I am going to miss the mountains and lakes and all the tall, green trees. But, I am sure September will be also be great. I will see you all on campus.

Denise, congrats on your job.

Christie, hand in there. It will probably take a few weeks, but it will get easier.

Whoa! What a busy 2 weeks I have had. James starting pre-school and soccer and me starting school.
So much going on.

Christie,
I understand where you are. I have no time to get online at school and when I get home it is time for dinner and some time with James and then in the tub for him and off to bed! It should start slowing down here next week. I need a personal para for one of my students and until I get one it is going to be CRAZY! 4 hands can only do so much!

I miss all of you and getting to read what is going on in your lives. Hopefully I will get to catch up soon.
Take care and have a great day!

Ladies: Say a quick prayer for me this weekend.I am so tired that I truly can't stand it. I am at the verge of tears and it is 8 :20 am. I was up past 12:30 am last night doing school work. MIL is here (we asked her to go home early and then felt guilty and then said she and FIL could stay until tomorrow...but they should recognize that I am ready to jump and lose it...but they want what they want)...anyway...I am so tired that I think I will just die.

I miss you all. School starts Monday. Not even there yet!

Thanks! It is exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. It's going to be a big change but I'm feeling motivated. I'll have to find some new clothes. Something in between the mom look and the church look.

I'm glad things are looking up with your dad, Janet. My MIL is still pretty self sufficient at 81 but her house is getting a little much for her. Funny story - she thought she had a mouse and bought a couple different traps at the hardware store. But the traps were being moved, bait nibbled at but nothing was getting caught. She asked to to make sure she was doing it right. I noticed some teeth marks on the bait door, taped it closed and set it for her. At 9:15 PM, she calls and told me to hurry over. (She lives next door.) The problem was the trap was too small. She had a chipmunk in the house. More specifically a chipmunk in the toilet. It was pretty tired from treading water but I got him out of the toilet and out of the house. But I owe Hannah a new butterfly net.

Happy Friday!

Denise~Sounds like the perfect type of p/t job as you can still focus on family! Congrats!

Christie~College huh? Hopefully one with plenty of shade trees so I can lounge around outside of a classroom! LOL

Phoned dad about 7 tonight to see how his afternoon had gone and he actually said "good." Yeah!!! He also drove to the store to get donuts for breakfast and to pay a bill. I talked with him about driving to the Sr. Center for lunch tomorrow and am praying he'll feel up to it. That will do more for him than anything. To be with his friends. I will go over with the kids about 10:30 in the morning to deliver some food items and get the Medicaid paperwork completed and signed so I can drop it off. It will be easier as we already have him in the system for Medicare and this is just the next step for him. Even if he improves we're just going to move in this direction as he can still have freedoms, but having food there, cleaning services and the knowledge that medical personnel are there 24 hours a day will be good for him. Once there we can remove the Medi Alert.

Tonight I plan to try and get my vacation pictures resized and out on our website. I'm behind on that as I don't even have swimming or horse lessons out there!

Does anyone watch Biggest Loser? It's starting mid-Sept and I can't wait. It is my BEST motivator to walk 3x/week as one episode takes me that long to watch.

Cleaning the kitchen, you should be watching Big Brother with me. Wait I should be watching Big Brother.

Well after much debate and prayer I am rejoining the work force part time after more than 16 years as a stay at home mom. I will be working as receptionist/clerk at a doctor's office 2 days a week. The doctor seems very nice and flexible. Even allowing me to leave early one of the days so I can still get Hannah to dance class. Hopefully this will take so of the pressure off DH. He sells cars and although it's been good this month, it's been a very slow year. This position just sort of fell in my lap.

I will still have to work out the girl's cyber school lessons but DH will be able to cover one day and if we have to we'll do some schoolwork on Saturday mornings.

I miss you all! I have no time to get online. My MIL shares the computer with me and has been watching her soap opera at night online as it is preempted with then funeral.

I am so busy that it is not funny. Thanks Lynn for the encouragement. I feel like I am in heck with this new schedule and school starts next week.

September, Janet, we are heading to college! Back to School month! I know we had some suggestions for colleges too! Enjoy our time on the train and on Tuesday...on campus we go!

I have not exercised in a week but am losing weight as I am not at home to eat. One teacher even told me I was "tiny" but of course, it is all relative. This new school needs a Spark People overhall and I might suggest it to some as a good source of healthy advice once I can show them some success.

