Janet, sounds like you had a productive day. You are such a great self motivator. What is your secret? I tried to work at home for a year. It was so hard. I found myself goofing off all day and then trying to get some work done at the last minute.

I am finally better today after being sick all week. My nose is clearer and I am not coughing as much. I am sure my co-workers are loving it since I was coughing non stop for the last 2 days.

My mother and DD were in a car accident a few days ago. They are both fine, but DD got very scared. My mother's car will take weeks to fix. The other car that was an SUV, only had a few scratches. It's good to have a big car.

Have a good evening, Mommies. I will talk to you all in our October thread.

Spent the ENTIRE morning at doctors. We (me and the kids) left at 9:00 to pick up my dad and then off we went for his cardiologist appt. We got done there at 10:40 and then I left him in that waiting area while I took the kids to the other end of the hallway to check Maegann in at the pediatrician. Asked if Dr. Tom was running behind and they said "at least 30 minutes..maybe 40" so I let them know I would be back. Off we went to get dad and take him back to his place and then drove straight back. We made the trip in 25 minutes and only had to wait for 10 in the lobby. Maegann does have a sinus infection so will go pick up her meds after I drop her at ballet. I was thankful our pediatrician had an opening this morning at 11:00. He checked Isaac as well (since Isaac asked him to so nicely) and I didn't mind since he's been coughing and sneezing himself. Lungs are still clear at this point.

No matinees worth seeing this afternoon so I'm planning to get things done for Friday School (have lots of copies to make) and then do some scrapbooking.

Survivor tonight! Yeah!

Heading out for church in about 45 minutes which means I need to get all the leftovers heated up for supper pretty soon! I never got near my Bible study book so have no clue what we're studying tonight.

Other than our usual stuff around here I made phone calls. Had to locate a funeral home to put on the list at the Asst. Care, make two doctor appointments for dad and a call to the butcher to get our cutting instructions in place. A relief to have them done. Tomorrow I need to call on hotels in Portland to see if they are near the light rail so we can access it easily with the kids.

Tomorrow morning we'll begin our day taking dad to the cardiologist and then we'll come home and work on school lessons. It's also Thursday so the kids will be with grandma and pop-pop but there is nothing playing at the cheap theater. Drats!

Friday I will teach my first of eight lessons on Sharks. I'll be gone two of those eight class days but am thinking dh can help next week when I'm in Portland by showing a video and maybe quizzing them on what we study tomorrow.

I did find time to get on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

Better scoot.... be back much later tonight!

Sushi~Yep...a few of us are still working the 10-day challenge. I just finished and am starting a new goal. Will be starting over again tomorrow!

Christie~I agree....none of my dogs have been "just dogs" but you know how many people would say that! LOL I actually have memorial pages for them in our family website! Shelby's doing better tonight after having some antibiotics in her system. Just brighter and more aware of our comings and goings than we've seen in awhile.

Verdict at the doctor today was to increase dad's antidepressant dosage as the doctor wants to try and see if we can chemically control this before taking him off. dh and I are not convinced since when this happened 13 years ago the same doctor found it did not work chemically and had to pull him off the meds to see change. Will take dad back in a couple of weeks.

Off to watch SYTYCD.

Lynn eeek! Sorry you have to deal with that!

The diaper rash is almost gone. I think the cloth might help her potty train faster too; she gets annoyed when they're wet!

MissCleo~Yes, Fuzzi Bunz are a cloth diapering "system." VERY absorbent and stain free! I loved using them.

Lynn~Ugh! Head lice!

Kids are both coughing up storms today so I'm keeping my hands sanitized big time! Been using my Neti-Pot a couple times a day to keep germs rinsed out of my sinuses as well. I am having some cold-like things going on, but I'm praying I can ward them off a bit.

Have our nursing student over tonight for supper and then she's supposed to do more of her observing. She has to have her report written by the 13th so I'm guessing she'll be over sometime this weekend as well for her final time she must spend with us.

