one advantage of the keto-mojo is it has an app that connect to meter, stores it, tells you what your GKI is.

BOBBIESOCKS-46 - 2 hours after eating. I take my first reading 2 hours after coffee
Dr boz suggest as soon as your functioning, but before completely awake
each have different idea of when.. Most common is 2 hours after intake

while it is okay to take it after eating, it will show if there were surprise carb/ sugar in your food.

swerve which is suppose to be free of getting a glucose reaction is the one time my glucose was 152

it can be fun to see how your body reacts.



The one time I reached a GKI of .8 was after a 20 hour fast.. ketones were 5.7

I found a keto lava bite and was so exciting licking the bowl I thought I must have missed something.. NOPE it was my brain getting excised at the idea

I can't remember which Dr shared how sometime, just our minds thinking it is getting its fix aka sugar our glucose can up just with thinking about it.. LOL that is how addicting SUGAR / Carbs are..

ps I'll post the bowl licking Yummy chocolate lava bites in recipe area LOL they definitely filled my chocolate craving

CHERIE38, What is the best time to check the Keto readings?

I did it last night about 3 hours after my meal for the day (OMAD) and it was - Readings of BS - 100 & KMK - 0.7 at 10:50 PM so bedtime was late. I have taken the keto reading 4 times (at different times) and that was the highest reading I have gotten.


I Googled:
How do you get GKI, or the Glucose Ketone Index, from a regular glucose and keto meter?
Answer:
[Blood Glucose Result ų 18] ų Blood Ketone Result = GKI

100 divided by 18 = 5.555555555 divided by 0.7 = 7.93650793 so
GKI was 7.9 last night.

Here are some standards for understanding your GKI results:

Result What it Means
6-9 You're in a low level of ketosis. Ideal for anyone whose goal is weight loss or maintaining optimal health.

3-6 You're in a moderate level of ketosis. Ideal for those with type 2 diabetes, obesity, or insulin resistance.