I will check in tomorrow...time to clean the kitchen at 8:15 am and I will be out for class by 6:30 am.

I need a lemonade! Care to join me?

Dad made it through the chemical heart stress test and I deposited him at his apartment. He still wants to be at my house and that answer is still "no." The test took 3 hours total. Once home I made a lot of phone calls. Got him a Medi Alert necklace from Lifeline ordered (he has a call rope in his apartment but maybe this will calm him down having a MEDICAL one). Only $35/month and he can afford that. Then I phoned on a couple transportation options so he could get to the Sr. Center for lunch each day. Next I phoned Health and Welfare and found out he would qualify for Medicaid due to the need of assisted living. Can I just say a huge WHOOPEE went through the house on that one! That's what he needs and now I see hope. Once I find out how long the process takes I can get him on wait lists. I'll be praying one comes open VERY soon for him.

I took a 30 minute nap this afternoon and then sat down at the computer to pay a few bills and check email.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi everyone,
just an update on the H1N1 virus(swine flu) - as of yet they have not approved a vaccine (from the CDC) they are currently testing and the thought process is you get a vaccine and 21 maybe even 28 dys later you get the booster.
They are still trying to figure the best time to boost. SO... Yes the H1N1 vaccine will be 2.
and you will actually get 3 flu shots the 2 for H1N1 and the one for the "predicted" strain of flu-
As of yesterday the CDC is predicting approx. 90,000 deaths from the flu this year.

Historically the ones most affected by the flu- young children, older adults and anyone with a immunosuppresive disorder ( HIV, CANCER, ect)
Being in the Health Care field - this year I will probably vaccinate my whole family- since I have had the girls I have only gotten the flu vaccine 1x in my whole life- I worked in emergency rooms for 15 yrs and NEVER got sick. the first year I had the girls the doctor said think of the flu shot as protecting your family- so I did the first yr- everyone in my family has been getting it. (not me)

Keep in mind the "regular" flu shot is only a prediction. Last yr everyone got it and RachelRay tested (+) for the flu in March 2 weeks before swine made and appearance- she was ill- fever 105, lost weight over 5 pounds ect...I agree with asking your MD's but you can also go to the cdc web site and inquire about H1N1 as they are calling it -(they do not want to offend the pork industry)I can not cut and paste - the program at work will not allow spark to run - one sec and I will get the right web site for everyone.

olga my son will be 4 in october so I just plan on asking his doc what I should do. We have all been getting flu shots since he was born, but I don't know myself as to what to do except ask our doctors about the swine flu shots.

Hope everyone has a better day today!!

Hi, Moms.

I have a question. Is anyone planning on vaccinating their kids against swine flu this year? Even though we had no problems in my kids' schools last year, 2 school in our district did close for a week because of the outbreak. So, I am starting to think that maybe it might be a good idea. I heard on the news that it's not included in the regular flu shot (that we don't get) and it's actually 2 shots for the vaccine.

Any thoughts?

Olga

Janet~ so sorry your dad (and you) are having difficulty. My mom is chronically ill and I know what a challenge it can be. It's hard to continue your role of daughter in the path you've followed for so long, and the path of caretaker/medical advisor.

Christie~Just keep going... it will get better and easier, may be not tomorrow, but before you realize it.

Olga~ Hope your kids are feeling better, this is always a challenging time of year.

Lu~ Good luck with the new job, whenever it starts. Welcome to the world of school employees.

Candi~ Hope James is continuing to have a great adjustment to school. Hope you do, too.
Happy Fall Mommies...it's coming!

Christie~I'm so sorry you had such a rough day!!! You have just had so much going on with family and all the changes. Wish I was there to take you out for lunch and we could just talk it all out!

Went and bought 2 bushels of pears this morning. The peaches I want won't be in until next week and that works fine for me.

Dad was very nervous again this morning and he actually took the nerve pill. He needs to take it at bedtime though as it will make him sleepy for about 4-6 hours. Wish he'd listen better!! Will call him this afternoon. I am praying he will be able to endure the heart stress test in the morning. I have to have him at the hospital at 7:45 and the test takes about 90 minutes.

I am briefly checking in as I have to get ready to go to class again. I have one ear listening to the baby monitor and another to see if MIL is up yet...she is.

