was back to a family of four adventure. Lately there have been 5 or 6 it seems when for two years it had been just 4. The family of flux!

Dorothy~Good for you getting so much cleaning and laundry done! Have fun at the cabin today.

Kohl~Busy, busy! I hope you get that down time today too.

The sleepover went very well and there is talk of a second night so that Lizzie can stay for game night and go to church with us in the morning. Right now they are off wandering around at the Karcher Mall. Michael said they didn't need Maegann's help on the moving after all. Hopefully he can come for games tonight. Oh, I did find out that she is a flyer again and felt safe having a different guy as the back base catcher. She's such a cutie bug.

I decided to order my groceries online this morning and will go pick them up in about an hour. I just hate going on Saturday's and I needed to get some things so figured I would try it out. Pretty smooth so far!

I then swept floors, did 2 loads of laundry and started researching Isaac's OneNote for school as he needs some info for very late math assignments. I finally emailed the teacher as I could not find Chap. 1 details that were needed. Sent her some screen shots so she would know what he's got available. I am going to need to teach him how to use his OneNote...I cleaned up his email while I was there. Oh my! A mess!

Janet - that is scary when girls fall at cheer - I have a friend whose daughter has been battling the same problems - so sad.

I hope the girls had a good time.

Nice that Michael and his family are moving into a house. And that Maegann is going to help them move.

I hope everything works out for Issac and his classes - sounds like things are going well. Did you steer clean of him all night lol!

Hallmark movies are fun.

Khol - same thing here - the leaves are not turning like they usually do. Looks so odd.

You sure are busy being a taxi driver - glad to hear that school is going well.

Cleaned the house last night as I was alone last night when I got home - felt good to get that out of the way. Today I will clean the rental - I got the laundry done. Tomorrow I clean the cabin.

Dorothy — Hope your sinus issues are subsiding. I have a sore throat that has been lingering. Probably not getting enough sleep.

Janet — It's finally cooler here and the trees are just now starting to show a bit of color. It's kind of an odd year. Usually the leaves are at peak fall color on my birthday here. Everything was mostly green.

Today was super busy. I drove D22 to the theatre for work soon after I woke up. D19 is on fall break from college but is working twelve hour days for all of it. I drove her to the recycling plant to drop her off for the day so she could help with the film shoot there. My husband rounded up the younger two for their homeschooling day so math was almost done when I returned home.

We worked through history, grammar, Bible, and piano together. Friday is read a Psalm day (Psalm 13 today) and check Awana bookwork/memory work for Bible. We also have mini piano with voice recitals every Friday we are home. They play a new piece they have completed or an old one if they aren't quite ready with a new one. D22 helps out with this. I play rather poorly and am finding that they are improving faster than I. Goes to show that practice does wonders.

D14 worked independently on biology. While I worked on astronomy with D11. Then I worked on vocabulary with D14 while D11 dis the writing station portion of her spelling lesson.

After school I worked on laundry, prepped vegetables for our pizza dinner, and picked up D22 from work. When I felt like calling it a day after dinner I had to drive to pick up my daughter in the rainy dark. That took another hour+ before I could finally do a bit of sparking.

Tomorrow looks like it will be another crazy day. Tomorrow the film site is a town hall/jail 45 minutes away. Doing that and returning to take the younger girls to theatre from 11:00-2:00. Hoping to do absolutely nothing until I have to take D22 to work an evening show. Then perhaps I will do some Sparking before pickups begin all over again.

Maegann’s friend Lizzie won’t be over tonight until after the football game as she is on the cheer squad. She is a “flyer” and is thankful to be back at it after the base let her fall at a practice and she had a bad concussion. Not sure if she is still a flyer now though. Will be nice that the girls can hang out together tomorrow morning since it will be a late start to the sleepover. Tomorrow Maegann will be helping Michael and his family move things out of storage into their new house. They are actually staying in the new house tonight and Michael was so excited to be out of the apartment.

Isaac came home with quite an attitude when there wasn’t a basketball workout tonight. Let’s just say I will not be talking to him anytime soon. (rolling my eyes)

My day was spent doing a couple loads of laundry, meal planning, getting the IEP notes organized and also getting receipts put into the computer. I did watch a movie while working called “Love Again” and it was a sweet story. I actually started another one called “Nearlyweds”. Yep…I’m loving my Hallmark subscription!

Tonight is movie night so trying to get my Sparking done before electronics are banished!

Glad you enjoyed the class Dorothy.

Maegann had a rough start of the day, but I did get her to school for the second half of the day. She was doing very well tonight so I think we are back on track for this round. She is having a friend sleep over tomorrow night. Lizzy is very sweet so it is nice to see them connecting.

The IEP meeting went fine. Until the psychologist can add his evaluation we aren't set with a solid "here are the tests for Isaac", but we do have a plan. Got good feedback from two of his teachers (Science and Math) and tomorrow I need to reach out to other teachers once again.

Tomorrow I should have the whole day to myself.

Janet - the class was fun.

Hope that Maegann is feeling better - poor girl.

Sorry you had to miss your bible study.

How wonderful if Tim could get the local job.

Hope the cleanings went well.

Dorothy~Hope the class was good tonight. Leaves are starting to fall faster every day around here too.

My day was derailed right off as Maegann was feeling horrible once again. I got Isaac off to school and then came back and took her to Quick Care. She now has a bad sinus infection, but at least the ear infection had cleared up. Didn't get her new antibiotic until about 4 this afternoon, but she is feeling better knowing what is going on and having a day to rest. Sure hope this round does the trick for her.

So...since that was going on....I had to miss my ladies bible study morning. Couldn't be helped and I'm thankful I could easily be here for Maegann, but a bittersweet thing at the same time as I truly enjoy this group. After the doctor appointment I did some paid work and then Maegann and I played more of our Triopoly game we had started a few days ago. Once Isaac was home it was almost time to head to the dentist for their cleanings. Came home and BBQ'd hamburgers for supper and now we are still waiting for Tim to get home from the fencing job. Isaac will be heading off to basketball pretty soon and Maegann is staying home from youth group.

Job front for Tim - He interviewed yesterday with the Florida "global" company and today a good friend of ours reached out to him saying "We need a SCADA guy right now. Call!" I was able to get him that message so he called and the interview consisted of, "Would you consider working for us?" "Yes." "Okay. Send your resume and I'll start figuring out how to get you hired." This job is local. We'll see what happens.

I am actually feeling much better - I think the hot baths are helping.

Hope you can get your paid work done and Maeganns counseling session goes well.

I worked on the yard a bit last night - going to have to start working on the leaves pretty soon. Taking a class tonight.
