Yes, I put the scraps in the recycle bin.

Sewing room. Shared excess elastic with a friend, thread and material with daughter of a friend. DH wants a different collar on a sport shirt.

Hope you threw away the scraps.
I threw away some old cold medicines, cleaned the hallway, and shredded a drawer full of paperwork yesterday. Since today is Sunday, I hope to get thru the magazine pile so that I don't have to deal with them next week in the living room cleaning.

I have a couple word games I play and many times find a word that I've never seen (sometimes it's just a variant spelling), so I write it down on a scrap of paper. I finally got all those papers together and listed them on a document, then proceeded to look up the definitions and alphabetize them as I went. It took all afternoon and into the evening. For an English teacher, I'm feeling like I should've spent a lot more time in the dictionary! emoticon

Dining room done---just need to find homes for the stuff I piled on the table in there. Already have idea where most will go but had an event last night to go to so it will get done today. Then I think it will just be the small hallway today.

Pat, always a good thing to get that exercise in--much more important for you body not to pass up on a chance for a walk. It sounds like you made some progress before you did anyhow.
I cleaned out the fridge, then lined it with Pioneer Woman fridge liner I had bought several months ago---so that is no longer cluttering my counter waiting to be put down. My fridge is much more colorful inside now. And I did not find any science experiments---LOL
Started in the dining room with clearing off the dining room table so I can empty the china cabinet and really clean that today. Hoping to get that done before I go to tea--invited by a friend so hope to enjoy some time socializing with her today.

Did a general pick-up in the bedrooms, living room and kitchen. Washed sheets, cleaned grill, ran the dishwasher. I did get the photos in boxes and put back on the shelf. I think Son #1 thought his brother was coming soon thereafter and would want to continue the process, but he had texted that he wouldn't be over till after the holiday weekend.
Rather than tidy, I went for a walk with my friend down the street and came home to finish my novel. Last night I did a good bit of typing, listing current information. Good to have that done.

Pat, next time remind him to put the things back where he found them.
Ann, use your laundry baskets to put stuff in, then tackle them after your guests are gone. You will be more likely to do it if you need your baskets back---LOL
Still haven't tackled the fridge---hope to today if dh would get his butt in gear and get out of the kitchen so I can work in there---I like to do it early as the kitchen warms up in the afternoon from the sun. Might start the dining room if I get it done early enough.

I have company arriving tomorrow for a multi-day visit, so today I need to get the spare room ready so I can sleep in there while they stay in my bedroom. It sure doesn't take long for the clutter to pile up does it? The house was neat and tidy back in April, the last time guests stayed over. As usual, my method is going to be chucking things in closets and the basement and hoping for the best!

Ann, funny how we find other uses for things. As we have no need of wine storage, I used a hinged wine rack in the bathroom and stored rolled hand towels in it. Cute and handy.

My son was over last week and began sorting through Grandma's photos. He left piles and boxfulls on the dining room table. I'd better try and put those away before the cleaning women come.

Good organizing---and makes more sense to have it at eye level.
Worked more on the kitchen yesterday. Added a couple of glasses to the give away pile. Probably work on the dining room today---only thing left in the kitchen is the fridge but we have an appointment this morning and it gets too warm in the kitchen in the afternoon to do much, so will do that tomorrow.

Yesterday - I put together a wooden shoe cubby to use in the basement as wine bottle storage. Worked great! Just fits on top of a dresser, and now all the bottles are stored properly on their sides and at eye level for easier selection. Before they were on the bottom shelf of a plastic shelving unit. The shelf was an open grid, so other water bottles, etc that didn't have flat bottoms kept tipping over, and knocking over the wine bottles like bowling pins. Now all the water bottles and other mixers are on top of the shoe cubby. The bottom shelf of the unit is now empty and I'm probably going to store long term storage items down there.

Decided to get rid of a couple of pots---probably could get rid of a few more---maybe next year---LOL Also got 3 plants that were still in pots into the ground.
Today is Sunday so I probably won't do anything today, then back to the next section of the kitchen on Monday.

Pat, sounds like that room needs a good purge---be honest---do you really want to repair all those things are would it just be better to get rid of them.
Finished up the one wall of cabinets and moved on to the next section---got rid of a bit more yesterday and found one dish to donate.
Have gd today so doubtful I will do much cleaning/decluttering today----going to see Toy Story 4 at the theater.

It's too rainy to walk outside today. Sequestered, I guess I should go downstairs and start plowing through the sewing room. So much to repair and very little room to move around. Husband huffed and puffed because I brought some of the clothing into the family room, so he dragged it back in and dumped it. I was not pleased.

Kitty, good for you!
Threw away a whole trash can full of outdated stuff from my cupboards. I didn't get to the outside of the cabinets but got all the drawers done, cleaned, and reorganized. Now on to the other cabinets once the outside is polished on that side---usually moves quicker in the dishes area because I don't have to go thru each item, just move them out, wash the cabinets and let them dry, then put it back.

I moved some small totes and boxes from brother's house to his storage unit. Moved some more bricks from his yard to my yard. After that, emptied the car and vacuumed it so I can go on a day trip on Saturday. Hope to do some more tidying later, but this is supposed to be my "off" day. No such thing!