I am exhausted and broke down into tears in my teacher workshop yesterday in front of the new teachers I will work with. I was overwhelmed with so much...missing my old school, missing Nason, math, meeting new people, always being that "new" person...MIL here...etc. I was still crying when I got home. I am getting home late (out at 7:30 am and home by 5 pm) and each day have something to do afterwards. Today we are visiting the preschool. DH will drop Nason off himself on Monday as I have an early meeting at the high school.

I think of you all during the day....and wish I could just jump online and get some love from my friends.

I am here and will have more time to spark next week.

I did lose weight! emoticon emoticon

Olga~Thanks for the goodie and the thoughts. Therein lies the problem....NOTHING physically wrong with him. He is just worrying himself sick. It escalated while we were on vacation and now I don't know if he can back down from it or not. Haven't heard back from the doctor (almost 3 hours now) and I don't know if he is at home or at the hospital. I did check into his new medication for the depression and think that might have caused his issues last night, but he wouldn't listen to me and wait it out until tomorrow. He only took one pill and just started his others so not enough time lapsed to get things straightened out. If he keeps going to E.R. he will be put in the psych ward...again (this is how it went last time).

Been checking on canning peaches and pears this morning so need to figure out what day(s) we want to tackle that and go buy a couple bushel of each. The kids LOVE the assembly line for canning. Went very quickly last year with all of us working on them. Just wish there was an easier way to peel pears. LOL

Well, off to Amy's. Talk to you later.

Janet, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your Dad. My grandmother lived with us until she died so I am little familiar with how hard it is to take care of older people. They are very stubborn.
You can scream any time. If there is nothing wrong with him physically, maybe a therapist might help.

Hope I didn't wake anyone when I went to an empty train car to scream. I finally had to take the phone off ringer as dad just keeps calling. There is NOTHING I can do for him. According to the phone this morning he chose to call 911 again. Ladies, when this all kicked in after my mom died he ended up in a nursing home without phone access as he wouldn't stop calling 911. I am so sad that he is choosing this path when there is NOTHING wrong with him except nerves. Yes, he was having some balance issues but he's in his 80's. He needs to adjust and go forward. Instead he is choosing nerves. He took one of the "nerve" pills and swears it made him groggy so is refusing to take them. I've got a call in to his doctor so will see what they want to do. I don't know of any assisted living places that have gov't assistance and that's what he needs. UGH!!!!!

Maegann's fighting her writing reviews and Isaac is loving every minute of his. Next Tuesday we start full workload so she better get over this! LOL

Going over to Amy's in about an hour or so for our monthly play date and lunch. I am really looking forward to it.

Hi Mommies.

Both of my kids got very frustrated from their first day of school. DS needed some more supplies, so he was upset. Then when DH told him he can't play with the dog and study at the same time, DS heard something totally different. He heard that if he plays with the dog, we will give the dog away.

DD pulled a muscle in dance class last Saturday, but of course, it was more painful yesterday after DS started telling DH about his day first. She wanted to tell about her day first. She also lost her ballet slippers...again. She only had 2 classes this year and they are already gone. I will have to tell her to use her own money to buy new ones. She lost her ballet slippers twice last year. What is it about those shoes that makes her loose them. She is usually pretty good about not loosing anything.

Well, another busy day and night for me. We have nothing for dinner. So, hopefully, I will have time to cook some spicy meat for tacos when I go home at lunch. I know I will not have time to cook after work since DS is trying out a new martial arts place. I want to be there to be sure it's safe. They are putting him in teen/adult class. Wow!!

Boy, I just go on and on, don't I? :)

Have a great day, mommies.

Morning Moms!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far... this train ride has been so relaxing; I'll be sorry to reach the end of the month.

I started a new Wii workout this morning with "My Fitness Coach". It was only 15 minutes, but pretty intense! I'm feeling good!!

LONG day here. Left the house at 8:40 and didn't return until 2:30. Got all my errands accomplished and Isaac's dental appointment (A+ teeth!) and then picked dad up for his doctor appt. Glad they got him in today so he can restart his meds. Doctor also listened to my concerns (they were lengthy when I phoned for the appt) and put dad on a med to calm the nerves. He assured dad it was not a tranquilizer as that was where his mind went with that suggestion. Said we probably won't see the affects of it for 2-3 weeks, but sometimes sooner. I pray sooner!!! After that and the pharmacy we went to lunch at Arctic Circle before dropping him off at the apartment. Will pick him up around 5:00 to come over for supper. I must say I was just shaking my head (inside my head...LOL) when dad kept saying he couldn't walk. You should have seen how fast he walked from the van to the doctor's office. Not a problem or a missed step. It is just his mind and worry setting him back. The doc is going to send him for a stress test on his heart though just so we aren't missing something now that he's had the ream of tests on his brain, etc. Kids are getting a life lesson in what will happen if they allow themselves to be worriers and let their fears take over. Sigh.

