Busy day here and I really need to get dinner on the table!

Started out with hair trims, then to a jewelry party, then home for lunch, then mowed the lawn for 2 hours, then to Payless Shoes to try and find dd some sneakers (no luck) and now I'm needing to get the homemade mac & cheese out of the oven to go with the roast I put in the slow cooker this morning.

I'm pooped!!!

Gary woke up this morning and came out all dressed to go out. I was surprised but decided not to complain about the change in plans and just go with it. He took us to this 6acre grocery store in Fairfeild OH called Jungle Jims. I have always wanted to go there they have EVERYTHING. It is sectioned by countries. Then on the way home he surprised us by stopping at a small diner in Cincinnati. Cin is known for chili. This diner has been in business since 1940 and voted best in area. Camp Washington Chili. I ordered a 3 way which is chili over spagetti topped with cheese. Here's the good part I ate HALF and boxed the rest. Now we are off to Mollie's high school play. It really has been a great Saturday!

Thank you all...coughing this morning, I managed to put my back out...something I have not managed to do in a very long time...I feel like a mess!

It goes to show that I really need to be consistent with exercise, but not until this bad pain goes away...but I am stretching and maybe a walking workout later...gently... emoticon

Christina - LOL about why you don't home school. For me, it ahs been a long and short month all at the same time.

Dorothy - Enjoy your ride today. My posterior hurts just thinking about it. What type of ride do you have?

Christie - I hope you feel better and those interview calls start rolling in.

Linda - NZ sounds interesting. I'm totally into some of those flowering weeds too, sometimes. Not as much as my boys though.

I hoping all of our missing in action moms are doing okay. Has anyone heard from Tracy? I know she has much going on, but I miss her.

I do agree that this month has flew by. All the more reason to stay in the moment! (I have been reading a lot about that lately)
Dorothbero~ I am cheering you on! I remember when you first started talking about this trip it seems so long ago. I am so excited for you to get this time with your girls. And the accomplishment you will feel after 42MILES!
It's another rainy day here. I walked the puppy in the drizzle this moring and actuallly enjoyed it. That is something I would have normally complained about, but the grass is so green and the flowers (weeds) are so pretty and colorful, the birds are singing to me...Life is too good to complain!
Have a great saturday friends!

I am editing for the teachers out there. * has flew* ??? Now you know why I don't homeschool emoticon

So my much anticipated vacation was spent since, but I am actually grateful that it was during vacation that I fell ill. I still feel sick but I do have two more days and am only half way through the med's. I did have my thyroid checked...perhaps that is why I am not losing weight? (I only wish! emoticon )

Dorothy - Is that a bicycle ride or a motor bike ride. Sounds interesting either way, although motorcycle riding isn't really for me. I don't do being a passagner well. I love bicycle riding, but my, um, posterior doesn't hold out well. When I had access to recumbent bikes, I could go for miles and miles.

Good Morning everyone else. Thank goodness its Friday. L & S were both starting to come down with colds/sniffles/whatever. L seems better this morning, but I was up a good portion of the night with S. Every once in a while, he start crying "GO AWAY NOSE" as he hates when its running. Me too.

Good morning ladies! Waiting on the water taxi to take us to town. Looking forward to it!

Still tired from yesterday for whatever reason. Kids head to grandma's this evening so I plan to get a few little things caught up. Banking for one!

We have to go close on our loan this morning...got a lower rate and almost cut our payment in half! Yeah! Will take the kids to the library afterwards since we'll be right next door. Then...lunch. Hmmmm the hardest meal of the day for me. LOL

Janet - I love rain especially in the circumstances you described. Lately, ours has fallen mostly on the weekend.

Christie - Follow drs orders and feel better soon.

Sue - Good luck with getting stuff ready. I know you can do it. I have a busy 1st planned as well, not as busy as yours though. My sisters and I are taking my mother out for breakfast. We started doing it a few years ago ( a weekend or two before Mother's Day) and have made it a tradition. When we picked the date, we didn't realize it was my nieces' college graduation, so we will have a graduation party to attend that evening as well.