Laundry area cleaned and decluttered---dh found that 2 bins back there needed to go to the basement--yippee! and I got rid of a few things in the cabinet, too. Then I moved on to the kitchen food cabinets---got about half of the upper ones cleaned, reorganized, and a few things gone from there.
Today is a fun day---going out to lunch with a friend and some retail therapy planned.

Lots done yesterday-paper piles gone, counters straightened and cleaned, outside patio and deck swept clean of debis and weeds pulled out there, dusted and washed up blankets from the couch, and even went thru my mom's old bible to look at the clippings there. Even with all I got done, I still had time to enjoy the back deck and the front porch in the lovely weather we were having.

Glad someone wanted that! I would have been quite unhappy to receive geese anything---the Canadian geese around here have polluted the waters and the ground and very annoying---I don't even think their babies are cute anymore---just want to run them over! LOL

Lecates, so funny that you said that. I have a distinct issue with geese. In fact, I believe I blogged about that many years ago.
When those white geese with blue bows were in fashion, I had a relative, who shall remain nameless, who bought so many 'geese' items that when you opened her front door you felt like you were hearing HOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
They grated on my nerves SOOOO SOOOOO badly that it became a huge pet peeve of mine.
Well, people began to discover this and I began getting 'garage sale finds' of geese delivered to me one way or another. They just wouldn't go away. Then those turned into ducks and ducklings (now DUCKLINGS are cute, I must admit). But anyway, a neighbor, church friends, and my sisters all began pulling tricks on me. We have accumulated so many hilarious Geese Stories as we were all sneaking onto each others' properties trying to get rid of the geese.
( in fact, this goose project might actually be one that my mom was going to pull on me. It has 7 geese on it, and it might have been made when I had my 7th child. I'm wondering if it was going to be a gag gift that she just didn't get done. SHE certainly didn't decorate with geese, except for the stone one outside. But she knew I hated them. That little stinker.)

But back to my geese quilt hanging. I sat down last night to watch some Waltons episodes with my 13 yr old and she exclaimed, "AWWWW, you're FINISHING THAT ????"
She seemed so pleased.
I did manage to finish it, and I walked right over to her and 'gifted' it to her. She was quite happy.
Problem solved. haha Phew!

My 'decluttering' project is completing a sewing project that my mom had started. Because I'm finishing it, that means the large 'project box' in the craft room will slowly but surely dwindle down and I can get rid of that annoying box.

I already fixed a cloth rabbit my mom had made for each of her daughters on Easter (even though we were adults, lol) It needed an arm sewn back on. So I fixed that.
Then I saw that it's two legs looked kinda loose. So I fixed that.
Then the dress that it used to wear had been thrown away after being torn, so I replaced it with a baby nightgown and attached it permanently to the rabbit.
Then I noticed an eye needed a thread trimmed off. Fixed that.
Then, I noticed someone had tied string around a leg and an arm (don't know why), so I cut those off.
I THINK I'm finished.

Today, I am finishing a quilted wall-hanging of 7 geese taking a walk, one pointing the opposite direction of the others.
I don't really want it, but I don't know what to do with it when I'm done!

Other projects in that box include:
A lamp I want to rewire. (the lamp shade is stacked up high in my genealogy room. lol)
A child's stool that I want to make copies of and give to each of my sisters. (We used this stool in the bathroom when we were growing up.)
Mend my 16th birthday quilt that my grandma made me.
Complete a braided rug I began years ago.
A crocheted red-checked blanket I began a couple of years ago.

There's probably more in that box, but that's what comes immediately to mind.
I am determined to defeat my procrastination side of me and Follow Through this summer!

But as for now,
Goose today, Gone tomorrow!

Char, congrats on needing new clothes---hope you don't have to go in your birthday suit to shop---LOL
Maranatha, good reason ---hope you enjoy your company.
The weather was wonderful yesterday and I am feeling so much better since I got the shots in my hips, I tackled the weeding and cleaning out of my pea bed. Everything got done and I got the bulbs and seeds out of my house and into the ground yesterday so that is less clutter from the inside.
I also have put away a lot of stuff off my dining room table---more to do but one thing is an old bible that I want to go thru and get all the clippings out of and decide what to keep---maybe a project for today---but that is a maybe ----need to be in the mood for it.

Tackling the closets.

It finally feels like summer and non of my summer clothes fit!
Tried on a bunch of things but have to donate it all emoticon

Going shopping tomorrow.

I have been donating at leat one box or bag a week, and throwing away junk until garbage is full. Feels great to get rid of everything!

Getting ready for my big clean when school lets out---that's when I really get into getting rid of more stuff. But right now I am slowly working on getting the miscellaneous stuff off my dining room table.
My desk also needs some attending to. And I did clean off some of my school desk area yesterday.

My big clutter project is to get my 'office' in order (desk area). I have soo much mail. My goal is to work on it, at least, 20 mins a day. I worked on it 2 days last week, but I haven't yet this week. I want to before I go to bed tonight. What project are you working on?

A couple loads of laundry and cleaning out my email inbox today while we all rested after a wonderful Mom's day dinner.

I need to tackle by front porch and get the pollen swept off and things wiped down out there. Maybe I can start on that today.