Once home I went through a weeks worth of mail and then cleared my desk off and found the writing review stuff for the kids. That's done and I'm about to set them in front of a video while I walk. My "Designing Women" DVDs arrived so I have the first two seasons (those were my favorite episodes vs. the later ones). I also noticed last night while watching America's Got Talent that "Biggest Loser" is starting on Sept. 15. That is my favorite walking tape! Takes me 3 days to watch one episode and it is good motivation to stay on the machine!

I think I'm going to go get a cherry lemonade and watch the view of those beautiful Canadian mountains. Anyone care to join me?

Hi all,

Whew... I'm glad the party weekend is over - BIG party Saturday for my niece & nephew. Had several margaritas (blew my calories for sure!!) and a couple shots of tequila. NOT my normal habit. Then a beach day on Sunday with the family and some friends. My niece flies back to Portland today so we're all sad and missing her already.

We're starting E. on her school schedule this week so it won't be so hard next week when school starts. She's not looking forward to wearing shoes and socks... she's been barefoot or in flip-flops all summer.

Hi ladies.

My kids started school today. DD woke up at 5:00 all excited. DS woke up last minute, didn't eat anything and kept complaining about school until he left. I can not believe how totally different my 2 kids are.

We are going back to "no TV until 8:00" rule. I am also going to try to go back to not sitting until everything done, which includes walking on treadmill.

Got home about 7:30 last night and have been going strong and steady ever since. This afternoon I managed to mow the lawn (2 hours) and go grocery shopping. This evening I worked on putting receipts in the computer. Now I'm finally checking email while the kids get to sleep and then we're going to watch our tape of America's Got Talent from last week.

Came home to a dad that is worrying himself sick. Ugh! Guess he spent most of his week either at the doctors office or E.R. He is just panicking and nobody can make him see that. I have to make an appt. for him for Mon or Tues and plan to go with him as I want to hear what the doctor says AND I plan to suggest prior to the appt that the doctor read through his notes from the first visits as we are seeing the beginnings of what we saw after my mom died and dad nose dived to depression. So what did all his medical trips show.... a bacterial infection. Hmmmm and he wants to be hospitalized! Yeah, right! We will get him back on some of his regular meds and I think he'll be doing better. Doc took him off because he was constantly complaining.

Tomorrow I take ds to the dentist, pick up some vitamins for dh, stop at the bank and the post office to make deposits and pick up our collected mail. Busy morning! Also need to start the kids with their writing reviews and we will begin full school on 9/1.

Good to be home and I look forward to catching up with everyone.

Hi all, just wanted to pop in for a moment. Keeping up with the market has kept me busy, plus I'm going to be teaching a home canning class next month that I have to prep for.

The boys had a good first week of school.

To all of you starting school this week, good luck. Christie, I'm sure you'll get things figured out.

Candi: Kids come on a Monday? Did you have a day back at school for just teachers? I went through my IEP's last night and came up with 25 questions. I don't have anyone to ask about them since the lady I replaced is now a new 4th grade teacher and naturally very busy and there is no team chair. I guess the school psychologist should be able to help? I will have to seek out the other Sped teachers as well. It seems like they just expect me to start and do well without much guidance...don't want to complain yet to principal so might as if they can find me a mentor in the building. It is all test and IEP questions and I have to figure that out.

All is well with MIL here, just tiring having my schedule all mixed up, but start with full time classes tomorrow, a math workshop (yawn).

It is harder to get to the computer than I thought! I am trying to eat less since I can't exercise while I have visitors, although I might get up at 5:30 am tomorrow to do a stretch workout....that might work for me. My MIL is working hard to keep up with Nason and I will try to eat less.

So...who starts school this week?

James had a great first week of pre-school. I am so very proud of my boy! Right now we are trying to nurse a sick hermit crab. The crazy thing left one shell and is not getting into another one! He is still alive (barely?) which amazed me!

Looks like a beautiful day here it is only 58 degrees so far! Great weather for Missouri in August!

Just going to have to read posts another day to catch up as I don't have a lot of time. I'm on the lobby computer at Motel 6 in Vernal, Utah.