Dorothy - I'm in with you and Janet, especially a meal with just adults.

Olga - Fantastic news about your mother. Amazing what a simple lifestyle change can make. I didn't get out this morning to walk, but hoping to get out this afternoon.

Yesterday, L (whose name I actually accidently used in the Storm the Heavens blog - oops) and I crashed while running in the backyard. By an hour later, I hurt bad, but aspirin, a hot bath, and a good nights rest seemed to have done the trick. I feel a little bit of soreness, but not enough now to stop me from doing stuff.

Thanks everyone for the get well wishes. I actually went to the doctor today, first time since 2006. I have an ear infection and cold. I finally succumbed to what the men in my house had. I will feel better soon.

Good morning ladies. Anyone care to join me on the water taxi for a carefree day in town and lunch? I just feel like getting out but not doing anything too exerting. Our time in Charleston is almost over and it has been fun. Beautiful gardens!

I'm doing laundry again today (how does it collect so fast?) and then need to get meals planned and my Bible study lesson finished for tonight. We had a major thunder storm last night and today they are calling for rain off and on. Love it! Especially on newly mowed and fertilized grass.

Olga - Your Mom's story is great. I am so happy for her and you and especially your DD. She is getting more time with grandma and learning how to be healthy all at the same time. And you have obviously been inspired too. Keep it up!

I haven't been around much, but I am back on tracking and exercising. I feel pretty good about my progress so far. I'll find out if it's working at the end of the week!

Have a great day Mommies!

Christie, I hope you feel better.

Cynedra, that is a wake up call. I hope everyone hears it.

I also have a story for you all. My mother has type II diabetes. She used to pick up DD in a car from school and take her to our house. Now, since she had her car accident and has not bought a car yet, she walks. DD school is between my parent's house and our house. So, my mother walks to school, then DD and mother walk home and then my mother walks back to her house. Since she started walking, her blood sugar got under control. She feels so much better now.

I finally got on the treadmill last night. I walked very slowly, but up hill and with weights for only about 20 minutes. It was a pretty good work out, especially for someone who has not worked out in months and months. Now, I brought cooked veggies and low cal soup for lunch and nuts for snack. Hopefully, I will be able to keep it up.

Have a great day, Mommies.

Good morning all. That strength training (especially if done fully) can really leave you a bit sore than next day. I try to do it two days a week - intended to last night but didn't make it. Sometimes starting strength training can temporarily cause the scale to do up a little because muscles weigh more, but its worth it because the muscles also increase your metabolic rate.

I woke up this morning so sore it hurts to breath
emoticon I changed up my wii fit routine for early morning I normally just had yoga but yesterday I decided to add some strength training to the daily routine. LOL I skipped this morning, but I plan to get my 3 miles in later.

Cynedra~ I'm continuing to pray for you and your family. I do understand the wake up call your talking about, everytime I visit my dad I am reminded to take better care of myself and teach my family to be healthy also.

Christie~ Hope your feeling better today!

Have a great Wednesday!

Christie - I didn't post it to be sad, but more as a wake up call. I making some copies for my brother for some stuff and I am going to be copying an extra for me so I can cut out the cause of death information and put it up on my refrigerator. Back in December, her weight and my were pretty close together. She wore one size larger - one size, that's all. Her children were grown. If something like that were to happen to me and it could very well given the life I was leading a few short months ago, I would be leaving young children motherless. I can't let that happen. I just can't. Not that you want to lose your mother at any age, but being finished with high school is better than being in school. (And don't bother to read my blog tonight because I think I am going to mostly cut and paste this as a reminder to myself.

Sorry to be such a downer, because I am really trying to get myself on a roll. I was doing really well the first three months, but April has taken its toll. I just have to get myself refocused.

Thanks, Ladies.

I am sure we will all have fun anywhere we go, especially since we can take our cabana boys with us.

I would like to visit Alaska and do some hiking. I love hiking in the woods and mountains.

Also, it has been years since I have been to Las Vegas. Maybe we can stay at a luxury hotel and spa and see a lot of great shows. I am not much of a gambler, though.