Will be taking dad to the doctor this afternoon and am hoping the doctor agrees the med change is worth a try.

Shelby (dog) is now on her antibiotics so her lungs should be feeling better in a couple of days. You can tell she isn't feeling that great today. Her exploratory surgery is set for the 13th. I know she's "just a dog" but I can't fathom losing all three of my furry sweeties within six months so I really am praying the mass is easily extracted. After dh and I talked about it last night we are thinking this could be something she's had for years due to some eating habits we've witnessed and there's never been any indications of things such as cancer so we're hopeful.

Hi all. Long time no chat with you ladies. I have been sick with a really horrible head cold for the last week, which I got from DH. Now, both kids are sick. At least I feel well enough to type and go to work.

I never heard of the name Corona either, but I do have bag balm. That's what it says on the package - Bag Balm. It is wonderful. We started using on diaper rash and now use it for a lot of other things. I put on on my red nose since I have been blowing it so much. After a few hours the redness and pain goes away.

Janet, I hope Shelby will recovers nicely.

Have a great week, ladies.

Janet...
You are not getting anything the easy way this month are you? I hope your shelby has a solvable problem.

Also hope all the baby buns are better in the AM.

I just this evening discovered dd has/had head lice. We are all shampooed and sleeping on clean bedding. Much vacuuming has commenced. The CDC says that's not necessary, but I think I'll play it safe. Lots more laundry and dryer work in the morning. I banged the bad finger and it bled through the thick bandage (see blog for hedge trimmmer injury below) while searching for extra mattress pads.

I hope I didn't mess up my planned return to work on Wed. set to see doc. re it tomorrow anyway. Wish me luck. www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo

I didn't know it had a name! I thought Corona was a beer :) We always called it "bag balm" or "cow medicine."

But no, we haven't tried it. Her butt looks WAY better after 3 days of cloth. DH is still complaining but I think he's becoming a believer :)

Fuzzi Bunz? I thought they were cloth. We are using a similar system--if we use disposable I am going to have to seek out some chlorine/chemical-free disposable diapers. Our 3 yr old never had rashes, with just pampers and lansinoh wipes.

Oh Janet...not your furry babies! My Katie (yellow lab) is 11 and I worry about her with the winter coming. She is so stiff and sore now...and my black lab has an ear infection and I ran out of money this pay check...going to call for some med's and then will take him.

I worked out...going to shower..and then my reward...cross-stitch!

We're looking at the possibility of losing our third (of 3) basset hounds next month. The vet took x-rays and found Shelby has pneumonia and a mass in her stomach. It could just as easily be a cyst or absess that is easily removed as it could be something worse. We chose to let him surgically go in and find out. If it is not good he will just put her to sleep. We're praying for it being an easy growth obviously! We will take her in on Oct 13 and then head to Portland for our zoo trip with the kids. Will plan on picking Shelby up on the 15th when we return.

My french bread experiment has gone south tonight. LOL Just hoping it will have the semblance of bread sticks at this point to go with the spaghetti! I am guessing it was not having quick acting yeast so will definitely try it again another time with the correct ingredients!

dh has always had Corona around. Really great for extremely chapped lips.

Cloth diapers... I'm a fan! We used cloth with both kids and never regretted it. Yes, disposable are much easier, but since I was home it wasn't an issue to wash them every other day and hang them out on the line for bleaching/drying. I had Fuzzi Bunz around too for our "need disposable" outings and for night time. The rashes were pretty much non existent with the kids.

Speaking of the kids... they are off with dad right now to the beef butcher. The hauler got here and they had no trouble getting the cows in the truck this year (yeah!) and then had to go with him to the butcher for the initial paperwork to sign them in to us and who will be buying the beef. Our freezer is getting bare so I'm thankful it is time to do this. Two pounds of hamburger will have to do us for a couple of weeks now! LOL

Will be heading to the vet in about an hour so our school time is highly disrupted today. On top of that both kids have colds (I caught it slightly myself) and dd is feeling crabby. Going to be fun huh?