We went to a fun kid place before leaving CO and the family today. Drove to Dinosaur Nat'l Monument (outside Vernal) and spent several hours this afternoon walking and driving around there. Will go back first thing in the morning to go to the actual digging site. Was just too hot today (96 at the visitor center and 115 at the dig site). We came to the hotel and swam in the pool before going to Burger King AND McDonalds (separate orders from the kids!) and bringing our dinner to the hotel.

We will drive all the way home tomorrow after finishing at the dig site. Figure it will be a good 8-9 hour drive and we should be home about 6:30. yEAH! I'm ready and so is everyone else.

Had a great time though! Monday we'll begin writing review with the kids and we'll delve into "real" school on Sept. 1st.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend! I'll catch up again tomorrow night or Sunday for sure!

Hi all.

I just popped in to wish you all a wonderful weekend. I usually don't have time to get on the computer on the weekends, but this one going to be busier than usual. We are having my father's birthday party at our house. I love to throw parties. No matter how tired or bad I feel, I can always throw a party. I totally love it.

This is going to be the last weekend before school, so we have to get everyone organized and we promised out kids Harry Potter movie before school starts.

I am off from work in a few minutes to start my marathon weekend. Have a great one, Mommies.

Hi everyone,

I've been too busy go get online the past few days, so haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posts. Hope things are good with everyone and school/preschool is going well. E. starts 1st grade Sep 2nd... we still have to get all her supplies organized. Her uniforms are in order... one thing down.

Tomorrow we have a party at my sisters' for both her kids birthdays - my nephew is moving to Canada next month and my niece (turning 21) is home for her birthday from Portland OR. My sister is really feeling the empty nest... not looking forward to having them both gone, especially when they're too far away to visit regularly.

I probably won't be online much this weekend, so have a terrific one, ladies!!!

I have been so tired that I could fall asleep anywhere! MIL arrives tomorrow for nine days. I also found out that I have my training classes for five days next week not four. As a teacher, I am responsible to set up my classroom during the summer, but how do I do that when I am in class somewhere else? I am disappointed because I was going to devote one day to setting up but will go after my class at 3:30 pm. So...if I don't post as much for awhile, it is not that I don't want too...just not home.

I am going to start a new 10 day challenge! I can't exercise while MIL is here, so the only thing I can do is to stay within my calorie range...a challenge enough!

I completed a goal for the month which was to get up to 3 miles on my runs. I ran slow and steady and had company so it wasn't so bad. It was VERY humid still last night at 7:15, but down to about 80 degrees. By the time I got back it was starting to get dark. I went for a nice cool swim and was joined by several bats swooping down and around! I don't mind them, but I would prefer not to get bonked in the head by one of them!

Happy friday to all!

just an update the last 4 I talked to at work (not MD's) 1 has already had the vaccine some minor complications. the other 3 have dd's not old enough. they think they are going to wait until a little more info has been published. one is a grand parent who is adamant her Gdd receive it.

Thank you all for your input regarding HPV vaccine. DD is only 10, so I will also wait for more studies to see how it goes. I really don't predict any big problems in the future, but I don't think there is any reason to rush at this point.

Candi, you reminded me of my son's soccer game when he was 3. He was really tired and just walked off the field during the game. If was really funny. I was so shocked. I don't think he got the point of all players playing during the game. :)

I had a lazy day yesterday. I forgot to do any exercise. OOPS! My friend came over so we were chasing babies all day so at least I was up and moving (aren't I always?). Tonight is a planned run, hopefully with company. I am going to try for 3 miles which would bring me to complete one of my goals for the month. Yippie!
Have a great day everyone! keep sparking!

Good evening Mommies!
Hope all is well with all of you and your families!

Day 2 of pre school...another fun day. He did say today "Mom you know work can be fun". Very happy to hear that.

Soccer practice was eventful.
A boy kicked the ball and it hit James on accident as he was walking off the field to get a drink. You could see James puff out his chest and turn to face the boy like he was going to tackle him!
FOOTBALL is definitely going to be our sport! He is so aggressive i am worried about him.

Tomorrow it is back to school for real and the students start on MOnday. I am as ready as I will ever be.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the night.

My DD16 actually participated in the HPV research study through our pediatrician's office when she was 10-11. We didn't know if she had the vaccine until after the study was complete. She did receive it and has had no problems to date.

