I've been having some urgent bathroom visits when I break a longer fast. Following Megan Ramos advice and having 1 T chia seeds soaked in 1 cup water helps me break my fast without issues.

I'm with you BECCA. I normally have an omelet for lunch (if I am at home, of course emoticon ) after fasting. I like to have mushrooms, avocado, cheese, green peppers and sometimes steamed cauliflower inside! Really is filling. I also include ground flax seed and some spices when I beat the egg - like cayenne pepper, tumeric and ginger. The flax seed really adds the fiber and gives the omelet more body since I only use one egg. It takes a little time to put together but since I only eat twice a day, it hits the spot. Plus - I usually microwave a couple slices of bacon with it if I have available. emoticon

Since my fasts have primarily been extended, it usually is whatever I'm really "craving". I love that it's often an avocado!

I also enjoyed reading this past week in Dr. Fung's Fasting book where so much of breaking a fast really is psychological vs. physical. (especially since I have a LOT of "food" inside for my body to work on...FAT).

The best thing for me seems to be Almonds - it ends that panic that could turn me into a feeding frenzy monster when I tell myself I can eat!

I like to cook beef bones in the crock pot with herbs. Delish to drink. Helps me fast longer or I use it right before I end a fast.

What are your favorite foods/meals to end your fast? Please post here.

My favorite way to end a fast is a cup of tea or a cup of chicken broth. I then progress to a small portion of 4 % fat cottage cheese with a little fruit on top.