I hunted the internet for gluten/dairy free french bread and found a recipe I'm going to try tonight so we can have spaghetti. I also found a margarine that is gluten/dairy free so we'll see how that works.

Lynn - that's so funny - I have corona in the barn for my horses. It's VERY greasy. I have never used that in the house, but we do use "bag balm" for lots of stuff.

Cleo - my little one has a very sensitive bottom. He gets a rash every other week it seems and no ointment seems to work more than once. I have found that rinsing out the wipes with cold water after opening the package seems to help make them not sting. I think he may be allergic to the soap in them besides. Tonight I opted for balmex. Hopefully we will both have smooth baby bottoms in the AM!

I missed my run tonight because it has been pouring all day. Hopefully I can get one in tomorrow to make up for it. I can feel how down it has got me. I better figure something out for the winter.

Cleo~
Know this sounds dumb, but have you heard of Corona, it's a lanolin based cream you buy for animals (cow teats to be specific among others). My daughter had a similar type rash when 9mo. My SIL suggested it, but I wouldn't hear of it as my daugter "is not a cow" but when I went to the store (we were at her house in OHIO) shw talked DH into allowing her to try it.

We won't talk about how mad I was at her (for going against my express wishes, or DH for wimping out when I Wasn't there) because... It worked better than the prescription we had, better than anything.

My sister (the doctor) even began using it on my nephew who had lots of bad rashes made worse by exema. Good luck! Poor baby, poor mama.

Ouch Lynn!!!! Hope your finger is feeling better.

Our poor 18 month old has such a horrible diaper rash. Nothing, including Boudreaux's butt paste, was working. So I went and got some cloth diapers. DH can't wait to get back to the plastic ones. I've always wanted to use cloth because they're just better for the baby and for the environment. But the kids have been in daycare until now (now we have someone who comes to the house--hooray!!! She's awesome!!! But DH doesn't like the extra trouble. He also doesn't believe her behind is that much better. The open areas are about 1/5 what they were after just 2 days. But they're still red so he thinks they're not better. Now if someone with no training in how to evaluate a wound told him it looked better he would probably believe them. My 14 years of training means nothing to him :)

We're going to be moving next month. Same town, different location. Turns out our 3 yr old was worried we were not bringing important things like her blanket, her artwork, her stuffed animals. Funny the things they worry about and you'd have no idea if you didn't listen.

Cut my finger on hedge trimmer today. That's what I get for working after my "day of leisure" yesterday. I did a good enough job on it that it required a trip to urgent care, minimum 2 days off work, vicadin and an eval by my own doc on Tues. LUckily it was the tip of the finger, it was my left hand and I'll be fine.

Other than that it was a great weekend.

Wonder what the k parents are going to think? This will be the 2nd/3rd days I'll miss since Sept. 8th. emoticon

Thanks for the reminder about Amazing Race. I forgot all about it! I've got to get the prep done for this week's lessons - just kept putting it off all weekend. But it was to take some time for "me" so that's okay! It'll get done, if not tonight before class tomorrow.

MissCleo~Very cute though coming from a 3-yr old.

Candi~I cant imagine having my child coming home knowing another boy peed on them! Yikes! How did James handle it or did they say? Glad things are running a bit smoother for you.

Christie~I havent heard of that program either. Sorry!

Went to the rodeo this afternoon for a couple of hours and that was fun. Each year grandma and pop-pop get us free passes as they allow an access road to the participants. I still cant imagine enjoying such dangerous things such as bull riding, but thats just me! LOL

Tim is over visiting dad right now so I could have a break and to keep the kids home. They are both sporting colds. I better not catch one since Women of Faith is only two weeks away!

Tonight is Amazing Race (yeah!!) and I need to get started on my Shark outline for the K-3 class at Friday School so better keep going.

Tomorrow it will take longer to school accomplished between the beef hauler coming at 10 to get two of the cows and taking the dog to the vet around 11:30.