Cynedra~Yes...a definite wake up call to get healthier! I'll take the challenge.

Olga~Hugs to you! Glad you're feeling more in control.

I tried to remember everyone...who is going to Gatlinburg? Christine? Anyway...I'll be in Memphis / Little Rock the first week of May. I know it is on the other side of the state but too fun that we're both going to TN about the same time. You'll miss spring break week (lucky you). Us...not so fortunate.

Had a very busy day yesterday and my focus when I finally got stopped was to get photos done from the trip or I'd regret it knowing even more pictures are coming from our next trip. Basically I spent the day doing laundry, school with the kids and mowing the lawn. Lawn took 2 hours and the temps soared to 86 (we've been in the 60's so the body hasn't adjusted yet) so it was hot. Took Maegann shopping for a frame for her princess cross-stitch after dinner and then I was finally able to sit down at the computer about 8 p.m. and work on pictures.

This morning we did school and then headed to Amy's for our monthly playdate/lunch. Got home about 2:30 and finished school. Kids are now playing while I check in here and in about 20 minutes I take Maegann to ballet. Tonight is my massage (got moved to 6:15) so I can get dinner ready easily before I go. I am thankful it is tonight. I really need it!

Thanks for ideas on locations. One has been a match to something I had written down but I'm taking note of all the locations for future adventures as well. May just have to play "eeny meeny miny moe." LOL

Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days. DH took today off of work and I got a mental health day. Went with brother to put nephew on plane back to Oregon. We are hoping he decides to move back home as things are working out for him like he planned and it would save him lots of money. Plus, nephew's undergrad school will definitely do what it takes to get him in their graduate program, whereas, he was never able to get accepted out in Oregon like he thought he would. I'm feeling somewhat better after being gone for hours.

I wish DH could afford to book a cabin for us in Gatlinburg.

Janet - I'm glad the trip went well and I'm hoping to go over and look at your pictures soon.

Christine - Way to go on the exercise keep it up.

Olga - I hope you feel better soon. I hate those crazy health scares like that.

Candance - I love the Alaska idea, but I like the idea of Lynn's of England as well.

On the scary side of things, we finally got my SILs death certificate. Cause of death was Cardiopulmonary arrest, caused by pulmonary diesease, caused by Obesity. Scary, huh? If that doesn't scare me into exercise and healthy eating what will. Except that today I skipped breakfast and had way too much lunch. Not something I make a habit of, but I got up at 5:25, left that house 15 minutes later. I'd like to say that tomorrow will be a better day, but I'm not sure - L has testing (Florida Learning Diagnostic testing) at 10:45, and it is supposed to take a couple of hours.

My Goals: 10% at a time.

Hello everyone,

I feel like I've been lost somewhere lately... the past several weekends have been loaded with birthday parties - I'm glad we're done for a while. This past Sunday was free of any commitments, so I laid low and watched some TV shows I had recorded on the DVR and basically did nothing. It was wonderful.

Olga, I feel so bad for you with those migraines... my sister suffered with them for years, but found that menopause has pretty much eliminated them. Something (maybe) to look forward to.

Janet, glad you had a good vacation - it's always nice to get home, though, isn't it.

Haven't read all the posts in detail as I had so many to catch up on, so I'll just say "hi" and hope ya'll are having a good day!

Oh and thinking of our May destination, Alaska is beautiful in May and there's a lot to do. We could travel around by ferry and visit the native sites, see some glaciers, photograph some wildlife, do lots of hiking, which would benefit our tushies!

I am here and finally have a few minutes to tell you all about last week. It was very stressful. Of course, I ate like there is no tomorrow and just walked the dog once on Monday.

Monday of last week, I went to get my mammogram done and took the kids to get their check ups and immunization shots. Tuesday, mammogram place called to tell me to come in for more x-rays. Of course, that set my migraines and stomach problems on high. Turns out it was nothing, but the stress of Tuesday and Wednesday really got to me.