Olga,
Our district really promotes the love and logic, too. It's a hard pill to swallow allowing your child to fail when you know they could do "it" if they applied themselves, but the truth is.. would I rather she miss out on an accelerated class in 7th grade, and become embarrassed and decide on her own to to get straight As? or push and prod her through and have her fail in HS or College. It is a good program.
Everyone interested:
Re: HPV virus... my sis is an OB/GYN she intends to have her daughters vaccinated (ages 9 and 7) when the vaccine has been tested longer. She advised me to have my daughters (ages 13 and 11) vaccinated, but to wait as we are very sure they are not and won't be sexually active in the next year. She said if she had a 16 year old she would do it now, but time can only make it better. My pediatrician(s) supported this approach

Sis says the biggest issue is parents worrying that giving the vaccine can be seen as approval of sexual activity. She says "I don't approve of tetanus but I still get vaccinated against it". It's not only your kid but whomever their partner winds up to be later in life... and his history. Just passing along a doc's perspective.

Have a great day/weekend we'll be off the grid til Monday, most likely.

Happy Wednesday ladies! We are in the process of moving houses (from Tim's sisters to his mom's) as BIL and family are gone now. The downside...no computer/internet. I do have a key to SIL's though so will try to sneak over and check the next couple of days. I think we may try to leave on Friday and take two days to get home. Just a nicer day on everyone. I'm ready although we're having a nice time.

Took the kids to mini golf this morning and it was soooo hot. We had to stop after 10 holes to go buy drinks. Drank those down and then filled up at the water fountain. Most of us adults opted out the last half and BIL took the three kids that wanted to finish. Much quicker that way! Then we went to Chik Fil A for lunch. Had a salad but forgot and put croutons on it...hit wrong! Ugh!

My wrist is doing better but still not 100%. Fingers numb off and on.

I liked the "article" on homework. Even though we homeschool there are some good tips on just regular school work practices and my involvement.

For the Mommies that don't know, I am a true "Love and Logic" believer. It's a program that my kid's elementary school counselor turned me on to and I really like the logic behind it. I received an e-mail that I would like to share since it's the beginning of school year.

One mother said it well: "I'm tired of doing battle every evening over spelling words, long division, and book reports. I thought I was done with this sort of homework when I graduated from school!"

Listed below are some time-tested tips for helping your child with homework:

Help only as long as there is no frustration or anger.

When homework becomes associated with negative emotions, it's no surprise that kids start to view learning as a real drag.

Help only as long as your child is working harder than you are.

Say, "I'll be happy to help you as long as you're working harder than I am."

Avoid sitting with your child when they are about to "get it."

Many kids come to believe that they can only learn new thingsor "get it"if an adult is guiding them every step of the way. Explain this by saying, "Part of my job as your Mom is to help you see that you can learn without me. That's why there will be times when I let you work by yourself."
Thanks for reading!
Dr. Charles Fay

I can tell you the mom lizzie is glad she made the choice not to - she had not heard about this until this morning-her dd is 11 and just went to the MD today and they recommended 4 vaccines- she opted for 2 today and told them she'd think about the others. lisa has a dd to young but she is going to anyway. me uhmmmm I've got to see more studies mine are young but the studies are pretty controversial have 4 more to talk to and will let you all know the outcome- wait till I see some of the OB/GYNS then I can really let you know the "inside" scoop...lol

I am glad that I decided to wait. Since DD is only 10 and recommendation is up to 26, I am in no hurry. Maybe we can wait for few more studies before we decide. But, since you all in the hospital, let us know how the debate goes.

Hi, ladies. I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday.

I remember a few months ago, we talked about HPV vaccine for our daughters. MY DH found this article that I would like to share. It's just more information on the subject.

must just be in the stars...

lots of hugs going out to everyone.

I was having one of those TOM/it's way too hot out for me moody nights last night. I made myself go for a run even though I really didn't want to and it was still hot and sticky out. When I can back I was so hot I stretched my hamstrings and then jumped straight in the pool. I relaxed in the pool for about 5 minutes and went inside to put the kids in bed with DH.
I felt like a whole new person! It was about 30 minutes of "me " time. Not exactly the way I would have wanted to spend it, but EXACTLY the way I needed to spend it.

Goodness but our LIL Mommies have had quite a day! Hugs to those who need them. High fives to those with successes.