Crazy frat party! Still can't find the toga I was wearing! lol

Janet,
You are always so busy and I don't think i have ever heard you utter a complaint. You are truly a blessing to your family.

Lu,
Sorry this congrats on the full time job is so late! WOW! So happy for you!

Christy,
Havent heard of that reading program so I am no help. Hope things have started to settle down for you at school. I am still praying for you and the whole situation! HOw is Nason? Still loving school?
James got peed on(yes peed on) in the restroom last Thursday. He came home in his extra set of clothes. Boys and the restroom!UGH! The teacher said she didnt kow if it was an accident due to another boy getting wet too.

School is starting to run a little smoother for me. I have 2 paras now. Thank the Lord. Still not a lot of time to get on the computer though. James had his 3rd soccer game yesterday. He scored 2 goals and got kicked in the eye. Not really the eye, the cheek bone right under his eye. He loves it. Gets a little tired, he is not the fastest runner!
We have beautiful weather and the rest of life is good. Never enough money to pay what needs paid but will there ever be enough?? Everyone is healthy and we have a roof over our heads and that is enough for me!

I have Netflix :) I pay less than $5 a month for one video at a time. I've belonged for about 10 years--I think it's great :) Wish I'd thought of it :)

My 3 yr old told me today (when she didn't want her little sis in the bathtub with her) "I just need a little more time to myself, Mommy." I think she hears that from her dad. I wish I were better at saying things like that :( I'm working on setting limits :)

Busy day filled with 101 errands. I am trying to teach myself this reading program that I must teach at work and it is so overwhelming. Anyone teach Wilson reading?

Anyway...snacking too much but did exercise. I changed my profile picture for motivation!

Lynn~Too late for me to find "veg time" today. I started the day grocery shopping then spent 30 minutes at the library pulling books for our next 2 weeks of "together school" and then after putting the groceries away headed to the office supply store. Then I helped put freshly butchered turkeys in freezers.... had a quick lunch at McD's (chicken strips) and then mowed the lawn for 2 hours. Just got sat down so thought I'd check email and SP. Next goal... getting my Shark unit outlined as I have to be ready for Friday!

Does anyone here use NexFlix? I'm considering it for homeschool videos mostly. If you do... what do you like/dislike about it and which plan do you use?

You're right it's a rainy Saturday here. I think I'm going to get out of my church clothes and veg out with a good book. Everyone still has clean underwear the laundry can wait another day.

Aren't you guys back from that game yet? I've been waiting all day.

How are we going to get ready for that frat party at the same time. The bathrooms only hold one or two of us at a time.

Seriously, though. I am throroughly enjoying a VERY laid back day. Urge you all to find a couple of "veg" hours as soon as possible. The work undone, will get done, the repair to your body and mind of some down time will help more than you know.
Love to you all

Hi ladies!

Busy day here, but a good one. Began with our morning at Friday School and lunch and then a quick visit to see how dad was doing today. (Still calm, but still complaining about pills making him dizzy.) Once home we accomplished our own schoolwork and I was able to get on the treadmill before needing to get things finished up for supper. We had a college student over to eat and do the first part of her assignment. She's a nursing student and they have to write a report on a family. It was a very thorough interview tonight about our family behaviors and medical histories. She'll be back over on Tuesday night for more info gathering.

Tonight.... once kids are asleep we'll watch our tape of Leno from last night. Wanted to see the Rush LImbaugh piece.

Long day, long week! Any frat parties this weekend? Need some time to relax. I would really like to get in a good workout tomorrow. I need to do it for me. I pushed workouts to the back burner most of the week. I did get out and walk on my lunch today and it felt great to do something for me.

Lu~Congrats on the job!

Enjoyed "The Proposal" very much. Just a fun, cute movie. I like Sandra Bullock though.

Dad was calmer today than I've seen him in awhile and he did say he felt he rested fairly well last night so that was good. He's complained about not sleeping for so long. He has been getting himself out for the meals so that was positive as well. I also got him to say he's met a few others during mealtime and that the staff has been very nice to him. All positives!!! Now I just pray he can get to a place where he believes he can be better.