DD had to have 4 shots. One of her arms got a rash and the other one was hurting. So, she was acting more then her usual drama queen way. I was trying to be understanding, but it was hard because I know it does not hurt as bad as she says. I was about to loose it with her all week.

Needless to say, the week made me so tired. I was really looking forward to relaxing on the weekend. Well, I never go to. I was so upset and tired yesterday that had a fight with DH. I have a very wonderful husband, but he never gets tired and will never understand how tired I get. I am tired anyway from my daily headaches and my meds that I take. But, the stress of last week just put me over the top and he just does not understand that.

Finally, I am feeling better today after going to bed at 8:30 last night. I am still tired, but much better.

Hopefully, my next post will be happier.

Well if you want to do England, I lived there for a year as an exchange student in high school. Been back twice. In fact my good friend from those days is FINALLY getting married in November, and I am HOPING to go to the wedding. A lot depends on the date, which is not set, but I am really hoping. He came to our wedding, and has visited many times. My parents think if him as a son, and will probably go whether I do, or not. So, I will travel with them if I go.

But, I digress. I would love to visit Holland, France, (been for a short time) Italy, The Middle East, Austrailia...

Dorothy, I hear you on last week... mine is already better, no less busy, but much less stress.

Take care all!

Dorothybero~ I hope this week is better, less STRESS!

Janet~ I'm headed to look at the pics now. I have never been skiing. I tried iceskating as a teen and didn't have a good experience. I think I am unbalanced emoticon

While I was gone last week Hubby booked us a cabin in Gatlinburg TN for the 2nd weekend in May. He even made arrangements for the 3 oldest sons to watch their younger brothers. We have not been away together in over 4 years. I'm really anxious about leaving 3yo, but really excited to have that time together with Gary. We are planning some hiking in the mountains emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone! We're home and finally able to stop. We got into town about 1:30 but by the time we'd unloaded, put away, visited my dad, got the dogs, bathed the dogs and went out for tacos...it is 8:00! I'm tired and looking forward to a good night of rest in my own bed! Fun trip though. I did get a few photos posted on my page so you can see a little bit of the area.

My goal was reached too! The princess cross-stitch was completed about 10:00 p.m. last night. Yeah!!! That picture is up as well. Next project will be a truck of some sort for Isaac.

Another goal...got through all but 2 magazines! Yeah!

Tomorrow...back to normal whatever that is. School and errands probably. Glad I have a massage on Tuesday afternoon...I need it!

I'm definitely spending the day tomorrow at the spa and/or with a good book. Christina...do join me!

So...May is coming. Any thoughts on a fun place to visit for our chat?

Janet

I'm in, Christie. Rain or no rain (we have sprinkles today which is good because we need it). I haven't worked out the last two days so I really really have to do it today. My 5k is coming up in less than a month and I have trained very little. So far, April has been a bust, but there is still time to turn it around. That is, if I ever finish the oodles of paperwork and house cleaning I have to do. I'm seriously, though, thinking of going and running in the rain before I get bogged down with all the other stuff.

Have a great day everyone.

I am sitting here with my jeans feeling tight again, but going to list what I will do for exercise each day. It is only 30 minutes per night plus the 10 minute bootcamp spark video. I have a stability ball, emoticon , ready to be inflated and ready to go! I am on vacation this week and therefore have NO excuses.

So....we are heading out to a child's birthday party emoticon this afternoon, but my cardio for this evening will be Cathe's Basic Step. Then the 10 minute bootcamp video.

I will check in that I did it.

Remember...you can do a 30 minute walk around Charleston and then the spark video in the hotel room! So whether we are based in reality or fantasy, Spark is always with us!

emoticon

So...who is with me for 30 minutes of exercise today? Let's do one day at a time! emoticon

Janet sounds like you've had a good week. I am in for some quiet ME time too. An afternnon at the spa sounds great!
I am in need of bootcamp. I haven't had a good workout for a week. I plan to work outside this afternoon in the flower gardens. We are also planning to clean the storage area which is one of my goals emoticon
Planning to get back into normal routine tomorrow.