Hubbies and kiddos returned about 3 this afternoon from camping. All had a great time. Maegann received an injury this morning on her right hand "ring" finger. Cut it on some metal under the seat of Uncle's truck seat. Pulled the pad off a bit. Guess it really bled and boy is it hurting! Otherwise...great memories. Especially of the black bear that the girls saw. Guess they ran screaming bloody murder. Guessing the bear ran just as fast the other way from the shrieks!

The birthday party was fun tonight. Isaac isn't officially five until the 29th though. The construction cake turned out very cute and he loved it. He received some nice gifts from everyone.

Tomorrow we will be going to play mini golf before the uncle/aunt/cousins head back to Denver after lunch. This will be completely new to our kids.

Thursday we're going to take a drive over the CO National Monument (I miss that place...I had a favorite overlook I'd drive to when I was single when I needed a good cry.). And at this point we probably will head home on Friday. I think everyone will be ready.

Off to join you and the cabana boys!

Here is the report from James on pre-school:
We prayed a lot in a room with God on a cross(he is going to a Catholic pre school)
We sang lots of songs and danced.
Nothing negative thank goodness. Said he ate all of his lunch. He said it was fun.
He is very tired and a little cranky. They had rest time but James said he did not go to sleep.
Now we are off to our first soccer practice!

You know I think as moms we all have those days when nothing seems to go right and all we do is yell and end up crying! I am so thankful to have you all there to listen and provide support for whatever life throws my way.
THANK ALL FOR ASKING ABOUT OUR DAY!
Off to get dressed for practice!

Christie, hugs. All kids have bad days. They just don't know how to express their feelings or log on to SP and share the frustration. You will look back on this and laugh someday. I promise.

I don't mind one of those drinks. I like sweet drinks where I don't taste the alcohol.

emoticon emoticon emoticon back to losing it...and eating teddy gram's from the box!

Started my day with nason throwing the entire roll of toilet paper in the toilet, progressed to Nason swinging his safety gate too far and almost breaking it off the hinges, followed by Nason throwing his wet body (straight from the pool) complete with swim shoes onto my bed.

I need a drink emoticon , where is that cabana boy when you need them?

Hi all,

If you ask me, the problems we face are universal or nearly anyway. Every once in a while you meet someone (or more likely read about someone) who does everything perfectly. That is definitely not the case here. For example, today is "L"s 4th birthday. I baked cupcakes to take to daycare. Was up late doing that, and frosted this morning - the frosting turned out horrible. Yelled at the kids getting into the minivan, left them in a minute while I went back to get the cupcakes out of the house. We have sandhill cranes in the neighborhood, and "L" was in tears when I got back because the birds were going to get him. Set the cupcakes on the front floorboard - they were wrapped up in a pan and foil. Got halfway there and my purse slid off the seat and, yep, you guessed it, right on top of the cupcakes. My turn to be in tears. "L" was concerned over my crying and then proceeded to tell me that when he starts his new school (9/01) that I will have to leave my purse at home when we take cupcakes. Tomorrow is their last day where they are currently going and only "L" will be doing the new school for 3 hours a day. He's excited - I'm frightened. The new place isn't as relaxed as the current place (which is good) but I don't know how well "L" is going to do.

Diet is not going well. Just too much celebrations lately and left overs from same. Now, I need to go work on "L's" cake for tonight.

Have a good day all.

P.S. I'm wishing I was in Colorado on vacation, but these Canadian rockies aren't bad.

My Goals: 10% at a time.

OH Christie,
you make my heart break- maybe he has you on the wrong dose of BCP-
TRY BEING INFERTILE AND HAVING TO TAKE BCP because the changes menopause brings on - is way to early for your body- I take them because at 34 I was dx'd with ovarian failure. due to being "young" they kept me on hormones so I would not "suffer" the symptoms of menopause so young- ( also bone density ect ) not just cycles- I have not had a cycle in years unless I forget a BCP. but maybe trying a lower or differnt dose may help- girlfriend sure helped me with my carzy mood swings.....

I love emoticon reading about how we all spend our days. It makes me feel better to see that my stresses seem to be universal.

I did get some sleep last night and that makes the world look like a better place today.

TOM is here and I think the hormones have been bothering me. I tried birth control pills this month and whether it was psychological or not, they bothered me a lot...acne, itching, just feeling down and irritable and then a TOM that was a bit different. I am going to see if I can stop them. Being bascially infertile, the thought of birth control pills also irritates me too! But...I do feel better...thanks for all your support!

Time to head to the dining car for something to drink. emoticon