Off to get the kids shortly. Tomorrow morning is Friday School so I probably won't be around until later in the afternoon.

Denise~Happy Anniversary!! We'll be celebrating our 27th on Oct. 9.

Having school wars again with ds. He just believes if he quits trying and purposely does his work wrong that he'll get to be done. I'm not even allowing him out of his seat now. The fits are getting shorter, but he's still trying! UGH!!!

After lunch today we'll head over to see dad for a minute and pray he's adjusting a bit. Hope so. Today is also ballet for dd and then dh and I are going to see "The Proposal."

Today is my wedding anniversary. We are married 21 years today. We went out to dinner the other night as DH is working 9-9 today. So the big plans today - a trip to the library, maybe the grocery store.

Christie~An amazing thing with all the dad stress is that I've actually been losing weight! I typically gain under such stress so I know the gluten/dairy thing is working since there wasn't much exercise happening.

Another great Bible study tonight. We talked about God's guidance. Perfect timing for me!

Happy Wednesday!

We got dad moved over to the new place this morning so hopefully he will calm down and accept the change soon. He was a wreck. Will take him to the doctor on Tuesday afternoon.

Then I raced with the kids to the Waste Water plant for the field trip. I was the coordinator so I had to be there! dh stayed behind with dad for another hour getting him up and helping get his menu plans in place for this week. The field trips went well and it seemed everyone had a fun "stinky" time!

After getting the afternoon groups off we headed to the library, over to see dad for a minute and then home. Tonight is church and I need to be out of here in less than an hour. Yikes! The day has zoomed by! I did manage to get on the treadmill for 30 minutes after we got home this afternoon.

Better keep going or I'll never make it out of here on time.

Ok...tonight is an exercise night! Wish me luck because I am tired, have lots of laundry and school work to do, but I must exercise. Just so tired.....

Today was a nice day outside and Nason went to school in shorts. The leaves are turning and fall has arrived.

Now that the major rains are gone, it's really nice here. No more 100 degree weather...hopefully. The last few days has been really nice. In the 60s in the morning and high 70s to low 80s in the day time. Too bad I have to work and not enjoy this weather. But, this weekend should be nice enough to do some outside activities.

I am still working on loosing my last 5 lbs. I am so close and so far away. Now that the weather is nicer, maybe I can start walking more outside and that will do it.

I forgot how much harder it is to run while pushing a stroller! I ran 2 miles and walked one. My plan had been to run 3, but I think I'll work my way up to that. I am going to try the same thing tomorrow as long as it's nice out. It's not the same relaxed feeling as when I run by myself, but I am getting a better work out!!

Been eating less food and will work out tomorrow. I am starting off with 20 minutes on the elliptical and building up. I really want to do this!

School finally accomplished (4 p.m.) and all errands run. So nice that my to do list concerning dad is getting whittled down to nothing. Yeah! The biggest piece still missing is getting the Medicaid application process finished and the caseworker is being VERY rude by not acknowledging she has the documentation she requested. I've emailed her twice and called her today. No reply. I'm thinking I will call and speak to someone else tomorrow since that is the day they have to have those papers or they will terminate his application. How hard is it to email and say "I have them. Thanks."?

Well, off to work on supper. We're having roastbeef gravy (gluten and dairy free) with biscuits (also gluten and dairy free).

Tonight is Dancing with the Stars... can't wait to just be entertained and not have to think. LOL

DD was fussing about school here as well but because she was ready and I wasn't. I was paying some bills and not paying her enough attention.

Hope everyone has recovered from their busy weekend. The college fair gave DD16 some things to be considered in her decision. Next up are the SATs.

This week Pittsburgh is hosting the G20 Summit. I live very close to downtown and the helicopters will have me batty but the weekend. Not just traffic helicopters but the big Army ones that seem to travel low in threes and rattle the house. A lot of schools and businesses will be closed due to the protesters and road closures. It should be an interesting week.

Christie~ emoticon back at ya!

