Ms. Glow, you're too cool for school :)

Your recounting does bring me a little hope today. Thank you.

I helped to organize and promote the very first Veg Fest in my city - it took place yesterday. Even in torrential rain, it was packed! The food vendors kept selling out - some were completely wiped out and some managed to replenish. But no one expected that many people for a first-time event.

We had people from miles away, different states and even from over the border in Canada. We had local animal sanctuaries and good causes for the animals and the planet. Even a children's corner with a vegan magician!

All of the entertainment was from vegan artists - including me. I was scared (normally sing and play in my own living room only) but I did it! Even wrote a protest song with vegan lyrics.
And I sang "Free Bird." I thought it was fitting. :)

Things are dire, and I'm mindful of Greta Thunberg's disillusionment and how hard things seem right now. That said, it was so positive to feel the energy and see so many people interested and/or living the life.

OH! And we aimed to be zero waste. Asked people to bring their own utensils, and had volunteers on hand just to separate landfill waste from food waste from plastic and tin.

In short, have a little hope today.
