Since my e-mail is a yahoo id, apparently they had some kind of issue and reported my address as being invalid, so Sparkpeople had set the checkbox to "never email me again". Make sure on the Start page, click the account/email preferences link on the top left side, pick the e-mail tab, and scroll down. That checkbox is at the very bottom, right above the Save My Email Preferences button.

Once that's unchecked... my e-mails started coming again!

Looks like this is the last day for this thread... time for the Advent Season and December. And mother nature is welcoming it in with Big White Flakes here. I'm safely home from work now, and hope tomorrow will have cautious drivers and safe roads.

emoticon Lit my candles this morning. And my tree lights. It's that time of year!

Had the same problem awhile back and I've heard others too. I tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing to everything. So far it's working.

Year 10 *is* hard to believe, Connie! Vibes to the family who will be surviving without him "at home" for resilience and strength for that time away.

And once again, a Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Thanks everyone. Vet also said she had evidence of kidney failure.

I am so thankful for our vet which made the whole process a little easier.

Do have a Happy Thanksgiving...

I love you all. So excited for Joel and his family. People love the West Coast.

Hugs to all, Sunny

I forgot to mention that Joel just received new orders. He and his wife and kids will be stationed on the west coast, state of Washington..(near Nellie?). Jan Joel will be going, ship bound, to who knows where while my DIL and kids stay back in WA, I believe they will be there for 4 years, not sure how long Joel will be away. He is now beginning year 10, hard to believe!
Have a great run on Thanksgiving, Barb, but be safe! Hugs

Awww! So sorry about Miss Gracie, Sunny. What a lovely group for the Holiday.

Connie, good to see you! You have not been forgotten, either!

I'm supposed to be running a half marathon out of Pickrell, Nebraska, Thanksgiving morning at 8... we shall see whether road conditions make that wise or not (about a 40 mile drive). Dinner will be out with quite a collection of family: two sisters, brother in law, niece and nephew, and my own son and me. Another sister dropped something to pass around in my mailbox yesterday... haven't opened it yet, but since she's our family historian, I kind of expect it will be related to that.

The historian sis will be winging her way to have the holiday with one of her daughters, son in law, and grandchildren. So that's pretty much the rest of the in-town crew... and we are doing it the "easy" way... at a restaurant. My mom and aunt introduced this way of doing the holidays when everyone is busy. Works for me. And bonus: no leftovers!

Hope all here have a fine holiday. If your service members are away, may you hear from them, and may they all be safe.

Which reminds me, of interest to this team... son has put me on notice that likely once he gets his grad degree, he'll be looking at active duty, going back in as an officer. Meantime, we have to get him through school the rest of the way. Bachelors comes next May. Apps for grad school have been submitted, it's all a waiting game at this point.

Hi Team.

Sorry I have not been around. I have been busy getting ready for company. All three boys will be here for Thanksgiving along with my DIL's Mother and a woman from Church. There will be 11 of us and so thankful we can all be together.

Our gray cat, Miss Gracie, has been ill so we took her to the vet yesterday. He found a huge tumor in her abdomen so we chose to have her put down rather than have her in pain. Regardless, it was a tough day for us. Ugh...

Do have a Happy Thanksgiving. I am off to get some things done. Love you all.

Sunny

Good to see you here and I am with you on going back to May. Where oh where has this year gone.

So good to hear Lacy is doing better. Grief is different for everyone and the person grieving has to work it out the best they can. Bless her heart.

Anne & her family in ND. Wow! Yes, 4 hours is close. Praying that all goes well for them.

Glad you like your job. How is the arthritis? I started taking Turmeric Curcumin with BioPrine and it is really helping. I got mine on Amazon. It is made by Every Pure. I just started on it last week and my pain is so much better.

Take care and do have a GREAT week. Good to hear from you.

Maybe THAT'S it! I haven't gotten notices of anything in over a week! Didn't really "notice" it, but then I did.

HI all!!! November is half over and I am NOT ready for the holidays to begin. Can we please back up to like..................May 1st?!? Don't wanna do it over, just want it to change.

We're doing "okay".
Lacy's actually doing okay. Her posts are a bit more positive. Not that morbid, overly-sad stuff. Looking to the future, while remembering the past. It's a good thing. Kolten's doing great in Kindergarten.
Anne, Caddie and Hunter just surprised the heck outta us and moved to ND with Hunter's dad. He EAS'd on November 2 (Caddie's 3rd birthday, as a matter of fact) and he bought a house with some land southwest of Fargo. He asked them to come, made her some promises and assurances and she's taking him at his word. Ex-wife doesn't allow him to see his daughter anyway, so he saw no reason to stay on the East Coast. Four hours isn't as bad as 22, so we're trying to be grateful and hopeful. We'll be here to pick up the pieces, if necessary, but we are really hoping that it doesn't become necessary.
Fred's mom is going downhill, but still hanging on. It's so sad for Fred to see her failing. He's doing his best to stay positive, but it hurts. He's not sure what he's going to do in the meantime. He's almost 60, hasn't worked steady for the last two years, while taking care of his mom and he can't find anything. So, that's an additional frustration. Eeek!
I'm doing great, so to speak. Love my job, got the official title to go with it. Handling "things" fairly well. Still have days when I have to remind myself that Shawn really is gone. It's bizarre. Hits like a brick! But, then I pretty much move on. Shawn shows himself pretty regular to any one of us now. Coolest thing was right before Halloween, when Caddie actually saw him, at the condo. Anne called and said, "Um yeah, Caddie's talking to Shawn right now. He's in our kitchen and he bumped him head." !?!?!?!?! Wow! And he stayed for quite awhile. She took him in to see Hunter and then they played in her room for about an hour! She saw him several times over the next couple days and was able to tell Lacy all about it on Halloween night. She cried, but happy tears. She told Caddie to say hi to Uncle Shawn the next time she saw him and tell him how much we all missed him and Caddie actually said, "oKAY!" hehehe......

I feel so bad for you, Connie. I pray that God's peace and love surround you while you deal with all the stuff surrounding your dad.

Anyway, you're caught up and I'm going to go check my notice settings! Love ya!

I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. Thank You to all our Veterans.

DH is going to be part of our Veteran's Day Service at Church tonight. We have a Retired Army Major coming from NY that will be our guest speaker so looking forward to that.

Good job on the walk, Wilma. It has been warmer here but nice. Today, we have a storm headed our way and I just pray it is not as severe as they are saying it might be.

Take care and be sure and Thank a Vet!

Hi everyone. Hoping everyone is doing ok. Continuing to send prayers your way Connie. Praying you find some comfort.

I finally did a 5K this weekend after a VERY LONG rest period. Went with some sparkfriends and it was a very relaxing walk. We ended up walking 9.5 miles and we just couldn't believe it. A little more and we could have done the 1/.2 marathon. Maybe next year.

How is the weather in your area. Hear it is a bit warmer than usual. We are receiving more rain than we need but it should calm down soon.

Have a great evening everyone.

Very grateful to all of our veterans and praying for those who continue to serve.

Hi, team... sorry, something happened with my Spark Mail... and I got unsubscribed from EVERYTHING including notifications on message board topic creation, and updates. Wondered why things were so quiet, but it's fixed now. For now.

So sorry for your loss, Connie, and sending prayers as people go away and you are left as a family to deal with it.

Hoping in this month of Veteran's Day, knowing that all military families have face challenges associated with our service members' missions, I send extra prayers for us all, and especially for those who are actively serving, in harms' way.