Have laundry and school underway. dd has been fussing big time about having to do school at all this past week and she tried again today. I laid the law down for her and she's complying nicely. It was to the point she was just pushing to see what she could get away with. ds still pulls his "I can't do this" and throws a fit after he's just finished the exact same thing a minute prior. Today he is learning that his fits will not get him out of the room for a break. He was one word shy of an actual break too! Crazy kid!

This afternoon we have several errands all related to dad's moving. First the discharge meeting at the current place, drop by the new place to get them a copy of his insurance cards, go to the apt. to turn the keys in and get his cleaning deposit back and then by the copy center to fax in my power of atty to get his power bill closed. Seeing light at the end of this tunnel ladies! emoticon

Other accomplishments -- the meal plan is in place for the entire week (I've slacked on this for too long.) and the scale was down again 1-2 pounds.

Lynn~Sounds like a fun weekend! I'll have to go check out your photos. Good thoughts regarding dd's sleeping "issue." Will have to run it by dh and see what he thinks. We've had Bible time and reading forever so it would be a hard habit to break!

The apartment is clean! We were able to ship the kids off to play with friends all afternoon and dh and I spent about 2 1/2 hours getting it finished. I will call tomorrow and see if we can go by for the final inspection and turn the keys in. Nice to be finished! When we went to get the kids we stopped in on dad momentarily and also picked up his television and picture of the kids so we could have them in the new place when he arrives Wednesday. Could tell he was on antidepressants as he was very calm. I know he thinks "groggy" but I think "calm."

I am soooo far behind on laundry it isn't even funny! I've been trying to launder the stuff that came home from dad's place but tomorrow I have to do our clothes!!

Way to go Jennifer. You are so awesome.
Janet... from the way you've described Maegann I think devotions and stories get her mind going. Far be it from me (teacher and all) to suggest not reading/doing devotions at bedtime. But... maybe before bath after dinner. Then calming classical music and a quiet cuddle at lie down time?

Had a hugely busy weekend... see my album for pictures of Tommy and me in full Victorian Garb. That was Friday.
I was up at 6:15am to get my hair done at 7am ... big huge 50th party for BIL given by his sisters and SILs. Saturday. All cooking and most shopping was done yesterday as well.

Today was family brunch and church, very exciting volleyball match for DD which DH coached, and a nice dinner (roasted chicken, fresh broccoli and roasted potatoes) tonight. Now I have school work to finish and feet to soak, and I am off to bed early tonight!

Hi everyone. I ran my 5k yesterday. It was great and I still feel great. I was faster this time, but I have to check when they post online to find out my pace. When I run at home I run about 10 min miles. I was unde 29 minutes though for the 5k! yay me!

The apartment saga has gotten longer. emoticon I need to find some really good grease disolver to use on the stove and the wall next to the stove. I was using Scrubbing Bubbles and a very sturdy scrub brush all over the place in that kitchen and ran out. Thankfully I'd already done the bathroom! Also found that we'll need to shampoo the carpet. Too much staining from the door to the living room and around the spot where his recliner sat. So tomorrow our plan is to have a friend from church take the kids so they can play with their friends for several hours in the afternoon while we go clean. Will just be easier for all of us. Tim will do the carpets and I'll work on the kitchen, blinds, wash windows and mop floors. Maegann and I spent two hours over there this afternoon and did make some headway but for such a small place I can't believe how much more work there is to do.

Once home I paid some bills and then decided I'd mow the lawn so I wouldn't have to do it tomorrow. I got done about 7:30 and I'm exhausted. My body is just tired and sore! I put in a good 12 hour day of work.

Off to get school lessons in the computer for the coming week.

D~You're right the "dumb girl *&#" alliances. I too think it will be the cop that brings him and his ego down quickly! I dislike dealing with those little white lies... a phase they all try on for size!

