Poor you:(

Keeping the rice up, and remember to do lots of stretching and strengthening when you are all healed up.

Thank you - I'm waiting for the cortisone shot I got 3 days ago to kick in and do SOMETHING! :)

Cole771 - I'm so sorry to hear about your toe! Not fun!

My ankle is on the mend. It's still sore and there is lots of stretching and massaging and icing after a run, but I'm back up to 25 minute runs and it's getting stronger and better. I'm holding at W7 for a while just to let it get stronger and heal before adding on more time, but there is a lot of improvement each day and it no longer hurts all the time. Always a bonus! emoticon

I hope your toe is better soon and you're back to running!

Sorry about your injury! I'm side-lined too but it's related to my toe - no running for almost 6 weeks now! Grrrrr! I'm riding my bike but it's not the same.
Take care of your ankle and hope you're back to normal soon!

Thank you all so much for the encouragement!

There is improvement today, and I think I'm probably doing all the right things (RICE) and hopefully it will be fully healed shortly.

LightningRunning - no twist. There really was no single thing that happened that I can pinpoint so it leads me to think it's simply from pushing too hard. It went from a little pain to a big pain in a day. I really should have listened to my body.

Just a thought could you have twisted your ankle at any point. If so, be extra carefuly before starting to re-run

Definitely take it easy, follow the RICE routine and like you said, if it continues - see the dr. Don't play around with it or you could injure yourself further.

Take Care,

Take it easy - ice it definitely - it is swollen, if so - take some Advil to help take down the swelling. Sounds like tendon issues.

Well, I'm joining the sidelines for a little bit - I did something to my ankle. With my right foot flat on the floor, if I flex my foot so just my toes and ball of the foot come off the ground (heel remains planted) it hurts directly behind and a little above my outside ankle bone). Anyone ever have this happen?

If it goes longer than a few days, the doc will be called, but I am hoping it's just a matter of just pushing too hard. "RICE" is in full effect and hopefully I will rejoin you all shortly - I was right in the middle of W7. emoticon