The apartment is empty!!! And what a stroke of luck that our neighbors across the street are having a yard sale today. We took over the furniture we wanted to get rid of and so far the dresser has sold. Hopefully the love seat will go so we don't have to drag it back home. We chose to put the oak entertainment center on Craigs though as we know we can get a bit more for it that way and it is very nice. Thinking I will go over this afternoon and clean just so it is over and done with. The worst part is going to be the two sets of blinds. Hoping the dust will just "brush" off with the vacuum attachment. Then it will be a quick visit with the manager to turn in keys and get the cleaning deposit in hand. I'm ready for this chunk of the "must do's" to be checked off! Tim said he would shampoo the recliner so that it is cleaned up before going over to the new place on Tuesday night.

Had another long night trying to get kids to sleep. I don't know what is going on with Maegann as she just won't get to sleep until almost 11 or later. We start devotions and read 3 books at 8:30 and she can be yawning away and then by the time we're done she's awake. Wondering if we need to switch up our routine somehow. Any ideas? And Isaac...last night he just wouldn't sleep because he'd managed to find a 10 minute nap or so in the afternoon when he was with dh. That's all it takes to throw him off.

I loved survivor, made the time on the bike go so fast. Not just a girl alliance but a "dumb" girl alliance. I think they'll figure it out this week, especially the police officer. She knows something is up with him.

Enjoy your weekend! We have a dance class, church and grocery shopping today. Tomorrow DD16 and I will be attending a college fair. DD6 told her, "Well if you're going to a fair with mom, dad is taking me to the circus." Got to work on her with the little white lies.

Denise~Wasn't Survivor good last night? I couldn't believe that one snake with his girl alliances. I think they are going to figure him out quickly. If they don't, they don't have the smarts to outwit in my opinion. Hooray for you getting on your bike while you watched!

I am so tired tonight and I know it is part of the let down from just being on edge waiting. It's crazy because I knew the answer was going to be yes since God was orchestrating, but until I heard it I must have been clinging to the edge.

Off to watch our tape of So YOu Think You Can Dance auditions. I love that show! And next week we gain Dancing with the Stars and shortly after that Amazing Race.

Thats wonderful Janet. I'm so glad everything worked out with your Dad. My sister just moved in with my grandmother who didn't want to leave her home but she has Alzheimer's and hasn't been taking proper care of herself. My sister stepped in and as she is a single mother, my grandma thinks she's helping her rather than the other way around.

I thought of you last night when I jumped on my bike to watch survivor.

Paperwork all signed and the non-refundable deposit made for the room at the new assisted living place! Whoo Hoo!! I also spoke with the social worker from the current place and they finally had to convince dad to take the anxiety medication as he was just worked up into a tizzy over having to move. Once that calmed him down he was agreeable to the move and understands where he is has always been temporary. Glad I won't have to play hardball with him on this one! So we will be able to move his few furniture items in on Tuesday night and will move him over Wednesday afternoon. I asked for afternoon as I have field trips to coordinate that day with other homeschool families.

Ladies...a HUGE relief for this gal and much PRAISE to God for providing such a nice place. I know it was Him because this is a rare find for Medicaid patients...especially when it is still pending.

Off to finish supper. Roastbeef and homemade mac & cheese (for the kids). Will make a salad and have some fruit to go with it all. I still need to get on the treadmill and plan on it as I need to see the end of Biggest Loser.

Jenn~Sorry so many more tests to come. Sigh.

Had to jump on here quickly to shout out the news. WE GOT PARK PLACE!!! We will move dad on Wednesday whether he likes it or not. I will go over this afternoon and get the paperwork finished with them and hand over the $450 non-refundable fee for his room. Then I can call the social worker at the other place and let them know so we can get his discharge in place. God has been SOOOOOO good in this ladies and I am just praising Him and feeling so relieved all at the same time.

Off to Friday School (homeschool group) for a social day and lunch and then once dh is home I'll head over. Will probably be able to check back in with you all tonight sometime.

The weekend: getting dad's apartment cleared out and hopefully cleaned, mowing the lawn and getting lessons ready for next week.

Dr's visit went well except that I have a giant list of new tests I have to get: bloodwork(done)chest x-ray,colonoscopy, mamogram, stress test and mri. UGH! not to mention I am due at the GYN this month too. Ny BP is still low - 90 over something. More salt and fluids.

waiting on some green tomatoes here too. We are supposed to have a beautiful weekend though which is good because I am doing a 5k on sat and have a wedding on sunday. I think I have a pumpkin on the vine too! Let's hope it grows!

Olga~Sorry the rain isn't letting up. We're still having 80-90s with sun. Supposed to be cooler this weekend so am going to wait on lawn mowing until Sunday afternoon. Can tell Fall is in the air though as the mornings are cooler and the dew is on the grass. They are predicting an early frost for us this year so we'll see...if so my tomatoes are NEVER going to turn. I may see if dh can hang them in the garage this year since we're losing half of it to store my dad's stuff beginning Saturday.

Today is grandma day and nothing is on at the cheap theater so we're just going to stay home and work on things. I may go over to my dad's and get the box of picture albums and take a box over for the canned goods and plates/bowls that I left sitting on the counter. Tim and a guy from church are going to empty it out on Saturday morning after the men's breakfast. Then I can go clean and get the manager to do a check of the place and get the cleaning deposit refunded. I would like to print some more pictures out and scrapbook some too. That's always restful. After the kids are in bed we'll watch Survivor. Yeah! Love that show!

Hi Mommies.

It's raining again here. It has been raining non stop for over a week. It's flooding in a lot of areas, not where I live though. I sure hope it will stop soon. They are promising less rain this weekend. I sure hope so. I know our puppy will love some sun again. She hates the rain.

Have a great Thursday.

Enjoyed Bible study tonight even though I didn't have the entire lesson completed.

No word on the assisted living yet other than both places are talking to each other. Should know this week I am guessing and right now I still feel it will be a "yes."

This afternoon I took the kids with me on a couple of errands and one was heading in the same direction and on the same road that we will take to the care center at times and Maegann's words were "Oh no. Not grandpa's." Sigh. I was thankful I could say, "Nope...going by Dr. T's to pick up some pills." You're right though Cynedra...it isn't a subject that can be dropped as this is part of our life now. I know Maegann is hoping for him to be in the "new place" because it is nicer and smells better. She's right!

Off to watch the finale of America's Got Talent!

Hi Mommies!

Hope you are all doing well. I have been crazy busy again this week at school! These K-2 kiddos are keeping me hoppin'! Never seem to have enough time in a day to get it all done! James played his first soccer game last Saturday. It was great! He actually did very well. Looking forward to the game this Saturday.
James told someone today he loved school! Oh what a relief!! We just completed his first ever fund raiser....selling 27 tubs of cookie dough! UGH!

Well guess I better run; no crawl off and get James into bed!

Take care all of you!

Janet - I went and looked at your pictures - very nice. Interesting with DD - she probably is tired of it all like you, but don't forget to bring it up every once in a while, because we all can change how we feel about things.

Jennifer - Here's hoping the blood tests are a lot better this time. When I went to the Dr a few weeks ago, they didn't do any which I thought was odd. I could have really used a nap yesterday (today too).

Jennifer~Hope you see great improvement with your labs!

Had a fun evening. After supper I headed out with dd to shop for a camera bag, a USB hub and a catfish for the aquarium. I also took her by Sally's and let her pick out a nail polish (big deal since they had been banned for about 6 months after she snuck some out of my room) and after all the errands we went to McD's and she had ice cream while I enjoyed some fries and a Dr. Pepper. Tried to get her to open up about the current grandpa situation. Her response to how are you feeling about all this was "I am tired of it." Me too! LOL

I was able to download the 50 photos I had taken as "practice" with the new camera and they are GREAT!!! I even did a side-by-side with the old camera and new camera and the vividness of the color in the new one is remarkable. The other was just washed out. Amazing. I got some really cute pictures of the kids and once I get them downsized I will post some on here.

Have a great Wednesday!
